Ashley is fantastic!!! ❤️ I cannot praise or be more grateful to have Ashley as my colorist!!! I always leave feeling renewed and fabulous!!! Backstory: I’ve been coming to see Ashley for years. Since the Pandemic I WFH, and moved 90 mins away, but still travel to the city once a month to get my hair done with her. I wouldn’t dream of another colorist doing my hair (or cheating on Ashley) because I have full trust in her and all she has to do is look at me and know EXACTLY what I need. Over the years working with Ashley, she’s adapted my hair color to suit my complexion, and slowly and gently adjusted the color of my hair and highlights to make my grey’s less noticeable as new hair grows in (she’s a Queen for doing this because my hair grows so fast). I especially love how warm and friendly she is! She really makes her clients feel like #1, and is genuinely interested in helping her clients feel like the inner celebrities they are, while also wanting to know what’s going on in their day-to-day. Ashley is one of a kind, both professionally and as a human. Seriously, if you got this far in my review and still reading just book one appointment with her and see for yourself. Once you sit in her chair, she’ll do her magic, and you’ll leave the salon with a million dollar feel!!! I have been a loyal client of Lisa Lord at Sam Brocato Salon since 2016, and I can confidently say that she is the absolute best hairstylist I have ever encountered. Lisa is a true master of her craft, and her talent and expertise shine through in every haircut she gives. One of the things I appreciate most about Lisa is her ability to truly listen. She takes the time to understand my hair goals and preferences, and then she works her magic to bring them to life. Whether I'm looking for a subtle trim or a completely new style, Lisa always knows exactly what to do. Her intuition and understanding of hair are truly remarkable. Every time I leave Lisa's chair, I am in awe of how incredible my hair looks. She has an impeccable attention to detail. I have never left the salon feeling anything less than amazed by her work. This is a rave review for Leah, specifically her work with GreatLengths extensions. I came to Leah around 2016 to remove extensions; I was taking a break after having had extensions for a couple of years (other stylist/salon). At that time, I had also just moved and found Leah by searching for “extension expert Manhattan” - and an expert is exactly who Leah is. I worked with her as my sole stylish since 2016; she won me over as a remarkable stylist and also a remarkable human being. In September 2022, I was ready to get extensions again and of course, would only consider Leah. This was my first time getting extensions put in by her and I was amazed by the precision work. Leah put in the extensions in a pattern specific to me and my hair goals - thickness vs. length. She also worked directly with my colorist Ashley to identify the perfect color. Together with the cut, the extensions are a natural extension of me. I tell everyone who compliments my hair that it’s extensions from Leah. Everyone is shocked because of how natural it looks and feels. I even sent my best friend to Leah to get extensions for her October 2022 wedding, truly a reflection of this review. Big thanks to Leah and Sam Brocato team for a seamless process from start to finish! You truly know how to make people feel good!

I've been going to Sam Brocato Salon for about 6 years now. Not only do I get cut and color at Sam Brocato, but I also hired them to style my hair as well as my bridesmaids for my wedding. Mary is an amazing colorist and an balayage pro. She worked with me to gradually build my color at the pace that I was comfortable with. I get my cuts with Penelope who is always a delight and really listens to any concerns I have regarding my trims. For styling, I work with the talented Lisa Lord. She was amazing throughout the wedding planning process. She effortlessly made accommodations to my hair style during my trial. She was extremely easy going when planning our timeline and on the day of the wedding when styling 7 women by herself. I happily recommended Sam Brocato to friends and colleagues and have heard nothing but positive feedback. Also, I can't write a review without mentioning their products which not only am I addicted to, but I have created a monster with my mom (who lives 8 hours away) as well. From their dry shampoo to their hairspray to their gloss - we can't live without our Sam Brocato products!!

