The quest for an HONEST and reasonably priced mechanic in Austin led me to the extraordinary experience at Tech One. As a young single female who has often felt taken advantage of and constantly felt the need to fact check all claims and quotes in my previous automotive encounters, I decided to spend some time extensively scouring reviews online; reddit forums, & Nextdoor posts, before finally deciding to take my car to Tech One. Tech One not only met, but far exceeded, my expectations. Their team embodies professionalism, trustworthiness, and an accommodating spirit, a stark contrast to my previous encounters. After being quoted a staggering $4,000 for repairs on my 2019 Mazda CX-5 at the Roger Beasley Mazda dealership down the road (on burnet), I was almost in tears when TechOne quoted me less than $1,500 for the same repairs, and MORE. To go over every detail that blew me away with their customer service and accommodating nature, would take a long time. but here is my short list of specific examples I want to truly say thank you for (in ADDITION to the bill that was a 65% decrease from Mazda's est.): 1. Mazda dealership informed me of a three-month wait for a loaner car, which I desperately needed to continue working while my car was in the shop over the weekend and part of the next week, but Tech One had a loaner ready and waiting for me upon my arrival. They not only loaned it to me for the entire duration, but even allowed me to take it to San Antonio for a work obligation, no questions asked. 2.When TechOne discovered half way through the job that a critical part I needed was on a nation-wide back-stock list, one of their employees personally went over to the Mazda dealership to do some more investigation, and somehow finagles his way into getting their last one! Paid for it, went back to the shop, and installed it same-day! 3, Exceptional customer service , transparent communication, and an unwavering integrity. Danny or Andrew kept me updated almost daily on the progress of my car and always kept an open line of communication (via text, which I preferred, or phone), and never made me feel like was imposing on their busy day by asking any questions, never made me feel like I was "incapable" of understanding mechanical lingo...like countless other repair shops have made me feel prior to TechOne, not just Mazda. In summary, Tech One has earned my unwavering loyalty as a customer. Their professionalism, trustworthiness, and dedication to going the extra mile have set a new standard for automotive repair shops. If you're looking for a place where you can confidently entrust your car AND your wallet, Tech One is the place to go. Thank you, Danny, Andrew, and the entire Tech One team, for restoring my faith in mechanics and ensuring I'll never have to Google or fact-check everything I'm told about my car ever again! I do not write reviews at all, but this company deserves one from the exprience I went through. Two years ago I was invloved in a minor accident where the passenger side of my Camry needed repairs. Service King was the body shop I selected as it was close to my house and under my insurance. This was mistake, as their service was anything but royality.Three months later, I get my car back and had major noise issues. I took it back and they "repaired" the problems. This was my second of three trips I had to make for them. The third time, I still had issues and took it back and they sent it to a Toyota dealership to resolve the issue. The noise was still there. At first, I thought my car simply needed new tires because the old ones were getting worn and the thread mismatch on all four of the wheel. Got new tires and still had major noise issues. So I finally decided to take it to another repair shop and just pay out of pocket. Tech One was on the top of the list of my search on Google as far as consistency of service and overall customer service reviews. I told them nothing of the wreck, but did inform them of the noise. I get a call a few hours later that day and Robert informed me that my car was in a wreck at one point and was poorly serviced. He informed me that the two front wheel bearings needed replaced with some filter replacements and said this would fix the issue. They repaired my car as needed and when I picked it up, they informed me the noise is still there and it had to be the type of tires I had (they were apparently loud snow tires). They recommended some tires for me that are much quieter and told me Discount Tire would switch them out if it was still within the 30 days of my purchase. I was a bit annoyed with the situation, but I humored them and got my tires switched out with Michlin Defender tires. The noise did improve, but there was still a deep humming noise at high speeds. I took it back and Tech One told me they would take care of it. Got a phone call a few hours later that day and the Techincians narrowed the problem down to the passenger rear wheel. The wheel was wedged into the wheel bearing during my crash and their initial test didn't catch it. They ended up replacing the wheel with a discount and now my car is smooth and quiet once again. Although the exprience was annoying, I do not blame Tech One. My Camry was sent to Service King three seperate times and a Toyota dealship, with Toyota overlooking the repairs that the car needed. Tech One went above and beyond than any shop I went to because of their investigative service. You do not see a lot shops do this anymore because they're more worried about churrning out as many customers as possible, all while neglecting the overal repairs of the car. If you need your car look at for any issue, I'm confident Tech One will repair the issue.

