I use the Planet Fitness here, and I haven't really spent much time in the mall and its shops. I did notice what a pain it is to not have mall access to Shoppers. Now, something I cannot fully evaluate at this point is the level of service of individual stores and their level of customer service, how well stocked they are, etc. In general, I believe that management companies like Riocan should do a much better job of ensuring their tenants adhere to high standard in customer service. A Pilate-like "wash your hands of the situation", grab-the-rent-cheques-and-run should never be acceptable, and more customers should step up to voice this. And unless I see management companies make fundamental changes in the way they operate in this area, I don't see any reason to give especially glowing reviews.
Always a great place to hang out with friends and family. Proximity to new popular Asian restaurants ( fast foods ), coffee house, Dollar Store, supermarket, Liquor Store, Pharmacy, Hardware Store, SubWay restaurant, Tim Hortons, Pizza , southern style spiced Louisiana food ( Popeyes ), Shawarma, Beer Store and Breakfast place. There's more amenities in this area aka College Square or Woodroffe Campus area. Something is always open there, in including MacDonald's. If your bored or just hungry, go there now. I suggest you try the new popular Asian fast foods places as the or clients are numerous indicating a popular place.
Riocan a well known name in shopping plazas in Ottawa, a name to be trusted. In both winter and summer their management of their commercial properties guarantee easy access and comfortable shopping. Plenty of parking and well designed variety of stores and food facilities throughout their locations. I have shopped in both east end and West end locations and in both locations I was very satisfied. It is the results of a professional team that takes care of all the details to make sure not only the client is happy, but also the businesses that lease from Riocan. Definitely a name to be trusted.
I was at the Dollarama at this mall leaving, when I noticed a man in a red truck yelling at a woman in a car that was attempting to leave. The man was belligerent and frankly scary. It looked like he was not letting her leave. I’m not sure who this guy was, it looked like he was maintenance for the plaza, anyway it was uncalled for and somebody should review with him that this is illegal. If it was me I would have called the police immediately. He eventually moved his truck, but not before causing a huge scene. Makes you wonder.
Its lacking in a few stores but it has everything you need in small except a barber shop , and having a TD bank is very convenient and the farm boy is a very good location they also have Vezina opticians which is great can easily book an eye appointment it has no food court but it does have a pizza pizza and a Subway and the farm boy and Shoppers Drug Mart and for clothing that have a big location for Marshalls inside the mall overall it's worth its 3 stars
Dollarama is there in that mall but I enjoy any other dollarama far more than this one , most of the people who work there are miserable, I believe its due to the manager, I've heard her speak to the staff and to customers in a very nasty tone. When I go to this particular store its only because its close to where I live. And if I'm in a hurry I'll go there but other than that I'll go to the one in college Square. Its a much more pleasant experience
I was trying to leave the parking lot, this guy double parked his truck behind me, got out, went about whatever his job is. Trapped me in my parking spot, and refused to leave. I had to threaten to call the police. I think he was suffering some kind mental episode as he was ranting about his job and how tough it is to work. Everyone has problems, but you can’t trap people because you hate your job or who you work for. Ridiculous behaviour.
A lot of free parking spots for many different stores and businesses: Beer store, Dollarama, Ardene, Laura, Winners, ScotiaBank, the Shoe company, Value Village, Factory Direct, 168 Sushi.. I haven't been everywhere but I can say that their Ardene is very well supplied, as is their Dollarama. The Beer store has plenty of space for parking next to the entrance so it might be a great stop for you if you have empties and you want to buy beer.
Nice selection of stores, and tons of parking. The only thing is the parking lot can be (sort of) dangerous at times. Because there are so many lanes and places to go, you'll have to watch yourself as your walking through it. Behind the Value Village is well lit, so you can cut back there if you live behind or want to go to the independent.
It's renovated and with better stores! This place has pretty much everything you could possibly be looking for beer clothes shoes video games etc. Great place to take a lazy weekend. Only problem is that it can be a bit busy so expect a ton of cars in the parking lot and some aggressive or non observant drivers...
This is an older mall that has been recently renovated. The anchor stores Farm Boy, Shoppers Drug Mart, Sport Chek, Marshalls are the same as everywhere else. There is nothing really special about this mall over any other. It is much smaller than most. Parking area is busy and often quite full.
A good place to shopping with a reasonable prices. Inside this mall, Farm Body is good for daily groceries; Marshall shop provides quality-quarantined clothes and home wares; Shopper Pharmacy provides common drugs and sport store provides good instruments like bicycles.
Mall has recently been given a huge makeover. Key tenants are Shoppers, Marshalls, Sportschek, Farm Boy, TDCanadaTrust, CIBC, Planet Fitness, Subway and a bunch of other smaller stores. T&T Tailors are good . Mall is clean & spacious with plenty of parking. …
Why I like this place. I get my groceries & my beer at Farmboy, my cannabis at Hobo & my prescriptions at Shoppers. I do my workouts at Planet Fitness & I play pool at Tailgators. I do my banking at TD. All at Merivale Mall which is a huge bonus in the winter.
If you drive bully on you. Walking is a death sentence in this "Smart mall" layout where every store looks close but in fact is a mirage. Wanna hit Dollarama then Crappy Tire? Charge up the Rascal, put on the flags, puppy on your lap...they're a mile apart.
