. . . driven past the Book Barn a gazillion times on the way to Phillip Island, and finally this weekend, made the time to stop and check it out. There is off street parking so it makes sense to pop in and check it out, even if you're just passing thru the town Tooradin on the way elsewhere. It didn't disappoint, in fact it EXCEEDED✅ my Expectations for the Variety of Books available in a relatively compact space. That is variety in genre, subjects/topics, also having a well stocked section of Children's books, along with puzzles and board games. . . . keep in mind it is a compact shop and need to be mindful that other people may wish to get past you to look at shelves (kind of reminds me of train commuting in peek hrs, have to let people pass when standing in the aisles- LOL! ) Personally I like the aesthetic, Retro & Quirky I LUV the shop as it is and appreciate that it's not high end or up market. Also it would be remiss not to mention how affordable the books are @ the Book Barn, I defy anyone who luvs books, not to Walk Out without buying at least a couple of books if you go in here.

The lady serving and making coffee was rude and sarcastic. The coffee was terrible and I wasn't tempted by the glad wrapped cakes. No prices displayed and expensive. Disappointing as I have been here previously but wouldn't go ever again.

A surprising gold mine of cheap new books, recently published. I just bought one of the best books I have ever read there, ‘No Going Back, by Lisa Kennedy. Only paid $3.99! A reader’s paradise!

Great range of books, cheap prices. Very friendly and helpful staff. A good place to stop by and stock up on games and puzzles to keep the kids busy during the holidays!

The books are very reasonably priced and we always walk away with an armful of books. The staff are really helpful with what's available in the different genres.
