If I could I would rate the liquor west 0 stars. This area is a multicultural place but why was the liquor employee racist. She is lucky I didn't catch her name but the lady with fried box dyed blonde hair and blue eyes. It's 2023 and it's time to stop being racist. Pretending the police are patrolling and saying it as loudly as possible as I walked around the store was so embarrassing even for you. Watching my every move and being passive aggressive okay cool but blatantly being super nice and not even watching white customers told me everything I need to know about the way you work and who you are as a person. IGA please double check who you hire as i and other australians regardless of colour deserve to be treated with respect and dignity in your stores.

A little on the pricey side, but nevertheless very convenient. Edit 8 May '22: dropped from 4 star down to three star due to following: The ball has been well and truly dropped with the availability of fresh bread rolls! The supply used to be excellent, now I could only rate the bread roll supply as very basic, often only providing a choice of two varieties of bread roll. Additionally I've asked for the supermarket (on two separate find any chocolate milk available. occasions) to stock chocolate milk in 2lt variety, I seldom. There is no formal feedback system available so one can request the stocking of items, or to provide constructive criticism.

What a fantastic supermarket! The renovations have improved this former Sim's IGA 1000 per cent. It carries a superb range of stock, and many prices are competitive with Woolworths, Coles and Aldi. Quality is way better than at Aldi. You'll find ranged items here that the other three refuse to stock. Worth a trip from the other side of town. West Footscray station is a 12 minute walk. The 220 bus to Footscray (and Sunshine) stations is a quick two minute walk.

Homeless people sit at the front of the store almost daily, had confrontation with a junky that was abusing his partner in the store. He come up to me while at the counter and said looks like you got something to say, hard not to look over when you see dramatic junkys in the store. Then proceeded to wait out the front of the store for me. Honestly I won’t be going back to the store. I was just on my lunch break don’t need that stuff!

The recent makeover is an absolute game changer for this place. Before these works I would have rated the place a 2 star. Only thing for me holding it back from 5 stars is the lack of organic options. For your average shopper, this place has everything. The staff have also improved out of site with the new owners and new look inside and out. Parking is still always easy to get close by and they are open late-Ish. Great for the area

Store is a bit of a mess due to renovating, so some products are covered in dust. I wouldn't recommend going unless you're in need of essentials. The customer service is lacking as well, I feel like they don't really care too much about their customers. I've also come across a lot of expired products, so be careful what you buy from there. It's a great location, but I won't be going back until the renovations have been completed.

I really enjoy shopping here! Sure, some things cost a little more, but I save money because I'm not tempted to buy a whole lot of stuff I don't need! The atmosphere of a smaller sized locally owned business is so much warmer and relaxed. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and provide great customer service. Why run the gauntlet of shopping centres, and big supermarkets, when you can support local businesses!

Store is a bit of a mess at the moment because they're renovating, but the plans look like it'll be very modern and cool once it's done. Unfortunately, for the time being all the stock on the shelves is covered with dust which is quite off-putting honestly. They have a decent range of products, and occasionally some good specials but are not always the cheapest option despite their "price match" promises.

The store stocks heaps of unusual products that you won’t find in coles and Woolworths. Great deals on lots of items although some can be a little pricey. It was my first time shopping here and certainly won’t be the last! The staff are super friendly and young man by the name of Oliver helped me with my shopping and was quick to answer every question. Will definitely be coming back in the future.

This is my local supermarket and I feel lucky to have them just round the corner. The selection is pretty good and the staff lovely, I'm super glad that the new owners have really put some love and care (and money!) into the place. I hear complaints that it's more expensive, but I don't think it's enormously so: I consider it the cost of supporting a local business over the impersonal giants.

I love this place but I’m afraid to say that the meat and some packaged goods are not fit for consumption. Either meat smelling off on numerous occasions or pizzas being sold out of date with no notification. I hope the standards can be lifted ! I’m happy to pay a little extra for the SIMS experience but not at the expense of my stomach .

Everything about this supermarket is 5 stars. Delightful produce, bakery and cafe food. Bread so fresh, you will enjoy those simple sandwiches again Clean and refreshing store. Staff are friendly and helpful. Gorgeous selection of those yummy dips and cakes. Amazing amount of parking in this conveniently located store.

It's my local and has everything I need. Has definitely improved since the new owners took over, and with the renovation they're doing it's only going to get better! I still go to Coles for certain items as they are definitely priced higher here, but overall it's fine for a quick grocery shop.

A great local supermarket with ample parking across the street. Well laid out to showcase the produce, easy to find items and a reasonable vegetarian selection. Liquor store right next door and a cafe which was closed when we visited around 5pm Thursday. Convenient ATM outside.

Feel of a country supermarket, same staff for years, incredible selection of cheese and gourmet European products although really high prices, still if you want something special go here!! 1 star off just because is that little bit too pricey to have for all my shopping

They cancelled my delivery right before it was supposed to happen. They could have given me plenty more notice and I could have made other arrangements. Then I made another order and an item was forgotten, and the meat provided was rotten. Avoid this store at all costs.

Way too many things unnecessarily wrapped in plastic like broccoli and broccoli and cauliflower combos. Some of which was on clearance from not being bought. It’s excessive and it would be lovely to see a local store show more care for the environment.

Used to shop here 50 years ago when it was an SSW that car park is pretty much the same as a very young kid can recall us doing our family shop on Fridays after dinner. Drove past today and brought back nostalgia. Can't wait to visit the new look IGA.

Awesome refit in this supermarket it's a shame that MOST of the staff know how to follow covid protocols and others have to be reminded. The deli is sensational and the carvery is amazing for dinner on the run.
