I’m not entirely convinced. I took my daughter’s bike there twice, as I got flat tire one after another, every time after one relaxing ride on asphalt, or bike path, nothing extreme, just regular street ride for not even one hour. It could be a bike poor quality but I’m not sure. They replaced the tube twice and I got flat twice. However, the staff was nice and repair was done timely. Even though I needed repair three times so far. Also, I Google says they’re open until 2 pm on Sundays but the store was closed. Can’t you update your hours? It would be helpful. Update after owner’s response: I didn’t mean for the review to be harsh, but I feel that your response is not really nice either. I only suggested that maybe my bike is not the highest quality ever and take some responsibility for what was happening. But your response saying that you repair my ‘poor quality bike’ (I only suggested it out of respect to your work) is not respectful to your customer. If I’m not worthy to be your customer because I don’t own $1000 bike then I’m sorry I bothered you and wasted your time. But you gladly collected money from me, didn’t you? Such treatment and being offended with a review which is honest is not going to bring customers. I’m not aware of Google glitches and I really don’t have to be. You can be nicer to a customer and explain the issue in a respectful way.

Great bike shop. Best of the best. You can disregard any negative review on here. Clearly some unreasonable expectations and fake account trolls out there. This place has great prices on mid to higher end bikes and do really solid repair work that they stand by. If you buy junk bikes at a big box store or online, call that retailer when you need it fixed and don't expect the local bike shop to fix the inherently flawed product you purchased elsewhere for the similarly low comparative price you bought it for. Spend the extra few bucks for a good product from a place that will service it and you'll save in the long run. Support Local Businesses now more than ever. The owner is an awesome dude and lifelong neighborhood guy and all of his workers are good kids that know what they're doing. My bikes take a beating and for me to ride as I do with anything other than precision functionality would be detrimental to my well being. I trust no one but these guys to work on my bikes.

Had a very positive experience at The Bike Shop. Went in to have my rear derailleur re-attached to my bike as a stick got caught in the chain and frame and broke the rear derailleur off of the bike. Chris said it would be done that day or the next but it ended up taking an extra day (no big deal to me). When I picked up the bike everything was fixed better than new using the existing parts, they even tightened the spokes on the rear wheel, adjusted the brakes and the bike now shifts through the gears effortlessly (the shifting was rough and a tad noisy prior to bringing my bike in AND I just had the bike tuned at another shop)! Thank you Bike Shop for a great experience and fixing my beloved Gary Fisher Marlin. I would definitely recommend this bike shop for repairs and will go back should I have any future issues. Cost of everything was $50 which I thought was very reasonable considering what they fixed and adjusted on my bike.

This place is poorly managed by a few teenagers that are unhelpful . I just go a flat a few miles away from the store and carried the bike over there . The two guys that were there refused to help me fix the flat and left me stranded 20 miles away from my house . I offered to pay double for the service and while they were bringing bikes got other clients they said I needed to make an appointment. That a complete joke ! What ever happened to helping someone with an emergency!!!! I didn’t ask for a hand out !!! The owner of this place should be ashamed of his employees!!! You should re evaluate how to treat people better . Your customer service is ROCK BOTTOM!!! And thank you for leaving a person in need a of simple flat repair 29 miles away from his home because he “didn’t make an appointment “ what a joke of an operation.

I've been going to the bike shop since I'm a little kid and I think it's the best shop ever for many reasons one being when my haro bike got stolen from the front of my house i stopped by the shop and told them what happened and they knew how much I loved to ride and chris gave a bunch of used parts so I could build a new bike and I actually liked that bike better than the one that got stolen. Another thing that is great about that place is alot of times someone that I know of tells me that they wanted to do something to their bike and the shop they went to couldn't do it cause it's something crazy custom and when I tell them try the bike shop cause if anyone can do it and know what your talking about its them and everytime the people I sent there leave happy with what they wanted

Something's Changed. Been coming here for years with my $4k carbon road bike and I always get it back same day or next day. I brought my '70s Peugeot road bike to get cables and a chain. Was told 2 days. Two days turned into 3 weeks. I call everyday for the last 5 days and nobody answers. I walk into the shop today and there it is, sitting there along 5 other kids in the shop 'working,' sitting down. No work was done on it. "We're backed up," I'm told 2 days it'll be ready. I took the bike home and I'll do it myself. Wanted to save time and give my business to an establishment I frequent, and they lost a customer. This is the first review I've ever left on a business and I'm sorry to say I'm not happy about it.

Took my wife's bike here to get new handlebars which required them to install longer brake cables. When we got the bike back, the disc brakes squealed horribly and we noticed the rotors were COVERED in grease. Brought it back and they said, "we cleaned it with alcohol, it'll stop squealing after a few rides". Well it didn't, so I brought it back again. They proceeded to blame me for buying disc brakes in an urban area! They refused to fix it and I was forced to bring the bike to Bennett's. Bennett's had to replace the rotors and pads and now it works great! Too bad I'm $200+ poorer due to The Bike Shop's mistake and lack of owning it. Go to Bennett's instead!

Highly recommend this local business. Chris, Devan and Steven helped me set up two children’s bikes I ordered online while I wait. They discovered a problem with one of the brakes - several weeks later, the manufacture sent me a replacement part and I returned to the bike shop - even though they did not remember my original transaction, they did not charge me for replacing the front brakes anyway. That was trust in customer’s word which in turn earned my respect and trust. I will return for all my future bike needs. They were efficient with friendly service — very happy!