I did not want to write this review since all of the staff I dealt with were incredibly nice and helpful and I really liked their waiting area, but I keep finding major issues with my car and I think other people should be aware in case the same thing happens to them My car has a problem with the air conditioning blend door actuator which I knew would be a costly fix. I had been quoted $1800 at another place, Tech One said it would be $2400 because of some other issues. I needed my air conditioning back ASAP so I agreed. I picked up my car when it was done and the next day the air conditioning stopped working. This was very frustrating since I had just paid $2400 to get it fixed. They said they knew their mistake and to bring it back. They said it would be a lot of time and labor, but agreed to not charge me more since it was their mistake. When I picked it up the second time there were these issues that had not been present before: - There was a chunk of plastic behind one of the air conditioner vents. It was too thick to pull through the vent so I guess it will be there forever, which I can live with - The vents would spit out water and sometimes leak on the driver's and passenger floors. Eventually I took it somewhere else and they found a clog in the AC pipe. These leaks had actually caused mold to grow under the carpet and a maggot infestation. Absolutely disgusting - The glove compartment has been completely broken and unable to reattach. The fuse for the OnStar unit is behind it and completely broken as well - There was some electrical part on the floor when I got my car back that had an orange tag that read "do not remove". I don't even know what that is or what it does, but that is very concerning - The worst thing for me I realized when I was on a road trip in Florida during a downpour and one of my wiper blades did not work. This was the first time using them since picking up my car from Tech One. It was an incredibly dangerous situation and I'm glad I'm ok. When I took it to another shop the mechanic said the blade had been bent and this could not have happened by accident. He agreed this list of issues was likely sabotage from Tech One mechanics upset for having to fix their mistake for free. It's a terrible feeling to know that you trusted someone with your car (and $2400) and they harmed your vehicle on purpose leaving you in a knowingly dangerous situation. The maggots were so gross, but the final straw was the wiper blade. That is a safety function in a vehicle. I hope Tech One has better management of their mechanics so no one else has to go through this.

Hands down one of, if not the, best repair shops I've dealt with. My daughter is a student at UT Austin and is over 2000 miles from home. We had issues with her Explorer prior to her going to Austin the local dealer couldn't figure out. I did some research and decided based on reviews to try Tech One to see if they could figure it out. From the get-go, they were courteous, professional, and reasonably priced. The specific issue we had was a true gremlin, but Trent, Danny, and techs all kept after it trying to resolve. Along the way, I also had them perform other services which were done timely and reasonably costed. After several attempts and following all codes to the sources, Danny advised we probably needed to go back to Ford...I have to say this impressed me tremendously as he was showing they truly cared and wanted this resolved for us. Local Ford dealer took two attempts to resolve, but finally did. Weeks later a new problem arose that sent us back to Ford. An aftermarket part Tech One had replaced had failed. Tech One immediately went into action, having the Explorer towed from the Ford shop to theirs, covering the Ford diagnostic fee, replacing the part under warranty, performing another service I requested, and even performed an oil change...all under warranty! Since this, the AC went out and Tech One took care of that for us as well...timely and at reasonable cost. I can't say enough good things about Tech One. I feel confident in their work, especially being so far away and having to deal with these problems from OR. Trent, Danny, and the entire team have been great to work with and are always so responsive and helpful. If you are looking for a shop you can count on, Tech One is it!

