"Horrible experience"
"I’m giving this rating because of the tech that helped me"
"My doctor’s office placed an order for a prescription in the morning"
"The pharmacy here is terrible"
"Good location great staff and I understand there's a homeless issue in Chicago BUT Walgreens needs to make sure the homeless don't try to direct the customers coming into the store"
Horrible experience. I tried filling a prescription before my trip and it was delayed and naturally didn't get filled until the Monday that I left. I figured I would get it when I got back, and I came in Sunday morning as soon as I was back and the pharmacy was completely closed which it does not mention online. That was extremely frustrating but I figured I would get it the next day (Monday). Today (Monday) I get a text saying they'll hold my prescription 5 more days. I was planning on getting it this afternoon after some work meetings when suddenly I get a text that my order was cancelled. I called and they gave my medicine to someone else? I have never heard of this being done and cannot fathom why I would get notified that my prescription is being held and then an hour later it is given away? I really need this and attempted to get it but was unable to pick it up due to the closure. Now I can't get a medicine I really need until tomorrow. Terrible experience.
I’m giving this rating because of the tech that helped me. Porshay, you were literally the sweetest person I’ve talked to that entire day at all 5 different Walgreens locations I’ve been too trying to get my antibiotic. You gave the best customer service I’ve ever received anywhere. Thank you for taking time out your shift to make sure there was a Walgreens that actually had my prescription and for comforting me during my frustration and crying. She was literally everything I needed that day and I’m so grateful to her. And she gave it to every customer before and after me too. She deserves a raise!!!
My doctor’s office placed an order for a prescription in the morning. They said it would be ready by noon. Ended up going around 3pm to pick up, they had no record of the prescription being placed. My doctor’s office called and talked to the pharmacist who said he had forgotten and would be filling it ASAP as I waited. After a time I went to ask if it was ready, and they said they were out of that particular drug. I left. Pharmacist called my doctor’s office back trying to find another place that had it. Zero communication with me, the customer when I was right there in store. Very poor.
The pharmacy here is terrible. I had to get a refill, and the woman at the counter told me to come back the next day, because my insurance wouldn't cover it that specific day but would cover it the next day. When I came back the following day, a different woman behind the counter was telling me that I had just been in last week to refill a 90-day supply and there was no refill for me. I showed her my small bottle and explained what transpired the day before, but she just couldn't help me. I finally called the doctor's office and had my refill sent to CVS instead.
Good location great staff and I understand there's a homeless issue in Chicago BUT Walgreens needs to make sure the homeless don't try to direct the customers coming into the store. I complained to staff after a homeless man screamed at me for using the door(he said I should use the other set). My response was that he needed to be more polite and not tell people where to go. I also stated he was rude for shouting at me in front of my family. I complained to management and they did nothing. As we left the store, the man came up to us and demanded we apologize.
This Walgreen's Optical has become my go-to for great prices and awesome customer service when it comes to my vision! Barbara and Maria are so kind and professional and always make me feel well taken care of. I came during their annual holiday party and purchased designer frames for 50% off, then when my lenses came in and the prescription was a little off, they took care of everything and I had my new and improved glasses in less than a week! They're truly the best, but don't take my word for it. Go find out for yourself!
Absolutely 0 stars. We struggled to get a prescription filled for my very sick mother and tried all day yesterday with no success. Went here first thing this morning and the pharmacy is closed because there’s no pharmacist. There are random techs sitting outside saying to come back later. Why can’t you just go back and get the prescription out of the back with my name on it? You are a PHARMACY. Some people cannot come back later and need their prescriptions because your pharmacist decided not to show up.
So last night my tire blew out in front of this location. As we were waiting for roadside assistance, one of the employee's boyfriends came to pick her up. They BOTH started cursing at me and threatening me because my truck was "in the way" although the million other cars that passed it drove around with no problem. For a person to act like this in front of their place of employment with a customer who had just made a purchase there is a reflection of management and low standards that they are held to.
