Went there in the winter to get my daughter's alignment done. I was recommended to go 1st thing in the morning as arranged. Upon arrival I was greeted by an elderly gentleman (I assume it was the owner) who unlocked the gate and was very unpleasant and grumpy. He was VERY happy to tell me he was fully booked (showing me all his booked papers) and my alignment wouldn't happen that day. I explained to him I was told to come 1st thing, and I waited in silence in the waiting room. He again reminded me that he was overbooked, and really made me feel uncomfortable. Reluctantly and bitterly, he pushed my daughter's car through. THE WORSE CAME LATER, when my mechanic had to do an oil change on my daughter's car and the Boots from the control arm were all twisted. My mechanic told me that whoever did the job didn't loosen the clamps therefore twisting the boots VERY badly. My mechanic promptly repaired it and I was disgusted at the whole experience. I'm not sure which upset me more the grumpy old man, or the bad workmanship. I believe the grumpy old man was the worse. IF YOU HATE YOUR BUSINESS THAT MUCH, THEN SHUT IT DOWN!! I for one won't be returning. Reply to answer: Staff changes is a poor excuse for bad service AND poor workmanship. Had the place been run properly, this NEVER should have happened. Also, I believe the bitter old man is the owner, not staff, he did open the gate after all!

Disgusting customer service from Rob. I brought my car in for an ALIGNMENT and they told me it would take 1 hour. Well I get no call so I gave them one at noon and was told that they could not give me an ETA as the workers were on break but it was getting serviced right away. I still get no call an hour before they close so I call again for them to tell me that yeah it's been done and they're waiting on payment. Why would you receive payment without telling me my car was ready? And then he sarcastically says sorry you didn't get a call and angrily hangs up the phone. Do yourself a favor and don't even bother with this place and their terrible attitude/customer service.

I went in for a simple safety inspection and made an appointment for 830 am I was greeted by undoubtedly the same grumpy old man from other complaints( so I highly doubt any staffing change), I have never experienced such terrible customer service. I was left waiting until 12pm for my 1hr-1 1/2hr estimated safety, and then when they were finally done the business card I got was for "no name automotive" I was told I could only to cash or e-transfer which I'm pretty sure is illegal as a legal business. I don't need a explanation as I would never recommend or bring my business there ever again. There's a reason they're 4.1 out of 5 but should definitely be worse.

I shopped several shops and Standard Auto Spring was the cheapest quote for a full front suspension replacement in my SUV. The work was done quickly and at the quoted price. I had the opportunity to speak with the owner, He came off as a cool and honest guy and I enjoyed speaking with him briefly. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Tom did forget to book me in but they were very accommodating and got my work done quickly anyway. I showed up to pay my bill with two screaming fighting kids and they gave the kids cookies. I'll be back when I need service and I highly recommend this place. Thanks S.A.S family.

I bought a used truck from Tom. You could feel good doing the same . I’m not sure if he’s the “grouchy old man” mentioned in other reviews. Maybe, but If you’re looking for a hug and someone to tell you what you want to hear this might not be the place. If you’re looking for someone to tell you the truth even if it’s not exactly what you want to hear at the moment and appreciate doing business with a guy who stands by what he sells and does what he says he’s gonna do then go see Tom. Buying a used vehicle isn’t easy. I don’t think selling one is either. Tom will hook you up.

Grossly under quoted on parts, and labour. Quotes seemed to change per person, per call. Felt like we were been taken for a ride for more money. Took over a month to get our car back. Staff member snapped on me when I asked about needing updates. We had asked several times due to finances being tight from covid, Christmas, etc. Ended up calling almost every second day or I wouldn't have known another few hundred was added onto our bill for parts we weren't aware we're needed. I understand they did the best they could during covid, but was not a good experience at all.

Honest people with some of the best knowledge around. If you want real people with real answers and real work, go visit them. I had a 4 wheel alignment done by another shop, they said it was good, went down the road with the truck, didn't feel right.... took it to Standard, they had to pull the frame before a 4 wheel alignment could be done. When I got it back, the truck was 100% and their rates were great!

I pulled in about 1 hr before they closed with spring and shackles I needed repaired off an old truck restoration project. Kevin the spring technician got me fixed up in less than 15 min. He answered a few other tehnical questions and I was on my way!

I used Standard for my winter preparations again this year. Tom was really great fair prices and awesome service. I've been coming here for 20 years, and it's always been reliable and trustworthy.

These guys are one of the few places you can trust when working on your car's front end. I've had great work done, and my father-in-law - a decent mechanic in his own right - swears by them too.
