The WW store in Sunshine is the only supermarket l've been to that has little regard for infection control. Shoppers wear masks to try and do the right thing and to protect themselves and you cannot on many occasions be bothered to have wet wipes in the dispenser for the trolleys or sanitiser in the automatic dispensers as you enter the store. Bottled hand sanitiser is not hygienic. And this is from a store who has had to close down for a deep clean cause of a staff member having Covid19. I spoke to two Managers about it on two separate occasions, though there has been no attempt for infection control at the entrance for many months. One staff member told me it was the Managers who were meant to replenish these infection control stations so why aren't they doing it? One shopper last night tried to sanitise his hands but nothing there calling it "pathetic" in exasperation. I told him this is normal for Sunshine. But pathetic is right, as is lazy, simple and risky. If l got Covid that was traced back to your store, l would most certainly sue you and you better be cashed up for the legal expenses to defend it and/or the compensation to pay for my pain and suffering and ongoing medical expenses and loss in wages, if l survive cause your policy may exclude Covid19 related claims. Visit Coles and see how the professionals do infection control cause you guys are hopeless. You're happy to sell hand sanitiser and wipes but too stingy to keep your dispensers full, not giving shoppers the opportunity to protect themselves. That's more than pathetic. Tell your Risk and OH&S Managers to lift their game or find other jobs cause at the moment, this is your biggest exposure and our defence will be that you did not take all reasonable cautionary steps to provide adequate infection control for shoppers in your store.

I'm a local & regular customer. My experience last night with a staff member and manager was appalling but I will still give a 5 star rating. I was about to purchase something that was marked down from say $11 to $6.. the price at self serve check out scanned at $11. This was for the correct item and the store policy is for the customer to receive the first item free when this occurs. Any further items are paid at the reduced price amount. Two staff members did not accept that this was their store policy and gave me grief for 5 minutes approximately. I didn't want the free item & was happy to donate money to woolworths. I was given a hard time while they were trying to convince me otherwise so I rang the same store today & another local store while I spoke to two managers, who both confirmed that it is correct and i should have received the item at no cost. I have been offered a voucher or store credit which i have refused but I accept the apology and kind gesture. Apparently those staff members will be informed of their store policy. Thank you, I will continue to shop here.

Not great for vegetarian and vegan options compared to other Woolworths locations (Docklands in particular). This location does not stock ~20-30% of Woolworths in-app specials. This means you cannot really rely on Woolworths advertisements at this location. The District Docklands location is the most in-line with the weekly Woolworths specials. If you are following the deals weekly, don’t bother coming here, go to District Docklands (the new North Melbourne location is similar to the Lygon location = relatively bare bones). Pay attention to the scales. One relatively small Fuji apple weighed 0.88kg on the scale I used for self checkout. They closed the register once I notified them but it goes to show that if you snooze, you lose, and they happily take your money.

Before you read the ratings i want to clear one thing up. I gave one star because the visit was during the day. The day staff are hopeless, arrangant, Ignorant to say the least. I went to the store wanting Safeway to arrange for a phone i purchased in April 2022, to be sent to be repaired under warranty. The store manager said to me "No, NOT my PROBLEM"!!! I had the original receipt but he would not have a bar of it , as far as he was concerned its "Tuff Love" not his problem. Optus told me to take it to the retailer who sold it to me as its an Optus handset. I'm yet to have this issue resolved. The night staff a Safeway Carlton, they are perfect i shop there at least 3 nights out of 7, ive never had an issue with any of the staff or security.

