APPALLING BEHAVIOUR from young male "manager" Unbelievably, this person demanded my 87 yr old uncle (who has dementia, anxiety and walks with a wheely frame) and I leave the cafe as he served a coffee to our table. We had arrived at 2:15 pm on Monday 17th July. It wasn't busy but when asked to order a coffee the young male said he was busy and asked me to come back to the counter in a few minutes. We chose a table outside on the deck. I returned inside to order and pay for a coffee for my uncle. The male appeared frazzled and said he'd had a very busy lunch service - he was in no way welcoming. After 25 mins and no coffee, I asked a waitress who was clearing tables if she could check on the coffee as it could have been forgotten. Another 10 mins went by, my uncle was asking "where is my drink?" Finally the male "manager" appeared with the coffee and I said "At last!" This person became infuriated and demanded "what did you say?" I repeated my statement. He became very angry and shouted that I had to leave at once as I had been rude to him as well as the waitress!! Firstly he insisted that I needed to go and that my uncle stay. I told him this was a ridiculous and preposterous suggestion. He then said "both of you get out now!" My uncle was understandably upset and confused. He tried to leave without his walker which caused him to stumble and nearly fall. A shocking, frightening and inexcusable situation, caused by this so called "manager"!! My uncle used to love his outings to the harbour but has become increasingly anxious and is now refusing to leave his home. I have made 2 attempts to contact the owners of this cafe re this APPALLING incident but they have not responded to my messages.

Always enjoy sitting by the waters edge, however..... On our recent weekend 25.11.2023 visit, the staff appeared overwhelmed and inexperienced. Two orders of fish with salad on the side and another plate of mussels were on order. This took 3 staff to get it processed at the till. One bottle of beer ordered at the bar, required another regiment of staff to sort though the fridge. Not having proper commercial beer fridges with front display glass did not help the matter. A half decent stern captain at the helm was required, to crack the whip when necessary. The staff wandered aimlessly searching for our table, because they got the order wrong, to the delight of the on-looking seagulls. The mussels had a longer beard than I did. Mussels require cleaning before cooking. The kitchen staff should be given 30 lashes and think themselves lucky.

Although this Cafe is in a lovely location and I visited on a reasonably quiet day I was disappointed with the food and service. I ordered Fish and Chips which was hugely expensive and very basic. 3 small bits of battered, tasteless fish and overcooked chips for $26,.no salad no condiments offered. Service was pleasant and friendly but they completely forgot the wine I ordered. I don't think I'd return as it's basically a tourist trap that doesn't seem to care other than charging exorbitant prices. I don't mind paying for good quality food and service but to think I'd wasted $40 when I could have gone to DOC in Mornington Main st and had superb quality food, wine and much better service taght me a lesson.

Menu lists ‘classic eggs with bacon’ $21 Ordered a ‘classic eggs with NO bacon and charged $26.40 incl. % surcharge Asked why the high cost? Apparently poached, scrambled & fried eggs are $3 extra .. so $24 When asked what does classic eggs mean the staff member was unable to explain and even spoke to many staff members behind counter, only to return with no answers. This place employs young kids who have to put up with bad bad management skills and the frustrations of paying patrons. Probably exploiting them

Cozy small eatery located at the edge of the water. Decor is simple and relaxed. Ordered fish and chips. Found the fish a little fishy for me but the chips were perfection. Service is friendly and welcoming. If available, recommend getting a seat outside, provided you've got sunscreen on. Def will give it a 2nd chance and try other items on the menu next time I'm in the area. Popular with families and seniors too.

My son and I had a great lunch at this nice little cafe surrounded by amazing seaside views. The food and coffee were delicious with alright quantity. We sat at the outside table for 1.5hrs to enjoy a lovely afternoon by looking at the pier view under no pressure from anyone of the cafe. Good eating experience.

Stopped in for a coffee and ended up having Burger and chips which were really good. Good coffee too, they have a Starbucks like coffee menu for those who like, for me I like a nice strong latte and I got it. The view is really good, right on the water. Staff are on the ball and nice you can grab a menu or as we did use the table QR code to order and pay. Nice and simple.

There is no way to avoid card surcharge as they don’t accept cash payment. 1.9% card surcharge what a ripped off! Edited: as shown in the photo, there is a sign clearly states that Card Only/ NO Cash! Staff said the same to us. As we were dining in not getting take away, we were unable to pay at the other counter that accepted cash. People be aware!

Excellent service today, and a lovely lunch out. Thank you to the staff who accommodated our 6 person table request (without a booking), and for your kindness as we left. Very much appreciated. Best fish and chips going around!!

Disappointed when waiting patiently for a take away coffee at 8am (opening time) and staff members see you waiting yet they chose to ignore our presence. What does it cost it give a smile and ask us to wait a little longer? Even if they weren't quite ready to serve us, we would have happily obliged.

Had a really nice arvo here. Nice menu options and great chill spot for lunch with a view. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Food is the star, well sourced ingredients and balanced flavours makes the simplest dish delish nice work. Excited for round 2

Such a great experience! We had two x prams and four adults on a Saturday and they made a bigger table for us with more space for the prams. The food was absolutely delicious and they went over and above to help us out. Will definitely be back

Very disappointed. All the staff were lovely (especially Grace who tried to sort out our order problem). However, the female chef was extremely rude; her calamari was soggy as was her attitude. There was no love in cooking or the food. Battered fish was tough and nasty. More

I have been to this little cafe once before and their service was good but this morning i went and it was very disappointing.. we sat at a table that still had dirty dishes from the people before us.. they only got taken away 10 minutes

Normally very good, but today’s meal was served too quickly. It was cold and the calamari ranged from overcooked to just ok. Not properly garnished. My suspicion is that it was a left over meal, served as fresh. Not on! More