Pros: Speedy, friendly, no bologna service. They have a shuttle if your service is lengthy, driver's attitude was quite amicable even at 730am so that was a blessing. Their waiting area has a comfy red leather couch (pictured). Sitting in the couch, and I mean "in the couch, " you unexpectedly melt away, a subject of its gentle caress. I lounged for about 5 minutes, waiting for the shuttle, and it was the best 5 minutes of my day. The waiting area has coffee from a Keurig. Not a big coffee man myself but I don't like the appearance of those 1960s drip-drop coffee makers so I was pleased to see a more modern look. Continuing on that, the modern styling of the Keurig clashed somewhat brilliantly with the overall decor. Very 1950s, red, white and black interior which fits in with the retro-trendy chic for which Austin is so well known. An antique Coca-Cola cooler, now repurposed as a TV stand, (pictured) seals the room together. Bravo to the design team. Cons: P Terry's is approximately 20 feet away but I'm trying to get shredded for summer so those don't mix. Cheat day for me I guess. Daily juice is also 20 feet away if you have more discipline and less taste buds than I do. (that's a review for another time) I don't live close to this location, nor do I have any business on Burnet, but I suppose that's more of a personal con than one that might affect a reader. I'll leave it anyway.

Update: Spoke with a manager a few days ago who offered to refund my diagnostic fee. There is a large training opportunity for back of house to front of house communication. If the job is simple and customer service is preferred - these guys should do great. Gave an additional star for being made whole again. --------------------- Shared this privately with them and received no response, so now leaving as a warning to others. First, the customer service was top notch - they are polite, friendly, and courteous - including doing courtesy shuttles/Lyfts to nearby destinations. However, I brought my vehicle in for a diagnostic and explained the trouble I was having. The service advisor seemed to get it, but by the time I was told to pick up my vehicle, it was not evident that they understood the problem at all. After further questioning, it was clear that the service advisor didn't know what the mechanic did, and said the mechanic did things that were technically impossible. At the end of the day, it cost me $200 and three days for a diagnostic, and a guess at what might be wrong, with it not being evident real work was done other than just pulling a code (which takes less than two minutes). Will not return, and will not recommend. Short version, don't let the great customer service convince you that there are competent mechanics doing the work, that part is still unclear.

I truly appreciated the service that Tech One Automotive provided today. The A/C in the car has not been working for awhile now. All the places I called close by either do not have available time or required me to leave the car in the shop for an entire day. I also had a bad experience with other shops’ quality of staff & services and remembered I dropped in here 2yrs ago when I lived in the area. After checking their customer reviews one more time, I took a chance and called them this morning. I told them what needs to be repaired, what time I am able to get there and what time I needed my car back. If the assessment & fix cannot be completed on time, I will either go back another day or figure something out since it is a bit of a drive for me to get to their location for service. All the staff are courteous and super helpful! From the time I called them to car check in/ check out. Most of all they completed what needed to be done in the timeframe that I needed so I am able to pickup my child on time. It might be luck that the repairs needed are not major which was why they were able to do it within 2hrs. However, the fact that they accommodated and agreed to work with me and check my car despite knowing I had constraints is worth commending. If you are looking for a good auto shop in the area, give them a call. You won’t be disappointed.

Where to begin... I brought my F150 in for some AC work. To make a long story short, the estimate provided to me, once they actually looked at my truck, was a couple hundred dollars more than what they quoted over the phone. They were happy to honor the quoted value and adjusted the estimate to reflect that. Then, they had an issue with the new evaporator they had just put in. In order to replace the evaporator, one must remove the entire dash, which on a 2011, takes patience and care. Patience and care equal moving slower which meant it took more than the 10 hours quoted. Now, they have to do it again given the new part was faulty. Once they realized the new evaporator was deficient, they immediately sent guys out to get a new one, called me to communicate it would take an extra day, AND (wait for it...) THEY OFFERED TO COVER THE EXTRA DAY OF RENTAL CHARGES FOR THE TRUCK I RENTED! Although this was the right thing to do, they definitely didn't have to and many wouldn't. I am happy to say, my problem now is that the AC is too cold and that is something I am willing to live with. HAHA. Danny, Andrew, and Rob, you guys clearly are here for a long term customer and not just trying to get rich off one job. Much respect to you and your team!! If I could give more stars, I would, but I guess 5 will have to do. Cheers!

