Initially I was thrilled to support a firm run by, and staffed entirely of great women. Our lawyer, was exceptional, and had every confidence in her. We retained her to represent us at financial questioning, and also a crucial security for costs hearing. However, after previously confirming availability prior to retaining her, a scheduling conflict prevented her from attending our financial questioning. So we were without representation. Then at our costs hearing, a personal issue came up and she was last minute unable to attend. Thankfully their student at law was able to request, and received a three week adjournment. The day of the second scheduled costs hearing, another personal issue came up right before she was to appear on our behalf, and their student-at-law, stepped in on her behalf, (without requesting an adjournment and wasn’t up to date at all on our file). So they weren’t able to properly represent us, and we lost the costs hearing. (To the tune of a $10,000 judgement against us). So we paid thousands of dollars in fees, to get our lawyer up to speed on our file, and preparing for our court appearances, but then (due to personal emergencies), was not able to once appear on our behalf in court. So we are out nearly $7,000 in fees plus $10,000 for the court loss due to improper representation. We were very sympathetic to the personal issues our lawyer had been dealing with, but also didn’t believe it was fair to pay thousands for court representation that we never received. Not to mention the financial loss in court, which we feel never would have happened had our lawyer been representing us…because she is amazing. We asked for a call from the managing partner to discuss, who passed it on to their office manager. I asked the office manager to call me, who would only communicate via email. I spent months trying to resolve the issue with the office manager, (who only offered some minor discounts and wouldn’t acknowledge we only retained a lawyer to represent us in court, and all of the fees paid were for court appearance preparations which never happened), then failed to return my subsequent emails for almost a month. At which point I wrote, that if we didn’t receive any response to try and resolve the matter…we’d have no choice but to file a complaint with ALIA, (which was not at all what we wanted to do, and wanted to resolve the issue with them), regarding paying for services we never received, which was representation in court. Because I even mentioned ALIA, the office manager shut down all further communication. Even though we were being patient after being ghosted for a month and still trying to work it out directly. Even after this, we attempted to speak to the managing partner to try and resolve directly, but they refused. So now we are out nearly $7k for fees, to never have once been represented by our lawyer in court, and a $10k court loss as a result of their absence, and they will not stand behind and be accountable to what happened to us as clients who paid for representation by a great lawyer they employ, and never received it. So to say that we are beyond disappointed, after being patient, and understanding and trying to resolve directly over months, after we were so badly affected by the lack of representation, and zero acknowledgement of our losses as a result, is an understatement.

I received a recommendation for Stonetree Law when I was looking for legal advice on a Cohabitation agreement. My initial correspondence with Jennifer Miller and her legal assistant Brooklin was prompt and seemed promising. When I provided the information for review I did not receive any response until I followed up two weeks later. I received the legal advice I was looking for and requested some additional services. It has currently been about a week and a half without a response to that email or the follow up email sent after a week. After posting this review I suddenly received a call and email response with excuses as to why contact was taking so long. Jennifer also asked that I remove my review even though it is an honest review of my experience to date. Even though I had not yet retained Jennifer for additional services related to this agreement she was already talking about how she could fire me for demonstrating that I don't trust her. Due to the lack of communication I experienced, I would not reccomended Stonetree Law for this type of service.

StoneTree Law is not reliable or dependable. My family has been dealing with an employment case that was going very well under our lawyer at StoneTree Law, but unfortunately, they had resigned and offered to transfer our case to another lawyer at the firm. Initially this was no problem, until two months have now passed and we still do not know who our lawyer is AND the status of our case! We emailed them asking politely as to what is up with their complete radio silence; they responded by saying that they'll take a look and get back to us... two weeks later, still nothing. I'm very disappointed with my experience at StoneTree Law, as it has caused my family and I a lot of unwarranted stress and worry with regards to whether or not our case will actually be dealt with- let alone in a timely manner. I would NOT recommend anyone have their legal matters taken care of by this firm.
