Microwaved egg exploded and burnt my wife's face. So before we get onto that the other reasons why we have marked as one , and to preface this was a family birthday with approx 20 adults and kids are: - One of the kids meal came out 10 mintues before anyone else, she didn't want to eat alone so had to eat cold chips - The timings were shocking, one the same ticket the difference between the start and end of the serving was approx 25 minutes, with the birthday person having their meal sent out after everyone else had finished. - A ceasar salad with smoked salmon was sent out instead of chicken, and the person receiving it is pregant so can't eat raw seafood So onto the egg. My wife likes her eggs completely solid, not runny at all. when she got her meal she tested the egg...and pop like a champayne cork, boiling egg all over her top in her face, over the table and the guest seated across from her.. so the egg had been microwaved.....what trained chef would even do that. So we were compensated a little on the day, however the next day my wife had burn marks on her face. I rang and spoke to the manager to say this was worse than when we had spoken the day before as there was acutal burn marks, he said he would discuss and ring me back. Nothing, Nada, no reply

Good Morning, I was trying to work out how you can leave a 5 star review but also a 1 star review. We decided to land in the middle. We were having dinner with friends last night at The Dava. Its the first time we have returned in 3 years as we heard it was under new management. Well that is certainly true, we were greeted by Darren the new manager and he could not have been more accommodating to our requirements. If only the kitchen took the same care. The food was very disappointing to say the least. My wife could not eat her Chicken Parma, it was very over cooked and tough as nails. Darren replaced her meal immediately even though my wife said it was fine. My Linguine was made with dishwater I am sure. Mussels not open, pasta was hard. The other meals were okay, we did get a cheese and garlic pizza which had enough oil on it to run my car for a year, but we used napkins to soak it up. But throughout this ordeal, Darren continued to come to our table and fix the issues, nothing was too much trouble. At the end when we ordered coffees a beautiful piece of cake was bought to our table as an apology for the inconvenience. We were very surprised and really appreciated the thought. Dava we will be back but we will be selective with our orders. Darren thank you so much.

Been to the dava many many times over the years always been great but tonight was just fantastic in regards to the service towards my aons 4th birthday, the staff are amazingly helpful amd friendly! We forgot the candles for the cake and they helped us out with some to save the day! That alone has me wanting to come back! Not to mention a cake stand for it and no fee on cake plates like some other places! Kids have a blast in the play areas leaving the adults to conversate where we can see them! Food is beautiful only 4 star towards that side because it was missing a few ingredients in some meals, though highly recommend for any family outing! Great menu, great service, fair price good vibes!

Thirteen of us for dinner Sunday night. All meals were ordered at the same time. Unfortunately the two Roast of the Day meals (pork) were presented to the table at least 25 minutes after the table was served. Upon asking at the counter where the two meals were, I was told “they are coming, we ran out of vegetables, sorry”. I think they may have ran out of pork too! Vegetables were cold and so was meat … Seriously something this simple just shouldn’t be!!! Never again Plus side, the male waiter that greeted and seated us was absolute class , thank you. Sadly let down by the kitchen

We loved our experience here. The pumpkin soup was outstanding. Great flavour with just the right amount of heat. The accompanying bread was nice too. My roast lamb was faultless. Perfect amount of meat and veggies perfectly cooked with a lovely gravy. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her osso bucco ravioli too. The service from the young severs was terrific too. Efficient and polite. We loved not having to wait around forever too. The soup was brought out quickly and we were asked if we were ready for our mains. We thought the meal prices were most reasonable too. I’m not sure what the story is with some of the negative reviews here. This is a classic Aussie pub experience and a very good one.

First time here and perhaps the last. We ordered our food at 12.55pm and the kids got their meal at a reasonable time but the adult meals arrived an hour late! I saw folks who arrived way after us get their meals and they were pretty much onto dessert. When I approached the wait staff and asked - they said oh it’s 5-10mins away, sorry and they kept forgetting our table number for some reason. My poor father in law (80 y/o and sick) waited for his fish and chips for one hour. It was pretty pathetic. If we hasn’t paid for the meals already, we would’ve walked out. I don’t know what exactly happened - was it the wait staff or kitchen staff that stuffed it up, but it was unexpectable.

Attended the Sportsman's Bar with my old mates and a couple of their mates for lunch. I had the Parma and beer special for $20 and their was a Steak and beer special for $28. There were plenty of tables available and one of the group uses a walker. It's a great place for a casual catch up. Prompt service and good range of beverages as well. So much parking outside. I have been here on several occasions and I can assure you that there is something here for everyone, children included.

We had a loud and happy family party. The vegetarian tacos were perfectly favoured. The corned beef was amazing. Food was presented very well.Lots of special dietary requirement choices were available. Coffee good. The parking is really easy and close to the entrance. As a person who has limited mobility I appreciated this greatly. The waiters were patient and polite. I'll definitely be back.

Sadly a bad review. Moroccan Lamb Salad. Very dry lamb, not tough but it was like it had been cut hours before and had sat in a warmer. Not nice at all. Sticky Chicken ribs. ( red colour) My friend enjoyed them which is good.She was given a bowl of water to clean her fingers- great idea. I wonder if you put the water in a dark bowl instead of white, we may not have had to look at the image of a blood bath on our table.?

I have been going to the Dava on and off for years, sometimes good sometimes not so good I guess it depends on the chef and staff at the time. The last time I visited I said I would not come back as the food was not so great but today I had a Chicken Parma and it was perfect, the place was busy and very noisey with a few kids parties happening but you have to expect that as its a family hotel. I have had Chicken Parmas or Schnitzels in over 25 countries and today's meal was up with some of the best, well done!

Arrived with a big group that quadrupled the actual amount of people in the sports bar which all appeared to be locals served by sue behind the bar. 2 tiny soft drinks for the kids? $10! Food order came out, buzzer didn’t go off so it sat there for 15 minutes before I went up and asked. Sue couldn’t give a toss, not her problem she told me. Lots of huffing and puffing like customers were an actual inconvenience. What. A. Dive. Never again.

We hadn’t had a pub meal for years and I’m so glad we stopped at the Dava for lunch. My husband had his go to Parma which he said was great and the gravy was awesome. I had grilled fish and chips. I thought mine was pretty good too. Nicely cooked and the salad was well dressed and fresh. The staff were friendly and inviting.We will definitely be back.

The Dava isn't the Dava I remember from my twenties which is probably a good thing, then it was a rowdy fight and pick up pub. Now it's a family venue with decent but overpriced food. I had the fish and chips which was nice but the single serve us half the price of what you'd pay to feed a family. It's standard bistro where your order at the register and the food is brought to you. The servers were competent and friendly.

We’ve been coming here for years and always loved it. Great place for the kids. However the last 4 times we have been here the food is revolting! No flavour and things taste like they are old or frozen. Won’t come back again. Needs a new chef!

Enjoyed our meals and service here however were disappointed that the only baby change facilities are located in the women's bathroom which rules this venue out for Mother's Day options in my opinion. Went there after the Peninsular Cup as could not get into anywhere in Mornington as it was too busy. 10 of us got seated service was slow to start with and had a couple of problems however, it was quickly remedied, the food was great, we had a seafood platter for 2 hot and cold around $90 and not all fried, it was fantastic.

Nice place. Friendly staff. Impressed with staff commitment to keep the place Covid safe. 2 staff keep wiping tables and bar down.
