Honestly I love ulta, but today I had a bad experience. As I was looking at juice beauty an employee (lady) approaches me and asks if i need help and looked at my purse as if I Shenzhen thought I was stealing. I said no thank you not yet, and she continued to stare at me....I remembered I was looking for the tarte shape and tape and asked if she could help me match my color, she looked at me confused and said sure....she didn’t even swatch colors on me or even try! She basically guessed a color and said this would be your color but we don’t have it (rudely) but the boxes were clearly there for that color, but I decided not to say anything because she was being rude and judge mental. I gave her a disappointing look and waited to see if she would suggest anything similar and didn’t, she said yeeea....and walked away I still said thank you because I’m not rude but she walked away so fast she couldn’t hear me.....I was uncomfortable the entire time there. When I go into beauty stores I want to be helped I want to be given suggestions. I was very disappointed. When I go in there dolled up I’m treated way different than when I have no makeup on and look normal. I hope this isn’t the customer service they provide everyone.

So today, I purchased Melanin hair care products at the Ulta Beauty...in Wicker Park. Parking was easy, as we all know..now that things are gentrified, it's a crowded place to shop, eat and live. Upon, entering the store, I was not greeted. As I looked around for the products I needed, 3 employees, pasted me by quickly glancing at my hands and coat...but did not say anything. When I got a chance to look someone in the eye..I asked where the products were. I wanna say 2 undercovers (that I'm sure are assigned to this location) as clumsy as they were made it a point to let me know they were near me. Honestly people, I understand you have a job to do, but you should try to treat everyone the same.. including you sis'. I made my purchase..and the young man said "thank you for shopping"...but honestly I feel like I let them down by not having stolen something..or my payment didn't go through. I believe in second chances...but it will probably be a long time for another opportunity.

Very negative experience. I walked in and was greeted by a person standing by the door and was asked if I needed help finding anything or a basket. I declined and went about looking for what I had come in for. The person who had greeted me at the door was two displays across from me- following me and watching as I shopped. I could see their eyes following my hands. They approached me four separate times to ask if I needed help or a basket. I work in customer service myself, so I immediately recognized this as an attempt to protect assets and insure nothing was being stolen. Long story short- I am a heavily tattooed woman and was immediately deemed a threat and followed throughout my entire experience. Extraordinarily unnecessary and completely disrespectful. I will be returning everything I purchased in that visit on the principle of not wanting to support a company that allows employees to continue harmful and demeaning behavior towards those whose appearance is different.

I visited on June 6 roughly around 620pm. It’s sad that as soon as you step one foot into this Ulta they begin to follow you. Keep in mind, I’m the only Hispanic in this store, everyone else was white. Instantly, someone approached me asking what I needed and they walked me to the section and instead of offering more help she just hovered behind me. I would move to different isles since I was shopping for Kylie and some lip products and the whole time she walked behind me pretending to be on the phone while still looking at me. She made me feel really uncomfortable and made me feel little compared to the other shoppers. Racial profiling at its finest right after they got robbed by two white men the week prior to…. (My sister was present the day it happened so she saw the whole thing happen and told me) Luckily someone else walked up to her and asked for help and that was the only way she removed herself from where I was.

I had a Make-up and hair service done by Luisa. My entire back was soaked from the shampoo wash and I had to ask her a few times to please blow-dry my back because my shirt was so wet. Then, I asked for a blowout but she had put so much product in my hair that it looked flat and lifeless. When it came time to do my makeup she grabbed a tester moisturizer from the store and was about to put it on my face without sanitizing it. I was like people stick there hands in that all day long...I honestly had to stop her half way thru the makeup application because I was starting to look like a clown and the eyeliner was like zigzagged on. I wouldn't have written this review if she had apologized but also she had a bit of an attitude the entire time too. Thankfully none of it was charged and the manager was very apologetic. I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1 because the manager went above and beyond to make it right.

Had a great experience with Milagros. I came in looking for a new sunscreen because my old one got discontinued and I'm almost out of it. As I was making my way to the sunscreen aisle, milagros greeted me with a warm smile and ask if I needed help, I kindly Said no. She then tells me to let her know if I had any questions she'll be happy to answer. A few minutes went by and I did felt overwhelmed with so many options. I couldn't find milagros and decided to ask another employee for help and recommendations for sunscreens. She seemed uninterested in helping me and just pointed me in the direction of the sunscreen she uses but I didn't like that one cause I tried it before. I ran into milagros again and she helped me find the perfect sunscreen. She asked opened ended questions and ranged me out. All in all this was good customer service.

