"Rod has a good range of books, but he keeps more in his warehouse"
"Fantastic array of books"
"Very interesting collection, I've bought a lot of specific music theory and analysis books from here"
"Great place to find those elusive books and there is always a reliable stock of books available"
"A nice little haven in a very busy market! Quite a good range of stock, Rod, the owner will do his utmost to help with your enquiries"
Rod has a good range of books, but he keeps more in his warehouse. Whenever I asked him to look for a book he always says yes, but he never gets to it, he never looked for the books that I wanted. He briefly remembered me once when I asked him about a book but that was because he remembered my face. He doesn't have an online catalogue. Why buy second hand from a vendor that runs his business carefree instead of buying from an online store that is well stocked and that can promise and deliver? The market stand is good for browsing, but don't ask him for anything else.
Fantastic array of books. Friendly staff, enjoyed chatting with Martin, who gave me a lovely bookmark when I admired it. Often came here for fantasy books. Brought a medical friend who was interested in the dinosaur literature and theological tomes. Something for every reader. Apparently they have a humongous pile in a warehouse!
Very interesting collection, I've bought a lot of specific music theory and analysis books from here. I've never been able to find books on counterpoint, figured bass and chorales like these before. A great little book stall for some great finds, staff are also very friendly and helpful.
Great place to find those elusive books and there is always a reliable stock of books available. One of the added benefits of visiting The Merchant of Fairness is that it is in the South Melbourne market. If you haven’t been here, it is worth a visit and then stay for a great meal.
A nice little haven in a very busy market! Quite a good range of stock, Rod, the owner will do his utmost to help with your enquiries. Rod and partner have another larger store, also called Merchant of Fairness in Whitehorse Road Balwyn right beside the picture theatre.
A stall-bookstore with a small but niche collection. I was glued to the Australian History and Foreign Language sections (noticed French, German and Dutch books), which were extensive to my liking. I will visit again!
Gigantic market área with small shops and tiny restaurants. Colorful place with some very good place to eat. Absolutely recommended.
Nice little book shop. Bought a nice copy of dune messiah here for $6.50.
Usually manage to find some obscure gem here.
Great collection & pricing
