A very disappointing experience indeed... Our group walked in for a Saturday afternoon meal to experience an abysmal luncheon, poor service (only two staff members in attendance' bar maid and chef)' poor table service, and terrible manners. For the lunch order one of our group members required that his meal be cut up in the kitchen prior to being served at the table, this was not done (even though the receipt made note of this requirement). The food was sub par as best we can describe politely and all members of the group expressed their lack of satisfaction at such a premium level cost meal, both in quality and preparation. All members of our group did not finish their meals. Clearing of dishes was not performed and had to be requested after twenty minutes of trying to catch the attendants eye... The fact that there were no other diners in the venue between the hours of 12.30pm and 3.00pm on a lovely Saturday afternoon speaks volumes. I should mention that all of our group were local to the area and prefer to support small independent local businesses. However none of our group shall ever be back to The Watering Hole Tavern.

A perfect place to cap off a lovely day of berry picking. We were warmly welcomed even though we were a large group with a dog and without a booking. We had a lovely table out in the beer garden. There was only one staff member taking orders and serving but he was amazing, very friendly and efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The food was so delicious. Cheesy garlic bread was soft and tasty, the mushroom cups with green peppercorns and brie will be something to try making at home, very more-ish. The garlic steak sizzling plate was fantastic, the meat was cooked to perfection and the sauce was as anticipated, garlicky and just the right amount of creaminess. The volcano pizza was spicy with a nice thin crispy base. Chicken parmas were juicy with a crunchy coating and the grilled fish was nicely cooked. Serving portions are generous without substituting quality for quantity. The chips are dangerous - so crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside - you will have hoovered a whole bowl without realising it. The chef knows how to cook.

I came here for my 30th Birthday, it was a larger table of about 10 though it was on a Monday night, so the restaurant wasn't overly busy. I checked out the reviews prior to coming, and had also been reccomended on the Ceolic Aus FB group. To say we were dissapointed is an understatement. 3 months on and my family are still reminding me of how terrible my 30th Birthday dinner was. What a great way to remember it lol. The gluten free pizza base was so awful, it wad actually inedible. We asked what ingredients where used to make the dough, the answer was 'Xanthan Gum '. To whatever chef out there, that thinks that is an appropriate alternative to wheat flour, I literally have no words for you. Service was average at best, though one of the girls was nice. I certainly would not recommend.

After lining up to order for over 20 mins (with the venue only half full) then waiting over an hour for our meals, we were utterly disappointed with each of our meals when they arrived. Firstly the kids "home made nuggets" were unable to be eaten due to the impenetrable armoured layer of batter surrounding the chicken, this was consistent with the seafood basket, which was served on brown paper bags meaning everything was oily and soggy! The seafood was definitely not fresh and tasted horrible. Salads weren't fresh and no salad dressing. Most of our food was left on the plates! A waste of money. The only positive was it was clean and the floor staff were great and polite considering there were numerous complaints that I could hear. Unfortunately we will not be returning or recommending.

Came here for dinner and drinks on a Saturday night and it was buzzing we sat outside under a covered area with heating and it was lovely. The staff were all friendly and awesome, the food was delicious. I had the bruschetta which they made a bit different to the usual with mix of red , orange and light tomatoes. And I had the Char grilled chicken salad topped with tandoori yoghurt dressing for my main and was not disappointed with either of my choices . And they has an interesting selection of cocktails on the board and I had to have my Long Island ice tea cocktail give this place a go if you go for a drive that way .

This place deserves so much more recognition and hype! We have been here twice now and both times the service and food has been outstanding. The meals are fresh and well cooked, chicken parma is pan fried, chicken nuggets freshly made (not frozen packet ones), delicious gravies and so much more. The specials board had amazing options and just all round a decent menu. A particular favourite for the kids was the spider on the menu, not many places offer a spider drink anymore! Was shocked at how quiet it was both times for a weekend lunch.. if you have been contemplating heading here definitely do!

my partner and I came here for dinner the other night, as soon as we walked through the door we felt un welcome by the staff, we were seated and were not given any menus, we had to look the menu up on our phone whilst all other tables received menus, the staff were quite rude the only nice staff member was the girl running the food, I got the margarita pizza and the lamb salad which were nice and my partner got the porterhouse steak and it was cold and half of it was fat, not worth $46 at all. Don’t think I would recommend this to anyone

Been here before used to be good. Had a pizza the base was really hard cheese was not good. Could do a better job in your own oven not their wood fire pizza Oven. I discretely said about the food they said what you dont like it like that.... i said i dont want money back but i wouldnt return for that..... more of a friendly gesture of advice.... Cutting corners! Cuts customers! Not even a sorry for that! The beer is good as anywhere else though

Have eaten here on more than 15 occasions and really love the way the food is consistently good and there's always some variation on the specials board. The pizzas and chips could be a little better cooked sometimes but generally everything is great. Love the pasta. Not all the staff are great but there is one great waitress who is always friendly, efficient and even remembers what we like to drink! It's hard to find staff like that these days and will be sad to see her go.

Just popped in for a beer, a lovely venue I'd not been to before (thanks, COVID). Friendly, experienced staff who welcomed us and gave a rundown on what was available. We sat outside and met a lovely family & their dog, Olive. They said the food is excellent and they travel for a Sunday lunch. I'll be back! Beer was expensive, though, and only available in pints and pots. Maybe it was because it was a Sunday, but $25 for two pints is pretty steep.

I used to love it here but the service has really gone down hill! 1 hr wait for our meals ! waitresses were extremely unprofessional ,swearing loudly and sitting with bar patrons while tables were left uncleared, and diners went unserved .i overheard wait staff making snide jokes about patrons. When meals did finally arrive i found an ant floating in my dessert. Won't be back and will be telling others not to bother either.