I won't be going anywhere else for non warranty work ever again. Period. Hands down. After a visit to the dentist this morning, I brought my Explorer ST to address a piece of the underbody hanging down. It's one of those things I've been meaning to get fixed for a while. (The neighbor left a rake out in the middle of the street and the tines caught this underbody covering.) Mind you, my car had been serviced by Covert Ford several times without any mention of fixing this. (Guys, I'd have probably paid a labor charge and/or a new part if you'd told me.) It's just never been a priority, but I remembered getting some coupons in the mail from Tech One, so I decided to give them a try. This morning, they told me there'd be a 30-45 minute wait to get my ride on a lift to see what needed doing. They also gave me the option of coming back right after lunch as there'd likely be less of a wait, if any. Literally within five minutes of coming in, they took my car back. In less than an hour, it was fixed. They told me all it needed was a few new bolts -- and no charge. Needless to say, their speed, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship is vastly superior to the dealer experience. As such, they've earned my business.

Update 7/23/23 - I left my car with Tech One while I was away traveling for work to get some mechanical work done. I was working with Travis who was great. He kept me updated with all the issues they found and was able to explain them to me clearly. He sent me a breakdown of those issues with the estimates that I could choose which I wanted to get done first. He let me know how to use the lockbox to get my key as I was picking up the car during non-business hours. I am very happy with the work that was done along with the constant communication that was had with Tech One. I took my car for inspection to a Sticker Shop nearby. They failed my inspection saying one of my brake light bulbs needed to be changed. I took my car over to Tech One and they told me nothing was wrong with any lights and ran it through inspection and passed me free of charge because they saw I already had paid for it elsewhere. They also had a courtesy shuttle to drop and pick me up to my apartment where I was working remote for the day. The service here was impeccable. Going forward, I will bring any of my car trouble to Tech One. Great, honest people.

I called (7:50am) about a problem with what I thought was my alternator, but wasn't. I was told they could take me that day & to drop the car off for a diagnostic test. I dropped the car off @ 8:45am. I called for an update at 11:12am, 1:25pm, 2:35pm. On the 2:35pm call, I was told they were just now pulling my car in to check it. Only took 6 hrs. I got off work @ 3:30pm & headed straight there & arrived around 3:40pm. I asked Brian @ the counter about my car & he said he would find out. Then I received a call at 3:44pm from the tech on my car with an update. He obviously didn't know I was there. I told him on the phone that I was there, then hung up to talk in person. I approved the battery around 4pm. I saw the mechanic pull my car out & park it around 4:35pm. I waited for my name to be called, and I waited, and waited. I finally went to the counter around 4:45pm & asked if I could have my car, its parked right there. He went to get my paper work & came back for me to make the payment. The tech on my car was nowhere to be found, which is why no one checked me out. Does that sound like quality service to you?

My Honda had been running a tiny bit rough for quite some time - when trying to accelerate quickly the engine would bog down and act like it was running rich. The Honda dealership essentially told me I was imagining things and wasn't able to identify a problem. Based on advice from a friend, I called Robert and scheduled an appointment. I showed up and the service level was immediately apparent. I was immediately greeted before I even made my way into the door. From the point I made it through the front door to the point that I was climbing into the complimentary shuttle service vehicle, less than 10 minutes had passed. About half an hour later, Robert called me and they had already identified the problem - a small vacuum leak and spark plugs that were 30,000 miles past due for replacement. The long story short, later that day the shuttle service picked me back up, I paid a completely reasonable invoice, and drove my car away. My car now drives perfectly, and runs as good as it did the day I bought it new. It's safe to say that I will be returning for all of my automotive repair needs.

This shop has a lot of great reviews, and I can see why. My AC went out and these guys were able to get to me in same day and complete the work required during my work shift just down the street. I had to get a new condenser and the price was competitive so no complaints there. Danny helped me and was awesome. Sometimes walking into a shop as a female, I feel as though they are mansplaining everything to me or just downright being dismissive as I talk to them but not here. I dropped it off and shortly after Danny called me to let me know what was going on and the price. When I came to pick it up they were just finishing up, so I had to wait about 15 minutes in the waiting room. It was super comfortable and just how professional, polite and laid back the staff is I didn't mind the wait at all.Overall, the work, the price and the staff were fantastic, and they will be my go-to from here on out. I'm telling everyone I know.

