On 21/06 I walked into the gallery with my daughter for her birthday, trying to give us a new experience. I asked an Consultant for a little information, not being well versed in the Arts. Tryon (sp) is what any industry needs as a representative. Not only is he informative, he’s in-tuned with the audience, he spoke to me from the ground level up. He spoke to me about the arts trends, macroeconomic factors that influence the pricing and how that affects the African artist. In 7 mins, I had a bag of knowledge from him. He is agile, customer eccentric but also a great industry influence. Invest in him - Brands are built in Passion!
I pass by this place 90% of the time and the art is always eye catching and thought provoking. If you are a fan of sculptures, paintings, colour and art in general, pop into the Melrose Art Gallery and get blown away. Always a peaceful and calm atmosphere, I almost never want to leave. Plus the managers are always accommodating to my barrage of questions which makes this a comfortable space to be in if you're intimidated by the thought of art galleries.
The art exhibits are diverse and offer something for everyone. For artists or creatives, l highly recommend Melrose Art Gallery if you are looking to become an expert. Furthermore the entire staff is kind and helpful. Their attention to every detail is perfect and l am glad to have received invitations to exhibitions throughout the year
Some world class paintings and sculptures can be viewed in the backdrop of the gallery. The contemporary art reflects the complex issues that shape our diverse, global and rapidly changing world- it features well established artists as well as the upcoming. Definitely worth a visit.
Papytsho Mofolo a Congolese, “Papytsho’s work is included in the permanent collections of the UNESCO collection (France), Rotary Club Collection (Kinshasa), Shell Collection on (Kinshasa), King of Jordan private Collection, and the D.R. Congolese Presidential Collection.”
Beautiful gallery in Melrose Arch. I had the chance to come several times for openings and the reception is very impressive. Good diversity throughout the year and always nice encounter while being there.
We were attended to by proffessional and friendly staff who made sure all our questions were answered fully. The art gallery is in the safe Melrose Shopping area safe "parking and safe to walk around"
Got the privilege to see the Devine Mother exhibition at the Melrose Arch Gallery. There was so much detail put in it and so much to learn from it. There’s always something new there to see!
The Gallery director together with the gallery manager and curator madam Ruzy are such a formidable team. The Melrose Gallery Johannesburg is one to experience in one’s lifetime.
