"A classic supermarket shopping experience"
Over the years, Sims, before joining IGA, was on a steady decline. After joining with IGA, it was hoped that the supermarket would be able to pick itself up... But it never really did. The technology is behind (paying by NFC or even Tap&Go is hit and miss) and the staff seem to have lost interest in the store (partly because they are missing some entitlements). There has were chocolate eclairs that my Mum purchased for us, that are clearly marked to be frozen, were placed on a shelf. The cream had turned, so we took them back, got a refund and suggested that the rest need to be disposed of. Over the next two days, both my Mum and I had noticed that they were still on the shelf. The only reason that this review doesn't get one star is because the liquor store is pretty good on value.
I have only shopped at Sims IGA since the start of the Covid-19 Global pandemic after seeing the difference in hygiene & covid safe shopping between the big supermarkets & this IGA store as you see all baskets & trolleys being disinfected after each use as the management & staff keeping a very high standard of cleanliness & hygiene and this makes for a safer grocery shop. The meat department has excellent quality meat & the groceries are always of high quality without the high price tag. Every staff member is extremely helpful, friendly & polite. I won't shop elsewhere while this quality of service is given. I highly recommend Sims IGA for all your shopping & they will even help you to your car if needed. Old school customer service at very competitive prices.
I purchased a cask of Hidden Brook Classic Dry Red ($13.99) from Sims. I know it has just come into stock as a few days previous they were waiting on it to arrive. A week later I was in NQR (Not Quite Right) and they had the exact same wine for $6.99 with a Best By date of 10/16. Out of curiosity I checked the Best By on the Sims product and it was identical. I tried on 3 occasions to notify Sims but after the initial robotic pickup and select you department no human ever came to the phone. I was only intending to tell Sims so they could take it up with their wholesaler if this was of concern to them. I still like the shop and their excellent range of exotic goods
This is a great supermarket. I love the old style feel of it. The store is well stocked and laid out and prices are relative in comparison to the majors - sometimes a little over. It has a great stocked deli offering warm food items like chicken, roast potatoes, carrots and selection of other hot foods including pies and sausage rolls. On walking in, turning left to the very end, a great range of muscle chef meals for $10. If you haven't been here, check it out. Oh and yes, they stock the chocolate aero bar.
A classic supermarket shopping experience. This Sims/Supa IGA does stock items that other supermarkets and stores do not stock at all - including fresh bones for your dogs. Prices sometimes are cheaper than Coles and Woolies too - just keep an eye on their catalogues for discount specials. The line for service is a bit long but honestly prefer it to the increasing amount of self-checkouts at Woolies/Coles and having to put items back and forth till it recognises there not another 'item in the bagging area'.
With some feedback from firends .. I've started shopping here ( Due to go into a Woolies That had a FACE RECOGNITION Recording ) ✅️ They have what I need ✅️ It is a little more, Expensive However .. They also have Weekly Specials I much rather Support them, Than the likes of Woolies Found something to hang on the tree And, some Xmas, loo paper too
Maybe this is because we went on a Sunday of long weekend.... The lines in checkout were long and there was only one checkout open. The person at the checkout was inexperienced, and lack of self-checkout option made it difficult for us, considering that we only had one item to buy. The place also lacked "Express Checkout" option. Otherwise, the choice of goods was good and there was ample parking.
May be a small independent store, but the staff here are amazing, thank God there is no self serve checkouts, Prices are a little higher then the bigger chains, but regular sales, and discounts, and did I mention the amazing service? All make it worth going here then those other places! Support these smaller stores, so the can continue to hire human employees!
Love this amazing super market always fresh produce great deli .meat department is excellent. & overall store is very neat & great customer.er service keep it up .as l use to work for Coles and worked very hard to keep it ammaculate as it takes a whole store team work to accomplish what your store has today. So Happy Australia Day to you All
Im a woolies and aldi shopper, but wen I can't be bothered driving to wyndham vale I shop locally at Sims IGA, the staff always greet with a smile, a huge selection of foods (albeit pricey) but love the fact they have real humans doing checkout. I don't mind the wait it's that personal touch which is missing from the bigger stores!, please don't change
Today i bought yogurt from sims.when i came home i put it in refrigerator. But wife told me that we need natural yogurt not Sweet and creamy. So i went back with receipt. But they refused to take back and deal badly. I was a regular customer but now decided never ll go there. In this competition era so bad customer services i recommend never go there.
