"Very cool place"
Sydney Showground is a popular venue for exhibitions and events in Sydney. While the location is easily accessible and the venue itself is well-equipped, my recent visit left me feeling underwhelmed. The organization and flow of the event I attended could have been better managed. The exhibits were poorly laid out and difficult to navigate, which detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, the lack of seating areas and limited food options made it a less comfortable experience. That being said, the facilities themselves are impressive. The main hall is spacious and well-lit, and there are ample restrooms throughout the venue. The parking is also quite convenient, with plenty of spaces available. However, given the high cost of admission and the overall experience, I cannot recommend Sydney Showground as a top choice for exhibitions and events in Sydney. Overall, while the venue has potential, there is significant room for improvement in terms of organization and amenities. For those attending an event at Sydney Showground, it may be worth doing some research beforehand to ensure that the event is well-planned and executed.
The Royal Easter show was fantastic. My only complaint is I booked early for reserved seating and was given ticked up the back of the stadium. It is very dangerous to go up all the narrow stairs with a 3 year old. It's impossible with a pram. I booked early and paid to reserve, so it's very disappointing to get seats so far back I can't see anything. Due to safety and not being able to see the acts on the field, we did not stay for the show. So was a total waste of money. The food was mostly very good. Rides were way overpriced. Staff were all fantastic and very friendly and professional. Parking was a nightmare. Security was blocking a lot of areas you can normally park. Once I moved my car from miles away, we did manage parking later in the day for a $30 flat rate. All in all it was a good day and it's a great venue.
This is known as the GIANTS Stadium of Sydney Showground. I think this is one of the best sporting events venues in Sydney Olympic Park. It's about a few minutes' walk from the train station and bus stops. P1 & P6 are the closest car parking lot to the GIANTS Stadium; aisles 402. It's not a huge stadium but sufficient for watching GWS GIANTS' home-games. I came here for one of their home games, and I had a really good seat that had a view of the middle of the oval. The stadium has food kiosks at Gate D, merchandisers shops, and public lavatories with easy access facilities. You can purchase tickets for non-alcohol areas, and if you're in a wheelchair the ground staff are always helpful. There's no cloakroom during sporting events, but they have a few during other corporate events.
This is the first time we have been to the Easter show with the family and found its a good get away, as you can spend all day, because there's tons you can see and do. There's a lot of food, performance, parade, rides, roller coaster, bumper rides. My lil one enjoyed milking the cows, saw the horses, lil chick's, roosters and the piggies All in all, it is an expensive festivity as it can easily set you back between $250-300 Highly recommend using public transport as parking is $30 for the day and you could use this money elsewhere A good meal anywhere could set you back by $ 25 We stayed up right to the end and saw the 1000 hooves by the horses which is a show not to be missed and the Rodeo finally followed by the exhaustive fire works. Enjoy Easter
Very cool place. Wanted to go here for a long time, finally got to with Carlton versus Giants. Honestly a little bit buggy, some of the TV screens were stuffing up or not working, and there was only one working megaphone on one side of the oval, so the moodsetter was very lame as a result. Honestly moodsetters are always lame unless there's a huge crowd, which there definitely was not today. Also I'm not sure why the seats at one end of the stadium only go up one set instead of the three sets nearly everywhere else: possibly to make room for the unnecessarily gigantic tv screen? I don't know. Honestly I would recommend this place, can't give it five stars coz it's no MCG or Marvel, and it lost another star for not being in tip-top form.
Sydney Showground is at its best all the time especially now one of the biggest event only held there at the moment which is Sydney Royal Easter Show on its 200 years celebration of RAS (Royal Agricultural Society) 8-19 April 2022 so popular with showbags of all kinds, rides both kids and adult, different eateries from most countries, farm animals, dogs and cats shows and so many things to see, to do…not to mention the fireworks, and lots of shows and performances, highly recommended and close to all transports and centrally located to all amenities ^_^
August 2022. Seated in Section 202 Row A to watch AFL. We got a fair bit of the afternoon winter sun but it was quite nice on a cold day. Great seating from anywhere as the ground is much smaller than the larger ANZ stadium and other larger venues. The alcohol is all overpriced and mid strength, but where isn’t it at sporting events these days. Olympic Park is very accessible by public transport and parking is usually capped at a maximum of $30 per day. Would definitely recommend attending a sporting venue here.
Great stadium to watch sports! The Skydeck feature provided an awesome view of the field. The night was made even better with a winning performance of the Giants! To top it off the Skydeck catering was delicious with mains being: sausage sizzle, chicken / lamb / beef skewers, rolls, salads, etc. Post half time there was sausage rolls, pies, chips and even dessert. The bar facilities are top notch with quick service. This stadium even allowed guests to play on the field after the game! How awesome is that!
A great venue with a variety of different uses. I mainly attend Spotless when the Easter Show is on as well as for the T20 BBL and WBBL cricket matches. There are a variety of food outlets dotted around the Stadium which should cater for most tastes and dietary requirements. There are also ample toilets including accessible/family toilets with baby change tables. The only time when there may be a wait is during breaks during the games or if the stadium is at sold out capacity.