Cannot rave enough about the customer service that I experienced at Ulta. I had an event in January and wanted to get my makeup done, I didn’t plan ahead and unfortunately all of my usual spots were booked. However, I ventured into the wicker park Ulta and had the most wonderful experience. Milagro, the GM, approached me and asked if I needed help. I told her about my situation and ask if there was anyone that could do my makeup. She informed they were fully booked BUT she could reach out to the Dior rep and see if he could help me. Jose, the incredibly talented makeup artist, did an absolutely fantastic job and I received compliments all night long. I cannot thank Milagro enough for going above and beyond for me, her and Jose truly saved the day.

I went to ultra beauty for the first time! They have such a wide range of products and prices that it has something for anyone and their budget. I've avoided this place until now because I always assumed it was like Sephora and expensive but was happy to see that they offer a lot of different products at an array of prices. I will definitely go back for more beauty products in the future. They have a lot of the brands you see in the grocery store but they offer a lot more items from each brand like Revlon, Maybelline, elf, etc. If you want to treat yourself or have more options on a budget for, check it out! I bet you'll find something's to treat yourself with. Great store and the employee always give great service.

The manager, Lori, was absolutely unconcerned about customer service. Though there were plenty of employees wandering the store, Lori was the only employee working the checkout counter. There were 6 people in line while she very slowly rung up items and chatted with customers. When a second employee finally came to the counter to assist, Lori walked away from her register. It would have been acceptable if she had at least acknowledged customers in line and apologized for the wait. She did not. When she returned and I asked to speak to the manager, she scoffed and said it was 'unintentional' and she didn't notice people waiting. She was rude, dismissive, and clearly not able to handle managerial duties.

Shopping experience was great! Very helpful and friendly staff. Their service was immediate, they were able to steer me toward the right products and, considering it was peak hours, they were well stocked and had exactly what I needed including an eyeshadow palette and a concealer for my under eye but I don't want to look like I'm wearing anything because I wanted to be a natural. Anyway, the girls there tried several products and color combinations to match my skin color. They did a fantastic job finding a concealer that looked completely transparent and natural. And only in one product. How awesome it was. made me feel at ease and made my experience a pleasant and memorable one. Love Ulta beauty.

I have been to this location several times and the customer service is absolutely horrible. Especially a cashier named " Ayele" why do you have someone working there who is unfriendly, cold and doesn't smile. She doesn't explain products properly and has a bad attitude. This is the third time she's attended to me and it's been a horrible experience with her skills. The corporate office will be contacted. She handed me my receipt but forgot my change ...ugh! She tried to charge me two different prices for the same products...disgusting! What kinds of people are you guys hiring! Her skills are unprofessional and maybe she should be working but not with people!!!!!!

After finding that my favorite foundation is not actually cruelty free, I was in search for one that’s comparable. I wasn’t expecting to have much luck. However, Jose was very genuine, didn’t advertise the products or push for sales, but carefully listened to my needs and recommended truly fantastic products! The foundation is exactly what I was looking for and more! I asked for a couple of other items, and was offered to try sample sizes of them first to see if they work for me before committing to full size. Jose also offered helpful skincare and application tips. I look forward to following up for more of Jose’s guidance soon!

I had such a great experience here I had to give a review! I didn’t ask her name but my receipt says Lupita OMG I love her !! Give her her own store she gave me I believe the best experience I could have ever had ! I had so many questions about makeup she answered every one! She went above and beyond and is so knowledgeable about makeup! I appreciate her and will definitely be back again ! Lastly I came in literally abt 30 min before close she still didn’t care didn’t rush me or anything I can go on and on abt the experience I had, but they don’t give enough room for me to express how truly amazing she is Thanks again!!

What's up with this place , so I took the wife to buy some stuff, the service it's fine I guess. My complaint is the climate inside the store , as I walked the aisles, I was just wearing a hoodie, It started getting really cold , I was wondering why . I asked one of ladies working there , she said the heaters were off . What in the the 3rd world country is this . It's December and pretty darn cold outside, for these poor ladies working there . Why does management have no consideration for these ladies, and costumers. Can someone please help.

Service was not that great. I went in some time last week, I was hoping to find new products to fill up my makeup bag. There was no associates on the floor available to help. I saw 3 associates up at the register & 2 of them were doing nothing but flipping through a magazine. I asked one of them for help and she just pointed to the general direction of where to find the brand. After awhile Abby finally helped me find new products to replace everything in my makeup bag, she even gave me a few samples with my purchase.

I went in only to return a eyeshadow pallet set. As soon as I entered I went straight to the cashier who was already working with a customer. Monica approaches the register area to help me. I tell her I’m here to return and she begins to check me out to purchase. I corrected her that I was returning the item and she rolled her eyes and said “you don’t say”. She continued to give me attitude until the very end of the transition. Absolutely the worst customer service.

I was here yesterday Friday afternoon, as I walked in, there was nobody greeting. I made my way to the hair products and there was No employees out on the floor. I thought maybe they were helping customers. I finally go up to the registers and 3 employees were having a good time. I can’t remember the name of the girl who helped me but She was very polite and helpful. This store needs greeters and help on the floors. I don’t think I’ll be returning to this location.

