"I would first like to take the time out and say how unprofessional Mr Larry is !!! I did business in the past and wasn’t really happy because he doesn’t communicate very well but this time it was worst … I called Mr Larry on Thursday about some rims that he has I wanted to purchase from him and he told me that he would need to check on the price to let me know how much they would cost me no return call so I called and left him a message on Saturday and now it’s Monday still without a return call …"
Maybe it's growing up in the French Quarter, but they have a lassie farire business attitude. I called a month in advance to reserves some bikes, and the owner told me to email him. So I did but didn't hear back, so I followed up after a few days later and still no response, then again followed up 10 days later and no response. I called finally and booked it. When I whet to pick up the bikes they did not have children's 20" bikes (like they said they did) but adult 20" wheel bikes that have different geometry not intended for kids. Not surprisingly those bikes were too big. so we had to get a trailer intended for kids younger than mine, luckily they could squeeze in still somehow. When I asked about how much the difference he would refund he said in a non-nonchalant way that he would take care of it. Basically I come to find out he charged me the same price of a bike for the trailer, which was probably worth at best the same cost we rented it for. If you rent here make sure he tells you the specifics. On another note the city is not a great place to bike.
Renting bikes for such a great daily rate was the best idea my fiance and I could have had. We had already gone to 3 places before getting to RideThisBike. The others were not to our liking because they didn't have front brake bikes (only offered pedal brake bikes and I would have probably busted my ass). I got a beautiful and comfortable multiple speed bike with front brakes and my fiance got a really cool big tire cruiser with front brakes and pedal brakes. The process of renting them was quick and easy. We left the bikes there for a second and went next door to the Museum of Death. If you're into cool murder stories and things like that, you definitely have to check it out. As for the remainder of our experience at RTB, dropping off the bikes was effortless and quick. They were even nice enough to take care of my duffel bag as we went to have lunch somewhere in the quarter. These guys are definitely our go to for our next trip to NOLA.
Wow what an awesome bicycling experience we had buying a bike here. The owner Larry and staff, Josh, are extremely friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to biking and New Orleans. They answered all our questions and even let us test out a few bikes so we could determine which one we liked the most. Due to apartment space restrictions we knew we needed a foldable bike. Not only did we find a great bike we were happy with and met our needs, Larry and Josh helped equip us so we had a safer ride and protect our investment from theft. I see why they have so many great reviews and that is the very reason why I gave them a try. We are a satisfied new bike owner. We considered buying on Amazon, but that is WYSIWYG and where do you go for service later when you need it. You cant beat a place that rents, sells and also provides service. Thank you Larry and Josh for everything!!!
My wife and I rented bikes at this excellently located store in the French Quarter and had a great experience exploring the exceptional bike paths and bikable streets ( just watch out for potholes) that New Orleans offers. Larry was very helpful in meeting our needs as far as making appropriate bikes available and then suggesting routes. New Orleans is one of the most bike friendly cities in the US. There are extensive bike paths on each side of the Mississippi River, as well as along Lake Pontchartrain all connected by a greenway with a dedicated bike path (Lafitte Greenway) There is a very convenient ferry that takes bikes and pedestrians across the river very close to the bike store. Larry was a pleasure to deal with.
I would first like to take the time out and say how unprofessional Mr Larry is !!! I did business in the past and wasn’t really happy because he doesn’t communicate very well but this time it was worst … I called Mr Larry on Thursday about some rims that he has I wanted to purchase from him and he told me that he would need to check on the price to let me know how much they would cost me no return call so I called and left him a message on Saturday and now it’s Monday still without a return call ….. Mr Larry should not lie to anyone if he’s not gonna return your …. I would t recommend this bike shop to no
This shop has helped me out more times than I can remember. My bike is my transportation and practically an appendage but I feel safe leaving it in their care. Instead of being overpriced especially in the Quarter, the prices are fair. Also instead of automatically trying to talk me in to something they give me options to chose from. They are down to earth instead of talking down and I really appreciate that. They are laid back professionals and I highly recommended giving them your business
This is a fantastic bike shop. I purchased a bike here because I was having trouble finding one short enough for my body second hand. Larry had the perfect bike for me at a reasonable price, and walked me through how to register it on line so I could recover it if stolen. Came in today for a one-month tune up for free, and Larry fixed my issue within 10 minutes. Couldnt recommend this place enough. great service
I was in a hurry on my way home passing through the French Quarter when I blew the front tire on my bike. I was within walking distance of the shop and decided to stop in. I was greeted openly and one of the gentlemen paused what he was doing to prioritize changing my tube knowing that I was in a rush. Five minutes later I was on my way out. Friendly atmosphere with great service.
