We were a group of 7 and were quite disappointed with our dining experience. At arrival, we were seated at our table and although there were only 2 other tables and 2 waitresses and 2 waiters (busy chatting to each other), we were not offered water or had our drinks order taken until 20 minutes later. Our wine was sitting at the bar for ages before one of the waiters decided to interrupt their chat to bring it to the table. I ordered the wine yet the bottle was presented to a male on the table. I interrupted and advised that I had ordered the wine and the waiter looked at me, ignored me and then proceeded to serve my male companion the wine and then proceeded to pour another glass to another male on the table. Basically, he assumed the men were drinking and the women weren't. I found this uncomfortable and had to specifically ask him to pour wine for both my mother and I. The food was sub-par, particularly the terrible pepper sauce smothered thickly over an over-cooked scotch fillet. That sauce would ruin any decent steak. The items we did enjoy was a zucchini entree and the seafood pasta. Everything else was disappointing. The lighting was bright white. The only wait staff who seemed to work was one waitress. The other waitress and 2 other waiters walked around and avoided eye contact. I wouldn't come again. Food wasn't worth the calories and the service wasn't great. After reading the response from Sette Bello, I felt compelled to make a few corrections to their response. The information they gathered was not correct. We indeed had to wait for 20 minutes before water was offered to our table and drinks order was taken at the same time, despite only having 2 other tables at the restaurant and a total of 2 waitress, 2 waiters and a non-uniformed lady who was positioned behind the counter who wandered between the kitchen and the counter area. I am surprised that Sette Bello believes this pacing is standard practice. We do not expect that wine can be served simultaneously as suggested by Sette Bello as it is not reasonable. However, it is normal wine service to present wine to the person who ordered it and to also let them taste it - this did not occur even though it was specifically mentioned to the waiter.

I went to this beautiful restaurant last night with a good friend and her son. The restaurant offers very comfortable ambiance and welcoming vibe when we step in. Not only is it located in a very convenient location off Springvale Road Glenn Waverley, the beautiful Itallain restaurant is also nicely tucked away to the side off a building off the busy road for easy and safe drop off access and parking,. Once we were offered a seat, we were offered a drink right away !, no waiting involved and the drinks menu was offered at the same time. This shows excellent and thoughtful staff training and attention to details towards customers' needs. The drink list was a good size, not too much information and simple enough with all the essentials. The waiters had a good knowledge of the menu when I asked for a drink , without making the effort to read the menu after a long day of work. The drinks came really quickly, even though the restaurant was already more than half full with other customers. As we sip on our drinks and chatted about what to order for our mains and entree, the waiter then came with the food menu. She mentioned the specials which offered two flattering selections, the pan-seared salmon and a wagyu steak. We end3 up ordering grilled lamb cutlet for entree, duck breast, salmon and a Gnocchi and a side of broccolini for our mains. To our delight, the duck breast was crispy pm he outside, succulent and tender on the inside , served with a yummy tangy sauce and some vegetables. The broccolini was served perfectly cooked dusted with fresh Parmesan and freshly toasted macadamia which totally nailed the taste and texture experience for me. A completely joyful dinner experience! Service was very friendly, precise and all our needs were met at the right time without any long waits. Best of all the pricing is very reasonable with large portions for hungry individuals. Highly recommended for all occasions, such as family dinner, functions or jsut a simple casual ngith out.

I finally went to this restaurant after my friend who went with my family last time said it was great but frankly i was very disappointed. We walked in and my friend said we had a booking, the older staff member said for how many and she said two. The younger staff intercepted and said they already have a booking. I think it just spiral downhill from there. The older staff member took us to our table, took out the seat for my friend but left me to pull out my seat. Whether it was because she was a woman, i thought wow. I had to call young staff member over to order our drinks and then the older staff member came after we signal to come over to order and did not mention the specials yet mention it to every other diner adjacent to us. I had to ask him to consider it. When we received the meal, we both tried to get the older staff member attention yet failed so i had to go over and ask the younger staff member to come over to fulfill my request. Its makes me wonder because my friend and I were dressed casually in comparison to other diners who were more well dressed that we didnt deserve to get the same attention. After we finish the meal, we decided to leave as it got too noisy in there and we knew if we were going to be attended to before, we have no such chance being busy. Good points, the bread rolls were yummy and so were the mocktails. The young waitress gave me another bread roll, which i was really thankful. Honestly, the service was quite average and the older staff member either needs to get some situational awareness training or apply elsewhere that is not hospitality. I work hard just to dine in somewhere fancy but need to get the service i paid for.

