Great store; well stocked with pre-made frozen food items, as well as all the raw ingredients/spices you need to cook Indian food. Staff is helpful and able to assist in finding some of the more obscure spices for those of us novice to Indian cooking and trying to follow recipes. Great selection of Indian sweets and cooking tools.
The shop is alright and conveniently located. The lady who did our checkout was extremely rude when I asked if I could add my number to bill that gives you discount points. I will not be coming back as there are other Indian grocery shops in the city that have the same stuff. This happened July29th around 8:45 PM
The prices and varieties are good. Loved their collection of Podi. Seasonal items and festival related stuffs are also available. But their sweets are not of good quality and that's the reason I rated them 4 star. Otherwise good. I wouldn't advice buying Indian sweets here but everything else is really good.
No price stickers for each item. We have to carry all the things to checkout just to know the price. I was supposed to buy wax can and there was six wax strips free on it. They clearly deny to give those free strips though it was free with that can. It was written on wax can and strips wrapper.
Stealing from customers. In my last 3 visits I found 4 items which had different price on shelf and billed at higher price. I gave them benefit of doubt in my 2 visits but not in 3rd visit. They didn’t even remove or change the labels after highlighting the issue. I am sure it is intentional.
You’ll find the desiest of desi stuff here. Right from a tongue cleaner to Kayam churna. No need to go to GTA looking for your desi needs. Best part - if you want something they can arrange and bring it for you. I just wander around the aisles getting nostalgic looking at the products
I am a regular customer of The Indian Supermarket. They have a great collection of Indian stuff, including veggies and all other day to day things. The owners are always open to feedback. I also find the rates quite competitive as well. Highly recommend this store!!!
Lots of varieties and really good price. Good to see a supermarket specifically for south Asians, but the samosas and dhabelis that are freshly made sold in near the cashier are not good at all. We bought them, opened it, took a bite and threw it in garbage.
Good south asian supermarket to target and cater south asian customers. Service was good, employees are helpful. There vegetarian kachori or patties were just not that great. I went to buy kachori on a recommendation. The taste was just not to my liking.
Shop is really good. You get everything here. The only reason why I am giving 1 star less, is because at many times the price what they have written for product doesn’t match the billing. And then they don’t find reasons to not match it and
They have all North and South Indian local items. It's a great place for Indian especially because we don't have much Indian supermarkets in ottawa. Although the shop is small, they have wide variety of Indian companies products. They also
Great place for all Indian groceries, fresh veggies, frozen sweets. They also have a good selection of snack items like Dhokla, Khandvi, Kachoris. I absolutely love their Samosas, the taste is exactly like what you would get in India …
This shop has almost everything related to Indian/Pakistani foods, dry, fresh, frozen items. The staff are young, energetic, friendly and helpful. The aisles are narrow, so visit when less crowd. Many items are labeled without price or not
Trusted shop . Great customer service. Always welcoming experience and whenever there is any issue in product without any hassle employees do exchange or refund. Very customer oriented approach and always great experience. Even owners are
Lots of variety of Indian groceries and spices. They have a wide variety of rice and noodles which are the things I buy most when I shop there. Staff are friendly and always eager to help when I can't find something. Clean environment and
Visited the store on the evening of October 14, 2023 around 6.30 pm. Good collection and lots of customers inside. Two female cashiers were serving the customers. One of them was super chatty. She held long conversations about PR status,
I have been visiting the Indian Supermarket in Merivale for about a year now. The only reason I have given a 1 star is because there is no option to simply give a 0 star! The samosas and the other savouries if unsold gets carried over to
Nice and clean Indian Supermarket. You will get almost anything especially some rare Maggie flavors that you can't find anywhere else. Also it has great Hindu Pooja items and you will find idols of Hindu gods as well. However you cannot
Like the place. Ottawa needed store like this. They have lot of choices and variety of Indian stuff. They have fresh vegetables on Friday. Personally, I feel they are little expensive in vegetables compared to South Asian Grocery store.
