I recently had the pleasure of visiting Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park, Melbourne, and I can't stop raving about this fantastic facility! This stadium truly deserves a five-star review for the incredible experience it offers. First and foremost, the location is absolutely stunning. Situated in the heart of Albert Park, right beside the picturesque Lake, this stadium offers a breathtaking backdrop for any event. Whether you're here for a sporting event, a concert, or just a leisurely stroll, the serene surroundings make every visit unforgettable. The stadium itself is a marvel of modern architecture. It's well-maintained, clean, and spacious, ensuring that every visitor has a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The seating arrangements provide excellent views of the field, no matter where you're seated. Plus, the atmosphere is electric during sporting events, creating an unforgettable sense of camaraderie and excitement. One of the standout features of Lakeside Stadium is the superb organization and management. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with any queries or concerns. They go above and beyond to make sure your visit is as smooth as possible. As for the sporting events held here, they are top-notch. Whether you're a fan of football, athletics, or any other sport, Lakeside Stadium hosts a wide variety of events that cater to all tastes. The facilities for athletes are equally impressive, making it a popular choice for training and competitions. The food and beverage options at Lakeside Stadium are also noteworthy. You'll find a great selection of snacks, drinks, and meals to satisfy your cravings during events. The quality and variety of offerings add to the overall enjoyment of your visit. In conclusion, Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park, Melbourne, is a true gem and a must-visit destination for locals and tourists alike. Its stunning location, well-maintained facilities, friendly staff, and outstanding events make it a five-star experience every time. I can't wait to return to Lakeside Stadium for more memorable moments and events. Highly recommended!

Lakeside Stadium is a phenomenal football facility in a superb inner city location and sporting precinct that is home to most historic and successful club in Australian football (soccer), South Melbourne FC. The brand new and new only opened social club restaurant and bar area (named 1959 Bar & Grill) and the Lakeside Futsal facility really elevate this venue into a superb supporter and family venue. Given the level of activity at the stadium between football and athletics, it would be great for the state government to commit to a phased upgrade plan of the stadium to increase capacity, comfort and spectator amenities over the next 3-5 years. #FANSGRATEFUL (in advance)

At Albert Park for Greek Independence Day Parade. Roadworks and traffic all the way in. Chaos! It was not fun driving around trying to work out where to park. There was no sign to indicate gate numbers and our bus driver was confused. Took about 2 hours to get there from Lalor and thank goodness the toilets were close to the gate. The water at the lake is dirty..those birds must hate it! There was plenty of space to sit ans watch the parade and the acoustics were perfect! All in all great when you get there!

Like Central Park in New York. Wonderful tranquil place in the midst of city, place to do jogging, walking, and to have a picnic. Black swans and some other birds dominate the lake and are a beaut to watch. There are lots of sailing and rowing clubs that you can take lessons. Point restaurant is very classy. There is only a single cafe that is the yacht clubs to get a quick bite.

The track itself is fantastic, but the prevailing winds are headwinds and you’re often not allowed to use the infield for long throws due to the potential soccer field damage. The seats for the dried are also a bit far away from the track (big walkway in between seats and fence for the track) which seems to effect the buzz compared to the previous Olympic park.

Terrible parking. Took me 40mins to find a carpark. The line for the kiosk was a mile long so bring your own food & drinks. Leg room to squeeze through past other spectators is narrower than a 90s cinema. Don't plan on returning. Event planners should be smart enough to organise food trucks.

  • Melissa Hardy

Amazing facilities, open space, great seating. Lots of toilets more than at our NSW Olympic Park Stadium, and were clean most of the day. Children had a ball and were looked after at this great place during Nationals 10-12years athletics by their own team managers and many volunteers .

  • Paul Minton

Spent my 16th Birthday here at a Vfl game, saw many night games there too.Havent seen any Athletics there since Eddie knocked down Olympic Park, the best place for Athletics a real shame this was allowed to happen to such an historic arena.

  • simon briffa

Great place to go for soccer socially and a dinner if U wanted to friendly staff and people there. We held a few function there with our table soccer and it was great if U get the opportunity to go go check it out

  • Maria Ngo

A very impressive stadium with everything you require for an athletics event. High jump, triple jump, long jump and track all within close proximity of each other with good under cover seating available.

  • Aaron Carmichael

Excellent facilities and well looked after center field. Parking is where 'they' get you. it is expensive i assume to deter local businesses but hurts those who want to use the facility.

  • Jim Hopkins

The best athletics venue in Victoria, where Victorian and National championships are held. Great facilities for spectators and athletes, but changerooms and showers are hard to find.

  • Carol A

I didn't go to an event here but spent a long time looking around and seeing the scenery and the views.it was really amazing. Worth a visit even when there isn't anything going on.

  • Tim Lyddy

It's got a good track, good grass good facilities. The only downside is the shade. I often find the stands get too hot from either a lack of ventilation or a lack of shade

  • Hafsah Y

The place is very neat and has great services, as expected the canteen there has somewhat high prices but that was okay. Overall positives weigh out the negatives.

  • N Alexander

Well organised Little Athletics Vic sports meet last Saturday. Great planning job done by the organisers and officials in running the events. Well done....!!!!

  • jvt _93

Love the facilities here and have competed there multiple times. Always very fun and would recommend going if you need to train or there is an event there

  • hs

Historic and rustic, but limited facilities. A very pretty grandstand. Can be entertain to watch teams practice, or a cricket game from time to time.

  • Mini x2twins

Great facilities but for a child's event very poor...the canteen has only card facilities and food ran out very quickly. Everything very expensive.

  • Tim Mattingsbrooke

Easy to access via Route 12 tram. Lovely stadium to watch South Melbourne Soccer Club play with cheap tickets at the grond to watch the match.

  • Claude Castro

Great open space multi purpose facility that is well maintained and offers great viewing from most points. Plenty of parking available nearby.

  • Carl Evans

Great facilities easy to find and plenty of parking, just beware of other events on around Albert Park that may influence your travel plans.

  • andy symons

How dare you not accept cash from children at your kiosk!! It's legal tender!! How many kids do you know that have eftpos cards??

  • Elizabeth Ouma

  • Howard Thomas

Enjoyed the venue, good event. Looked like good facilities were available although not used by this event. Good sports stadium.

  • Adam Tiller

I don't like this venue for viewing soccer games as there is a multilane running track in between the seating and the field

  • Marshel

On a windy day it's very cold as there is no adequate shelter due to there being gaps for the wind to pass through.

  • Liam Whitehouse

This place is great for dog walking and relaxing with kids but not great for sport and relaxing just for your self.

  • Mark Gordon Mott

Adkins Albert Park this is one of Melbourne's smaller and more intimate stadiums. Plenty of nearby parking.