UPDATE: So I went back to see Victoria again and she did not disappoint. She is lovely and personable to work with, she took the time to see my hair in a different season and make some adjustments. Victoria understands people and artistic color. I am always nervous when I color my hair but she makes is fun and easy. A job well done! ***************************************************************** Victoria is a colorist who works wonders. My hair, bleached by the sun, had me looking like a stranger when I passed myself in the mirror. I brought photos and asked Victoria (and Michelle) to make look like"me" again. WOW! They listened, they worked, they adjusted and when I walked out the door (in the rain) I finally recognized myself. Victoria took her time, explained everything she was doing and gave me the total glam treatment. The color lasted, never went brassy, and I can't wait to see her again. Thank you Victoria and Michele for taking wonderful care of me while in your chair.

This place is amazing. I’ve been coming here for maybe 5-6 years. Christie is a wonderful stylist. She always gets it right. Jennifer is a wonderful colorist. Sam Brocato himself is very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. He formulates the products himself. They all smell amazing. Over the years, I’ve tried more and more products. I love all of them. Favorites are: crown and glory hair masque, love lather shampoo, wherever whenever leave in spray (amazing), the promise land hairspray is a great hold without weighing down or over texturizing, and the sugar wave is great for a beach look. I can’t say enough great things about this place. From the ambiance to the reception staff to the assisting hair staff to the stylists and colorists right up to Sam Brocato. Never had a bad experience. Worth it. I moved out of NYC during the pandemic (now in NC), every time I come back to NY, I try to get in for an appointment.

After living in New York for eight years, I've been on the constant search for a salon that meets my hair needs. Each time I tried a new one, my hair color and cut left me disappointed. I even resorted to waiting until I visited Germany to get my blonde hair just right. However, I've now discovered my go-to salon. I scheduled an appointment with Victoria for coloring, and she's truly exceptional. I shared my preferences, and the results were breathtaking. My hair now boasts a healthy, radiant appearance. She also recommended hair products that have significantly improved its overall health. My haircut by B. was equally remarkable, and I'm sure to book with her again. I love Sam Brocato Salon. I have been coming here for 10 years. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by wonderful Front Desk staff and treated very special. The owner Sam also treats you like you are special guest. Then it comes to my amazing stylist Diana B who I have been seeing for 9 years. She gets to know her clients, their comfort level and is consistent every time. I thoroughly enjoy my experiences spent in the salon with Diana because I feel like I am spending time with a good friend who is an immensely talented colorist, knowledgeable about hair trends, performs precision haircuts and styles an amazing blow dry. You just trust whatever she is doing so yes my hair is in Diana’s hands. She is a true artist and you are transformed. I look forward to every visit. So this is a 5 star review for Diana! And Sam’s products are amazing.

I hadn’t been happy with my hair color for the last 2 years - something just felt not exactly “it”. I went to Victoria M on a “hail mary” and now will never turn back. Not only is she extremely talented but she’s a great and genuine person. I love her energy and always feel better leaving. Also major shoutout for never making me feel like “I have to talk” (im a talker) and it’s nice to have the mental break - although our conversation is always so fun I end wanting to chat lol. Nonetheless, Victoria truly cares about your hair but also your life and you can feel her passion. A note about the salon - a lot of Soho salons are intimidating, this is super welcoming and you don’t feel like you’re not trendy or cool enough to enter lol. Everyone is so sweet and makes the whole experience from entering to exiting wonderful.

The professional attention to details within a salon ensuring a positive client experience are clearly evident here! I felt both welcomed and informed by the reception staff upon entering and exiting. The space is relaxing and free from overwhelming distractions which I genuinely appreciate. As hair care professionals, Jinks and Michelle were great in communicating how they would process my desired outcome for an updated look utilizing divinely smelling products and detailed artistic techniques to obtain exactly what I had requested with this visit. This was my 2nd hair treatment done by Jinks and her innate ability of making people feel and look beautiful in their own skin does not go unnoticed amongst a superb team. The overall experience definitely had me gliding back towards my day with additional glow wattage!

