Having grown up near Knox city and my kid’s grandparents live close we visit very often. We went today with a friend to visit the sushi train at the ozone but most importantly I suggested it because of the new outdoor basketball court that I knew our basketball obsessed kids would love. We traveled from Seaford but when we got there it was closed for a private clinic. This was very disappointing as we checked the website beforehand and there was a mention of a basketball event but not much info and nothing that it would be closed to the public. They luckily ended up having fun at the playground next to it considering their ages are 10 to 12. I called centre management when I got home to suggest they update the website to say the basketball court was closed for the public on school holidays on the clinic days but was told by a gentleman that it was owned by the council and nothing to do with the centre but he would pass on my feedback. Not sure if that was correct or not but I don’t think it . Centre looks great though and can’t wait to see the rest of the stores when they open. Lucky the kids like sushi as no other options for food really except a cafe at the other end near coles and baker’s delight. I love Asian food but it’s overkill and I prefer it for dinner, can be heavy for lunch and not very kid friendly. Hope they open a food court like they use to have with subway etc
It’s really disappointing having to put this review up because I do love Knox City and the renovations looks great, but the customer service skills from centre management have been really poor. I went to the movies over three weeks ago and was double charged for my parking space for some unknown reason. What should have been a $35 fee blew out closer to $50 dollars. I contacted centre management about refunding me the amount and am still yet to receive anything. I am understanding that these things can take time and that’s okay, but it just seems like no one has any idea what’s going on when I’ve called up to ask what’s going on. I’ve had to call up three times only to get the same answer, you’ll just have to wait. I will acknowledge that Ben, one of the customer service officers I spoke with was quite helpful, the others were not. It seems quite ludicrous that it takes three weeks to receive a refund for an error that was made on their end. I’m incredibly frustrated and annoyed at the lack of concern and consideration for customers. It’s such a shame, the dining precinct and theatre are such a great social hub but I doubt I’ll be rushing back anytime soon with these ludicrous parking fees. You would be better off going to Chadstone, Fountain Gate or even Century City.
I went to Knox to have dinner and movie with my family. It is now paid parking now. Absolutely greedy and what an absolute disgrace. I parked my car at around 5:45pm and left a bit before 11pm which was a bit over 5 hours and paid $20 parking!!!! What an absolute rip-off. I even downloaded the Westfield members app and added my number plate to it to get the discounted parking fee and still had to pay $20 for parking for only a bit over five hours. Also, when I left the boom gates were up so was a bit confused about that too. Thank goodness I did not have to pay for my dinner and movie tonight otherwise it would’ve been a very expensive evening for me. I should’ve taken public transport tonight and I would not have had to pay anywhere near that to get to Knox. If you are justifying paid parking to pay off all the renovations and development at Knox, then it would’ve been better if you just stayed as you were before all the renovations and developments And have free parking. I will not be back for movie and dinner there any more at Knox. I can’t justify the cost of parking any more to go there. Good riddance.
Went out for dinner and a movie tonight 21/11/23 but then couldn't figure out how to pay for parking. We had dinner at Fonda (amazing btw) and saw a pay machine accross from it but retuned later after the movie to find that it wasn't operational. We pressed the help button but I don't think that worked either. There seemed to be no way to pay so we thought we'd pay at the gate maybe but it tried charging $30 more than expected and had card reader issues. No one answered the call button there either. There's no cash option at the broke machine or gate. We opted to reverse back and park. We had a mate with a tow truck come drag us out for free so f you Westfield and your "help" and illegal move of overcharging and refusing cash. Hoyts and Eastland it is next time - at least they have a train station and free parking options. Heads up everyone don't go here unless you know a towie that can help better than Westfield's help button
I actually love this shopping center, but will never park here again. Paid parking at shoping centers has always been a disgusting proposition. If I must, I'll take public transport to eat at resturants etc MAYBE, but will not make it my first choice. Obviously my shopping will have to be minimal as I will be lugging it home on a bus now. I do not think it's fair to ask people to pay parking for the privilege of getting groceries, I would recommend everyone instead shop at other locations they enjoy less for their groceries and anything else possible. . . At least they will not financially penalise you for taking your sweet time to browse, in order to get the best possible savings on food during a national cost of living crisis. Also, I just found out they charge EMPLOYEES for parking??? Are you serious?? SHAME on you Westfield! Absolutely unacceptable and completely outrageous. Shame.