I was in shock with the size of this big wall greens. Here you can find anything you are used to finding at any Walgreens location but besides the normal things you also find in a corner Freshii, this is a franchise that I saw in different places here in Chicago, they sell sushi, wraps, sandwiches and more. On the second floor, I read that they have the pharmacy. The service was nice and fast and the prices were awesome. Here’s what I got my little souvenirs from Chicago.
The pharmacy at this Walgreens could be better. The people working there are friendly & helpful but I’ve been going there for about a year and they without fail mess up my fill every single month. I’ve got a couple of different prescriptions (the same every month though) but they can’t seem to get it straight (try to fill the wrong thing and have issues with my insurance, etc) and I always have to come back at least once, sometimes several times.
Avoid the sushi; it tastes rotten and made me feel sick. I took the time to email the company about it, and even mentioned the supplier and other details, and all I got was a lengthy response full of corporate-speak (i.e., it didn't seem personalized). They didn't even offer to refund my money (which other chain stores usually do if there's a problem). The rest of the store is very interesting style-wise and has more items than other locations.
I'm 50 and I got ID'd!! That might sound like a compliment but at 50 it's clearly policy, not my youthful good looks. That’s fine but I had no ID so I had to go away without my wine. Personally I think it's wrong that you put in place silly little rules that cause inconvenience to your customers just to avoid offending anyone. I'll shop somewhere run by a person with a brain going forward!
Nice location, but we wandered around completely lost without anyone asking if we needed help ... maybe if your employees weren't hanging out in the last isle talking to each other like they're on break you could help someone ... if I'd overheard work related stuff I'd have been more understanding, but what I heard had nothing to do with work. I expected more out of Walgreens!!!
Most amazing Walgreens I've ever been to in the country, though I understand the ones in San Francisco are similar. They have a flat rate, self serve frozen yogurt bar such was its best feature for us, they also had fresh cutter fruit at reasonable prices. They also sell/serve fresh Sushi and soups which is a unique combo. Finally, offers a nice outdoor searing area to enjoy!
I work a few steps far from this Walgreens and I simply hate this place. It is convenient, but their prices are ridiculous. Way higher than at any other Walgreens. Also, the store design is terrible, aisle organization is simply a mess. The other day I found the same product on a bottom shelf priced half of the same product that was placed on the top of the same shelf!!!
If you’re looking to make a simple purchase for what I assumed was a common product (milk), don’t bother. They carry lots of exceptionally overpriced versions of “milk” (soy, almond, etc.), but not regular milk. I also noticed that they have acres of shelves devoted to soda and energy drinks but fail to offer something as simple and common as milk…*sigh*
The folks are very friendly and helpful BUT, Buyer Beware! As a tourist I bought souvenir coffee mugs, Walgreens was very slick:( they placed the price tag over the instruction that the mud is neither dishwasher safe or oven proof, after the first use and placing in dishwasher the mug was ruined, the decals all shrunk off, and I bought 5 of them as gifts
5 stars strictly for the employees. They're amazing every time I come here - this is my local Walgreen's and I have zero complaints. EXTREMELY irritated with corporate though. Why do you have ONE cashier at each station for a Michigan Ave store?? Hard for the employees, long waits for customers. You can afford it, put more employees on your registers!
Manager would not show me where the chips were. He just pointed, and said over there. I was lost, and he kept pointing. The old prepared food here is overpriced. e.g. sushi or Freshii The nasty bathroom was opened with a line of approx. six customers waiting. Its worth it to find another Walgreens a couple of blocks away.
Would let us in had 10 mins left to be open. Very ruse to lock the door when customers may need to grab one thing before close. I have worked at a grocery store for many years and would never close the door early to paying people. If they kick people our 10 mins prior then that should be told to the public.
Maric, a cashier at this location was very very kind to me. He's been consistently kind but even when I came in late on a rainy evening, while everyone else was counting down to the end of their shift, Maric went above and beyond to make sure I got my photos printed. Thank you Maric!!!!
