"Neat, clean and can be seen from afar! I can see Waverley Park from Wellington Rd at Monash University! The stage that juts right out with the imposing light beams! It is great design for Mirvac to have the fields surrounded by houses and shops below the platforms"
"Waverly Park offers a beautiful oval surrounded by an excellent running / walking track as well as a fitness centre, hair salon, barber shop, beautician, dentist, convenience store and restaurant / coffee shop- The Last Piece"
"I had no idea the field was still there, as I always thought it was knocked down to build the town houses"
"I've seen the Hawks training here a few times, though not the past couple of years due to lockdowns and restrictions"
"I visited quickly to see clients at ricoh centre and the view from out the back is really great"
Neat, clean and can be seen from afar! I can see Waverley Park from Wellington Rd at Monash University! The stage that juts right out with the imposing light beams! It is great design for Mirvac to have the fields surrounded by houses and shops below the platforms. The field is kept so clean and well maintained! Thank you for keeping that oval in such prestine condition. I can see walking or running around the field all the time. This makes Waverley Park unique. Lovely indeed.
Waverly Park offers a beautiful oval surrounded by an excellent running / walking track as well as a fitness centre, hair salon, barber shop, beautician, dentist, convenience store and restaurant / coffee shop- The Last Piece. Home of the Hawthorn Hawks and their Head Office, Waverly Park also offers the chance to watch the team train in a great setting as well as a Hawks Merchandise Shop. Public car park and street parking. Wheelchair accessible.
I had no idea the field was still there, as I always thought it was knocked down to build the town houses. Boy I was wrong!!! The oval is still there and also parts of the original seating.. it's beautiful and well maintained. You can actually go there take your picnic rug and enjoy the afternoon with family or friends. Just not when there is training.
I've seen the Hawks training here a few times, though not the past couple of years due to lockdowns and restrictions. The pix I am posting were taken exactly 3 years ago, in September 2018. They have done up the amenities quite well. My sister and I attended the café as well and enjoyed good food and coffee. I'm hoping to return here next year.
I visited quickly to see clients at ricoh centre and the view from out the back is really great. I did not take a walk around but the playing field looks great and includes a lot of history. There is a cafe with nice indoor or outdoor seating. Houses are so close to the oval and the road with parking a bit hard but nice place
A great running track around the oval, be it walking, jogging or even on motorised scooters. The oval is excellent. Fully AFL specked up. Hawks often train here, and whilst they don't publish their training times, you may often see one or two familiar faces. Playing kick to kick on this oval is just brilliant.
Staff need to learn on customer service in all areas. From product knowledge, Hawthorn membership knowledge. Not a to be money grabbing store. When paying large amounts of money in membership, you would expect membership packages prepared, so customer can take it on spot. Improvements required in all areas.
Beautiful new upmarket houses in a safe neighborhood. It's the jewel in the Mulgrave crown. There is a park for kids to play with plenty of grass. The roads are safe and well lit at night. Then there's the stadium, it's iconic to say the least. Perfect for that morning jog or walk
I'm terrified of the dentist and had a tooth pulled from a dentist close to me (all I can say butcher) so when I range the clinic I went to hang upthe gentlemen on the other end was so good he kept me talking, he was so professional and
The last piece is a nice cafe, and the village store is great, but generally it's a very "Bogue" area (A portmanteau of 'bogan' and 'vogue'). That is, $200k cars parked in front of $700k houses with fake grass and stones. More luxury cars
Great place for a walk or a run. Friendly people and a great place to kick a football on the oval that is regularly trained at by the AFL Hawthorn Football Club. I love bringing my dog her and letting her run free when possible
Good stadium in it's day, now souranded by town houses kinda takes away the feel and soul of the place. Car park quite small but there is spaces. Awesome VFL champions sign, and the ground was very nice, thumbs up!
Great place and atmosphere. The Last Piece for breakfast is supreme quality in all area's from service, food and service. Thank you to the The Last Piece for a great experience to Melbourne and it's culture. Paul
This precinct is now a high density residential area surrounding the former football arena. I attended the restaurant that's under the grandstand, the rear of which overlooks the arena, and is a pleasant view.
Went for lunch with friends to The Last Piece. It was mine second time. Food & service was 5☆. Sitting outside with perfect view of the old footy ground, excellent food & sunny day - that was just lovely day.
Park was great, lots of areas for varying abilities. No fencing around the soccer goals near the skate park, to stop balls rolling onto Jacksons Rd, and the toilets were so disgusting they were unusable.
The car park is always full. I think the locals use it because their tiny houses don't have enough room for their cars. Some cars here have been sitting so long that the tyres are flat like in the photo.
Good to walk/run in a anticlockwise direction. When not wet the ground is high quality and quite good for individuals with knee issues. The outside walking track can be slippery when wet
Great place to walk around the ground or have a kick on the same ground where the Hawks train. Just need wider nets behind the goals so your footy doesn't end up in someone's backyard
The Last Piece Cafe Restaurant is lovely. Family friendly and welcoming. Recommend booking in advance as they are busy. Coffee was really good and the food was delicious …
Well organised and well done leanly maintained estate with lot of features for families and children. Conveniently located in close proximity to both highways and s hools.
Wonderful oval and park. I used to live in Waverley Park and this place brings back lots of memories when I had my children. The place still looks the same.
Great atmosphere however more and more estates and houses are being built around the park contributing to congestion, including traffic and lack of parking.
Now a high density residential area surrounding the original grand stand & oval. The restaurant there served a reasonable range of cuisine at fair prices.