This is my neighbourhood supermarket so I use it frequently. However I always find the selection a bit limited. Target auduence seems to be a lower income household so don't expect any delicacies here. Prices are usually good however. The product mix is also strange. They have more ice cream options here than any of the major chains. Weird?
Our IGA has a number of items that I have problems finding in other Supermarkets. The staff are very helpful and treat you as they like to be treated. The prices of some items are a little dearer however my comments above are more important to me personally. I would like to thank the staff at IGA. Tarniet Road Werribee.
I've noticed a few things that set IGA apart from the heavy hitters such as Cole's and Woolies. They are never overcrowded. The store doesn't have self serve check outs. The meat is far superior. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Altogether a pain free and pleasant experience
First time in my new neighbourhood store and was impressed with how clean and neat the store is and the pride that's show in the shelving display in all aisles. Something the other supermarkets should follow, and they only have cashiers Give this store a go.
Great customer service, best bread around but it always sells out and we travel to get it so kind of annoying would rate 5 if the bread was there everytime, great little supermarket. Can get some good specials. Milk and Bread great prices. Open until late
I have been going to Sims since it opened some years ago. While the overall standard has improved over the years, since the store became fully IGA, the prices have gradually increased and they no longer seem to compete with the other supermarkets nearby.
Went to the drive through bottle shop. The attendant was friendly and helpful. There wasn’t a lot to choose from and some things were a bit pricey. We got what we needed. Locked fridges. Hmm. I guess that make sense, just have never seen that before.
Always loved shopping here, has a lot of good Mediterranean produce and it's a lot cheaper then your standard Woolworths and Coles, well worth the trip if you want to shop here. Only bad thing is that their fruit selection has always been a let-down.
Its so hard to find a supermarket thats stuck in the 2000s i absolutely love that about this supermarket has a relaxed vibe everytime i go in there staff could be a bit more cheerful but other than that. I hope this one stays open for a long time.
It's my closest local, I have gotten to know some of the staff and all the staff are friendly and helpful whenever I've been there And there Fruit and Vegetables are the ones that last the longest out of all the other shops that I have frequented
I really like this store. This make sense the way that they are arranged. Fresh produce is super fresh and cheap. Staff are friendly and courteous and willing to help when needed. I will be using this site for some groceries whenever I pass by it
Run down supermarket hasnt changed at all for years. Some continental food sold here that you cant get in the other shops they do have some good specials pricing is similar to the others. There are some seedy characters that frequent this place.
Not the 1st time, this has happened. You put bottles of your Wolf Blass, Moscato, directly behind bottles of Wolf Blass, Carronaday. This is the third time this has happened toe. I hate the Moscato. Not good enough shelving, very disappointed.
Its as good as any small supermarket. It just doesn't stock all brands and surprisingly some foods. Which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I don't mind trying different brands but it's hard to find a total replacement.
Been there rarely, but gone there today, their black and gold brand is cheap, and all their chicken was discounted, their other products, more expensive than the main stores, cannot buy everything U need there, but I will be back.
Everyone in this store is so friendly and helpful. Lynette, Mary, Allison and one I call Smiley as she always has a big smile on her face, the manager and all the other girls make my shopping a joy. Especially during Covid.
I love that this place is open on christmas day i always drop in to grab some last minute things before heading out of town. Alcohol department isnt open till 12pm but thats still okay. …
I noticed on entry that the front door was broken which has been like this for awhile now. The store is not laid out well and it was hard to figure out what was down which Isle. The shopping is abit more pricer that ALDI.
Bay marina is broken so no hot food at all and one door is broken. Tells you a lot. Poorly kept place. Not a place I'd visit again to spend my cash in. Not very clean at all. In comparison to other IGA,'s
I've never had a bad experience with service here it's close local and it's great. And I wouldn't drive past sims to get to Coles or woolworth's to get meat because sims meat is by far better quality.
Managers special tags placed in region of other products leading one to believe they are getting the product on special. When in actual fact it’s a full priced item. Advice. Read all tags carefully.
A smaller shopping centre than Woolworths or Coles. But when you don't want the the crowds and travelling its fantastic. Has most everything but not as many brand varieties. A little dearer too.
Store feels old, dark and depressing. It needs a major makeover I don't know how the staff can handle being in there for more then 5 mins. The staff were friendly and the prices reasonable
Ok just been their only in emergency shopping because it's very expensive than other grocery shops not finding good weekly deals like other food stores Hope they will do good in future
I regularly shop here, staff are friendly, yes it is expensive but I'd rather support an independent than the majors, and it has everything you need and in some cases even more.