Absolutely disgusting, I had a appointment elsewhere to go to and was late because I had to wait in line for more than 20 minutes to get out of the car park. Absolutely shocking! WHAT IF I HAD A LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY TO GO TO? Are you going to pay for the result of it ??? Now I am not exaggerating about waiting 20 minutes. I probably waited 25 minutes as I only looked at the time after a few minutes of waiting. Really fed up with this shopping center. Like you have nothing to offer. No Myers, no David jones, no makeup store, not even a proper food court and you want to charge customers for parking. If you want money that desperately, you need to think of a different way. Most importantly you need to update your parking system as people really have places to be. And when a emergency really occurs, your gonna be sued and sorry.
Paid parking now?! So, we have to rush around after a movie just to get out on time? It's been nice knowing you, Westfield Knox. This used to be one of our favourite hang outs. Movies, restaurant meal, coffee. A lazy stroll through the shopping center with an unexpected purchase here and there. The introduction of paid parking is a deal breaker. We will not be back. I feel sorry for the businesses in there, no doubt they're paying through the nose for rent as well. Also, I just found out that even staff are forced to pay for parking! What a disgrace. Corporate greed, at its finest. And as per your request for "specific feedback", here it is: GET RID OF YOUR PAID PARKING SCHEME AND GO BACK TO NORMAL
Went and saw Barbie with my daughter on Sunday at Village - about $60 in total. Staff were great. Went into the shops later and spent roughly another $150. There for over 3 hours - get charged $5 for parking. No cover at the boom gate so rain enters the car. The boom gate system is horribly slow and creates a bottleneck with exiting vehicles. $5 is not much but when I put over $200 into the businesses should I or anyone be expected to pay for parking. With all businesses at Knox City passing on all their costs to customers already it’s pretty rich. It just feels like Westfield is trying to get customers to pay for the centre ‘improvements’. It’s just greedy. Do better.
Access into the centre from Burwood highway coming from the east is shocking. The first set of lights to turn R at are appallingly sequenced, resulting in very long queues and wait times of up to 3 traffic light cycles before there is enough time to turn R. It has been this way ever since the dining area was installed between the centre and ozone area. No idea why this has not been addressed but between this and now the boom gates to exit I dont bother going to Knox anymore. Any centre that makes entering and exiting it harder is not worth it. I would rather drive further to chadstone, the Glen or even Eastland.
Gutted! Loved the redesign of the place and new choices in restaurants, Asian groceries etc but got stung by parking costs I was excited to use the library all day, eating out for lunch/dinner and getting groceries at the end of the day but with parking rates forget it. Why have a library but then hit people if they stick around. Even though there are other places closer, we actually travelled further to Knox but now we may have to rethink as it's not worth going there for a short time to avoid getting hit with high parking fees. No rebates either even if you spend a good deal of money there.
It is not really fair to give one star to this shopping centre. They provide an admirable service to shoppers (I had a shop here in the 90’s) and they have many great retailers. Treat this as a protest about their new parking fees which on the surface appear ok but unfairly punish moviegoers. I visit Village Cinemas with friends every fortnight and these new parking fees add an extra 20% to my movie/cafe outing. Going to a movie and eating at one of the centre’s cafes is not an abuse of parking time and should not be charged as such. Westfield need to rethink their parking strategy at Knox.
The pay gates.. the pay gates.. I waited a cruel amount of time to exit the shopping centre because people didn't have cards, or money on their cards to pay to get out. Also because, there is only one lane to turn left onto Burwood Highway and only 7 cars can fit between the lights and the gate, and seemingly 30 cars wanted to turn left. What was a quick visit to the shop, ended up and ordeal to exit the centre. My 3 free hours of parking was used up waiting in line to exit.. avoid this place at all costs. Buy online or go to a cinema or pub with hassle free parking.
DISGUSTING - Making money off the backs of workers! It's shame that such a high profile organisation makes $$ off the backs of people that work in their center. Why are you charging parking fees for employees that work in the center and are integral to keeping the stores open so you can charge rent when shoppers generally do not pay unless they spend more than 4 hours in the center. You may think a flat fee of $5 a day is reasonable but that equates to an average of $100 a month when working five days a week. It is disappointing and unfair - do better Westfield!