I moved here from California and was bouncing around to random salons in the city trying to find one I was comfortable at. Victoria reached out to me on Instagram asking if I was interested getting my hair done by her. After reviewing the salon and her Instagram photos I instantly said yes! Since then I’ve been back to Victoria 4 times to get my hair done. She’s always been VERY transparent and honest about what she was doing to my hair and the price which is greatly appreciated. The salon itself is very clean and the staff is extremely attentive, even those who are not your stylist. From the second you walk in your are greeted with a smile and asked if you would like any refreshments. This is a very well managed and professional salon and each time I get my hair done my friends rave about it.

Ashley corrected my orange and yellow highlight nightmare I got from another salon. Ashley took the time to sit and go over what exactly she was going to do to fix my hair. The minute Ashley and I started our conversation I was at ease and knew I was in good hands. Ashley's work was perfection and she was so fun to talk to! I will recommend Ashley to my friends and family 100%! Ricky cut my hair the same day and gave me a beautiful cut! Ricky was very professional, taught me the difference between hair repair products versus products that add moisture. He was so much fun to talk to and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I've been going to this salon for 5 years now and wouldn't consider going anywhere else! Penelope is the absolute *best* for cuts, and is a magician at adding body and texture to long, fine hair. I always walk out of the salon feeling like a supermodel. Mary does my color and gives me incredible, natural looking highlights - it grows out without any obvious lines and it allows me to go a long time before having to touch up. Penelope and Mary are also just a downright joy to be around! The salon is clean and cheery, and all the staff is super friendly and professional. Jenna, the salon director, walked me through a ton of hair/makeup options for my wedding and made everything super easy. Can't say enough good things about Sam Brocato and their amazing staff! Five stars!

I went to the salon after reading the reviews for hair color and got an intense reaction from the products used. I had severe rashes and blisters all over my scalp, neck and ear. I’ve coloured my hair 5 times in my life so far and have never faced something like this. While colouring my hair, the stylist forgot to remove the glaze from a spot near my ear which I wiped off, and that part had the maximum impact. It was incredibly painful as well. My Dermat was surprised by this too, and I was on extremely heavy medication for a week. It’s been over 10 days and it’s still bad. I would have never expected a place like this to give me such a bad experience. I reached out to the stylist as well, and she just recommend I speak to a doctor. Really do not recommend this place!

I have been a client at Sam Brocato for over 7 years and because I get my color done every 4 weeks...I spend A LOT time there. The staff are always friendly, helpful and so accommodating. Kristen and Ashley are amazing for color! They know exactly how to blend the color to keep my red vibrant throughout the seasons. Penelope is my stylist...I simply adore her!! Whether your hair is short or long, curly or straight, Penelope's precision cuts are always complimentary. You will leave the salon feeling renewed and beautiful! SBs products are amazing!!! The color does not dry out my hair, despite my 4 week turn around, and their full range of shampoo and styling products are perfect for any hair type/ texture. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this salon and know that you will too!!!!

I've been coming to this salon for years. Mark and John James are the the people I use. Mark is a genius at color and I think of him as a painter. There is no color he is unable to do. I have gone through many different colors. He is creative and has been able to come up with new ideas. He is amazing. John James is is a master stylist. His haircuts are so well crafted. He know what to do with your hair according to texture and shape of your face. He is open to suggestions but will not do something if he doesn't think it will look good. The salon is very welcoming and comfortable. The atmosphere is very professional and friendly. They have many amenities and the staff is there to help. I can't see going anywhere else.

I love this place. We come from north Carolina and found this salon last minute in December; my daughter needed a haircut and we met Lesley. My daughter loved the result! We are in town again and made an appointment not just for my daughter but for myself, too this time. Damien was my hairstylist and he was amazing! So much knowledge and so caring. We can't find anyone where we live that does a nice job so making a trip here for a haircut is worth it if you want to feel beautiful and have healthy looking hair. Not only do they do such a good job but they helped us in choosing the right products for our hair types. Lesley did my daughters hair again and my daughter is very content! Definitely recommend!