This is my second time at Sette Bello Restaurant to celebrate my friend's birthday. I was not exp eating much going there again as my first experience was a bit mixed. Service and attention were excellent. My host knew that I loved steak and insisted that I ordered the Wagyu steak which was not as good as steak should be. I have eaten my fair share of Wagyu steak slays coupled medium rare or rare but on this occasion, it was not tender. I did not want to disappoint my host so I said nothing since he came from overseas. However on this birthday occasion, we have zucchini flowers, lots of pastas and escaloppe of veal and all were really intensely delicious. The Italian female staff was really good and her recommendation was spot on. I cannot remember the name of all the pasta but de mare Bianca fettuccini, the spaghetti weigh various mushroom, the pasta with lobster sauce, egg were all very delicious, so said all of us. The bread was really good so we asked for more to soak up all the different delicious sauces. We were so full that we could have any dessert as three was an ice cream birthday cake as well. I know know Sette Bello is the place to go for pastas and may give the steak a try again in future to make sure that my review was right or wrong about the Wagyu steak. I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Good food. The arancini balls were fresh and crispy,the lobster roll was so good that it took me straight to Boston. The seafood pappardelle was delicious as was the ravioli. The risotto was too oily. We have had Italian food before and we know its on the oily side but there was a deep puddle of oil and could not finish the dish. We fed back to the waitress who seemed tired and disinterested. She said she will get back to us after talking to the chef and never did. Our experience was ruined because of this particular waitress with an indifferent attitude.the desserts were good but I was disappointed with the tiramisu,my expectations were high when eating at a highly rated Italian restaurant, I guess the coffee in the coffee soaked sponge was odd tasting. I would recommend this to anyone except for the issues we had as mentioned above. I am hoping that these inconsistencies are not repeated and I won't take away the fact that the food was quite good.

It could barely fit all our dishes. Food wise, very mediocre. Pappardelle was nice but it had shell in it the steak was burnt and tasted bitter. The mash potato was grainy. Overall, poor service, overpriced and mediocre food quality.

A disappointing evening. We had to wait 1/2 hour to get a drinks order taken for our guests and over an hour finally got just 1 dirty menu for the entire table. At this stage the manager FINALLY told us they were short staffed. If he would have just stopped chatting and trying to be OVER friendly with customers, he may have been able to help provide a better level of service. On the food side, entrees were good and served hot but the mains were all left so long waiting to come to the table, they were just warm. Suggestion: Clear the junk stored behind the screen beside the bar. Customers don't want to see that in a "Fine Dining" establishment.

We have been going there ever since they have opened. We have always had very high quality and tasty meals. Last night we had dinner with 2 other couples as usual the food quality was great. However the service was absolutely terrible. It seemed they were short staffed and no manager to be seen. The staff there were doing their best but their inexperience showed and we on numerous occasioned had to get up to approach them as they were rushed off their feet and ignored our arm waving to get their attention. They are on the expensive side for meals and in the past we didn't mind paying the prices, but when the service is so poor you start to question if it was worth it. We probably will not go back unless they address the service issue.

Very disappointed with the food on my 3rd visit here! It was my birthday celebration and I felt I chose the worst dish on the menu! had the Orecchiette (pasta) with blue swimmer crab, prawn bisque etc as my main meal! Minimal amount of the crab in a whole lot of pasta and I couldn’t taste the prawn bisque! My 2 friends were happy with their pasta and risotto dishes. For dessert I had the tart which which like working through cement! How could you get it so wrong with the pastry? I did discuss my disappointment with the pasta dish with our service attendant who said she would pass on my comment to the chef!