My daughter spent over $400 and I spent around $200 today at Knox SC, we were there 4hrs and they charged us $12 for parking!!! Theres one Asian food court and a few cafes but thats all you get inside the SC, you have to leave the centre for anything else. Construction noise never stops, I feel for those that work there and you think your centre is worth the parking fees? Fountain Gate is a far better centre. We will stick to free parking at our local centres, we won't be going back to Knox, and we will be warning our community about the extorting parking fees.
This Westfield is fairly standard. It has most shops you need, as long as you're just looking for your basic fast fashion or supermarket type products. It has a fruit and vegetable grocer in one of the food courts that I found very odd. The pedestrian access from any of the car parks are a bit of a pain to navigate around, but the bus access is decent enough. Outside the Westfield you actually have the more mainstream shops like a JB, Supercheap, Lowes, Chemist Warehouse, Rivers and a Salvos, which has its pros and cons depending on where you park.
Had my daughters number plate added to my Westfield app to get the 4 hours free parking. Spent over $400 at the shops and was out in just over 3 hours, and for some reason the numberplate didn’t register on the app and I got charged for parking. Will only go here for essentials now, no more browsing. Feel sorry for all the workers there who now have to pay for doing their job! Edit: the extra charges have now been refunded but no explanation offered as to why the app didn’t accept the number plate
Easter Sunday. 23 Now the opposite end is under renovation ! Few working escalators and lifts ! Toilets out of action ! Portable loo outside of building with steps. Not good. Many closed shop fronts. Guess the new end must be properly open now ? Too far to walk to this afternoon. Have another look tomorrow. Twisted Sista was open . Few others. 28 July 23 Not much change up one end. Coles end in total disrepair. Didn't see the other new end today.
It's a big shopping center...it got some length unlike other shopping center which have huge building...big car park and huge space everywhere...lots of shops and facilities on the shopping center but in my visit I feel like this center lack information relaying system, it was hard to find a particular shop given the area of the shopping center... The restaurant side of the shopping center was so busy as it was evening when I went there...
Price gouging for parking at a second rate car park at a second rate shopping centre. Leaking car park roof, lot's of rubbish, poor drainage, Westfield need to look after their number one asset and that's the customer and the shopping experience they have. The boom gate at the stud Rd exit is a total disgrace. The traffic jam is terrible. No more next time for me, it's off to the Glen shopping centre for me and my family Lift your game.
SHOPPERS BEWARE!! The new parking charges are completely ridiculous. The new renovation and library etc seems to encourage people to enjoy longer stays, but the outrageous fees obviously says otherwise. $30 for 6 hours, for a half empty and leaking car park. No rebate regardless of how much you spend. In the meantime, Chadstone etc offer completely free parking. You are joking. I'll be moving my visit s elsewhere.
I love this place. The o-zone area is awesome place to have dinner, with lots of choices for entertainment like timezone and the cinemas. But the paid parking is a deal breaker for me. I get that the first 3 hours are free, but if my mates and I go out for dinner and gathering, we don't wanna be looking at our watches. Or getting charged for the time we spend there, on top of the purchases we make. Ridiculous.
Disgusting that to have dinner and see a movie just cost me 8.00 for the pleasure of parking. No credit provided for seeing a movie there. Nova at Carlton don't charge for parking if you see a movie. Tried to register my car on the Westfield app but it couldn't cope with my personalised number plate. Looks like I will be going to Boronia cinemas from now. Or Cameo at Belgrave. Knox, you are a pack of thieves
It used to be a nice place to go shop. Take your time, walk around see a movie. Having changed to time limited parking and then charging exorbitant fees and or requiring mandatory signing in with an app that monitors your location, how long you shop and at which shops and how much you spend. No thanks. The intrusivness of this is beyond a joke. I'll shop online from now on. Never going back here
I went there at the end of last year and again yesterday. It's a pretty big shopping centre at that region. Lots of shops and eateries can be found. I had a baby with me and used parents room which I found awesome. My wife also loved the centre. Only downside in my opinion is too many shops are closed with dividers and it made walkways very narrow. Hopefully when they open it'll be great.
Visited for the first time in years, only to be greeted by obscenely greedy paid parking. Lunch and a movie ended up costing me $12 in parking. Joke. Won’t be returning anytime soon and if I do it’ll be for less than 3 hours, which if people start adapting to will hurt the retailers there. Stop with the greed by charging for parking which hasn’t been upgraded or changed in decades.