Issue is parking. $40 gets one hour free & $80 2 hr but have to scan barcode at bottom of Woolworths receipt. Last 3 times scanner not working on Woolworth docket. Does not accept Amex but not shown on screen. Only in fine print at bottom of what looks like a receipt. When u get to boom no open as not paid. Then require Re scan & payment. If cannot find docket & to let other cars out charges full amount. Security says he will fix but cannot & sends u back to original scanner machine where told need to send in a e mail complaint. Woolworths not able to provide e mail address which is not on the receipt. Very frustrating & it is time & poor service not the $ s that is the issue

I went to buy some groceries this morning. And I found that the blueberries price is different from the weekly report. It should be $3.50 instead of $4.00. I asked the self serve staff for assistance and she was very rude.. instead of assisting me, she argued back. She should not be in the service department.. she had been arguing with customers before.. a very bad service staff.. my friends, family and I were regular before but because of her, we don’t like to go there so often. We prefer to go to the Woolworths in QV.. the staffs are very helpful. The management should look into this situation, otherwise your business will be affected by her..

While traversing the south most plains of Australia, in a cove under what is clearly sacred ground for the local tribes, is a dark, unpleasant cavern that is a treasure trove of microwavable meals and all the stationary that is just not what you need. What makes it special is the shear size of them place which appears to have so so much loot yet whenever you get close the ancient magic curtaining this place drops away and ya end up going home with nothing great for dinner tonight... And feeling kinda grimmy..

  • Gaaxa

these premises are poorly managed, almost difficult to understand how such careless people are put in charge of the premises. I witnessed several times elderly and sick people coming out of the shopping mall, walking around for miles looking for toilet, when in fact toilets are suppose to remain open. this is something that security people in charge of the place must be questioned about, and educated as well, if they cannot understand what that means, they should be fired and replaced.

My buddy and I came to check out Moonlight at the Nova. Absolutely amazing flick, believe the hype my friend. Anyway my pal wanted 'something sweet, but not packed with sugar like coke'. So we slipped by the Woolies to see what was up with that. Bud got a berry flavoured Pump water. I don't mess around with that stuff personally, but apparently it hit the spot. So, one star for coming through with the bev, one star for proximity to a great film.

Unpleasant experience with an old female cashier with spectacle on standing in the customer service desk. She has such a bad attitude, throwing my item at me when the payment machine is not working and the reason was her inexperience in using digital device. This isn’t my first time experience this kind of service from them. So if you do shop here, just go to self check out. Face to face communication just doesn’t work in this store.

  • YKS

Terrible shopping experiences with this branch. FLIES in the mushrooms. No explanation, no solution whatsoever. Not replying complaints on food quality. Fruits are rotten and no one is able to deal with problems for the customers. Staffs trying to give away free bags and then charged us in the end. A scam you can call. One of the worst Woolies in Melbourne.

  • Z H C Kong

Loving the shopping experience & variety offered here. This outlet is located within walking distance to The University of Melbourne with ample parking available. The fact that Brunetti Classico Carlton, cinema, local pharmacy as well as Country Road fashion boutique are within the vicinity makes this WW my favourite grocery shopping centre at all times.

  • DAVE BEECHAM (Tiltrans)

Waited at service desk to ask if they has a phone charging cable. 2 people standing. Young man and a young woman. The bloke was serving the young lady walked past me about 5 times then walked off. After a bit she came back looked at me as if yeh I'll serve you. I ask about the cable I don't think so. I waisted all that time n she was very flippant.

  • elyane palmer

Was here buying 5 litres of Hydrochloric Acid and a copy of The Garfield Movie on DVD Blu-Ray, and the guy at the counter said to me "Bet you wish today wasn't Monday" I'd have told him to mind his own business, but his badge said 'ask me about the new Red Velvet Oreos' so I figured I should stay on topic. The Oreos get 2 stars.

  • Jemma Payne

Fantastic customer service, team members helped me find an item I had seen online and then actually opened a box on a pallet for me when it turned out it wasn't on the shelf yet. Also I used to go here all the time when I worked nearby, and staff have always been great. Store is clean and well-stocked.