Limited selection of items, but it's typically pretty clean. They sell the touristy stuff at decent prices. There's a small bathroom upstairs. It's a handy stop for shirts, caffeinated beverages, and a bathroom break when taking friends/family around town.
Went there to get tampons and was greeted rudely by the staff on the 2nd floor. I was then followed from end to end of the 2nd floor by what I found out later was one of the managers so there isn't really much I can do, I suppose. Disgusting behavior.
You better hope you don't need an item unlocked in the pharmacy section. You'll be waiting 15-20 mins just to get an item removed. Suggestion, if you can't unlock an item under 5 mins, you probably shouldn't be locking them to began with.
This is a great location. The employees are really nice and prompt. The only things that suck about this location are the hours. They close at six in the evening - the pharmacy does anyway. Who does that?
They seem to really follow minorities in here... I feel as though they think I'm going to steal just because I look different from them... it's very uncomfortable and i will never go in there again!!!
Nice location, but the manager had an attitude. She ignored me when I tried to tell her that their bathroom upstairs was really dirty and unsanitary. I guess they don't want anyone to shop there.
This walgreens location is actually big! They have already made sandwiches salads, and more! The time we came we accidentally dropped a salad but the person was friendlier than expected about it!
This location has a drive through. The line is usually pretty fast but in the cold, flu, and allergy seasons the line can be quite long. This location is not 24 hrs at the time of this posting.
Wouldn’t recommend getting your vaccination at this location. Even if you book an appointment they ask you to wait for 40mins. While I can see the pharmacist is right there doing other things.
2 floors, clean. I had to get a last minute Christmas card, gift bag, and card here. If you need something convenient and nearby, you can find it here - snacks, drinks, makeup, otc meds, etc.
Whatever you do, avoid this location for vaccines. I waited an entire hour to get my vaccine. They have absolutely no respect for your time despite having such specific appointment bookings.
Had to go to store (Walgreens) while visiting Chicago. Nice store! Clean and very well stocked. 3 checkout girls, in & out quick. I went on Friday night about 9:30pm and no security issues.
CSA number 205 was very rude and nasty. One thing Walgreens corporate hate is a rude CSA not to mention in their phone not giving customers their undivided attention. The nerve of Ms Daj.
The pharmacist in this pharmacy will certainly give you the best prescription and recommend it. They were very frank and very trustworthy. I love this drug store's overall operation!
A branch in historic great building. Well preserved , decorated in its style and handy for passing by tourists and offices employees in neighbourhood. Clean , well organised. Bravo.
For such a beautiful store, what desinterested staff. Walls are just walls. People are everything. The girl who helped me, either did not want to be here or hates people. Yuck.
Great location and easy to grab stuff. Staff is quick and polite. Lines can get a bit long so plan ahead. They are fully stocked on everything!
I want say thank you so much for Jen she was very helpful kind nice personality thanks Jen for your helping Me to find what I was looking
This is a very nice Walgreens, it even has a frozen yogurt counter. The staff was very friendly and made jokes with me at the checkout.
The pharmacy is great, especially for its pharmacy director, Ellie. She is professional, knowledgeable and kind to her customers.
I went to this Walgreens two weeks ago and all the employees were so nice and helpful! Definitely recommend you go it’s so nice!
Awful! Attendants and manager are xenophobic. Bad treatment to the foreigner clients. This place must be closed! Avoid it!
Nice branch clean two levels , got myself lovely sevoneir , chips and some medicines very friendly staff
The store is clean and the staff is helpful. Not much more you can ask for from a local pharmacy store.
It's well stock but it feel like it need more lights. It was sort of dark inside the store.
made appointment for flu shot but still have to wait 40 minutes and more
Cashiers are rude and the managers are okay with that
Staff is always super friendly at the west counter
Avoid this place!! VERY RUDE EMPLOYEES!!
