I run a small business that depends on USPS to get my product to their customers. Only a few days before Christmas they decided to close early (I got there 5:02 and they close 5:30). I got to the gate while other people were still inside sending their packages but she refused to let me in. I got the Smith's store manager who also tried to get her to let me in with no success. I called customer service and left a report. A supervisor called and told me that it was unacceptable and she would be spoken to and that it would never happen again. That is great for the future, but due to not being able to get my packages sent on time I had to refund my customers shipping costs and then pay for an upgraded shipping method on my own dollar to not lose good standing in my shop. When I asked for compensation the supervisor said I could have gone to another post office so I couldn't get refunded. There was no physical way to get to any other post office before they closed. He said not to wait until that close to closing next time. I am a mother of four children under age ten and a full time student at UNM. I go when I have the oppurtunity. They had a job to do and they failed to do it but also tried to pass blame to me. Horrible service!

When I first moved to Albuquerque and was looking for my nearest Post Office location- I saw that it was this one. The VERY first thing I noticed were the poor reviews, (which was very concerning to me as an online Seller.) I took a chance, and now I have now been going to this Post Office several days a week for 5 straight months to ship, and NOT ONCE have they EVER lost or mishandled my shipments in any way. 99.99% of the time, the guy named “CHRIS” is working- he’s always friendly, fast, and helpful. He gets you in & out in a timely manner, and takes the best of care of your shipments. He’s usually working by himself at the front, (Possibly the ONLY one working?)- but any lines that may form out front move along quickly, and as with any business, certain times of the day are worse than others! I really love my new Post Office! This is a great post office!

I tried to mail a package in the morning. The post office was supposed to be open, it wasn’t. I waited, but after 15 minutes I left. I came back later and the postal worker was closing to take a smoke break. So, I left and came back the next day. When I arrived I was the only one in there. So, I walked to the counter and she didn’t look up, but instead said please wait and I’ll be right with you. I had a prepaid box so I set it on the counter in front of her. She said in a very rude tone, “you need to put it over there” I set it on the counter she gestured to. She then says, “ You need to put it in the boxes so that no one steals it!” What I need to do it never come back to this post office. The postal “worker” is a miserable, lazy, no good excuse for an employee.

Usually pretty fast when the guy is here but today there is a lady here who I’ve never seen before. She took more than 10 minutes to ship 2 packages for someone while more than 9 other of us were in line. The worst and longest wait I’ve ever experience. She’s complaining to a customer about other customers being mean. If she was more focused on speed, the line would go by faster. Instead, she shows no enthusiasm, energy or care for people looking to deliver package. A lack of professionalism. It’s nice because this place is close to home but if this is the new normal, don’t come here. I spent a total of 25 min in line and I was the 3rd person from the counter when I started timing it.

I ordered my daughters 1st bday gift it said it was delivered to my door. When checking our camera it never was . I went and spoke with a worker he took all my information and said there was a lady who looks into things like this since he had no clue how to look into this situation. I never ever received a call a letter nothing! I truly believe the postal worker stole my daughters gift! I went in after 6 weeks of hearing nothing and no one had a clue what I was talking about the worker never put in any of my information, what did he do with my information??? Here again another 3 weeks later nothing has been done!!

I have gone in numerous times to drop of simple things like a letter or a package and they're closed when they are supposed to be open. I went in at 440pm... they weren't supposed to be closed ti ll 530. Other days they open half an hour to an hour late. The staff is lazy and are always on break. Even the smiths manager agreed with me when I complained to them. I hate this usps and have to go to other locations further away just to avoid stupidity and making up business hours as they please.

It’s run by ONE PERSON all day. People here complaining that they close for lunch are ridiculous. Just look up the hours. And yes I’ve been there when it was closed due to computer issues and other problems, but that’s not a reason to complain. Things happen. And dealing with rude customers all day don’t make the staff any friendlier. The woman working there is friendly to me because I’m friendly to her. That’s how life goes.

Worst USPS office in all Albuquerque, the lady there is always mad, racist and make people feel very uncomfortable, I sell a lot of stuff on ebay and the other day I took about 20 free envelopes and she told me off arguing I took 100 pieces, I insisted it was 20 and she said No, no and no and could be more....please use another office if you can, or switch to Fedex ......

Went in yesterday at lunch to mail a card to my mom for valentines day. I was expecting a wait, after all it was lunch time. I pulled up and parked in the spot reserved for USPS. walked in and was greeted by an awesome employee named Chris. He had me in and out in about two minutes. My experience here was pretty awesome.

Best post office I've been to. The woman working there is always super friendly and helpful. I see a lot of people complaining about the hours but just check them before you go. I used to go to the Richard pino station and always had HORRIBLE service there. I try and go to this location inside Smith's when I can

Esa señora (Angela) muy desagradable el servicio, un señor quería enviar una carta y estaba en silla de ruedas y no alcanzaba para meterla en la caja de las cartas y ella no lo ayudo, me dio mucho coraje... si no quieren pasar un mal rato no vengan aquí gente... the worsts service ever!!