Had an enjoyable meal with my family here during a Sunday lunch time. The restaurant was busy in a way that gave it a great, warm atmosphere. I had the nduja pasta and my husband had the lamb shank and shared the cauliflower salad, as well as the squid for entree. All meals were delish! And the squid in particular was a very generous serving. The menu is a good mix of more classic dishes and something for the more adventurous. And staff were attentive and friendly. Would recommend giving Sette Bello a go!

Choosed this place to spend a anniversary. Very average food, there is grits in my seafood spaghtti, dont know if its a sand or broken shell. And it is disgusting when found a drowning insects at the bottom of my mocktail when i finish it. Waitress is lack of training, obivously it's unprofessional to saying “i ll take it away from you” to a customer who just drank a whole glass of insect's bath water. The solution provided by the diner is just take out the drink from the bill. We even havent heard a sorry until we left. Definately not recommanded.

Sette Bello has made it's mark as an Italian restaurant since 2009. Chef Joe Di Cintio is no longer there but Sette Bello is keeping up the reputation of serving fine Italian cuisine in Glen Waverly. On a recent visit I enjoyed a top three course a la carte dinner. Marinated olives, Lobster Mac and cheese croquettes and the Asparagus tart. For mains I opted for the Rigatoni alla Norma while my partner chose the Morton Bay Bug papperdelle. All produce was fresh, beautifully prepared and presented. The service was surprisingly quick for a busy Friday night. Highly recommended

A very beautiful place I have chosen to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Fine dining setting and environment but with a rather affordable price in my opinion. The food is so delicious, I’ve been seeking chance to go back again. The spicy Italian sausage is yummy, firm in texture and that hint of spiciness was just great. Crispy pork was introduced by lovely hostess and it was a bang! Our main was spaghetti but it was finished in no time therefore there was no picture for it. We ended the night with half dozen of oyster and a tiramisu! Overall a lovely celebration for my wife and my wife enjoyed it to every bit.

We enjoyed a delightful experience for a birthday dinner for two. The menu choice selection was varied and our meal choice did not disappoint with all dishes being delicious. The service by Mark and MS was also attentive. Would highly recommend this venue. Customer satisfaction. We will be back !

Went across recently for a surprise birthday with some friends. The service at the restaurant was fantastic with attention to detail. The food from entrees which were the aranchini, oysters and chilli prawns were fantastic. The mains of gnocci (4 cheese), lobster prawn pasta and the seafood linguini that was on the specials for the day. Desserts were amazing with the tiramisu which is definitely one of the best we've tasted. The special dessert of the day of chocolate tart and blood orange was simply divine. If you get a chance do visit them.

Great good, I enjoyed the quality of produce, great taste and presentation. Service was pretty decent, not amazing but you could tell the staff were training and just need more experience to perfect it. Worth visiting for a group function if that's what your looking for.

Good restaurant located in a business park location, but don't let that put you off. Went for lunch and the restaurant wasn't busy and so service was good without being obtrusive. The moment you walk in, you're made to feel like you're at home. Awesome service provided by Peter and Marco. Classic simple flavours. Had the fish of the day whole baby snapper was amazing the rosemary and the beurre blanc sauce was to die for. I've seen some complaints about the price of the food provided but $42 for a dozen oysters and $38 for a whole snapper is reasonable for the quality of the food. 5/5 from me will definitely be back.

Wonder Italian restaurant with top service. The waiters are all knowledgeable and know the menu really well. The food is really delicious, and make sure to consider the specials. It is always quite booked out so booking is essential to avoid disappointment! It is a very busy and bustling restaurant that stands alone amongst office buildings. For some lovely fine Italian dining, I would 100% recommend it.

Italian restaurant nestled amongst a business district near Brandon Park. Have been here a couple of times for both a weekday lunch and dinner. It seems popular for business diners. The food is creative and tasty. Service is always friendly and helpful. There is also a long room at the back which can cater for small functions. One of Melbourne’s best Italian restaurants in the suburbs.

