Everything on the website is OUTDATED! My cousins & I visited on 9/30/23 to play POOL. To our dismay, when we arrived, there weren't any pool tables. They guy who worked there said that the new owners hadn't updated the website, so we could bowl, but the lanes were full. I let him know that when I called them earlier that to confirm whether or not we needed a reservation, the recorded message stated that it was a "first come, first served" gaming. He let us know that we could wait for open lanes. At that point, we were upset since information online was incorrect & information on their recorded message was incorrect!!!! We started to leave, but there was a bar & outdoor seating. We ordered drinks that were amazing. The bartender was friendly, and the food was to be expected. When the lanes became available, we didn't play. We stayed from about 4pm to 8pm on the patio and had a great time outside.
Always a great time . Managers Micheal and Manning and Vic always make each visit fun . You have a option of Shooting Pool or you and your family or friends can have a night out Bowling . Yes there are Bowilng lanes . The food is another great part and the Drinks specials are always great as well . There Is plenty of free parking . So you dont have to stop having fun to go pay the parking boxes . . ALSO the Craft Beers on tap are always changing so you always get a new selection to choose from . This Hyde Park Neighborhood Sports Bar is always the ideal place to go . Plenty of TVs as well to watch all your sports throughout the year.
I love how you use a card to pay for your games. The shoes are included in the price per game. The bowling shoes are on a wall for you to grab yourself. It's a flat fee of $5 per game. You go at your own pace. Plenty of drinks options. The food menu is literally fries, chicken wings, chicken tenders and burgers. They staff were friendly and professional. And it's first come first served. They don't take reservations.

The Customer service is Horrible from the Manager down to the Servers.. I wouldn't recommend this place to Anyone. Rebecca was our server and she literally have us our appetizers and that's it. Never brought us our entrées or the check and when we asked to speak to the manager he completely blew us over and asked for payment for the appetizers he wasn't sincere or accommodating at all. We then waited another 2hrs for an available lane and when one did become available they let another group go ahead like really? I don't recommend this place to anyone. The experience was just horrible.
It was horrible!! The service is bad my waiter Rebbecca literally came to the table for a few mins, gave half of us our food another person had to ask for their food(30 mins later) then had a attitude. After that we didn't see her anymore, and the manager is no better. Did I mention theirs only 5 bowling lanes. We asked for a lane at 745, someone came to us at 1030 this place is so unprofessional, DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! The bar is the only good place. Lastly Rebecca came when we paid for our checks asking us if we wanted a water after all that time.
I've been bowling on and off pretty much my whole life. Bowling equals good clean cheap fun usually. This place tried to charge us $60 per hour to bowl on what looked like fairly common if not mediocre Lanes. What I should have done is a 180 as to speak to management and tell them in a fun entertaining and humorous way how wrong that is lol this place has almost too much to learn about right from wrong. $60 an hour? Freaking larceny! LOL take a clue pill 7:10, better yet gobble up a whole bottle because you need it a heck of a lot more than I need to bowl LOL
The waitress was the only thing good about this place...food was under cooked and manager doesn't appericate his customers...He wanted to only recooked what we didn't eat, when we order over 16 wings that came with a platter he literally counted out that we only ate 4 wings all together because we each ate one...I will not be returning the this place...because of poor manger skills and his decision to literally count out ate food and think we didn't need a redo on our order...thank them for letting me leave hungry and looking for another place to eat...
If you have kids wanting to try bowling, go somewhere else. The equipment fails frequently and you'll spend a lot of time waiting for staff to come and retrieve your ball, etc. We reserved an hour to be sure we'd have an hour of fun with no waiting. It was an hour of waiting on malfunctioning equipment. The staff is just there to collect money: they know the bowling is a rip-off and make no pretense of offering a square deal. We live close by but next time we'll travel across town for bowling equipment that works.
Hyde Park Sports Bar, with Bowling! I'm glad my neighborhood has added a few fun bars and restaurants. One that's been around for a few years is still fun for a variety of ages, perhaps due to the bowling alley. It's on 55th Street near the University of Chicago's sports complex. The bartenders are friendly, the food is traditional bar fare (wings, nachos, etc.), and the drinks are good. Have a margarita or a beer while enjoying the game. We were there recently to watch March Madness!
We hosted a group of approximately 20 people here for a happy hour mixer. The staff went above and beyond to accomodate us. Pascual M was our server and exceeded expectations by keeping track of two different tabs (for two different groups), and consistently updating us of the current bill for the tab since we we had a limited amount of money designated to spend at our event. This was a great experience and I would definitely host another event at Seven Ten.
