If there was away to get this police station closed down I would. We have had numerous incidents with this police station. We lived in raath street and it would take them hours to show up when called. When my father got stabbed they were on scene opened a case of housebreaking not of attempted murder..because housebreaking is low on their priority list. They didn't have vehicles we had to drive them to milpark hospital in order to take my father's testimony...of course nothing more has ever come from it. When you phone them they put the phone down in your ear consistently. As for certifying documents, try any commissioner of oaths, most chartered accountants ,lawyers and 3@1 at florida junction do it for free.

These guys will make you wait while there's no need to. You'll wait 1 to 2 hours for certification and Affidavits when there's only 5 people ahead of you. They even refuse to open cases for foreign nationals who have been assaulted stating that they must go to the clinic as they can't open a case for someone not knowing what medical experts say. I watched an injured guy fall down as he was turned away. They have the audacity make fun of the public ad even ask for bribes when people come to visit those in the holding cells. There's also homeless people who sleep right by the door of the building.

Roodepoort police station is one of the worst I ever visited I wanted a permit to go back to my hometown after standing more than an hour an officer decided to assist people behind me with certified copies I had to asked them when will I be assisted and told me after a long wait that I need to go to the magistrate court for relocating form I was actually shocked the way they also handled this pandemic by not sanitizing your hands when you enter the police station some drastic measures needs to be taken at Roodepoort police station

No care for protection of women and children. In 2016, I came in after my ex husband strangled me and they wouldn't give me the paperwork the doctor asked for to open a criminal case. Last year when my son was attacked by the same man, same MO, they took months to get a statement from my son and did nothing in terms of protecting my son or referring him for trauma counseling. The queues take about three hours on average and this has been the case for the last 3 years. Definitely failing to serve the community.

My flat was broken into and when we called the police station a policeman told us that we must come to the police station first... I mean how does that work???. We then went there and they asked us why did we come there. Honestly very frustrating, we even had to ask them to come take finger prints and then they said they'd let us know when they can come. Very disappointing. Still waiting for them to come....

They dont answer the phone! Sometimes when they do they put the call down in your ear! They dont send vans when you call fpr help and are being attacked, if the van rocks up, they are friends with the people who are in the wrong, no justice being served. If you do nothing about the crimes being done you are just as guilty. The disease of corruption

I have been standing here for longer than an hour and still I'm not helped. The officers are helping other people but whenever it is my turn, they tell me sit and wait even though all i want to do is make an affidavit. This is also not the first time this has happened. Every time i come here the service are getting worse and worse!

Don't even waste your time going to this police station. Unless you feel like waiting for two hours just to have documents certified. It's ridiculous. The unprofessionalism is uncalled for, And how about having elderly people wait for hours just for certification? Can't respect such.

I have to say I have never in my life felt so ill treated, disrespected and in fear of my own life while waiting to get assistance on a case number. The most ugliest group of "officers" I have ever encountered. I am enraged and in fear of my life.

Police are generally polite and will try to assist you where they can. Be warned, some horrific cases can be witnessed when you go there at the end of the month of weekend late at night.

No one answering phones at the station. Cannot lay a complaint. 10111 is not answering their phones. JMPD is not helping so who do we turn to?

A frustrating wait around the shift change I could understand, but even on the best days its a confusing process to get things done.