A completely different look from the old Knox. We have visited multiple Westfield shopping centres and Knox is up there with them. Still under renovations in some parts. The new food court where Myer used to be has a wide selection of food. Be careful if the parking though, can be very expensive. Make sure you download the Westfield members app to get 4 hours free parking.
One of the more massive Westfield shopping centres I have seen, any shop you can imagine filled and decked with quality food courts and proper facility although there is a bit of crowd swarming the area. Response: The parking is a bit too pricy for a short period of time, and again the crowd, and moving from shop-shop is difficult sometimes, especially at L1 (Level1)
CAR PARKING RIPOFF! My friend and I were charged $35 each for parking, after spending money on a movie and meal there. $70 on top of that! Never again giving my money to these rogues. If for some reason you can't afford to pay at the Checkpoint Charlie-style boomgate, you're stuck, with cars piling up behind you. Poor form Westfield. Poor design. Pure greed.
Please, remove those useless parking boom gates. They are causing gridlock, with banked up cars trying to get out blocking others trying to enter into car spaces. You have probably spent millions of $ installing the boom gates, but are probably getting no revenue from them. Yet they are causing chaos. Especially now with Christmas shopping.
It's one Mall that can make your feet tired but fret not, as you can easily find a seat for your tired feet. Basement is the place to go for your groceries ......fresh vegetables, fresh and chilled meats, etc. The Food Court though not many in numbers has several interesting outlets selling dishes from Asian Countries.
The new sections that are open are beautiful and bright, but there seems to be a perfume or smell being sprayed at all the entrance doors around the ALDI/Woolworths end. I'm really disappointed that it costs me $5 per shift just to come to work. I have had to turn down shifts as i can't afford the parking some weeks
Disgusting money grab on the parking. The longer you stay and spend money the more expensive it gets. Go to much cheaper Eastland, free Fountain Gate or Chadstone for better shopping (it’s literally still a building site), food options and experience. There’s absolutely nothing at Knox you can’t get anywhere else
The new parking fees are deterring me from spending much time there/going there at all. There's way less shops than other shopping centres I often leave empty handed, and some of the restaurants are going downhill, it's not worth paying to park there, especially when everything is getting more expensive already.
It's a bit much to force workers to pay for parking when security is non-existent and there is often rubbish lying around. One of the staff carparks is not even properly paved and has debris on the surface. I was hoping to see the new renovations would come with better parking facilities. Really disappointing!!!
Spend over $150 on dinner and then get hit with $8 car park fee. Shame on you. I get charging for parking if you are near a railway station etc. during midweek but to charge on a Saturday night after 6pm is just a grab for cash. I will NEVER be back again and am deliberately going to take my business elsewhere.
Lots of work going on .. lots of changes additions going on .. Aldi , woolies added new swimming pool , basket ball stadium … new food court but mostly Asian and five to six sushi shops are too many … food court need balance with multi cultural varieties.. parking getting expensive.. overall good experience
I just loved this place.. everything you need is here.. it's sooo good to have everything in one place - from groceries to diamonds.. they also have restrooms.. there are nice varieties of food shops available which is nice.. I loved the interior of this place.. it's sooo pretty.. highly recommended!!
Huge food court! Ample parking. Everything you need for a family shop, all under one roof. Fresh food market is great! Ozone is definitely worth a visit, includes various cuisine for suit even the fussiest of eaters in your family. Have tried Miss Pickle, San Churros, Kinn Thai, Grilled and Fonda.
First time visited this place. It seems a nice place, however the contruction inside caused dust and noises. Outside dining areas are nice and great. A lot of option including cinema. Free parking and big parking area. Hope to see the construction completed soon and so, more shops reopening.
My car was damaged in the car park and the person did not leave contact details. And the centre charged me for parking just over 3 hours. I have never been charged for parking at a shopping centre before. Avoid this shopping centre if you can. There are safer and better ones around.
Westfield Knox has undergone a multi million makeover in the last couple of years. It is no longer the tired old complex it was for many years. They have done a magnificent job with the makeover. Lots of new businesses. More eating places. An excellent market. A great facelift.
Newly renovated and looks much better than the cramped 'feeling' I get previously. The Food Station has quite a variety of cooking to satisfy the tastebuds. I have not fully checked out the other shops yet but will certainly be visiting the shopping centre next weekend.