The food and consistency is great. When I go in i know what to expect and I really like that. The staff is cool too. Their online is a little difficult (uber eats). It's just a bit too high to eat all the time. The drinks are strong and full of variety, which I love. Once again nothing negative to say but its just not a 5 star. Not bad at all. I've yet to play pool or bowl there we really just go there for the food.
The heat was off and I came here for my granddaughter birthday, was very disappointed that they were even open, was informed yesterday that the heat would be on prior to me making a reservation for her family and friends coming here what does horn yesterday that they heat would be on prior to me making a reservation for her family and friends coming here by. Then my food order was incorrect. VERY, VERY NOT HAPPY
First and foremost, my friends and I sat for 30 mins before we flagged down someone to take our order. Secondly, there was a bug in my drink. I asked to see the manager, not to complain because s*** happens, but to make sure I wouldn't be charged for it. When the waiter brought the food he brought a replacement drink. I told him I didn't want it. When the bill came, they still charged my for the bug.
Great place to catch up with friends for drinks, esp during televised sporting events. Good for both a first date or a post softball game defeat beer wallowing feast. They have several pool tables. Cool servers. Call to reserve bowling alley. The food is good and reasonably priced. The bartenders are very nice and they know how to mix a drink. There is paid parking in an adjacent garage.
Maybe the best place to grab a drink in Hyde Park right now. Not really many options but still it is a great option. They have a decent selection and variety. The staff is always extremely nice and helpful. Food is pretty good. A little better than typical bar food. There is also bowling and pool which is nice to just get out of the house an do something fun!
It's a nice place to bring the kids and family to shoot pool and Bowl but they do need to upgrade their menu they need more varieties of drinks they need to get them a blender so they can make Frosty drinks and they truly do need to upgrade their menu regarding the food and drinks and they need to fix them pool table pockets other than that I give it a 3-star
The food here is good and reasonably priced. It's mostly American, like burgers and standard appetizers, but they also have a respectable selection of healthier sandwiches and salads. They offer pool tables for $15 an hour, and as you might expect from the name they have bowling. They also offer quite a few drinks, some of which are pretty interesting.
Great place with great bowling but terrible service. If you'd love to bowl but don't care if you ever receive drinks or food or waitstaff ever comes back to check or refill waters, please go here. You will get exactly what you asked for. Oh and there's gratuity for large parties so waitstaff will not care about making sure you are taken care of.
It was a really cool and chill place to go. Love the bowling coordinator I think his name is Angel. Really respectful, friendly, really fast responding and overall a happy person. Recommend this place 10/10. The price is reasonable but will still have a lot of fun there. Food could use some work but still very good. …
A retro bowling alley with well-kept old equipment. Seems like a blast from the past writing your scores with a pencil and paper rather than on a computer screen. The music is retro as well. Good beer selection, yummy apps, and super friendly service. Would come back here again next time I'm in Chicago!
The 4 stars is for the bartender. Loved him. I guess he normally works days but was there on a Tuesday night. Did everything to make me comfortable... outside sign was small so it was hard to find the place. Drinks were expensive for the area. But the bartender made it worth it. Wish I got his name.
Went there for a Bowling night and was disappointed. Small bowling space and no score board. Pencil and paper are a real hassle when you've been drinking and just wanna have fun. Also, the waiter and other staff didn't seem to know how to separate a bill. On top of that we were double charge.
Wonderful local establishment! It's a great bar with excellent and dynamic beer list. But they also have wonderful pub food options, and plenty of healthy stuff, too! I love the avocado-mango salad! But best of all, the service is fabulous and it is rarely crowded. The bowling is fun, too!
This is a regular stop for me. They have whatever atmosphere you're looking for: waited service, bowling, billiards, sports bar and plenty of seating areas large and small. The food is good and the variety is decent. This is an ideal spot for meeting friends or a quick family outing.
One of the worse bowling alleys in Chicago! Not only do they have strings on the bowling pins but there were people in the back throwing the balls back up. Most of the lanes had malfunctions and we had to pause our game to move to another lane. Terrible experience. I won't be back
The website says it closes at 12 yet they stopped selling liquor at 11:30pm. I asked did they call last call and he said yes but we never heard it. We think they were trying to hurry people out so they can leave which is wrong because if a place closes at 12 they close at 12.
Outdoor patio after work with colleges: fantastic. Lovely atmosphere, great staff, fantastic drinks, good app selection. Only recommendation would be to have some music on the patio too. Great spot in Hyde Park for a few drinks. Did I mention all the free street parking!?