Had a work function and the food was great I had the steak and oysters with creme brulee for dessert. Steak cooked to my liking and oysters was awesome. My colleagues had the calamari which they said was fantastic.

The waiters and waitress es know their menu and wine list, remember your name and serve your food according to your sitting right at the first time, without interrupting your conversation with friends, amazing! And the food is prepared just as what you would expect from a sophisticated Italian restaurant. Recommended for business as well as romantic dinner.

Food was great and well priced for the quality. But the absolute winner here is the service. It was attentive without being overbearing, yet also felt genuine. Small extra touches by all of the servers made all the guests feel welcome. 10/10 and will definitely be back in the future.

We really enjoyed our food albeit it was a little salty. Can’t fault with the service and ambience of this nice little suburban restaurant. The lady who served us was very friendly and helpful. She helped to choose our entrees and they were great picks. This is the third time I’m patronising this restaurant and it won’t be the last.

Probably the best Italian restaurant anywhere in the area. Food has been reliably good for years. Comes with a price tag but good for a special occasion. Service is prompt and professional. The only thing is that it gets very busy and noisy with chatter. Not great for talking or relaxing. Recommended for the occasional night out.

I'm a person who loves great customer service. Don't care if it's a drive through, or a hatted restaurant. At Sette Bello, I was treated like a rock star - and so was every other person in that Sunday lunch service. Oh, and the food and wine selection was pretty good too

I must say that for local east/south east area, this is as good a resturaunt you can go to when it comes to service, presentation and food. Staff were very friendly and all the meals were impressive. 4.5 stars*** Welcomed into a very bustling and neat dining area. Both the service and the food was excellent with dishes coming out relatively quick. The Gippsland Steak was a highlight - cooked as requested as well as the Ravioli; just melts in your mouth. Can’t say a bad thing about this joint really.

Has always been our go to restaurant for taking clients to lunch PRE-COVID days. So glad we're finally back to normal and can now once again enjoy a delicious meal accompanied by a lovely glass of wine here! Food and service always superb! Oh did I mention the freshly roasted steamy bread rolls?

We all had a great time here, the foods are delicious, California Chardonnay is so smooth and Italian beer is good too. The services are exceptional, they explained to us all menu, and picked a good food combined with wine/beer. 10 out of 10 for food service, we definitely come back next time.

We came here the night before lockdown. A hidden Gem in the suburbs. Staff were knowledgeable and attentive. Excellent food and friendly service and vibe. My partner and I had the set menu which was impressive. Cocktails area also delicious. A 10/10 experience. Great italian food.

The waiters and owners were really nice on arrival. Customer service and the experiance is perfect and one of a kind. The food was made perfectly and the amount served leaves you feeling not too full and not to empty. The desert is also great. Overall great place to eat out at!

Service was slow. Ordered the duck - very average. Lamb tenderloin was just ridiculously dry, looked like it was microwaved. I really wanted to enjoy the food, but was immensely dissapointed. Would not return or recommend

List a 10pm close on a Sunday. We turned up at 8pm and got turned away as they’d already closed the kitchen despite restaurant still being busy. We would have spent over $100 and it wouldn’t have taken the chef longer than 20 mins to cook our meals. Their loss. More

Fantastic food and service. Barely noticed any waiting time because the atmosphere was wonderful and entrees came out immediately. Never had to wait for wine or water refills and barely even noticed service staff when they were around.

Hidden away restaurant and the ambience is good as well as service but we found that all 3 mains we ordered were quite salty. I don't know if it's just our taste but was significantly saltier than our usual experience at Italian places.

All I can say is that you had better book way in advance before even thinking of eating at this gem of a place as it is always packed to the rafters. It doesn't matter what you order at this fine Italian restaurant it's absolutely

Love this place. We went for my wife’s birthday and they really looked after us well. Food and service are fantastic and the wait staff are traditional waiters who know their food and wine.