Not happy with this place... they sold me an inner tube for my electric bike. Even though I told them the correct size, they convinced me to take a different size, because they didn't have the size I needed. Needless to say, the inner tube didn't fit. I waisted money and time because this store wanted to make a little extra money. Petty is all I can say. I'm waiting for Walmart to deliver my correct size inner tube. Mom and Pop stores suck. And, it popped because it was the wrong size, after I told you it was a different size than what I asked for. Liar!

I’m going to say the story 100% as it happened: Last Saturday may 15 2021,I got flat on my bike, I walk 2 miles to the bike shop, I had no money or my phone on me, 8 miles from home, first ! one of the workers couldn’t help me if I don’t pay, which I understand, Then for my luck the owner Chris was there, and make them fix my bike in 10 minutes, the fee was $20 , I promise that I pay it the following day , which I did , with a nice tip to the gentleman that fix it, I want to say thank you to Chriss for the trust. This is a wonderful neighborhood bike shop that has friendly and informed staff as well as a genuine, super helpful owner. This is not some fancy shop geared only towards very expensive bikes. Instead they have all kinds of bikes for many different riders; your kids, family and older riders. Their repair and modification services are outstanding in quality and reasonable in price. I just love this place, it has been here forever and represents a very rare slice of old Staten Island sensibilities!

Was in Staten Island visiting family when a crank area creak popped up and promised to derail my ride plans. Luckily I was nearby to The Bike Shop and they went out of their way to get things sorted for me. I left the shop creak free and ready for a big ride the next day. Also, the vintage BMX bikes gave me all the nostalgia. So thankful the crew helped me out the spot. These guys are great, I highly recommend checking them out, especially if you remember the glory days of BMX.

I had such a Great experience here. I bought a used bike for my son and it had some issues I went to this Shop really upset but Chris and his staff (Steven and other kids name I didn't catch) went above and beyond to get the bike fixed up for us. They didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need or take advantage in anyway, matter fact they did the complete opposite! Prices are reasonable and They are great people . Great neighborhood Bike Shop!

First time stepping foot in the shop, and they’ve earned my business for life! I was involved in a crash with my bike, and located the nearest bike shop on Staten Island that was open. I was greeted by 3 helpful individuals at the door, who proved to know a lot more about bikes than I did, to say that least! They straightened up my bike while I waited, gave me solid advise, and were super helpful! Truly thankful for businesses like theirs!

Came in today on a whim with very little time to make a selection for my son. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable and pretty much narrowed down the best bike for a 10 year old. The bike was assembled to perfection and the whole sale took less than 10 minutes. I also left my son's older bike to be serviced just so he has a spare. I would definitely come back. They've earned my business!

I have used this shop many times. The mechanic, Mike, is great. I had Mike tune-up and modify my road bike and it turned out perfect. He listens, makes suggestions and is always willing to help. I wouldn't go anywhere else. In addition to working on my bike I also purchased a bike. Chris and Mike do not let you leave unless you think the bike is perfect. I highly recommend!

The owner of this shop & his employees are by far some of the nicest people I have met. They helped me surprise my son on his birthday and we got him good! After, we ran into a situation and without fail, they came through and helped out my family, They fixed his bike to look like perfection and did it so quickly. Kindness goes a long way and I don’t forget.

Had a great experience here today with my new bike. Dude took me as a walk in and hooked my bike up on the spot. I needed a few things done and he took care of me. They got a great selection of bikes and accessories and even have skateboard stuff. Very impressed and I’ll use them when I need stuff for my bike going forward. Very fairly priced as well.

Took my bike here to change the tires and a tune up. The tune up was ok but I didnt notice until I got home that the valve stem in the front tire was crooked and the cover was missing Also There was an arrogant bike shop attitude in this place. Try doing a complete quality job and drop the attitude. You will have alot more satisfied customers

Came here to get an inner tube for my Ninebot. They didn't have one in stock and spent a great deal of time trying to get this specialty item. Even though they couldn't get it, they were professional and courteous enough to follow up with a phone call letting me know this. Very impressed!

Went once again because I needed another piece to customize my bike. They always have what I need or they customize it for me. Came in with my daughters (my youngest loves to touch) and they didn't scold or speak down to them. Prices are always great as is the service. Highly recommend!

Don't think this place is accommodating to roadbikes. I should have done more research first. New to SI and needed a bike tune up. Paid $70 chain was still dirty and no oil. Bike was not even cleaned . Only thing I think they did was change the flat. Never again

Went there twice for 2 different bike fix ups, the employees are very kind and know how to work with bikes and won't double charge you if something is still wrong with the bike after the first charge like I've seen with other scam artist bike mechanics.

They are the best! I got into a small accident with a car and they were so helpful with fixing my bike back up - super speedy and super honest work. Not a bunch of thieves like some of the other shops out there ... A+++, Would recommend to anyone.

Best place to get your bike fixed. They were on time and went beyond great service to fix my bike. I came in to get my gears changed and got great service and came out with new pedals that I really needed.

Today I bought my road bike from this shop from the bianchi brand. I am very pleased with the bike along with the workers there. They were extremely helpful and the prices are reasonable.
