I have a history of illness. Red Hill have been my treating doctors for several years now. Recently, following a bureaucratic mistake in processing, I was sent into mandatory hotel quarantine. Due to the nature of my condition, this was obviously not going to work for me and would put my health at risk. I usually have full time carers and support etc. and am on a disability allowance. I immediately contacted the clinic in the hope that they would provide documentation to support my appeal to be moved from hotel to home quarantine. I made it clear that my health was at risk should I not obtain the transfer. The clinic agreed this was reasonable. They know my extensive history. They told me to hang in there and expect a call back from them shortly. However, the return phone call came in several hours later, mere minutes before closing time for the day. I was told to seek the intervention of a government provided doctor. They would not liaise with the health department in charge, provide a phone consultation with me, or even speak to me beyond reception. This was very disappointing. Obviously, being a Saturday, they had decided to pass the buck so they could take the weekend off. I gave in and requested that at the very least, my medical information be released to me so that I could provide it to Queensland health in my own submission. This was refused. They told me there was "too much red tape". As anyone can imagine I was dumbfounded by this decision. It took me to the point of threatening legal action before the receptionist finally backed down and told me to send in an email request for my information. I did this immediately. Three days later I am still locked in a room on my own, without any of the support I am used to with my current disability and medical conditions, and very concerned for my health and safety. There has to be some explanation for this and I am in the process of exploring legal recourse. My strong recommendation, is not to go near this place. When there's no money in it for them, their duty of care clearly lapses without delay. Similarly, if its Saturday and they just dont want the headache they will probably do anything to avoid helping you. Unless there is something I am somehow missing, I think it is pretty safe to assume this is a case of unconscionable neglect.
Dr Tim Davidson is probably the best GP in Brisbane and he looked after us extremely well but the Practice Manager there has upset us a number of times. A recent incident involving face masks was the last straw. We were told to wear a facemask as we were going to an appointment there. When we told them we did not have any, they told us we cannot come in and to go across the road to a pharmacy to buy them. They said they do not supply them, we suggested cancelling the appointment. They got very angry with this. We arrived and they told us to stay in our car then Dr Tim said he had a mask I could use. While in the appointment, the Practice Manager rang him and I could hear her say that I was a difficult patient and warned him. When we left, she decided to serve us, and guess what, she was not wearing a mask, but decided to charge us $3 for it. Then when we went to make another booking recently, they told us we still owe $3 for the mask and we could not make a booking until that had been paid. So we decided to switch practices, but they want to charge $40 just to send my file to the new Doctor. We are leaving them because of the Practice Manager. We wanted to explain to Dr Tim why we are going elsewhere, but she gets all the incoming mail too. Maybe we will bump into him on the street and we can give him this feedback.
Very badly organized I had booked an appointment for the 12th July (arrived in time) for my 4th Covid Jab. After nearly 50 minutes waiting in a very crowded waiting room, finally the doctor saw me (for just 1 minute or so), took me to the nurse where I got my Covid Jab (1 minute). In the past Red Hill Doctors were much better organized: online bookings for Covid shots, no waiting times ... perfect. But the new system (seeing a doctor) doesn't seem to work and is simply 'off-putting'. In times of Flu/Covid, the last thing you want to do is hanging around for 50 minutes in a crowded doctor's surgery, with coughing and sneezing patients. If they maintain this system I certainly will get my vaccinations at the Pharmacy .
Dr Tim Davidson is now in the second decade of looking after my family and I. His genuine care supporting his professionalism are the best I have experienced in medicine and he is obviously maintaining continuous learning. A fine GP in a practice under the strain of caring for many. I noted some negative reviews by others of Red Hill Doctors Practice, but my experience is that they maintain a great service in a sector that is under appreciated and under funded. I welcome that it is a larger practice with newer doctors being introduced regularly. This means that should my regular GP not be available there is always someone who is, and a fresh perspective is often helpful.
We have been using this practice for 36 years. We have tried other places while travelling and the like. The practice was started by Dr Bernadine McKellar. She is the best doctor, by far, that I have ever had the privilege to visit. She is up-to-date, genuinely kind and supportive, respectful of the patient's opinion and information and very, very clever. She has met the needs of all members of our family with excellence. My daughter, who is 27, states that she must be a heavenly body, because no human could be that kind and that smart. I know what she means. Visit her once. You'll never leave.
I am a new patient here and saw Dr Bianca Pettigrew, who I am very impressed with. She is friendly and cleared many things up about my injury/status that the hospital hadn't. The nurses spent a long time and care re-dressing my post surgery arm, which didn't cost much at all. I feel very well looked after and would highly recommend Dr Pettigrew. My only complaint would be about the places onboarding workflow for new patients. In the year of our lord 2023, it should be a single online form rather than three word documents with multiple redundancies and two phone calls.