I have no problem with the paid parking but when the car spots are so badly marked you can't see where your parking because the they need a repaint, it's a bit of a joke. The same goes for the speed humps & crossings esp in the Ozone area. It's a bit of a safety issue.
Wow, a simple shopping experience turned into a kid in a candy store. The upgrade is fantastic. A cultured experience not to be missed. Friendly faces in every store I went into and an all round great shopping adventure. Thank you Knox for the pleasant afternoon
Charging the people who work for parking in a non secure car park that uses a system that doesn't work half the time. Wantirna mall, Burwood 1 and Bayswater can cover all shopping needs. All shiny and new yet no improvement, car park exits are atrocious.
We went to Knox to enjoy some sushi for dinner. The new food court is great & has many options to choose from. They are still in renovation stages but they have extra staff on to help with any confusion. Excited to see what it's like when it's completed.
This shopping centre has come a long way in the past few years. This was my original shopping centre when I was younger and couldn’t make it to Chadstone. They have recently updated the interior facade of the centre adding in greenery and
Greedy centre. Now charging for car parking. Don’t you make enough from your millions of dollars in rent revenue? Sure there’s 3 hours free parking but it just makes it inconvenient for customers who want to have dinner and a movie. There
Recently done renovations and removed the old food court, they added a new one, you can choose from every cuisine in Asia. Nothing else though. I see more sushi shops have sprung up, must be over 10 there now. Shopping there is also the
The shops r getting better closer to finishing BUT the car parking is a terrible pain. Went there Sunday of black Friday sale. Trieing to get out is impossible. U would THINKthey leave the gates UP ON big days like that BUT no they want
Finally got some decent shops in outside the mall entrance by ALDI looks great, but that said carpark 5 exit was designed and implemented by complete Muppets...it's so close to the traffic lights it causes absolute traffic chaos ...
Right now (August of 2023) Knox is under renovation so most of the open areas are boarded up into dark alleyways that smell of sawdust. In a few months time it'll be finished and be great... But for now go to Eastland if you can.
One of my favourite shopping centres. You’ll find almost everything here. Parking is never a problem. They also have the Village cinema and plenty of restaurants to choose from if you want to dine out with family and friends.
Nice shopping centre but I went there for dinner and the movies. The price of parking is far too expensive. Had to pay $16. We were there for two hours over the limit. I won’t be going there again. Eastland is much better.
Huge shopping area. Has shops in 1 area and entertainment areas with Urban Brewery and other drinking/ dining venues. Takeaway food shops. Cinemas. It has just about everything in this huge complex. Worth checking out.
Great to have the new area opened up. It's looking good. However, don't book your appointments together. I had a morning at Endota spa with the afternoon at the hair dressers for a me only day. Parking $30!!.
I don’t go here often in fact very rarely but when I do go it’s a great shopping center but you should have directions to the bus stops on the display as it makes it a hell of confusion anyway great shops.
Parking is rip off. I went to see movie at village cinema n got rip off with $12 parking fee for just around 4 hour. Wont go again there even its close to my home. Eastland is much reasonable parking fee
Went there on Sunday to watch a movie after 9 PM, got charged $8 for parking, and had to wait almost 30 minutes to pay. Good on you, management Please find another way to generate revenue. …
Westfield Knox have an awesome outdoor food area which has a really cool vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you are close to the area. The shopping centre itself is nothing special.
So many things to do and see at Knox. They have been renovating the whole place and even added kids playground and two new food courts. They also have 2 Free EV charge stations.
Recently refreshed looking much better than it used to. Larger range I'd Asian foods too, hopefully recent upgrades are a step in the right direction for this local.
Recently renovated. It has a good foodcourt, a good variety of shops. Coles, Woolworths and Aldi all in the one mall. Some good small playgrounds available for kids.
Knox Westfield shopping center has been redone with new live plants and added stores and amenities, making it more appealing and a one-stop shopping destination.
The parking cost is ridiculous at least keep it in line with local centres like Eastland. I stayed 5 hours and had to pay $16 i wont return again after this
For a person who finds shopping centres daunting, Knox City Shopping Centre was very easy to navigate. Very well laid out. Comfortable experience.
Better to install their app and register your Rego to have additional one hour parking. Parking charges starting at $12 after the 3rd hour.
Date and time of visit: 11 August 2023 Westfield Knox used to be a great shopping centre with entertainment strip. That