This review is exclusively for snack food at your billing counter! You call that Medu Vada ? You can play ice hockey with that for ages ! It’s that hard, You charge $1.49 for 1 Medu vada and what we get is a hard hockey puck! Is it even
False Marketing!! They had advertised Amul Kool Milk as 4 for $5 in a Facebook ad, but we went to The Indian Supermarket Ottawa today (on 10th October, 2023) and the price of the product was 4 for $6. When we asked staff, they just said
Good place for Indian groceries and vegetables. The staff behavior is very good and they have huge selections of Indian groceries. Some times the price are not matching with the display. The food section and sweet section is good . The
It's a great store for Indian groceries. There are variety of Indian spices, frozen and ready to eat stuff along with Indian snacks is amazing. You will get all Indian balms, powders, ointments as well. One thing that I didn't find was
I was blindly spending money without even checking prices on other stores. I randomly compared two small purchases and noticed a difference in price, which was around 1$. so, think how much I would have saved on my groceries. I request
By far the best Indian store in Ottawa. The store has most Indian brands available. Staff is polite and responsive. Unlike other overpriced Indian stores in Ottawa, this place is reasonable. Try to connect with them on Facebook, they
Prices are crazily higher as compared to other places. The trick is that ,there is no prices on the shelfs but when go to cashier, then we get to meet with ridiculously high prices . Do not recommend to anyone for grocery shopping
It’s an average store for Indian groceries and may be better than the other ones out there. They do have lots of choices when it comes to Indian products some of which are very well priced some a bit expensive.
Multi brand store with variety of Indian food and beverages. Has less options for Indian utensils...but overall had a good experience. Shopping hint: Always check expiry date on the items that you buy from here!
Finally!! A great Indian store with awesome products. Just a note to the owner. Please maintain the product selection and variety available at the store. Don't make it just one time grand opening availability.
This place has variety of spices, pulses, incenses, handmade soaps and kitchen utility material. They also have samosas, Indian sweets, kachories and variety of vegetables. Overall they have all we need
If I had an option to put zero star as review, I would have. I called in the store on 24th of April at 10:30 AM to ask if they had puffs and if they were fresh, the representative said yes they are.
Unprofessional. Avoid. Prices are not marked. But some are written using "post-it notes", that fall off. We had to go repeatedly to cash to ask for prices, and wait in line for our
Great store for Indian groceries. They have a wide variety of products. We found certain things we couldn't find in Montreal. The space can be bigger but still very much walkable.
Very spacious, clean and the price is much lower than other Indian Groceries in Ottawa. Huge collections of groceries, veggies, masala powders, you name it, they have it.
A good store for Indian groceries in Ottawa. It had everything that we were looking for. This is the only place that has Alphonso, Kesar mangoes from India.
A live insect in their product . Showed it to the cashier and she said she will refund for this . Refund for insect or the hospital bill for the sick person?
I would like to start off by saying that the store is quite big and had a wide variety of veggies, masala sand packed groceries to choose from.
Good place to buy indian groceries. Everything available here. They also have reward points system! I frequently go here, definitely recommend.
Clean, tidy, large variety, fair prices, and friendly staff! Visited here for the 1st time, and also the first Indian grocery store I’ve
Great selection, and solid selection of frozen items + spices. Saw the owner or another clerk whisper discreetly to the cashier prior to
The really local Indian products are available in the town. Finally Toronto visit is over for groceries. Lower price than other stores.
Great store with good prices and selection for the size. My only complaint is that it seems like around half the products sold in the
The Indian Supermarket is very good for vegetarian Indian groceries. They also have fresh vegetables and pickles available.
The schezwan puff . The most depressing thing I have had in a while . Stop making this product if it was an innovation .
Good place to buy Indian products in very affordable price.great customer service. Store is very clean and nice.
Shop is great but the billing system is quite bad. With reference invoice number : 0076421 Dated May 16, 2023.
We can get all Indian spices and vegetables, prices are not mentioned on most of the products
Clean, well stocked, very helpful, and very well operated. Kind staff and excellent owners.
Nice products and a really good customer service. Will definitely come back.