Really enjoyed our lunch here! Establishment Was busy, we waited over 1 hour for our meals, however - the meals where absolutely delicious. The pizza could have been warmer in temperature, think it may have been waiting under the serving lights for a while. The chicken Parma was spot on!! Great meals, lovely ambience and friendly staff. The only thing that needs attention is some of the 2 seater tables are very wobbly. Looking forward to trying more meals here :)

NEW EDIT: The chicken kilpatrick!! No words for how delicious that was, absolutely phenomenal, the chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauce was just wow. I’ve never been disappointed by the service or food here. Thank you so much. Spinach and mushroom risotto is absolutely to die for! The service was so lovely for the brief moment I was inside. I can’t wait to be able to dine in once restrictions are lifted.

We had three take away pizza's last night and they would have to be the best pizza's on the mountain.It has been quite awhile since we have had them and I can honestly say the quality of the product has not diminished. Had lunch here and the food was excellent . I had the mushroom and spinach risotto and my husband had the chicken Kiev.....very tasty. Also the service was very friendly and accommodating. Asked for some chilli to go with my risotto and was served a small bowl of homemade paste that was absolutely superb (not too spicy). Thank you very much.

I can’t say enough great things about this place. Welcoming, friendly, relaxing with awesome food...I felt I’ve just had a home cooked lunch. Such a generous serve of an exciting menu, I like it when I read a specials board & I want to try every single thing on it! If you are ever out this way it is definitely a worth a visit for lunch or dinner!

Ignore the (very few) negative reviews, this place offers some of the best hospitality available and nothing they do is pretentious. It's just great food, friendly service, exceptional prices and the atmosphere is perfect whether it's Summer or Winter. If they have ribs available you won't be disappointed. Don't miss out and don't go elsewhere.

Went here with my family tonight. I had the Mexican parmigiana off of the specials menu, it was delicious and well made. Atmosphere is nice and the waitress who served us had beautiful customer service while seating and serving us. Very nice restaurant, thanks guys.

We love this place - we are lucky to have a great local that serves great pub nosh, a range of local bevvies and a great kids menu (hint - the homemade chicken nuggs are my kids go-to). Hosts Mick and Rene are great local people who work hard to make sure their customers have a great experience and that they want to come back, Which we do.

Serviced was good the staff are friendly, food is mediocre. Chicken satay did not looked appetising. Mushroom risotto looked like an after a big night out. Pizza was dry and overcooked. Hopefully next time it will be better.

Amazing food friendly staff and the best coffee ever. We took our friends here and they are well travelled. Garry said. This is the best home cooked style food I have had in years. Wasn't happy at all. Usually great but really let me down this time. Order a seafood crape that was beautiful. Chicken parmigiana chicken was good but cold chips. Smokey BBQ chicken pizza was cold. And nachos was cold and prob the worst I have seen. And also took an hour an ten min to get to us :( Sadly won't be returning.

Spent the day in the hills and noticed the woodfired pizza sign, decided to check it out. Was made really welcome by the owners. All food made on the premises. Pizzas were amazing (Smoked salmon was my favorite). We got to have dessert sitting in front of the open fireplace. If you are passing through you have to drop in.

We had the Greek lamb pizza which was delicious. My husband had the beef and Guinness pie and for someone that usually only orders steaks, this was one of the best pub meals he had ever had.

Our experience here indicates you should avoid the lamb salad and the pasta. The lamb salad was undercooked and a very cheap cut of lamb; and the pasta was extremely undercooked and the sauce to pasta ratio was off - to give you some idea at the end there was still more than half a bowl of sauce left.

Great place placed just off the main road nice setting. Great ambience and staff is super friendly!! Had the best Risotto and Ravioli. Despite battling through the storm last week this place was running on a generator today just shows how much they are determined to host guests and serve great food!!

Friday lunch before a wedding . Long time since I had a really nice Parma and the other half had a great pizza Was a really nice start to the day. The beers were great . Barman was so friendly and helpful . I would recommend a friday lunch for a great quiet relaxed experience. With a laugh too .

New to the area and delighted to have such a great establishment close by. The food is delicious and great value. My beloved Stone and Wood is on tap and never disappoints. Most importantly the staff are friendly and have created a brilliant atmosphere to spend your afternoon or evening.

Chips were bad, pama was good, salad was okay. The place is very expensive for what average food you get, would not go again or recommend. Literally think the chips were redipped into the cooker after going cold. Fireplace not on in a cold winter weekend night so assume they never use it

Went here again Friday night and again I was wrapped with the food. Shared a Smoked Salmon Pizza with fried capers between the four of us and it was amazing. Pork belly main - fabulous, Soft shell crab - delish, Sweet and sour chicken on Risotto - great. Can't wait till next visit.

Need more staff. Some of our group didn't receive their meals until everyone else had finished and about to leave. Employee lit the fireplace but kindling burned out before he came back and put logs on it. Meals were tasty though and nice atmosphere. Just put another employee on.

Absolutely terrible. Salad was dry, pizza was undercooked, everything tasted like shi!. I went here with a group of people and we all hated it because of the food and dirtiness of the kitchen. It’s a pity because the staff were really nice. Don’t go here .

Terrific find. We drive right but this place almost every other weekend. The seafood basket is really fresh. The chilli stout was nice. We were early and got a table for 2 by the open fireplace. Most definitely a recommend

A lovely cosy fireplace to drink your wine in front of! Staff are so friendly and we visit here frequently to catch up with friends for a drink. Can be quite loud if there is a band, but always a great atmosphere. Love it!

Delicious stop with a variety of good choices on tap. The smoked salmon pizza was very interesting and yummy with fried capers. Wouldn't recommend the gluten free pizza but again I haven't found a good place yet.