Such a cool spot, the wings are on point, the chocolate milk shake with vodka is amazing too. I do warn readers that if you intend on bowling , please go on a weekday (Sun-Thursday) as it is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper (5/person/game) but on the weekend, each game is 60$.
I liked the food, but the service sucks. My waiter never visited my table after seating me. I actually had to go seek the waiter for things I needed. I realize they were busy but at least make an effort to explain that to me and I would be more understanding.
Service was great! I only had an appetizer but that was good and it came out fast. Only giving the place 4 stars because of the terrible ventilation. It was cooler and less humid outside then it was inside. I did not bowl so I cannot comment on that aspect.
We had a good time. They charge by the hour and not by the game which can be kind of pricey but it was cool. The cost was $25/hour and $3 for shoes. It was a last minute, what is there to do in Hyde Park right now decision but I would definitely go again.
The food is okay. Nothing gourmet but filling. They provide big portions and the service is decent. The drinks are strong. Bowling could be way better. It's not automated score so you have to keep track of it on your own. But it's fun and spacious.
This place is incredible, especially for events. We rented the whole back area for bowling for a company party. It was SO adorable. Manny was absolutely AMAZING to work with as an event coordinator (honestly he’s a lot of what made this
We only Bowled. But the lanes were repeatedly malfunctioning and they wouldn't credit us time or money for it. Also, the Pool Tables and the menu were too expensive. $16 for 3 Tacos and $12/hr for the Pool Tables??? Too high for me......
I had high hopes for the new bar, sadly not met. Despite two bartenders working we had to go up to order and pay. PerhPs because bartender was more interested in hanging out with his friends. Cocktail was disappointing and over priced.
If you like old school bowling...keeping your own score with pencil and paper... this is the place for you. My ball got extremely dirty! Paid $9 for a small glass of wine that wasn't even good. Needs serious updating for me to return.
wildly bad service imagine paying for a an amount of time and being unable to do anything waiting for workers to fix the bowling lanes you rented and still being charged for that time. clever hustle not getting what you paid for and
Terrible service. Took too long for the order of drinks to come and for the next round the waiter was no where to be found. He didnt come to check up to see if we needed anything at all. My bf had to go find him to get his attention.
Not terrible. The chicken fingers are pretty damn good. Pricey ($10 for a mixed drink, $13 for most plates). Service is always super slow. They have outdoor seating, billiards, and if you want to bowl there's not any other options.
Good beer, reasonable prices, friendly staff and plenty of tables and lanes open. I would go five stars, but it was a Tuesday night. I feel like I need to see them on a weekend to justify 5 stars. Otherwise, I can safely recommend!
A terrible rip off for the price with tech straight out of the 70s, the food is alright but too expensive for what you get. Charges for shoes and has hidden fees. For the price, you think they would have more than paper scoreboards
$1 a minute to bowl and I felt rushed. Ball constantly got stuck in the back and that took minutes off the game. Also, the pins are attached by string and the automatic scorer was constantly wrong. I won’t go back.
I enjoyed it . I haven't been there in years so I decided to treat my wife since it's one of her favorite places to eat. Long story short Great Service , Great Food Reasonably Priced for a restaurant in that area.
For a vintage bowling experience, this would be a definite stop. They also offer pool, as well as a very well-stocked bar. The food itself is also really good, and is served by a really great, friendly staff!
Food was awful with the exception of the fries which were at best okay. Poor service and a terrible dry environment. Honestly an awful experience especially when compared to its predecessor: Seven Ten Lanes.
Had an decent craft selection and reasonable craft flights. Bowling is quite expensive for the establishment to not have regulation lanes or an oil machine to keep the lanes appropriately conditioned.
This place was very relaxing and has friendly service. We came to have a burger and it was delish, even though it was a bit over cooked. The drinks were nice also! Have to come back and bowl one day.
Eat somewhere else before you come here !! Come for pool, the bowling and the bar that's it! You will need a drink after you eat their food to help you cope with what you just ate. Service is decent.
Good for large groups and walk-ins. Has ten pin bowling and billiard tables to keep you entertained which is great. Just not a massive fan of the beer and beverage selection. The food is just ok
The service was so bad we have to keep stopping people to get someone to take our order even though servers were consistently walking past us oh, the food was good but the wait was too much
Really a nice bowling alley and pool hall with great student discounts. Students avoid this place "for some reason." The beer list is good and the food is at the upper end of pub food.
Good place, nice atmosphere, good food... Service could be better... But all and all had a good time and enjoyed my dinner. Will definitely go back! #DateNite #seventenlanes #goodtime
The food was good, customer service was very bad though and our waiter forgot our drinks and our check. She also seemed to have just completely forgot about us multiple times.
