I hate to leave a bad review, because ordinarily this store is fantastic, but I took my puppy there for a bath today and both hydrobaths were so beyond filthy that I could not even put my little puppy into them to use that filthy water. The sides of the hydrobaths appeared to have been cleaned, but in the wells, where the water comes from to wash the dog, there were layers of grime and filth and matted fur almost 1/4 of an inch thick. Heavy, greasy grime which did not even shift with a rinse, but which I could have written my name in had I been so inclined. It almost gave me the heaves to think of washing a dog in that. Very, very disappointed at such lack of attention to basic cleanliness. I don't believe those wells had been cleaned for weeks, perhaps months. I can update this now, because I have been back, and the baths were once more immaculate, so I'm giving back those third and fourth stars; it really is a great store normally.

I have owned poodles for over 30 years and I have NEVER encountered such complete inadequacy in dog grooming. I gave specific instructions for a poodle lamb cut, with clean feet and face -a standard cut for poodles. You can see by the photos attached how these instructions were completely ignored. On top of having my dog butchered, the customer service that I received at PetStock was insulting as I was told my dog “looked nice” and then still charged full price despite my obvious despair. I am simply disgusted by this experience. I will NEVER take my dog back here, and I would suggest other dog owners take note of my review.

Do NOT go here for grooming. They do not care. Subpar job also left without my dogs collar and an additional 35 plus minutes waiting once told to collect. When I complained to manager they just made excuses for the groomer. Then rebooked to fix it. Then AMAZINGLY day of rebooking the groomer was ill. They didn’t rebook me. I refuse to go back collected the collar and that’s it. Honestly, just a joke. Even the staff there on the day said the groomer is unreliable and can’t estimate his times. So what does that tell you. Also my poor dog was there over three hours and distraught when I took him home!!!! Do not go here.

Wont recommend their puppy school. Research and find a better option. The experience felt like dogs in a room being taught tricks of Youtube with a treat in our hands. My puppy who is a chihuahua had done all that work, she didnt get much individual attention or the attention that she needed. didn’t work for me. Also they wrote my name wrong and got my email wrong too and later promised to email it to me but it never came. Dog trainers should understand people from different cultures, their names and also making it accessible for each. A waste of money and me and my puppy’s time.

I have recently purchased items for my dog Alice and my cat Otis from the Clifton Hill store and couldn't be happier with the service and knowledge that I received. I have shopped in many pet stores but will now only buy from here. I would like to thank Lucy in particular who was very helpful and friendly while fitting Alice with her new harness. Walking her now is amazingly less stressful. All the other staff were very friendly and helpful also. Thank you and I will recommend your store to all my animal loving friends.

Stopped here on my way home from work to purchase dog and cat food. The lady behind the counter named TOYAH made me feel super uncomfortable, she followed me around like i was trying to steel from the store. Great way to profile your customers to male things worse i had the cat food in my hand so she decided to come up to me and ask me if she could keep it at the counter for me. I will never go back to this store again. Asked for the manager to contact me . 3 weeks later still nothing.

Very Friendly service and the products that I've bought from Petstock Clifton hill have been amazing . It's good to have a local pet store that really care about their customers and the customers pet . This store go above and beyond to ensure that the customer is happy and well looked after with the product that they need for their pet . It's service with a smile . All the staff I've had at Petstock are very friendly and so willing to help and provide a good service

The shop itself is ok, but the puppy school was a big disappointment. Were sitting literally in the middle of the store, surrounded by loud music and store visitors looking to buy some stuff for their pets. Obviously, pets can't learn in this environment, and the process is inconvenient for shoppers as well. With $40 per hour per person for the training (or $400 per hour if 10 attendees) it is a rip off. Huge disappointment.

Went with my father who is in his 80's and looks after a cat that was also my mother's. Both guys working here were very helpful and forthcoming in what the store's routines are in order for us to know when my father can get the usual supplies. A lot of retail businesses in the area are not always helpful to many, whether regulars or not, and I was very pleasantly surprised at the staff here. Thank you

Young fella today (didn’t catch his name tag) was awesome. I was in around 5pm-ish and he asked if I needed help, which I didn’t but then asked politely if he could pat my dog, asked lots of questions about how long I had him, what kind of dog and just seemed liked he loved animals. I know most working in pet shops loved animals but today I felt like me and my doggo were well looked after. Love it!