Worst post office in town . They are under staffed ,rude , close early , don't scan packages till the next day ,Loose packages ,send them back to you instead of to addressee .Go somewhere else anywhere else hire a donkey send it by carrier pigeon. If you mailed something here pray !

The guy that works here is very rude my daughters birthday gift sat in his station for over 24 hours before he would even attempt to go look for it stating it was not his job to go find my package my daughter finally recieved her gift a day late the employees here should be fired

Door was locked. Hours of operation was posted on the door yet no one was there. Started Googling other locations when a young lady with blue hair showed up and unlocked the door. She told is that she was on her lunch break and to she wouldn't be open for another half an hour.

I am the current postmaster here as we were closed from Oct 2020-Dec 2022. We relocated from the Smith's grocery store and were not cleared to open until last month. So any review in that time is obsolete.. We look forward to serving the community for many years to come!

Given the overwhelmingly positive experiences I have had at this post office, I am genuinely surprised at the slew of negative reviews. I have found the woman who comprises the entirety of the full-time staff to be friendly, helpful and accommodating in all respects.

Always helpful. Staff is courteous and knowledgeable. Convenient location inside Smiths. And if you ask nicely they do have free supplies available, they just don't leave everything out in the open for obvious reasons. Never had a bad experience there.

Well this is a pretty horrible post office. Unfriendly and no work ethic. If the United States Post Office wants to upgrade there performance, they should start here. Also, update your Google business listing. It says you are open til 5:30!

Not allowed to use the tape after I purchased a shipping label for $6.. Had to buy my own tape. Lady was rude and snippy. Had another guy there literally wrapping his package in tape, but I can't use 4 pieces on an envelope mailer. Rude

I attempted to enter this post office at exactly 5:19 and the female clerk shouted "I'm closed" and then she mumbled an obscenity at me. The 5:30 closing time listed is subject to the whim of this super crabby postal worker.

I had to buy my own tape from smiths and when I went to the desk to ship it the lady asked for my receipt for the tape I had to buy because she thought I stole the tape. She was very very very rude and didn’t help us at all.

I just drove in and a lady walked right in, I tried to enter but the door is bolted shut. I can see the lights are on and a lady just walked in. No one has come out to open the door. Anyone else experiencing this?

Does this place have a manager? A district manager? Because they love to make up their own hours. Four times I went here and they were closed. I understand they close for lunch hours but is that from 11am-3pm?

Rude people, supposed to open at 11am, they show up at 1145, them make you wait until 12pm to help you. Other customers complain that they are always late, rude, not really working, just walking around, etc.

I went to ship out two envelopes. I had to wait 1 1/2 hours. There was just one lady on the counter. She was very friendly. Usps needs to schedule more personnel during busy times. The wait was horrendous.

If I was able to rate this store with no stars I absolutely would because this store lacks consistency in the workers because I arrive at times that it is scheduled to be open and no one is there.

Cant get much worse than this place, the US postal service has never been know for their great customer service skills but this place takes the cake for the worse post office experience ever

Perfect location for this side of town. Very fast and friendly. Make sure you check open and lunch times they do vary daily. I highly recommend this location and hope it stays here forever

7/31/20 - Waiting outside for 40 minutes while the workers are inside the store talking. Asked them when they are opening, and the guy told me I am more than welcome to go to another store

The guy that works at this location is ridiculous. He refuses to take packages that other locations would take no problem. Very unprofessional and irritating to deal with.

Have to agree with other there is never anyone here when they say there open also they must get 2 hour lunch brakes. Don’t understand government run place but no stability

This is not a legitimate United Stated Post Office. This is one of those small businesses that rent out mail boxes and provide other services. They are never open though.

The 640 coors is no longer there...the post office in Smiths is not there either. I went to both locations.. can we please get a Post Office near Uncer and Ladera area.

The staff is Awesome, too many customers come here expecting express service. The lady who works there has been a champion for the past 5 years I have been coming.

It's a nice post office when it's actually open. they tend to close earlier than their listed hours and that's a bummer if you're trying to make it before close.

This location is never open when it's supposed to be. The hours are horrible anyway even if they were actually open during the regular hours.

Angela is union and she has no reason to be nice to customers.. USPS hires tier 3 people to work for a failing system. Go figure.

I ship lots of packages weekly. Angela is very nice people person never had a issue. Always courteous and helpful.

It opens @11:00am. I’ve never waited more than a couple minutes. Probably the fastest post office in Albuquerque.

This location is self-serve only. The location on Broadway is the closest to actually post packages or mail.