I like this place but the staff and quality/ quantity of the food can be hit or miss. Saturday night....not going to happen. Wednesday lunch...probably a better bet.
Food is ok, but the atmosphere & location is even better. Fun place to catch a game, although could use a big screen or two. Bar, pool & bowling, need I say more?
Great food...the burgers, the fries..yum. The bowling alley is old fashioned, so be prepared to take your own score..lol. Nice atomosphere, and great staff. …
The staff was friendly, the food is good and came fast and the bowling lanes are quality. They did a great job of rehabbing this location.

Nice bar/pool hall. If you have small groups, they also have two great rooms with four bowling lanes each. Bowling is gonna be good for groups from 6-20 people.
Bartender left me hanging to wait on the Caucasian and Asian customers so that was not a good experience seeing that I placed my order before all 12 of them.
Love this place. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating to my gluten-free needs. They have a ginger drink with Kraken rum which is amazzzinggg.
A great place for pool. But the bowling lanes are dangerous because they are not oil properly. There were many dry spots, that lead to falls. Tvs were great.
Great place for spending the evening with friends playing pool or bowling. UChicago students get 50% off, so don't forget to bring your student ID with you!
This is just a great, unexpected experience! The food is really great, the bowling experience vintage and the diverse wait staff friendly and accommodating!
From the outside it looks small. You have plenty of activities to enjoy yourself. The melted (maybe it waa just melt) burger was very good. I will return!
The blacken catfish was delish, the perfect spicy and flavoring but not salty! A must try with string beans which had the right crunch and tenderness!
Great place on the north side of campus. Beer is good and food is fairly good and reasonable priced. There is a ton of pool tables and games to relax.
My favorite post game spot when I coached freshmen football at St Laurence. A couple of vodka martinis to either celebrate a win or wash away a loss.
I’ve tried twice to come here to bowl and there’s never any availability. They don’t pick up their phone to confirm any availability for walk ins.
The staff overtipped my card by 40% without telling me. Never even got a receipt of this, just saw the extra charges a day later. Keep an eye out!
Great place to visit alone or meet friends and family. The food is made fresh daily and taste delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Disappointed in the restructuring of the restaurant which seems to now focus more on brunch & bowling with a very small bar for evenings.
Had Cobb salad. Looked like it was thrown together n 2 small pieces of deli sliced turkey. Overpriced. Quesadea extra with chicken
Very accommodating staff for a bowling outing. Pool tables are nice, wish the lanes were automated points vs paper tallying tho.
Waiter was more interested in his friends conversation at the front desk than giving us good service but the food was excellent.
Go to place with coworkers. The staff is great, and the food is decent. Great prices on beer. The fries servings are ENORMOUS!
Great times , Great vibes affordable prices The staff makes you feel like a star World class service I can't wait to go back
Walked out because of how over priced this place is, to bowl it isn't toich but the food jeesh $14 for 3 tenders is a joke.
I went on a Friday after work, with coworkers; it was easy to get a seat. The specials were good and the food was good.
Bowling was fun but staff didn't do a great job of explaining where your Lane was if it was your first time visiting.
Their burgers are quite good and I enjoyed their milkshakes. Their bowling shoes sizing is a little off though
Our group had a great time at the bowling lanes. The staff that hosted us, Angel and Ever, were super helpful.
Good for kids. I went for a kids bday party. Thanks to the staff, they were really helpful. Food decent too.
Good times, friendly staff and very modern. Reasonably priced games and bar food. Parking was problematic.
The food was ok but the price was too much and There is a service fee they charged me 8.00 just too much.
Walked in very late. They have a late night menu. Very good food. No rush. No hassle. Reasonable prices.
Nice place to bowl or play some pool. The beer selection is nice and they server your typical bar food.
Nice terrasse. However, the service is abysmal. Almost militantly slow. The food is fine but expensive.
Great location, bowling and pool tables are nice. The food is great and the service was tremendous.
Good pub food and decent beer selection. A great place to hang out after work or on the weekend.
This a great place to be with family and friends. The service is great and the food is good too.
I hate that they charge per hour. It makes it very expensive. Otherwise great food and fun
I haven’t been back here since they got rid of the pool tables. BRING THE TABLES BACK!
Delicious and strong drinks, attentive staff, cheap pool tables. Great for after work
Worse bowling alley in chicago!!! Lane was not even and pins are held on a string
Good food, good drinks, great prices, friendly staff. Just all around good time.
Great bartenders , food options could be better. Great place for after work fun.
Excellent customer service, pretty good food and the spot is just chill and fun
Great place for family. Food is Awesome. The staff is friendly. Welcoming.