Dr Roy Lancaster has been my GP for a number of years and I literally wouldn't be here as he has saved my life multiple times so cannot express my gratitude enough to him. He is certainly the best GP who continues to help with all my medical needs he is absolutely amazing. Dr Lancaster is a great person who is empathic, caring, very knowledgeable and always goes far and beyond than he has to for his patients. I am very lucky to have such a great doctor thanks again for everything Roy cannot thank u enough for everything u have done for me,thankyou
Staff refusing to supply a mask, forcing patients to pharmacy who are charging $5. Receptionist very rude and aggressive saying I could not have my appointment if I didn't have a mask. As a nurse, I have never been to, or heard of a healthcare facility not supplying a mask, turning patients away when they are there for health reasons nothing to do with Covid. The Doctors there have been mostly excellent, but the staff have never looked happy working there. No interest in patients, but happy to take your money.
Dr Wruck is a kind and thoughtful practitioner she always strives to ensure my health is a good as it can be and assists with kindness and without judgement. Reception staff are kind and helpful On a side note. Every doctors surgery runs a little over schedule. They're busy and people will book the 15minute appointment when they should have book a 45. It's not their fault so if you keep this in mind you'll have a 5 star experience
I have been visiting this practice for 30 years, even though I have moved from the area. Dr Hannah Maher has seen me through the birth and childhood of my two beautiful children and diagnosed my husband with cancer in time for him to make a full recovery. Hannah is always personable and thoroughly professional. I would highly recommend this practise to anyone.
Although the practice has many professional and capable doctors the practice has succumbed to the bean counters. It run in a very money orientated and unfriendly way. The reception staff are extremely rude and unhelpful. All appointments are a cash cow and the only effort expended is collection of your money. Not a good place to go.
I have never been to this surgery and had my appointment run on schedule. Like most I just sit and wait at least 10 to 15 mins. Today I had my appointment cancelled as I arrived 9 minutes late, business must be good. Oh the contradiction! It’s very disappointing, as I did like the young doctor who cancelled my appointment.
Charged $50 for a two minute phone consult (not even video) for a medical certificate. The consult required absolutely no clinical assessment by the doctor only minor clerical labour in transferring patients name onto template and printing. No medical advice or medication was discussed. $25/minute is a pretty steep rate!
Dr Emily Musgrave is a gem of a human being and a doctor who really listens and gives thorough, thoughtful care. The clinic does not bulk bill and the process to email new patient forms can be a little arduous for those of us who are 'executive function' challenged but it is worth it for a really good doctor.
Great doctors, can often get an appointment on a day when you need to see a doctor, have helped me with a wide range of problems. Fast, convenient & professional. However some of the front door staff can be a bit rude these days and don’t have the best customer service standards you deserve as a customer.
I’ve been seeing a regular GP here for many years and highly recommend this practice to everyone! The doctors are very knowledgeable and value patient care so you can see anyone. The online booking is great and the reception team has improved. Parking can get full so make sure to leave extra time.
Alison Gilmore is a friendly but professional doctor. She has a calm manner and takes time to listen. She is very good at diagnosing conditions and I would highly recommend her to anyone. As these doctors don't rush their patients sometimes you will find there is a short wait for an appointment.
I've used Red Hill Docters Surgeory since moving to Brisbane in 2011. They have always been professional, and have continued to provided excellent medical advice over the years. Special mention to Dr Tim Davidson, who sets the bench mark for what a knowledgable and caring Doctor can be.
My experiences over the years seeing Dr Wruck, Dr McIntosh and Dr Lancaster have made me grateful for such practitioners who are caring and empathetic. I have found it is absolutely worth paying to see a GP who is thorough, informative, and easy to talk to.
Very disappointing experience. I needed a new script only to find when i looked at my escript that it hadn't been included. It was vital medication. I felt like i wasnt heard. I had to go back and have another appointment which had to pay for.
Avoid this surgery at all costs. Terrible service, untrained staff, and a highly unprofessional practice manager who takes no responsibility for the many errors her staff and a Dr there made. Two staff and a Doctor agreed to help my elderly
Very professional medical staff. Admin staff and reception seem constantly overworked, which tends to be somewhat detrimental to patient care (especially for paperwork issues). Appointments tend to run late but if you go in the early
Loads of parking, and plenty of female doctors here. All doctors I've seen are very thoughtful, never rushed during appointment, and patient care has always been excellent. The reception staff have given me incorrect timing for my
Love my dr but reception staff are always rude .
