Inexcusable conduct- My father- in-law was in the care of white dove, Ian was our contact and whilst brief and matter of fact without a hint of empathy, all details were taken. Yesterday I contacted Ian to request clothing to be sent down for him to be dressed in. I was informed that they would not be returning from Traralgon until after 3.30pm but after that would be fine. Unfortunately with a young family and a husband trying to tidy up his fathers affairs time got away from us and we did not get to call or delivery the suit. I rang the next morning to enquire about coming down only to be told that "we cremated him this morning" . When I conveyed my absolute shock, Ian told me that I was the one who didn't call yesterday so they dressed him in some clothes they had and sent him off. When I told him that this was unacceptable and why didn't he give me a call to let me know about the planned cremation time (it took them 12 days to send my grandma off for cremation) he replied "I am sick of you people, you pay for the essentials pack and want more" Unfortunately neither our or my father in laws financial situation allowed for a more opulent choice of package, however regardless I don't feel that there is any excuse for sending someones loved one off for cremation without a phone call to the family who had already had active communication about their intent to bring down clothing. PLEASE SHOP AROUND FOR OTHER OPTIONS OTHER THAN IAN AND WHITE DOVE. His conduct and the impact of this conduct cannot be undone.

The funeral director Ian, unprofessional, rude and completely void of empathy. My dad had been sick for a while and when we called White Dove to confirm/modify some things he said “no worries”, yet when the time came and dad passed he commented how dad had made a mess of things and induced more stress on us the grieving family. My partner had been trying his best to organise funeral details over the phone, doing as he was asked, as we were not in any shape to organise anything. Come the funeral day, Ian had mucked up communication with the church as we were told the mass started at 10.30, and the priest thought it started at 11. He then expected US, the family, to follow this up with the priest ON THE DAY, which was his job. We had been told by Ian that dad’s death certificate would take up to SIX weeks to come to us. We followed up with Births Deaths & Marriages only to find out it usually takes up to one to two weeks. It has been almost one month since dad has passed. We called ian about this and he came up with all sorts of excuses for this death certificate, then went on to blame my partner!!! For not following what he was told to do. This is YOUR job. We have never directed a funeral, we don’t know the correct times and processes, we are literally putting dad’s death in YOUR hands. Completely unprofessional conduct. You are providing a service for grieving families. The only reason I have put two stars is because dad looked amazing and the coffin looked amazing, and Sue was lovely.

Ian Gibson is the most rudest foul mouthed person to deal with. We are a Cemetery Trust that has to deal with his unprofessional behavior and his threats. Department of Health was contacted with how he treated the secretary. Seems to be worse when dealing with our female staff. He lost his temper because he couldn't find the location of cemetery and threaten to take deceased back home. How disgraceful and immature and heartbreaking for the family. (Their staff will deny of course) Seems to be no communication practises in their company. Lies seem to be commonplace. After seeing four corners I would not recommend this Funeral Director. Would you? ps. and funny.. how to pull up the rating with a couple of 5 star reviews from 2 people in a row with last name Gibson too.. could this be a coincidence you could be thinking...(daughter...maybe I've heard) that totally contradict everyone elses experiences. Possibly another lie?

Ian has done two funerals in the family, my father and my grandfather. He was very empathetic and kind, he was cheap which was perfect for us as we could not get sufficient money in the time of grief. I have recently seen Ian be attacked in the news for things that were out of his control, and as someone else said he did not write their family members life story, he does not know your family member and to expect that is rediculous. At our family members funerals, Ian read out a eulogy another family member had wrote, we also chose the songs as we knew them best and wrote what we wanted to be said not what someone else, who doesn't know them the way family does, would say. At the price Ian charges, he goes above and beyond. I would never want my children to pay for a fancy funeral organised/hosted by heartless millionaires living off the dead. I would want someone like Ian for my funeral.

Just watched four corners. Ian, you are a disgusting, pathetic man. The day your business closes is the day so many people celebrate. You are a horrible human being, so much so you don't even deserve to be called human. You forced a woman into a tiny casket and compared her to yourself. You are obese and fat, you wouldn't have even fit! You're a horrid person and you don't deserve to stay in business.

I just watched the Australian documentary on this sad excuse for a funeral home over here in the UK. This Gibson fella is diabolical & needs to realise that, we all have Karma and what goes around does come around. So Gibson will pay for his vile narcissistic deeds as will those who have helped him abuse those deceased loved ones in his funeral home.

just watched to doc... disgusting person.. especially this Ian guy saying that poor women fit in the coffin when she absolutely did not and "oh shes my size" Ian is a HUGE man and would NEVER fit in that coffin! I hope you get squeezed into something too small when your day comes mate.

The director Ian, has no respect for your deceased and will cram your loved ones into tiny coffins, snapping them around to make them fit. There is photo evidence and it's beyond disgustong and outrageous. DO NOT CONTACT THIS FUNERAL SERVICE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TRAUMATISED.

I wish you could give negative stars. He would be in the negative thousands!!!! Disgusting I would not even call him a person or a human. He certainly does not treat the unfortunate ones in his care as humans!!! Absolutely appalling. Shut him down!!!!

Excellent service and care . Attention to detail and being able to always deal with the same person made it more personal. Highly recommend this company. The price quoted was the same as the final cost. No hidden extras.

I would highly recommend using Ian and his team at White Dove Funeral care. The way they went about helping my family through our tough time is something I will remember forever. I cannot speak highly enough of them.