A very high quality grass as this is training ground for Hawthorn fc. Great for kicking footy and any ball game. No cricket pitch and golf is not allowed.
Loved it... Hawthorn Open Training Saw all the players, jerseys signed had a great morning. Hawks Nest - Hawthorn Museum Go Hawks …
Beautiful part of our Heritage, you can eat at the last piece restaurant which is excellent overlooking the ground in the right seat highly recommended
Beautiful place to live. Shame about all the power lines not going underground as originally promised by Mirvac, but a great location nonetheless.
The Fish & Chip place here does great fish & chips, the owners are friendly as well & if your after a great feed come here as it is worth it.
"The last Piece" is a great restaurant. Nice to be able to wander out to the oval and watch young Hawthorn players training. Great setting.
Food and service great grumpy tall man on cash register must be owner as made no eye contact . If he was staff would have sacked him .
Home of the Hawks. Can be a bit windy and cold at times. Wonderful Hawks Museum and Hawks Merchandise Shop for all things Hawthorn
Great estate for families, plenty of open space, parks, a stadium and a lake. Good community feeling and close to Monash Freeway.
Nice to drop into the Hawk's Nest Club Ship and also take a look at Waverley Park. (Old Mr Jackson's Market Garden Paddock!)
Lots of groups of unmasked people around and carpark full are they all within 5 km of there home??? Nice in a lockdown...
Visited the cafe - The Last Piece - in the bottom of the grandstand. Very nice food, and you get a very sizable servings.
Still a superb playing surface, great for recreation or events, and a really handy running track around the perimeter.
I have only visited one business here and that was the restaurant, so I can not give a true rating for the entire Park
Well maintained and great for a run/walk. Also has some shops which include a cafe, fish and chips, barber and gym
Tidy and well kept grounds. Love how the oval is now integrated with the new housing and making it a local ground
Beautiful park land and an important part of Melbourne's history. The last piece cafe also makes a great coffee!
A great local venue for exercising, grabbing a coffee, or a meal. Also has the best fish and chips in the area
The current Hawthorn F.C training ground. The most successful Professional Club in Australia in your lifetime.
Great little cafe, easy parking nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The cuisine was simple but very well done
Always awsome place to go past brings back lots of great vfl memories and caffe makes great food and coffee.
Great park. The surface is very nice. No dogs on the oval means you don't have to worry about land mines.
Hawthorn Junior supporters day with my grandson. The pic should give you an idea of the temperature. lol
Amazing food!! You will not be disappointed. Beautiful friendly staff. A great place anytime of day!!!
Great place to take kids for a kick of the ball while you are at the gym or experiencing a great lunch
Great ground for running around. Similar surface to the tan in South Yarra. Nice area and good folks.
Easy to get to,parking available. Hawks supporters able to purchase merchandise and seasons tickets.
Hawks home, What's not to love when it comes to the most successful club since 1961! …
Beautifully kept oval open to the public, great place to kick a footy or go for a walk/jog around.
Good old VFL park - now the training ground for Hawthorn, and several businesses. Iconic landmark.
I visit the gym. It's good and the staff are helpful, although too many people use mobile phones.
It's good for a walk when no one is around. Although, the coffee shop could serve better coffee.
Great stadium when it was in full operation and miss the atmosphere of 75000 people at the game.
Last Piece cafe, great food, sizeable servings, excellent coffee, great prices, friendly staff.
Great place for both the adults and children. Love this venue. Great memories here. GO HAWKS!
Hawksnest staff were very helpful also a nice place to visit and reminisce after many years.
Great place to watch the Hawks train, grab some awesome food and coffee at the last piece..
Girls at the Hawks Nest were very friendly and helpful. Great advertisement for the Club
Hawks Centre good, bugger all parking, cafe good. Great to go for a kick with your kids.
This place is cute AF. Keeping a quarter of the stadium to show some true history :)
Great place for a cardio session and dog walk. Also had a nice gym and cafe nearby
There is a great cafe for lunch, dinner or just for coffees called The Last Piece.
Great Cafe, located right at Waverley Park, watch the Hawks train out the back.
Really enjoyed coming out here and seeing a little slice of hawks history
Amazing venue and training ground for the greatest AFL team of all time!
It'd be great if someone had put in some effort around parking design...
I hate this place, houses too close together, no parking, horrid place.
Went the last piece .very good .brings back memories about the ground
Had a great lunch here. Very busy. I suggest you make a reservation.
Interesting what's left of Waverly Park in amongst a housing estate
Enjoy your shopping in regional centre, not crowded. Its pleasant.
The grounds are always kept in great condition it looks beautiful
Great stadium and if you're lucky you might see the Hawks train.
Staff were very friendly and helpful really enjoyed the visit.
I loved watching Carlton and Hawthorn play here back in 1987!
Lovely oval, can kick a footy with the kids in the afternoons
Beautiful stadium, nice running / walking track around it.
Worth a look to reminisce. Even better if ur a Hawkes fan
great walk space, dogs welcome, just NOT on Footy oval.
Open for public exercise, needs more parking areas
Good place to relax with a coffee and do some laps
Beautiful place. Friendly staff. And lovely food
Great place to hangout and play any activities.
Great service Awesome food... though very noisy
Many a Happy memory watching the Hawks there.
wow. i had an enjoyment many fun on the oval
Excellent place to shopping. Many options.
It's a nice place but no where to park car
Nice pizzas but lack of quality service.