My wife and I stumbled upon this place and we're glad we did! Other bike rental places could not accommodate us like Ride THIS Bike did. Their location, availability, and hours were the best. We showed up without a reservation and within 10 minutes we were on wheels. The only thing better than riding a bike is renting it from this friendly, well-equipped outfit.
My wife and I were riding our bikes to a parade on Sunday when her tire blew. We had very little hope a bike shop would be open. Not only was he open, he fixed her bike THAT afternoon, and the price was shockingly inexpensive. To summarize, high quality work, quick turn around, and amazing service. Will only go here from now on
Very friendly. But NOT a good place to rent bikes. Rented 2 bikes and they were not very well maintained. We had issues with a very loose handlebar and a seat that became increasingly lopsided on one of the bikes and a faulty gear shift on the other. For the price, we felt a bit ripped off. Not worth it for the money.
I went there for a flat tire, surprisingly he offered to fix it by myself and sold me a very cheap kit for that. I really liked his attitude toward his business. he taught me how to fix my flat tire and couple of other issues I might have in future. He is a wonderful guy. God bless him.
Fantastic operation. The shop was able to accommodate our group of 6 during JF and we couldn't be happier. We're not an easy group to deal with, but our entire experience was positive. We've rented from other shops over the years and we wouldn't hesitate to use RTB again. Thank you
Thank to Larry, we spent a wonderful afternoon through the streets of New Orleans. The bikes were in a good condition and he planned a three hours ride til de Lake Ponchartrain. After finishing he recomended us a very good German Restaurant in the French Quarter. Imprescindible.
Larry is a formidable businesses man and is also a creditable mechanic. His selection of bikes and bike support is quite impressive. He carries fashionable and useful electric bikes to die for and the best foldable bikes in the world: Brompton. Oh! And bells, he also has bells!
I just stopped in to test drive one of Larry's ebikes, and loved it! He was super knowledgeable and patient with the questions I had. There is also a ton of value in buying local, with something like this, because you can service it with him if/when that time arises.
supercool shop and a supercool owner. i had no inclination to buy a bike until i wandered into the store to look around. as i was visiting from PA the guy took care of everything including shipping... also made a "choice" recommendation for dinner - GW Fins!!!
We had a great experience renting bikes from this shop. The owner personally made sure the bikes were safe and fit us and my pregnant wife well. He spent time sharing with us best places to bike, eat, enjoy the city's sites. A great overall experience!
Omg, Larry was SO helpful and knowledgeable! I'm not a cyclist, I don't even know how to ride well, and he gave me great advice and some pointers. Also recommended the best kept secret wine place in New Orleans (ask him, I'm keeping it a secret ) …
My chain snapped on my way back from work and this was the closest bike shop. Although the store was closing, the owner Larry was so gracious to check his stock for a replacement chain. Very friendly and thanks again for helping me out.
Great guys here. All sorts of bikes.Larry steered me on a perfect self guided ride to a patio wine bar and the day was perfect! After hours drop off too. Effortless and fun day thanks to these guys!!
Awesome place to rent bikes... Larry is very helpful and we have rented from him several times and he is our go to guy for bike rentals when we go to NOLA.... highly reccomend renting from Larry !11
This is a real bike shop owned by an affable native of N.O. who is a real biker. Super convenient location in the French Quarter. We had really nice 7 speed bikes (for an extra charge).
Larry knows his bikes! I went in there wanting to find a full size fold up bike and he hooked me up. The guy has something for everyone! You won't leave there disappointed!
Larry was great! Quality bikes, with locks and helmet included in the price (instead of add-on charges). We will definitely be hitting him up next time we're in town.
After 2 flats owner gave me $10 off of what was already the by far the most expensive rental. Seems like a nice easy going guy but beware of poor quality & service
High quality bikes, fully customizable, with and without motors, you name it... They have bikes for rent too, good way to tour NOLA on your own!
Very nice. Tube replacement is a little bit pricey but the service was worth it. Stop by and give this great LBS a well deserved look see!
Great bikes, awesome owner. Thanks Larry for the great bike rental & service. We definitely recommend this place. Rene & Annie from Texas
Very helpful guys for explaining bike trails if you are new to this area. Bikes were pretty good. We had fun driving to City Park!!
Great place, very local, excellent customer service, and just a pleasure to rent a bicycle from. Couple of rental options as well.
Excellent service. Was very satisfied. If you are in the French Quarter and need work on your bike this is your bike shop.
Great place! The bikes are sturdy and well maintained, and Joshua was knowledgeable and easy-going. Highly recommended.
I’ve never in my life had customer service as good at any bike shop ever. They are actually nice. Very refreshing.
Larry was very helpful and gave us good recommendations. Bikes rode smoothly and were in good working order.
RideThisbike was there for me in good times and bad times, especially in a pinch! Nice e-bikes too.