The structure requires renovations, as the Winners always seems to smell like sewage. The parking lot here (Especially infront of the Dollarama and Value Village) is always a disaster. Proper and regular By-Law enforcment would vastly improve conditions.
Another grwat little strip mall. I frequent a few stores here. The parking lot is clean. It does get busy but usually not crazy. The mall has an excellent selection of stores. Several entrances to the parking lot make it easy access. Its a handy place.
A good mix of businesses (I generally go for Value Village, Dollarama and The Beer Store) and well located. The parking lot can get pretty full on the busy days and people get creative with where they leave their vehicles which is a bit of a pain.
I'm a big thrifter..the only reason I keep coming back is they get so much product...yes..there prices have been climbing...everyone wants to thrift now..I have been thrifting over 15yrs..getting harder to find the gems...lots of competition now.
The parking lot is a bit of a shitshow, and the layout is weird. Going up to the independent from the front can be a little chaotic with people walking everywhere or cars coming and going from all directions. Needs more stop signs or something.
my experience always varies when going to this establishment sometimes I get excellent service sometimes I get mediocre therefore I give the three stars I would make it 3.5 but for some strange reason Google doesn't let us give half points
This is a strip mall. The businesses - lighting, phone repair, E Indian restaurant (I've been told the food is quite goid) solid and it is easy to reach. The reason for my rating is due to the sometime challenge finding parking.
Went to Marshalls. Nice store, clean and neat. Staff helpful when approached (unlike staff at Trainyards who were rude or uninterested in helping customers). Would definitely recommend Merivale store over Trainyards store.
I had the best time shopping here. It has been close to 20 years since I shopped here and was blown away by new stores to choose from. I HIGHLY recommend "BRASS AND GIFTS". I love everything in this specific store.
Go to buy good stuff for a good money. You can find new or used in a good condition. And don't forget to pass for showcase, to see the great selection of jewelry, collectibles or games that they they have.
It has a lot to offer but getting out onto Merivale is a pain in the behind because one of the exits is so close to a very busy intersection. I still go there because of my bank, Winners and Shoe company.
It's a plaza but business types are diverse and has some great places to eat. Some restaraunts deliver via skipthedishes as well but location is worth a visit if you are in the area
One of the best Winners in town. Great selections, great varieties for clothes and general housing accessories. If you're looking for more Home sense is right up the road.
One of my favorite places to go. Mainly because it has Winners, the Shoe Company, and Dollarama. With so much selection, you're bound to find something you like.
Needs space between car parking. The parking spots are so close, it is difficult to open the door and get out of the car. Wish it was like Costco's parking lot.
A normal shopping plaza. Reasonable selection of stores and restaurants. Value Village recently opened here. Dollarama is also a store to visit for cheap items.
Went to shoe company nice stock had what I was looking for. Not many associates in store and found store very dirty. The washroom was very dirty.
Best value village in ottawa. They have the best selection of clothing and furniture. When coming to ottawa this is my go - to value village .
It's easy to get too parking using too far from any of the stores. Everything is close toguether and the layout is easy to navigate around.
I love telling peoples how was my experience so peoples will know what to expect and not be disappointed like me on certain place …
Great shopping plaza. Plenty of parking space and it is convenient to stop by the Scotia Bank if you need the money for your shopping.
A very convenient shopping mall in a very great locations with some brands like Beer store, Dollarma, Value Village, ToysRUs and more
2022-10-21: Riocan REIT (REI.UN) is a good investment right now. So is Smart Centres REIT (SRU.UN). Strong 'buy'. Take it from me.
It's a relatively good place to shop. Has a bank, grocery store, assorted restaurants, clothes, shoes. All the parking is free.
Outdoor mall. Parking is a bit chaotic, felt tight to maneuver around. Lots. Of choices to choose from, food, clothing, etc.
This parking lot is disrespectful to its customers and should have been fixed years ago. The stores aren't great either
Convenient to have Value Village and Dollarama in same plaza. Parking is a little tight, but snowbanks will melt soon!
The plaza has a lot of great things going for it - but just be warned, many of the clientele are constantly stressed .
There are many shops in this mall but the parking lot can be close and difficult when it's busy, beware your doors!
Lots of great stores for every age. Parking is free and there is a grocery store located just around the corner.
Was disappointed in the selection. Store merchandise was messy, boxes open all over the place, and unorganized.
It's a decent mall. It has reason to go there. Parking lot is in good shape. Good access from all sides.
The mall has variety of stores - Winners - Dollarama - Value village - The shoe company Etc
Not a bad place to get some shopping done. Variety of stores, plenty of parking.
Each shop has different opening and closing times, no place for seniors to rest.
This Winner's location is great for office clothes for business casual.
Similar to all of their commercial properties. Popular big box stores.
Parking needs to be reoriented from Nort South to East West facing.
Love this place huge many displays well put together clean best one
Good lineup of stores. Only problem is the traffic on Merivale.
Ardene's has quite a lot of good stuff at a reasonable price.
Very packed location now. But good stores in this plaza !
Lots of parking, easy access and good variety of stores.
Lots of my favorite shops in one place. Very convenient.
Great selection of unusual restaurants+ nice cinema
This mall has bigger stores with larger selection.
Very nice plaza. We always have great deals there.
Clean and well laid out. Great shops here too
Nice little area . Some good stores near by.
Good selection of stores and ample parking
All the things I love in one spot
It's a complete shopping mall.
Not bad just a normal place
