Excellent way to get hassle free photo session with cherry blossoms - very few people and nice background of cute houses and a cathedral. If you are planning to get pics with your small kids - be prepared for them to throw your plans away since they will see the cute playground for younger kids and will demand you spend your time there instead of boring taking pictures with blooming trees!

Beautiful park. I came here to see the mangolia cherry blossoms a few weeks ago but sadly there aren't any of those types of trees in this park. I was misled by the internet. Still a great park though. Plenty if benches and trees

If you want to go where the locals go, visit Stanton Park. It's smaller than other parks in the city like nearby Lincoln Park, but Stanton Park is more inviting. It has an epic statue in the middle with open grass for people to have picnics. It has plenty of benches and provides the perfect local escape from the city.
One of the nicest parks in proximity to Chinatown to bring your dog or kids. Trees, grass and a playground. Just keep in mind it gets very busy when school lets out and the older kids don't always watch out for the younger ones. Great for cherry blossoms during blooming season if you want to skip the crowded Mall.
A small city square. Very pleasant and well-used. A small fenced-off children's playground (open to the public) is very popular with families. In the center of the square, benches encircle a statue of Major General Nathanael Greene on his horse. In days past, the surrounding neighborhood was known as Stanton Park.
Great park for dogs. This is where Suki and I go for doggy social time. The back side near the church is an unofficial dog park. It's not actually a dog park, but well behaved dogs come here to play off by leash with each other in the mornings and evenings. Suki will be there waiting to say hi to all passers by.
Nice park to walk around in, even in evening time. Pretty clean and well kept. From previous pictures, seems like it would be a really great spot to check out in the spring when the Cherry Blossoms bloom. Park itself is relatively small though - more so a quick spot to walk through or to set up for picnic.
Great park with lots of space, a playground, and interesting people-watching. Sometimes there are movie screenings here.
Playground
Lots of toys are left here for any kids to play with.
Restrooms
None.
Dog-friendliness
Many dogs come here.
It's great to find such a fun and lively park in the heart of Capitol Hill. Often a wide array of activities going on, with long quiet spells in between to just enjoy the park. 4 stars only because I've never gone to it to be there, only to pass through.
Great park to walk to, sit and sip a drink, chat with friends, bring children to playground, and enjoy grass and beautiful trees.

This park is really nice. It is close to the capitol and many other attractions throughout the district. There is a nicely sized playground, some walking trails and water fountains. There are are also some pretty good restaurants nearby.
I took photos of Cherry blossom here and it was great. I think this place was better than Tidal basin. If you are looking for less crowded but like a petit vide, this is it. I don't think it still blooms there but maybe try next year :)
Nice park. Not the biggest in the area but definitely not the smallest. It has a playground for the kids and lots if walking space and seating. Also it is a very calm and quite park aside from the kids playing. I like Stanton park.
Great green space in DC with a large play area for children! Lots of very large trees, plenty of benches for those who want to be surrounded by nature to read a good book, or just to rest a moment and soak up the atmosphere.
Nice little park to sit on park benches and there's a fenced play area for children. It's an easy 10 minutes walk to Union Station

Love it! Playground is enclosed by a small fence and it is clearly designed for younger children. My 2 year old had a blast there an everything was perfectly sized for him. Park closes at sunset
Cool place to visit, not much to it, gated play area for children, lots of room in the grass to hang out for lunch or just to relax, cherry blossoms are cool to see when they are in bloom.
A beautiful spot to see the with fewer crowds. The playground could use some repairs/more regular upkeep.

Whether it's work-from-home or a casual meet-up, this park is always the place to be come sunset. Butter & Wine is right there if you need last minute drinks or dessert.
Quiet spot to check out the cherry blossoms without the crowds. Small dog run area, fairly well maintained by NPS. Room for a few hammocks, beach towels, picnics etc
Nice city park with benches and plots of grass for children and dogs to romp around. Some trees so you can be in the sun or under shade. Great view of the Capitol.
Nice, quiet, slightly vintage neighborhood park with a small playground and lots of benches. Cherry blossoms are gorgeous for a few days every spring.
Nice park. Close to home. I don't think it has a playground for kids. Not sure. But it is a very nice park to take your babies on a stroller.

Lots of cherry blossom trees in this small park near the Capitol. Take dogs or kids for a walk and check it out!
Sweet little fenced-in playground for the kids and a separate area with shady benches for grown ups.
Definitely worth a trip to see this . Don't forget to take pictures that last a lifetime.
Nice little park to walk your dog. Lots of garbage cans, not much garbage on the ground.
