This station is handicap accessible (elevators, escalators) from the entrance on Wilson, however, only the entrance on the south side of Wilson is accessable. The entrance a block south, on Sunnyside (by the Target) is handicap accessible, but involves a long, meandering ramp instead of an elevator or escalator. This stop services the red and purple line "L" trains only. The purple line DOES stop at this station. The 78 Montrose bus (both east and west) stops near, but not at, the Wilson exit. The 36 Broadway stops at the corner of Broadway and Wilson, half a block to the east.
Rebuilt station is beautiful and with the Sunnyside mini station with easy access to Target and Aldi. And it allows me to skip all the sketchiness on Broadway between Wilson and Montrose when I exit train there. Perfect. And it has been open for over a year and it's not falling apart like so many of the public works projects. I am in middle between Wilson and Sheridan and find my self changing my routine and getting the red at wison\sunnyside instead of Sheridan
Wilson is my favorite L station in the entire system. Opened in 2018, the station is sleek and modern, with wide platforms. It's one of the few stations where I actually look forward to waiting. This is the gold standard of L stations, and I hope that CTA continues to update the system's most archaic stations into works of art like this one is. The station is fully accessible and provides convenient connections to several bus routes.
It is bright new day at the Wilson Street Train Station. A brand new sparkling station with an elevator for people with special needs and an excellator that works in fine fashion. The place is well lit and has plenty of room to maneuver. The probability of being raped or killed is diminished significantly. The station is very close to HarriS. Truman College and a magnificent Target for family shopping. Attend!!!!!
Don't like it because, at rush hour purple line express isn't safe to ride any more. I always seen this person with a spider-man mask get on it all the time when I go to work, and he is very mean and disrespectful to me and everybody on this route, which is why I take red to brown now. I hate how they putted the purple line at Wilson why does it need to be there? WHY?!?
Wilson El station is night and day compared to when I lived in the neighborhood ten years ago. The new concrete platforms are great, having the additional Purple Line train stop here and having an elevator is fantastic. This area will continue to improve the infrastructure and many good things are still coming!
The new station looks great after its renovation. Its brightly lit with 3 new entrances, one on Sunnyside and the other two on Wilson. Its handicap accessible and has ramp, elevator, escalator and stair access to train platforms. Super clean and brightly lit.
Renovated station is amazing. I feel safe when I’m getting on or off trains. Neighborhood isn’t the best so pay attention when you leave the station (especially on the Wilson side). I get off on the Target side to avoid that.
The station is getting a huge face lift which will help this place out a lot. The area around the station is not bad as many here have reviewed it. I always feel safe and I lived in this area and it's really not bad at all.
First time I was at the Wilson el stop since the renovation (which was a few years ago). Was very pleased by all the natural light they were able to place in the design. And much, much much cleaner.
This a very convenient CTA Red Line stop. There is a Target, Harold's Chicken, Sonic, Truman College and More! This Station runs 24/7 along with the 81 Lawrence bus too!
This place used to be a dump but not anymore. They improved this stop so much it's amazing. Just be careful once you get out because it's not a nice neighborhood
The new station is bigger, brighter and cleaner than the ancient run down old one. Now it has two platforms, wider stairs, and is lit like an important station.
Wilson is a brand new stop in a recently revitalizing area. It’s super convenient and gets you everywhere on red and (rush) purple. GoCTA!
Beautifully intimidating and worthy renovation — big, open, functional and built to handle future crowds. Patiently waiting for Retail.
That’s where I catch the purple line train to Howard and it’s a beautiful train station in uptown Chicago! Love the place!
It's a beautiful station in a cool neighborhood but it can be scary at times and you have to watch your back at all times
Wow! Just wow! I just moved back to the city and this is now one of the most beautiful stops in the entire city.
Very scary, not their fault it's the neighborhood. Will be renovated soon, but very dirty and decrepit now
Clean, bright, and modern. I wish there were a few more benches but overall a very nice renovated station.
Here is Harry S Trman College. You can study ESL and GED (English or Spanish). Also many other careers.
The renovation looks great, it has escalators now and a new entrance by the Target, so much better
A new, bright station. It's too bad the platform gets used as a public restroom in several places.
Impressively renovated and modern CTA station. Is functional and aesthetically pleasing.
This station is off the charts of bad. Maybe if they renovate it I'll give it 5 stars.
This is a good L station. However, I wish it had an elevator.
Good transit hub, with easy access to Aldi and Target.
The best cta stop watch ur surroundings tho
good metro station. took the metro here