The staff at this particular branch go above and beyond. When we were nervous first-time dog owners, they answered endless questions (that didn't always have to do with buying anything from them). When I broke my arm but had to load our pup into the back of a cab for a big trip, they helped get her in there. The store in clean and well managed. We've been to other branches, but this is the best.

Incredible customer service! Called the store to find out if they had any cat fountains in stock before coming down. I spoke with Emily and she went through all the products, their prices and the benefits for the different species (cat vs dog). Thoroughly impressed by her friendly and informative service! She went above and beyond given they are very busy at the moment. Thank you!

Kind of remarkable place, they seem to have almost anything you could possibly need for a large variety of pets. The staff are knowledgeable & helpful. Prices vary a bit hence one less star. Probably worth the minute or so that it takes to become a member, up to 15% off some items as a member. Tricky thing is that the discount is from your next visit.

A petshop that actually cares for its pets. Too often do I see the state of the fish tanks at pet shops and dispair. Just moved into local area and had a chat with the staff. Super helpful bunch and most of all they had pin head feeder crickets (a lot to ask apparently). Will be shopping here from now on. See the cleanliness for yourself

Similar experience to other reviewers/customers. Great staff, not pushy re sales, great selection. Prices, though, are a little expensive. This seems to be the deal where you have the benefits of a physical store, qualified and knowledgeable sales staff, with all associated cost structure for owners. Will shop with them again. Marc

I took my pup to be groomed here. It's his first time. The counter ladies were great - especially the lady when i left, however, the grooming lady was unfriendly, struggled to smile and when i told her i was here for the $50 puppy cut, she seemed unaware then try to charge me more when i left.

Incredibly good service! We just adopted a greyhound and had a nice chat with multiple of their very knowledgable employees. Their help extended further than just product recommendations which we really appreciated. They also had a wide variety of dog products to choose between.

This place is hit and miss and all depends on who you get serving you. Most of the staff do not want to be there. We ended up walking out with puppy food for our 4 year old dog, despite trying to seek help from the staff on what was going to be best for our fussy cavoodle.

Greeted with a friendly smile and offer of assistance… quite a big store with a large variety of quality food and toys for your pet (Puppy)…. I only purchased what I needed and will definitely be back to have a better look around and re-supply..

Refused to price match as per their website. Showed them 5 stores selling a product cheaper and they said it’s under the cost price and won’t honour the website terms and conditions. This is obviously false advertising and very misleading

This place is great. We've been going for years for guinea pig stuff, but now we have a doggie it's got everything. And one of the staff was able to answer all our questions, and make heaps of helpful suggestions. Wonderful place.

They have a great range of products, at competitive prices, to look after your pets. The staff are also very friendly. I can honestly recommend this store to anyone, that is wanting to stock up on essential items for their pets.

High pressure sales. Followed around by not one but two sales people. Not the young sales people fault as I believe the toxic environment is being forced by management. Remember to ask for a receipt for your purchase.

Paid $140+ for 6 months Advocate flee/heartworm treatment pack . Went there thinking it would be cheaper that at my vet. Not so ! $119 at the vet. Apart from this the place is great - do all my doggie shopping there .

My local pet supply shop. I wash my dogs here in their hydro bath. I buy my Blackhawk dog biscuits here. The staff are very helpful. Keep an eye out for specials and discounts. They text me with weekly specials.

Just got to say how helpful the PETstock guys in their Clifton Hill store were. They went out of their way to fix our little puppy up with a harness and other stuff too and were so down-to-earth and friendly.

Staff here are much more customer focused than the people at Johnston St my pet warehouse. Super friendly and always ask if I need help. The diy dog wash is great to have so close to home. Recommend!

We took our dogs here for their first groom ever. We were worried because one of them is very anxious but the staff were all so lovely and made sure that they were comfortable and calm.

Great service, well set up DIY dog wash, good deals on some premium foods. They always offer to help carry or trolley the bags when I buy multiple bags of dog food, which is great.

The groomer here is fantastic! His attention to detail is amazing. Our lab comes home malt free! And that’s a tough job. The team here is so friendly our furbaby loves to visit.

went to a bird adoption thing here and had the best time! although we only chatted briefly, the staff were absolutely lovely and it was great to see such healthy + happy birds.