I'm not fussed with this store, the staff aren't friendly at the service desk, prices are very high, a cold atmosphere. Also they didn't sell any frozen fruit for smoothies.
Always good for a quick shop for food to make dinner. Meat is excellent quality and good price. Vegies always fresher than other supermarkets. Some great specials too.
I never was at the IGA,,on this trip ,,I was over at the B,B,Q,chicken shop ,,great place ,,but in all fairness the staff at that I G a are great to shop with ok
I only use for last minute buying essential items, prices are on the high side, but it's convenient for where I live. For big family shopping, I don't recommend.
Get a renovation. Feels like SSW from 1979.... poor lighting to boot. Refresh or rebuild, charge the same as Coles and Woolies but im in a dark old dingy store.
OK place to do a quick shop, however if i were going to do a major shop for the week then i would recommend going to a more major or better looking supermarket.
Not In a great part of town... supermarket is very dated and the general area looks run down..not all items available and watch out for bogans in the car park
it's big unlike other IGA'd, Very wide range similar to coles/woolies. Ample parking and friendly staff. Prices are uncompetitive with coles/woolies but ok.
Fabulous shopping here they have great specials and the money goes back into the community as it is independently owned which is a big plus for me. :)
Worksafe should definitely inspect this site. 1 operational entrance and exit huge safety issue. If a fire was to occur everyone would be in danger.
There's a girl with blue hair that loves it when people say hello to her, a little arcade gaming area where you can win prizes, a liquor department
Staff were lovely and helpful. Store was clean and they had some items I've not been able to get elsewhere. Also had some really good specials.
Great size store. Prices a little dearer as are all IGA stores, however some bargains to be had. Clean store with plenty of choice
SIMS is handy for our family. The prices are a bit all over the shop but they sometimes price-match. Best buy is Baker Bob bread.
Great staff. Always great service and prices are very competitive. I know I work for Woolworths. Shop IGA often as it's closer.
Always a nice place but can be a bit expensive like all supermarkets now. Love the meat section and specials. Staff are lovely
Amazing and helpful staff. Very convenient for people who live around the place. A little bit expensive but it’s fair enough.
Excellent service. Large store with great choice of products. The best deli with cooked kranskys for $2 each. BARGAIN!!!
No comminucations from anyone, tried to call numerous times but no answer, will be disputing the charges on my account.
Amazing staff, friendly and always helpful, best place to shop keep up the great work during these harder times …
Always good quality meat, fruit n veg, good selection of your fav specialty foods plus a bottle shop. One drive in.
Quiet in the store at the time. Good size and deli meats cut fresh. Staff very helpful and decent sized carpark.
Very helpful staff to find something I needed on my last visit, but bakery area can be empty later in the day
Very high prices, very good if you got plenty of money to throw away.. Who,s got that I ask??? …
Great classic IGA Richies Store with all the liquor and booze U need for a hot day @beach ️! …
A bit outdated compared to the big 2, no self serving checkout but still all the usual products available
Young girl on single register was pleasant and helpful. I manage to get all my shopping in the one store.
Best place go when only need a few items. Always has what I'm looking for. In and out without any fuss
Friendly staff, a quite a well stocked store. The fresh produce puts the bigger supermarkets to shame.
Good store. Shelves are always stocked. There's always great specials there. Friendly staff …
The Only place w/Lovely Roast Hocks & Kransky & salads ....yum...yum...Namaste …
Fruit and veg expensive. Meat reasonable staff always having a chat even when serving you. .
Picking up a few supplies. Not our usual supermarket but reasonable range fo groceries, etc.
Friendly local supermarket. Conveniently located no queuing has drive through bottle shop
I've been shopping here for nearly 20 years. The staff are great, helpful and friendly.
Shop to you for a long time never really a long wait at the checkouts. Great selection
I like shopping here , Always clean & friendly service I get from the staff is great.
Older, larger women on check out not very friendly. Some other women are though
Excellent as a small supermarket with good prices and a wide range of goodies
Great range of groceries.Friendly helpful staff.Chemist right next door.
convenient for bits and pieces but is more pricey than Safeway and Coles
It's good to go there regularly. Happy with the store! Thank you :)
Clean & Tidy, prices not bad. Most staff are ok. Long Live SIMS.
Very good range of items that we needed. Staff were very polite.