  • Danny Lopez

Woothworths for as is the first store with professional ethics and selling the most fresh food and vegetables plus a variety of deodorants perfusion, shampoos and the most recently goodies of every department. I feel proud to have my store close to me and my family. Thank you woodworth and staff

  • Carla Taylor

Supermarkets this close to the cbd are seldom up there with their counterparts in the 'burbs but this one is awesome. Well laid out and accessible even with a car (mind you, the underground car park off Drummond Street can get hectic during movie sessions), and a good range of fresh food

  • Ivana Selvatino

Absolutely hate being served by a lady who everyone calls Maria. Inconsistent with her attitude towards customers-super friendly one day and cold and indifferent the next. I get the impression she hates her job. Might be time to pack your bags. The other staff are always very friendly.

  • Betty Gun

Just heard a supervisor shut down a young staff member for being proactive by asking if she would like him to help a customer. Two year olds shouldn’t be spoken to like she spoke to him, let alone staff. Makes me wonder what goes on when customers aren’t around. Get your act together.

  • Renee Mcminn

Best Woolies in central Melbourne! My local Woolies is always clean and staff are nice and friendly, products are generally well found and fresh fruit nd veg are near 100% ready to eat or last for a good amount of time before best before dates. Great customer service to add also!

  • Trent Cliffe

Great little supermarket. Parking is your problem here. Only a small amount of parks in the shopping centre car park and is super hard to find parking around the area. Keep that in mind when you come here and need to be a big shop. Besides that it’s a pretty lovely place to shop.

  • Janina Nowak

The other Woolies I visit for a change from the QV store. Located underneath Lygon Court on Lygon Street and accessed via the pedulator, opposite the Amcal Pharmacy. It has everything available. If you can't find an item, just ask the staff in their green uniform. Worth a visit.

  • D-App Muncher

The only supermarket close to parkville and melb uni. Enter from brunetti and walk across to pharmacy, you will find the as logo. Walk to lower level and there it is. Clean shop, shelves filled with stock. I like the deli and bakery there, there's bread always on the shelves.

  • DDD AAA

Ordered an online order last night for delivery at 4pm. First time it did not show up, customer service said the driver had “rejected the order”, second time it did not show up either. Do not order online, they will take your money and not deliver your groceries.

  • wendy lea

The whole process is easy and foolproof. The packaging of my order. Phone notification of when it is coming.. excellent delivery service people who are kind enough to carry it to the kitchen. I am a chronic asthmatic and senior. I very apprecitive. Wendy lea

  • elli bee

The produce section at this woolies is always being re stocked and has a nice selection of fresh produce, seafood deli etc is good too, however parking isn't too convenient here, I don't like paying for parking discounts only if large shop I believe.

  • Stephen Caithness

Just bought some fruit for my staff and unfortunately the strawberries and rock melon were rubbery. The watermelon is only average. Disappointing really as i have purchased from the store many times and the quality has been very good.

  • Kylie Travers

I used to come here all the time when I lived in Carlton. After a year away I popped in and staff recognised me! They are super friendly, helpful and always smiling. The store is clean, has everything you need and easy to navigate.

  • Michael McBride

If your hungry and want to save money but don't want to dine out then this is the place for you. Everything is there to satisfy your appetite. Eat to your heart's content whilst saving precious money for other important things.

  • Brad Kennedy

Just your average supermarket. I strongly suggested that they clean their baskets as they were absolutely filthy, and they seem to have them clean on a regular basis now. Maybe covid has had a positive effect. Lol.

  • Richard Stawell

One of the smaller stores with high volume sales. Stocks a great selection of groceries and fresh produce. Has great customer service but the car parking is shocking. Very little free parking if you can find it.

  • Malte Schoss

Always friendly and they provide hand sanitizer for everyone who comes in and goes out! Sometimes gluten free stuff is sold out, please have more in stock since I depend on it. Thanks for your hard work, guys!

  • Norman Chia

A good Woolies store with a surprising variety and amount of products. No sushi made on site, but fresh bread and a nice deli. Good bargains to be had and lots of self-serve kiosks. Mostly friendly staff.