If I could give this place one star I would ... they ruined my hair .. completely ruined it .. you should see how I look... I asked for the ombré and they bleached multiple times I had to go twice ... the first time they said that i. Don't like it I could go a second time for free .. the second time I got a bill again ::: how awful .. I don't recommend ultas salon .. now my hair is half black half blonde .: there's no words for it .. I'm so disappointed

Stopped by on my way from work, was completely ignored by every worker. I was looking for new fragrance scent to try and I was just scolded and stared at by the workers around me. I would hate to see other customers coming from 8+ hour work shifts and be ignored or mistreated for not looking like an “ideal” customer. I would hate to think or say this is how they treat customers who come in looking a little different than most. It really is a shame.

I absolutely loved this Ulta! I’m new to town and was searching for an ulta with a parking lot (lol, just not used to the city yet) - and I stumbled across this one. From the moment I stepped in I felt so welcomed. I went in for concealer and left with a brand new foundation, a brow wax and several products because the team was so knowledgeable. Not just trying to upsell, but take the time to learn me and what I needed during that day. Bravo!

Took a while to find anyone to help. Finally found an associate to assist, only to have the associate direct me to a product that did not fit what I was looking for. Clearly specified what I needed, trusted the associate provided me with the correct product so I moved forward with the purchase. Made the mistake of relying on the associate and didn’t closely review the item. Realized once I got home, the product was NOT what I requested.

I live downtown and typically go to the loop, Hyde park and Greek Town/West Loop locations. However, I happened to be in the neighborhood when I stopped by this location. Milagro made my experience so amazing that I will now be coming to this location moving forward. She was extremely kind, helpful, thoughtful, accommodating and warm. I was in absolute awe of her costumer service and have been since last week. She’s a gem.

Informed and fantastic staff. I went in wanting lotion and the person recommended a product that another location had rather than telling me to buy from their stock. I really respect the honesty and care these employees give. This is always my first stop when looking for personal care products because of the trust I have with the staff I have interacted with in my experience.

I love ulta but this place isnt all that great!.they always seem to have an attitude especially the manager Lori....I dont even ask for help because they seem to be bothered when you do or they dont know..... the only special thing about this Ulta is the Brow service ...Tino is the best and such a sweetheart I love him and his brow work is amazing thank you!

While shopping for a friend, I was taking pictures of products to text to her, one of the workers scolded me- indicating I cant take pictures, which is fine, I stopped , no worries, and walked out the store- She didn't care why I was taking them. Some people will remain a "worker". The owner of the store would have never treated me in this manner.... SMH

Had an incident where a gift card wasn't working due to some missing #s. It wasn't anyone's fault but was kept there a long time while they contacted customer service. It was finally figured out but store clerk or manager was kind enough of giving me some samples to enjoy for my inconvenience. It was very nice of her and I appreciate her thoughtfulness.

Had a hair dresser at this location and another in Kansas City buzz my under cut with no problem. Called today to make an appointment and the hairdresser said "uh we don't do that we're not a barbershop"... Since when do hair salons and stylists not know how to do undercuts? They better get with the times! Undercuts have been around for years now. Lol

I would not recommend getting your hair dyed here if you have curly hair/ethnic hair. I asked for a balayage with blonde; instead, the hairstylist dyed the front of my hair blonde and kept the back black. It's like color blocking. My hair looks awful when tied up which is how I style my hair often. a complete waste of money & time & products.

Waited in line for a while on Sunday, June 24th. Both cashiers saw me, but when one finally became available, she chose to check out someone that walked right up. I stood up for myself and said, I was in line. Rudely one of the cashiers said you are standing in the wrong place. Left without purchasing and no plans to spend money here again.

I appreciate that the staff here is attentive but I feel like they sometimes hound me when I'm just trying to take my time. I even left and went to the north avenue location once because I felt uncomfortable shopping with them watching my every move and asking if I needed help every corner I turned.

Every time I've stopped by this location I have had a good experience. Today a very nice associate named Denise helped me find the right shade of the Juvia's Place foundation and an affordable concealer from NYX. I definitely recommend checking out this location if you're in the area.

There's nowhere to park bicycles outside, but one of the associates said I was more than welcome to park my bicycle inside while I shopped! And another quickly pointed me in the direction of the masks I was looking for. Awesome friendly staff.

Ulta used to be a favourite of mine but this new layout is horrendous !! Shampoos were separated from conditioners by the whole floor ,And inappropriately labelled as well !! I will say that the sales staff are always great here though

Seems like there are only 2 employees that work there at a time. There have been numerous times I've had to wait 15 + minutes for help then received terrible help and was rushed. From the manager as well....