I never had such an amazing experience with a car repair chop. 5 starts are just not enough. The word "service" finally has a meaning. My experience started with a next business day appointment, followed by an extremely friendly welcome. I explained my issues and spent no more than 15 minutes to check in. I was offered a ride to wherever I needed (which I declined) Got a call with the diagnostic results, a clear explanation of what was urgent and what was not, what the car warranty would cover and what not, and a precise cost for the different options. A part was needed which delayed the repair. Tech One offered a return Uber ride back home and then to the office. Of course, I got timely updates along the way. Taking the car back was also a breeze and I paid exactly what I was told I would. Friendly, fast and efficient. In one word, PERFECT. I did not know such businesses still existed. THANK YOU!

Brought my 96 mustang cobra here and after I told him what car I had, his response was "I have one guy I trust to work on that hold on let me see how busy he is" that was a sigh of relief immediately. It told me he knew it wasn't your average v8 and it's a tricky 4v and he wasn't just giving it to anyone just to make some money. I really respected that. Autozone gave me an incorrect fuel pump and that turned out to be my issue ‍‍‍♂️‍♂️ mad because I could do this easy job myself (with correct parts) but they saved me because I have a huge LMR mustang event to go to just days away and I was in a panic lol. He had the correct part overnighted and installed the very next day. Not to mention they order you an Uber if you don't have a ride. I thought that was pretty cool. Really nice waiting room as well. Hopefully I don't need to but if I do this is where I will be returning.

This place is awesome! I had a small transmission leak but had a day of driving before I would be able to take my truck into my home mechanic. I needed someone close by to diagnose the issue and at the very least add some fluid to my transmission. I needed to be seen same day so I could be on my way with piece of mind and a full transmission. First I went to aamco but they could only facilitate a drop off. Then right down the road I was Tech One. They said right away that they could look at my truck with a small wait. The waiting room is Amazing!! Complete with keurig coffee, candy bowl and even an assortment of chips. They checked me out, filled me up and had me on my way in less than 2 hours. The quote for the repair was very reasonable. They didn't charge me for the diagnosis. They really saved the day! Thank you Tech One!

They've always been very honest with me. They are so friendly, probably the least intimidating mechanic I have ever visited with a very welcoming lobby and staff. The shuttle drivers who have driven me home after dropping off my car have always been so nice. I think given the area, they're priced very reasonably. They are always relatively fast to repair my car and they thoroughly explain everything they noticed about my car when inspecting it and tell me which repairs can wait and which can't. I've been to mechanics where I walk in knowing what I need and they try to sell me a handful of unnecessary services along with it but I never dealt with that here. Whenever they bring an issue to my attention and recommend immediate action, I feel confident that it's a real concern.

The crew here are top notch people and mechanics, they've truly gone above and beyond for me. I've had a very tricky problem with my old car's AC for a long time and it has taken a lot of trial and error to identify and solve all the issues. But they were patient, accommodating, good humored and so sweet every step of the way. They were always happy to give me a ride home and took total responsibility when the problem wasn't resolved the first time - far exceeding my expectations given how illusive I knew the AC issue was. They even identified issues caused by my last mechanic and insisted on fixing that work free of charge. They built a lot of trust and made a very loyal customer. Can't recommend these good folks enough.

I had my timing belt and water pump changed as it was overdue. Tech One was excellent! They were honest and so professional and friendly!!!! They provided top notch customer service. Provided a ride and the work they did was excellent! They also have the best warranty of any other shops that I checked on. Although I got my vehicle fixed as it was overdue, it ran so much better after the job was done! I used the financing option and there was an issue with the financing and Tech One was so professional and patient as I worked out the issue with the financing company. I would recommend Tech One as I believe it’s one of the best shops in Austin! Thanks Tech One!!! Your a bright light in the Automotive Industry!