  • Tim A

Pretty small selection and they routinely stop stocking good products. Was accosted by a security guard who demanded a receipt despite the fact no one takes receipts from self scans, it's a waste of paper

  • Don Rossco Joe

It's like full of all this stuff you can eat, but you'v gotta poop it out after your done with it, kinda reminds me of this other supermarket I was in, much less hassle than growing it yourself. Awesome!

  • Jake Peters

It's a supermarket. Um. It's, you know, OK? I guess. They sell food, which I like. And they give free fruit to children at the door, which my toddler likes. So yeah, it's pretty good. I guess.

  • Janette Smith

Fabulous friendly supermarket. Doesn't feel like one of the chains, more like a small country shop. Excellent response to managing unusual circumstances. Great to see the manager at the door.

  • bae328

Rude self service assistant telling me to be patient with a frozen register at 12:55pm on 16 November 2023. Walked out and left the goods on the register without paying. Learn some manners.

  • Anceef Azeez

Usual Woolworths. A bit smaller than the Woolworths qv. It is located inside the mall. Working time is till midnight but it's better to go early else most of the stocks will be gone.

  • Kristy Carbone

Not a lot of variety compared with most other Woolies stores, also the bakery is very light on products too, their bread variety is extensive but that's all it has to offer.

  • Sidney

I like this woolies as it tends to accommodate students. Also of easy foods seem to be on special a lot, they always have stationary and the later closing hours are great.

  • AKASH PANDEY

Really good .. During this Covid-19 situation also, they have maintained social distancing and taken care for sanitization .. thus making it easier for shopping for us.

  • mahalakshmi janani

Our day to day place. My little one is fond of shopping and keeps running through out the shopping. Staffs are super friendly and often we can see reduction in prices.

  • Lisah Pigdon jiggens (Gammagal)

It's my least favourite. I just despise punch ups and bad security. Oh well. I suppose I could pretend to be an angel walking around to happy it up..err..perhaps!!

  • ABBY ONEPIECE

The old lady with a short hair at the self checkout, she is a STAR! She's so lovely! Sorry I didn't know her name... But thank you, you made my day all the time.

  • Ralph (Ralphy)

Woolworths is a place for everyone to get their grocery needs where the service and staff are great, however they tend to run out of stock quite frequently.

  • Xiong Lin

Great and friendly staff well managed store but their self checkout machines seem to have issue with sensing bags from time to time which is annoying

  • Brett Hutton

They have the general stock of a supermarket. However, lack some stock found at QV Woolworths, such as TV dinners (bangers and mash, Woolworths etc).

  • Chris Maclachlan

Can have long lines. Convenient though. Parking's weird (spend $25 and show receipt or it isn't free). Wish they'd have more staffed checkouts open.

  • B Low

Good location, friendly staff, quality products and opening hours are very late, up to 11pm. Will recommend those that want a late night spree

  • R W

The cashier asked me if I wanted a carry bag. I said no thanks, we haggled over the price. She became confused and tried to sleep with me.

  • Annie Mag

Open late and in a convenient location. Prices are so high though, but that’s not the fault of this Woolies in particular.

  • Arkham Skunk

Know their regular customers, always feel welcome, strangely small shop values in a large inner city supermarket.

  • Izzy

With a small footprint, it has everything you'd ever need. Wish it had a bakery with it's own baked fresh bread.

  • Mohammad Amer

Very conveniently located and surprisingly well stocked for a relatively small branch. Friendly staff.

  • Jaja Lorenzo

There is a wide selection of groceries to choose from. Take advantage of the items on sale.

  • Milan Jako

Very friendly and helpful staff. I’m glad they’re open later than other Woolworths stores.

  • Nicole Widjaja

This particular Woolies store makes the best choc chip croissant out of all i’ve tried.

  • David Jenkins

i think Kerry is the only reason I come to this store. what an absolute gem she is

  • Jon Chng

Good location and have my coffee and so handy for shopping over Lygon Street.

  • Roberto Traficante

All your household needs under the one roof! Ample car parking underground.