Looking for a family-friendly destination that promises excitement for the kids? The AFL's Giant Stadium is the perfect spot! Despite the "stadium tax" on food and drinks there's a lot to choose from, along with subway, pizzas, ice creams and entertaining kids activities - something for everyone in the family. Meanwhile, the friendly atmosphere of the stadium ensures a pleasant and easy-going environment for all. What's more, you get to watch a thrilling game of AFL.
A day out with under 1 year old twins was exciting and enjoyable for both the and the ♀️♀️ !! We got to enjoy all aspects of the Sydney Royal Easter Show, including the famous Animal Walk, the Woolworths Pavilion, the Showbag Arena, a playground and some of the infamous foods on a stick, including a cheeseburger pie that did NOT disappoint! Loved the duckie named Mr Michael Underwood ♀️
The area also hosts the annual Royal Easter Show. One if Sydney’s great institutions, now 200 years old. Though a little expensive (what is not in Sydney?) it’s a great day out for adults and kids and a very city accessible way to have a glimpse into Australian rural lifestyles. If you don’t get into the country - the real Australia - then this is your easiest option.
Had good views from the seats but had to buy gold seating as standard was sold out and don't really understand how it was worth more we were further away from the bars and food outlets which there could be a few more of also we went for the cricket which finished late so public transport meant it took 2 and a half hours to get to thornleigh
Great stadium, not the best for football matches. Very modern facilities, quick to enter and exit. I think the food options are well above us usual standards with a doughnut places and subway. There is even a members area which is a convenient place to meet up with mates. This venue is clearly built for crickey and afl purposes.
Easy to get to using public transport. Right in the heart of the olympic park complex. It is not the biggest stadium but the seating and views of the field are good. Watching the Sydney 7s here was good. There was adequate food and beverage facilities and no lines were too long. All in all a good experience and a good venue.
Good stadium for watching AFL had good view from our seats but it took 40 MINUTES TO GET FOOD. Really atrocious. Poor underpaid young kids doing the best they can while a “Supervisor “ just stood and watched. Lift your game Giants Stadium and take note of how other stadiums organise their food & drink outlets
The stadium is great, however the recent Easter show was absolutely pathetic, an insult to what it once was, and talked up a BS program, never will I return to the Sydney royal Easter show again. Complete waste of money and time. The kids today will.never know how good it once was.
Went to the R&B Friday live Festival. Great place for it. Plenty of Space for such a large amount of people. I love that it was a Festival with Built in toilets and the stalls for drinks were set up were organised and out of the way. Lots of food options, though nothing healthy.
An absolute joke. Are events not required to comply with noise restrictions! Horrid sound can be heard from at least 10km away from the event for hours now- raves should definitely not be allowed in residential areas especially at night. Better practices should be implemented.
Amazing stadium and awesome hospitality offered by the GWS Giants for our citizenship ceremony on the day of Round 9 Giants vs. Carlton. Special treatment for the children who have lived a special day which they hopefully will remember for their whole life. Go Giants!
Way too many people made standing in lines for rides an absolute joke. At that to the rorting price rides were charging and the fact you couldn't move because the amount of people was out of control. Limit your tickets so it doesn't take 30 minutes to walk 500 metres.
Now, decades after the 2000 Olympics, this place is a Sydney icon. I've been here (and neighbouring facilities) for everything from Career Expos, to concerts, to just riding my bike around. With good weather, this place is a great day out (not bad when it's wet too)
Went along to Spotless for a Rugby 7s tournament. It was a fantastic venue with one of the best audio/sound systems I've ever heard in a stadium. All of the food and drink vendors sold high quality, tasty food at a reasonable price. I can't wait to visit again!
Good one, but should have more food stalls inside the stadium and should have more transportation options. Hard getting taxis sometimes. The score board during the first t20 women's cricket world cup in the stadium was not updated properly and full of errors.
The drinks are a problem. One person says you can take unopened water in the next said you can't. And you can not buy a bottle of water with a lid. Beer is warm, same for the gin. Upside is the he food is good, quite cheap and tastes good. Very good variety.
I come to watch Hawthorn play Greater western Sydney with Jo my second eldest it's a rainy sunday afternoon/evening. We are on the Charlie Grand stand. And we can capture the moments in full panaramic veiw from up here absolutely captivating and amazing.
The atmosphere was electric, had great seats for the royal Easter show finale only down side was the drone display it was shown at the 1 end of the stadium and could only be viewed if you were seated at the other end, but other than that it was amazing.
Very hot day and lack of shade due to orientation of the stands. Spent over half the AFL game standing with most of the crowd as it was too hot in the seated area. Disappointing that above us was a covered stand with shaded seating but was locked off.
Went back a 2nd time. just me and my partner wanted to back again to go on all the rides we couldn't go on when we took the kids. it was such a blast ! So much fun. Sushi was delicious and Rides were so awesome !! I'd go back again if I could.
Great place to come for the Royal Easter Show, but also good to come all year round to watch AFL, BBL etc. The thing I love most about the stadium is the sheer variety of food on offer. Really a step forward in terms of stadiums and arenas.