My car has been serviced here a couple of times in the past year or so and each time I'm very happy with the customer service and quality of the work. I usually talk to a guy named Andrew who is super nice. The other ones are nice, too but it's a good feeling when someone remembers you. It's hard to find a mechanic that you can trust so after my first experience, I've decided these are my go-to guys. Much faster and less expensive than the dealership AND they will get you an Uber to help with logistics! That's amazing in a city so full of people too busy to take you. Overall the value is great and I will continue to use them. Thanks for being a gem among a pile of rocks!

Can't say enough great things about Tech One Automotive. There are plenty of mechanics closer to me but this place is worth the drive. My AC picked the worst time of year to die on me, so I brought it in for them to diagnose. It wasn't good news, the compressor and condenser needed to be replaced, but the prices were fair and two days later I was back on the road with an AC blowing colder than it ever has. My service advisor Rob was friendly and communicative throughout the entire process and even helped find me a coupon to help out with the total bill. I will absolutely be making the drive back here for all my future maintenance and repair needs.

My husband and I have been going to Tech One for years. I recently brought my car here to check everything for my 60,000 mile tune up and they found a couple of other "leaks' that needed to be fixed. They finished the job and when I picked it up, it wasn't running as well as I'd hoped. When I called, they were very understanding and told me to bring it back and they would make sure to get it fixed.They finished all work in a very timely manner and I can now say my car is running like new! They are very honest and priced well for the quality work they do and I never feel they are just trying to "sell" you something.

Travis, Ross, and Danny are the best! People here genuinely care for their customers. It can be intimidating at times to visit automotive shops, especially as women, because we can easily get taken advantage of and get sold or promoted services we may not need. However, the staff here really care for their customers. Travis, Ross, and Danny have always explained everything to me patiently so I can make informed decisions for any purchases/services I do. I was referred to Tech One by another mechanic who told me I had some technical issues that he was unable to fix. I had used another mechanic to try and fix my car and, in the process, he messed my car up even more. The electrical wiring had been fixed incorrectly. I can't express how grateful I am for Tech One. My daughter is located in Austin while I am in the Houston area. I received a coupon in the mail for a "winterization special," which included a tire rotation, new wipers, fluid top off, and overall inspection. I needed an inspection for the dmv anyway which had me looking around for a reputable auto shop and glad I went here. They took my car as a walk in and were able to finish the job same day despite being packed. They also offer Uber services if needed, which is convenient. Will definitely go back in the future. These guys are not like other shops. I don't think I can ever go back to NTB again after seeing what real shop service looks like. I ordered tires to be shipped to their shop, they took me to work and dropped me off, then finished the work exactly as they said and then came and picked me up. They also texted me as the work progressed so I knew exactly what to expect without needing to call. Recommend highly to others especially if you are a busy professional.

They did a good job with my car. My only complaint is I had asked to get a state inspection done after and they wanted me to come back after having my car for a week because it needed some miles on it for the computer to register. I feel they could have driven it to lunch or something and got it completely done before pickup. Ultimately I will use them again though in the future, friendly staff, reasonable repair time, good communication, free loaner car.

Scam they will over price you here assuming you might be to stupid to know any better. They wanted to charge me 900 dollars to change the sparkplugs in my 2012 mustang I got it done at Excalibur for 350. Changing the sparkplugs isn't worth 900 dollars it's 1 days worth of work tops. Really sad to see them be like this. They also won't stop harassing you until you leave them a good review because they know they are being scummy and getting away with it.

Brought my '08 Honda Element in for an oil change and road trip inspection. Michael shuttled me home and was very nice to talk to, and within a couple hours, they provided a detailed inspection of recommended maintenance/repairs that I could easily approve/decline online. Great service! The prices are in range with what everyone else charges for my transmission oil change and spark plug change. They had a cool and comfortable waiting room. They were a bit busy when I was there but let me know how things were going along the way when I asked. Definitely will be returning. I got my car towed here after hours because it died on me about 5:30pm. I called to ask about the process and the man on the phone was very helpful. It was towed there and they got ahold of me the next day to ask what had happened and then were able to get it fixed by the end of the day at a reasonable price. Went there with my Acadia for a oil change. Not long after Change Oil Light came on Took to a different place They said oil was dirty because the Oil Filter was never replaced. After the proper Oil & Filter service was done, never seen the light again.
