Today I found a young boy walking around crying, lost and scared. Maybe had a small fight or something not my problem right? But I couldn't help myself so I stopped him to ask why he is crying only to be told that he is from Zimbabwe and arrived last night with his mother and sister on a taxi, when 3 men robbed him and obducted his mom and sister in a red vehicle. He managed to run away and was lost. Walking the streets alone through the night. Gave him something to eat and drink and took him to the Somerset West police station a lady officer helped immediately. Timing was bad as it was change of shift, but before the officer could hand over the case, a female Constable Nana took over, whom had just arrived for her shift. She took my details. Later she called asking where I found him... I asked her to please call me back to let me know he is safe and OK and where I can find him again, because I cannot imagine what this 9yr old foreign kid is going through lost in Cape Town alone. Anyways. She called me back past 22:00 confirming he is OK and safe and gave me contact details to locate him again. Great service Constable Nana*(I think that's how it's spelled)

Really poor attitude. And not helpful. Especially Sergeant Phelane. Even answering personal phone calls whilst I am reporting a crime. After 2 days I had to return to the police station because I still did not receive a Case number. The first officer to help mencould not find the file. A second officer had to assist and actually only issued me with a Case number while I had to wait. I still have not received a SMS with the case number as promised.

Useless, lazy. And an utter disgrace to have in this town. I have witnessed them multiple times use their sirens and lights to get through traffic and over red lights just so they can turn them off 1 block away form the station (close to closing time in the afternoon). There was no emergency, they just abused their position to not have to sit in traffic or wait at robots. So their time is more valuable to them than your life clearly.

There'e something disgraceful going on in this Police Station. Tenth of people have been scammed by the same guy through a fake car rental agency in April-May 2019. Many of them have filed complaint in Somerset West Police Station, as as far as we are concerned, nothing has been done to stop this guy... And I am not even talking about our stolen money... Btw I have proofs of everything I have said

The absolute WORST police service in this country. One called ADAMS is the most disgusting human being (if one can call him that) on earth. He is intimidating and shouts throughout the entire ordeal at the VICTIM. How absurd! Another instance where I would like to claim every cent of my tax money as it is completely wasted on this junk! Absolutly pathetic!!! He should be put under investigation.

Needed my fingerprints for the police clearance certificate required by my visa application. Officer Visser was AMAZING! Friendly, professional, efficient and patient! I have no idea how the rest of this Police station is, but he absolutely made my day!

Visited the Somerset West police station today to have my fingerprints done. Every single police officer was so friendly and helped me and the other people immediately. My fingerprints were done quickly and everyone so professional. Very refreshing!

Had a visit to the DFO for a competency application. As far as a professional service is concerned 10/10 as far as SAPS service is concerned 15/10. Smooth and enthusiastic in their work. Bennie that assisted me was amazing. Well done Somerset west!

Had such a hostile encounter with the lady at the clearance office. She treated me like dirt when I request to have my police clearance done. Will never trust that Station to help me ever. They diserve a BIG FAT ZERO......

It is so hard to smile and be polite when dealing with someone that is clearly not interested in her job, helping you and acting as if she is doing you the biggest favour in the work. It is sad to see and experience.

Its a very good police station, but they take their time getting to the scene of the crime, I live about a 2 min ride max from the police station, they usually show up after 15-20 min

Had to get an affadavid during lockdown for UIF. Was treated very well and in a professional manner. Stark contrast from the way I was treated as Strand police station. Thank you

As far as my interactions with the SAPS goes, this was quite a good one. Queue moved relatively fast and the officer who helped me was quite friendly and helpful.

Had a useless detective investigating an easy case. Lost some of my stolen goods because of his lazy incompetency