It was fun being there . Just one suggestion directions should be more clear and placed as boards at different locations . Carnival fun pass top up was available easily but what to do of the remaining amount left on card was not clear .
Sydney Easter show from the Sutton stand is a great spot for the entertainment, until the fireworks start. You need to be on the lowest seats or go to the ground level. But all the entertainment was really well put together.
Good place to watch sports, I watched cricket, parking was accessible and directions to seating was OK with plenty of eating options. Although not intimidating as SCG or MCG would be - but still worth going.
Very nice showground. I visited this place at the time of Easter show. It was really great experience with awesome evening shows. Fireworks, bike racing, car racing, singing and dancing. Well spent time.
Much smaller than SCG or Olympic Park. The size makes it feel like your closer to the action. No chance of being seated above the cloud line and it's not a two day trek for food or the bathroom either.
We were there for the Round 9 AFL- Sydney Giants Vs Carltons match. A very well maintained stadium with excellent facilities such as toilets all around the perimeter of the stands, food outlets too...
Great place to watch the footy, though the lines for food and drinks can be out of control. You can take your own though, just not anything you've purchased at a cafe or other so outside the ground.
It was good.. but the juice and food wasn't fresh, and the orange juice, there was many oranges there, so we thought its a real orange juice but it was just like a bad bottled juice from woolworths
The show this year is every bit as great as it has ever been but with SS delightfully smaller crowds due to covid-19. Booked parking is only $20 this year, $10 less than usual. I'm going again.
I was attending the Supanova expo which took place today and tomorrow; fans of anime, cosplay, games, toys and collectables will love this expo & best of all, kid 12 and under get in free.
It is not as clean as the name implies, however clean enough. Beer selection nonexistent, unless you really like northwestern lager. Good venue for a fun summer evening game of cricket.
The Sydney Showground is good place to see events at. Its easy to get to. It has various other things to see and do in its surroundings. DFO, restaurants and cafes , just to name a few.
Really well designed, easy to get around, plenty of food & drink for exhibitors, great for the horses, the rides, show bags etc are well away from livestock & accommodation block.
A great place. The Easter show is awesome. Planning to become a member so we can go more often as there's so much to see and do you need more than one day to see everything
It would be nice to have such facilities in Sydney, as many facilities are available to public. However, sometime it is really annoyed when they got concert nearby.
Great stadium, but the seatsare killer's especially wen its a long game to watch. Starting to show its age a bit, but still an awesome construction... …
Royal Easter Show was awesome, great variety of rides for all ages, lots of food choices and prices were reasonable except for beer which was almost $10 per can
As far as ease of access, amenities, parking, food vendors, entrance to grounds and ground staff it is one of the best places I have been to in a long time.
The ground is easy to access and walk around, and the views of the ground are excellent. The food offerings are also the best of any stadium I've been to.
On a hot day there is no cover from the sun for such a long event like the Sydney 7s. Views are pretty good and the food options are fairly widespread.
It's definitely worth paying for an Easter show pass. So civilised sitting in members areas, restaurant is lovely and staff super friendly and helpful
The Royal Agricultural Society Easter Show was absolutely amazing! Great food, fantastic entertainment and an amazing time had by family and friends!
Honestly my favourite stadium experience so far. Affordable food prices. Fast service. The view of the game was great, you feel right in the action.
Plenty of food outlets, alcoholic outlets and non alcohol and ice cream outlets. Comfortable seating, toilets every 50 metres. Good stadium.
Watched derby swans v giants great match but no one was selling programs and non giants merchandise. Swans do this at their home games.
Spent the week at the Easter Show 2021, absolutely fabulous experience. The show is as good as ever despite concerns over COVID.
Lots of fun at the Easter Show. Transport too and from was fantastic. Recommend getting a seat early as it fills pretty quickly
Always fun to eat and explore! Young kids get the maximum benefit of fun rides merchandise and food, but showbags are for all!
It's a great stadium I have been there a few times BBL(Big Bash) The royal Easter show, also AFL(Australian Football League)
Atmosphere is poor and queues for the toilets and food are unbearable. Views are good though and easy to get to by train
Well done to the organisation. Great show again, and one for all the family. The transport buses from Dee Why, perfect.
Awesome place! Really enjoyed it. I didn't go to a game but I went to a concert here which was a pretty excellent night
Attended X Games 2018 and the arena was incredible. Well organised and the food and beverages went down well
Went with my 6yr old to see an AFL game. We enjoyed it very much. Some seats are too exposed on a sunny day.
Such a wide and massive venue, still very well maintained. Plenty of shows and events going now and then.
Went for Jay Chou concert in Sydney Showground. The place are very well maintain and had amazing view.
great experience kids loved the rides, animals, recommend purchasing a carnival pass for rides prior.
Wonderful atmosphere, get close up and personal because the game is so close to where you sit.
These guys run a tight ship, it is safe, secure, friendly and a lot to offer on any event!
A fantastic stadium with some "outside the box" easy food. Chips on a stick? Absolutely!
Good for the Easter show, but feels very small during footy games