Thank you Sam Brocato Salon! I went for my first quarantine cut after attempting to cut my own. I was pandemic-anxious, but all nerves were assuaged when I walked into the salon and Sean from reception warmly greeted me and gently reminded me of safety protocol. The salon is taking every precaution. It is SO clean and everyone is SO lovely from front desk to blow out. PENELOPE LOVE will make your dreams come true. She gave me the most amazing scalp treatment, cut and style (and talking to her feels like home, such an empath). My hair definitely needed some love, but she provided the safe, serene, and calm EXPERIENCE I was so desperate for. Love you, Penelope ❤️!

I am giving this business a one-star rating because I had an extremely unsatisfactory experience. I paid $52 for eyebrow and lip services, but what I received was a job that was far from professional. The quality was disappointing, and I ended up having to fix my brows myself, which I managed to do much better than they did. As someone who frequently travels for business worldwide, I can confidently say that this was one of the worst places I've encountered. Additionally, the staff gave off a 'mean girls' vibe, which is not something I would recommend to anyone seeking a pleasant and professional experience. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

I’ve been going to Sam Brocato for over 5 years and I’ve enjoyed every experience. The employees from front desk to assistants are so friendly, experienced and welcoming. You can enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of coffee while being beautified. Kristin has been doing my color since I started going to Sam Brocato. She’s the best! My color always looks amazing and fresh. I receive compliments all the time. Also for my cut, I have been going to Leah. She knows what style looks great on me and is able to make my thick hair have lots of movement! I would be in hair hell without these two lovely ladies and Sam Brocatos great products.

I love Sam Brocato Salon so much that even after I recently moved far from NYC I plan trips where I can go and get my hair cut and colored here! I have been going to Penelope for cuts for almost 10 years - she is simply the best. She will collaborate on any look you want and makes sure you're satisfied...but at this point I trust her so implicitly I let her just do whatever she thinks will be best. I get tons of compliments on my cuts!! I started going to Alyssa for color 4 years ago - she is also amazing, and does absolutely beautiful color work. Their customer service is top notch.

This salon also works miracles if you want to let your grays come in naturally and beautifully. I have been a client already for the last few years and we will keep coming back forever. When Diana Baksh moved to Sam Brocato Salon, I followed her because she is the best: a hairstylist of meticulous artistry, whose cuts draw compliments from strangers. Ashley Moore did a flawless color transformation for my hair today! I went from dark blonde with blond highlights to a mahogany red mix. I got my hair coloured here by Gaia Brogioni and had the most pleasant experience. The salon is beautiful and they do a fantastic job at making you feel comfortable. Gaia took all my preferences into considerations and gave me exactly the type of hair color that I was looking for. I was anxious before coming because I was experimenting with a new shade but the hairdresser gave me exactly what I needed / would look good on my skin tone. I am very happy, would go again and highly recommend both the salon and hairdresser :)

I returned to the salon soon after it reopened and felt very safe there. They have set up many protective procedures like having us wait outside on comfortable benches, a temperature check, plastic bags for my purse, and of course, plastic separating me from other clients. The stylists wore PPE. As usual, Diana Baksh did an outstanding job and fixed four months of neglect. She mixes the best magenta shade, tempered by a bit of orchid, and places it perfectly. Great cuts from her also.

I moved to NYC three years ago and needed a new salon that I trusted for my hair cut and color. I was recommended to try Sam Brocato Salon by a co worker and I have been hooked ever since! Love getting my hair cut at Sam Brocato!. I have been going to Penelope LeGrady for a few years now and she always goes above and beyond. Not only do my cuts always look great, she takes a lot of detailed time on my thick hair. The salon experience there is always fantastic as well (love that they always offer you a drink) and the overall aesthetic gives you a cool, downtown trendy vibe. Always a lovely experience here. My colorist does an amazing job and she's so fun to talk to. She gives me the best advice for keeping my hair at a good place in between visits. She offers amazing products for me to use. My stylist is also amazing and provides me with fresh and updated haircuts. The staff is always super amazing and makes me very comfortable being there, offers me water and snacks while I wait. They also play some really fun music!

