After a whole lot of phone calls, long hold times and convoluted explanations from Toyota, I managed to find Port Melbourne Locksmiths as an alternative to getting a spare key cut for our car. They were professional, succinct, helpful, polite and far quicker than anticipated. I can highly recommend this service for cutting of spare car keys. If I ever lose car keys again, I'll be going straight to these guys. Thank you for making this such an easy process!

Port Melbourne Locksmiths installed a new digital lock to replace a poorly installed (by the builder) keyed lock today. The locksmith made sure the door closed smoothly and everything lined up correctly. Friendly and helpful. He even had a look at another issue we had with our security gate and installed a quick fix on the spot. Knows his locks, is patient and courteous, and willing to help and solve problems. I would recommend.

Excellent service and highly recommend. Called the number, sent a photo of a door, got a quote and booked it and a technician, Rami, was there the next day. He rang to advise an ETA and was punctual. The job was fast, professional and he cleaned up afterwards. Put an extra lock in for me as well. Nothing was too much trouble and he was friendly and very helpful. This is such a rarity in a tradie and it was much appreciated.

Contacted them over their website for a quote on replacing a lost Kia smart key (outrageously expensive if you have push button start it seems) and how quickly they could do it. They promptly got back to me and were very attentive, provided the best quote (I called around several places). Ended up actually finding my key but wouldn't hesitate to reach out to them next time I need a locksmith and recommend

Best service ive received in year's, friendly prompt, professional and despite further work required once arrived the technician was happy to help without it being a bother. As much as you dont want to have to call a locksmith the over and above service friendly and ethical pricing, i cannot rate this business more and highly recommend to the st Kilda and surrounding areas. An exception to the rule.

I had three doors which were supposed to be keyed alike. Unfortunately the keys I’d had cut only worked on two of the doors. I rang Port Melbourne Locksmiths about the problem & they quickly sent me a quote for two options. I elected for a technician to come to site & Rami was there within an hour. The source of the problem was quickly identified & resolved within 10 minutes. Great service.

We managed to lock ourselves out of our apartment on the balcony at 4:15pm on a Friday afternoon. Called them up after speaking to other companies who were far more expensive and there time frames were within a 10 hour turnaround - I could not wait and need to open the shop quickly so called Port Melbourne Locksmiths and they came out all the way to Essendon within 15 minuets and 5 there after the store was open!! We arranged a call out to open a locked cabinet for us, 6 months later- it locked us out again. Called to ask what can be done, whoever we talked to was terribly rude and and short, stating it was 'not their problem'. Wanted to charge another $165 call out fee for the same service, and was angry that we asked for a discounted rate. Won't use this company again.

I had a very good experience. A technician came out at 11:30pm when I’d locked myself out and was diligent, very calm and mindful of not disturbing the neighbours with too much loud drilling etc. Persisted in manually picking annoying 1930s style locks for over an hour to avoid drilling and waking the neighbours. Had an issue with my key fob on my car which had stopped working. They immediately went out to the car and reconfigured the key in seconds and didn’t charge me. Great service. Thought I had to replace my Passat key fob for which PML had quoted. It had failed after I replaced the battery. Turned out a minor adjustment was all that was needed. The technician saved me a lot of money (for a replacement key). Will definitely go there again if I need the services of a locksmith.

I got locked out with my little 8 month old last week - Port Melbourne Locksmiths sent someone round within 30mins and although it was a tricky lock, he was very nice and persevered till he managed to open it without drilling it open! Would use again although hoping I don’t have to!!

Rami, initially was engaged to replace our lock. However, he felt it would be a cheaper option to replace the door handle, which he sourced and installed. He even came back 2 days later with a little plug to make good a hole left by our our old handle. Couldn't be more impressed.

Spent around $1000 with them and they convinced us to install a very expensive lock on a sliding door as part of the work. It’s never worked properly despite being replaced once already. They refuse to fix it unless we pay again. Stay well away.
