If you're looking for a scenic and peaceful escape from the city, look no further than the charming little shopping village up in the mountains. Nestled among the trees, this village is a haven for shoppers looking for unique and high-quality items. The village is filled with a variety of cute little specialty shops, each with its own unique style and offerings. From handmade jewelry to artisanal cheeses, there is something for everyone here. However, it's important to note that these shops can be a little on the expensive side, so be prepared to spend a bit more for quality items. To get to the village, you'll need to take a very windy but scenic drive through the trees. It's a bit of a journey, but the views along the way are absolutely breathtaking. Just be sure to plan accordingly and allow enough time for the drive. Parking in the village can be a challenge, especially on weekends. To avoid the crowds, it's best to go early or during the week. Additionally, if you have your heart set on visiting a particular cafe restaurant, it's a good idea to make reservations in advance to avoid disappointment on weekends. Despite its small size, the village is full of charm and character. You could easily walk the whole village in under an hour, but it's worth taking your time to browse and explore. And while you're there, be sure to grab a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants or cafes. The food is delicious, and it's a great way to make the drive up to the village worth your while. Overall, the shopping village up in the mountains is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a unique and peaceful shopping experience. With its quaint shops, beautiful scenery, and delicious food, it's the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a relaxing day in the mountains.
It is one of the best places to go and do some tourism. I specifically like Sohum, merchants of soap, candles, and fragrances. Bluestone Candles have amazing variety, and I particularly like the Scented Lane candles's Australian Bush and Summer Days. The Through the Looking Glass second-hand bookstore - if you're after some classics, they've got them! Lastly, the cashmere shawls at Cachets are perfect for winter and high quality. Just be warned, go with extra cash because after your coffee, you will be tempted by these stores.
Miss Marples Cafe is an excellent scenic cafe with Gluten Free food and artisan chefs preparing every dish, cake and drink. The local stores all supply quirky and interesting day to day items to use as iconic memoirs of your trip. And there are delicious local foods from all over Vic to take home as well as beautiful boutique fashions from local artisans.
Great shopping strip with specialised shops, the products are all high class and mostly affordable for all the family. Everybody is friendly and great service, cafes tearooms and restaurant are there. If after a nice present for someone special, check them out. Happy shopping experience to be had.
You know I know it's a tourist destination but man, it's tired. The same old same old and customer service in each shop I went to was rather bland and just not enough food options. Cold, but no shops had the heating on. Best of all of them was the candle shop.
Lovely place with lots of good eateries and specialty shops. Very popular with Victorian, interstate and overseas visitors. Bookings are essential for many restaurants, including the iconic Miss Marple's Tea Room, especially at weekends and public holidays.
Great strip of shops , parking available near the centre . Was disappointed that the shops weren't accessible with prams but staff were lovely, offering to play with our young children while we browsed. We can't wait to visit again.
We went to look and found a few nick backs , then we went for a look to Puffing Billy , was not there for about 20years , very nice have to book a travel with the Train.
If you like exploring hidden gems like i do, you will like Sassafras Village. It is a nostalgic hidden heritage gem in the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges.
Gorgeous place to rest and revitalise as well as shop till you drop. Great unique shops and eateries in a lovely beautiful ancient rainforest setting. Xxx
Nice little village, some unique little stores and cafes, plus some beautiful trails nearby. And check out these park benches that are actually swings..
Great cafes, restaurants and shops, really friendly vibe and a beautiful spot in the Dandenong Ranges. The best destination in the hills.
Ýou will love this little town . Nestled in Mt. Dandenong. The town offers unique shops and restaurants also accommodation.
Lovely place to visit be family or couples or friends. Lots to see and buy and plenty of amazing eateries.
Lovely little village for tourists, but limited parking and the shops and Tearooms close very early
Lovely place. There is beautiful bonsi place there. Places to eat. And some other shops to look at.
A unique selection of curios and art, clothing, crystals and antiques. Something for everyone.
In a beautiful area, yet sadly, it's always too crowded. Impossible to get a table for lunch.
We like to come up here to enjoy the cool weather, amazing tea shop and a bonsai garden/shop.
Cute little shops that show the local artist work and beautiful plants also amazing set up
Had afternoon tea there. Their strudel was yummy. Very busy we were lucky to get a table
Bit of everything for everyone go early as parking can sometimes be an issue
단데농 사사프라스 마을~ 사람이 사는 동네는 아니고 관광지로 인해 만들어진 동네처럼 보입니다~ 그래서 오히려 전 볼게 없었어요.
Great variety of shops and nice vibe. Great place to attend in winter.
Beautiful place. Nice shops and beautiful cafes especially Ms Mapl's.
Poor parking, some interesting shops and sights. Bedlam on weekends.
