Also known as the Witch's Hat, the Prospect Park Water Tower is a tall, white, cylindrical base with a green cone "hat" at the top. You can walk up to the base of the tower. There are some small paths and trails in the woods around it that offer some stunning views of the Minneapolis skyline (it's the highest point in the city). It's a neat, iconic place to visit but there's not a whole lot to do there. It is nice, quiet spot for a picnic and a beautiful place to watch the sun set. There is no admission fee or tickets.

Built in 1913, registered as one of the National Register of Historic Places in 1997, the Witch’s Hat was erected on the highest natural land area in Minneapolis, intended to increase water pressure in the neighborhood to fight fires which were more common back then. Rumor has it that Bob Dylan’s All Along the Watchtower was based on this tower. After visiting a nearby brewery and a restaurant, it might be worth strolling around the park and this serene neighborhood.

This is just an ordinary water tower. The door is locked and you can't get up, so I don't recommend it to everyone. If the water tower door is unlocked and you can go up, it's quite worth it. Because the water tower is built on the top of a hill, if you can climb to the top of the tower, you can see a good view.

It was hard to find parking. But I found a parking spot in front of a house. Didn't have to walk far to get to the entrance walkway. I wish the trees weren't hiding the witches' hat tower to get a good picture of it. The view of Minneapolis on top of the hill by the tower was nice.

This is one of these spots for sunsets if you're on campus. I wish they had it open to go to the top more. The entire Prospect Park area is good for a walk or a bike ride, especially in the places that are by the river. This area is really super crowded and there's a little Park at the base of the tower that's good for a picnic.

Big underrated spot in Minneapolis! Park is decent size and happens to be the highest natural point in the city. The sunsets here are absolutely stunning! I love to do a walk from down by the river all the way to this park l, really gets the heart beating.

Tranquil, at least while I was there, only time I've been. Fall colors were absolutely gorgeous and was so quiet being just off University Ave. The neighborhood it's in is visually captivating as well as the view from the top of the hill.

Not sure what Google Maps thinks this location is. There's a great view from the overlook and the park is nice too.

Prospect Park es un oasis en medio de la Avenidad Universidad. Se puede sentarse a tomar aire, caminar y trotar. Hay vista a las 2 ciudades: Minneapolis y St Paul

It’s a really cool place to watch the sunset as you can get an amazing view of the Minneapolis skyline. Also you can get to see the castle and enjoy the park.