Victoria gave me the best coloring experience I’ve ever had! I am completely blown away and in love with my hair. Victoria was very professional, knowledgeable and considerate. She went above and beyond as far as caring for my hair as well, giving me tips for treatment and care along the way. I have very long and difficult to style hair so I appreciated this immensely. Had an amazing experience with Victoria, she did an incredible job matching my roots to the color I originally came in with. She took her time and made sure I was comfortable. She also walked me through every step of what she was going to do and what products she was applying to my hair. She recommended I also do some highlights which made my hair pop even more. Jade is wonderful! I have thick wave hair. Jade from the get-go understood my hair type. She gave me an amazing haircut that looks natural but at the same time is stylish. She also asked me question to ensure she was understanding my concerns. Her blow-dry skills are fabulous! The blow-dry lasted several days. I have been going to Sam Brocato for over a decade and I always leave very satisfied from the salon.

I’ve been doing thermal relaxing and haircuts with Jessica at Sam Brocato salon for 16 years, and can’t say enough positive things about her. She is truly amazing at what she does, and on top of it, she is an absolute pleasure to be around. I get my hair relaxed every 8 months, and each time is about 4-5 hours - and I love my catch up time with her!! Highly, highly recommended!!

I had previously gotten highlights that I didn’t love from another salon and they had started to grow out and my hair was just kind of a mess. I went in to see Jen Jinks and she totally transformed my hair. She got it to the perfect shade of honey brown with great undertones. I’ve gotten a ton of compliments on it and couldn’t be happier. Such a gem of a salon. Would recommend to anyone no matter hair type, color, haircut, treatment etc. My blonde hair was extremely damaged and in pretty rough shape when I first went to Victoria. She completely brought my hair back to life and colors it to perfection every time. Definitely worth the money and time, this salon and Victoria are 10/10

I cannot recommend Gaia enough!!! My entire salon experience was so lovely and seamless, and Gaia is a color queen! She was so easy to communicate with throughout my color transformation, and she completely understood and delivered exactly what I came in wanting. I couldn’t have asked for a better colorist and am so grateful to have found Gaia!

Diana Baksh is THE BEST! I have been a client of hers for years and whenever I am at Sam Brocato’s they treat me like royalty. Diana can cut long, short, and her coloring is custom blended, long lasting, serious coverage for the gray. She is a versatile and talented stylist that helps my whole family (young and old) look their best.

Gaia is the best hair stylist I’ve ever been to! She is so talented and gets my color perfectly. I’ve seen her through having brown hair, blonde, and now copper and she has nailed every look while keeping my hair the healthiest it’s ever been. She’s so hard working and super detailed. Mime is a fantastic colorist ! I had an overall color with highlights, and my hair looks so beautiful! A bright vibrant red with strawberry highlights. She really put in a lot of time and was so kind, attentive and professional. The salon instructor was also very good. Beautiful salon in Soho.

Victoria was able to fit me in for a quick face framing highlight before my beach trip! I am really particular about my blonde hair color and I am so glad I went to Victoria! I already booked my partial highlight to go back for more in a few weeks because I love the color so much!!!

Victoria is an incredibly talented colorist! She touched up my roots perfectly and professionally, while bringing my color back to life! She matched the reds so well and the entire experience was lovely. I would absolutely trust her with any and all hair coloring needs.

Came for a last minute blowout and picked it because it was close to my hotel had good ratings. Lisa was amazing. She was efficient yet thorough and blew out my hair exactly as i wanted it - she even trimmed a few stray hairs at the end for me. Will definitely be back!
