7am and the service counter is very quiet, Assistant is waiting to serve someone. I take this opportunity to pay with the coins that have been building up in my car. I had 3 items, bread milk and butter, $8:50 worth. The service lady and I are busy counting out coins when the manager comes up and interrupts us, 'you can only pay with a maximum $5 of coins'. The service assistant had to follow the managers requests as I can understand. There was still nobody waiting in line, so I told the service assistant that I will just have to pay in 2 transactions. The manager was furious at that and said 'why don't you go and use the self check out'. I remained quiet and ignored her. The reason I use thehuman service lane is the keep humans in work, not machines. Very rude and inconsiderate manager.

The staff here are just fantastic. I've been going here for years and I don't have one complaint about the service or people, best I've come across. I do have a few bug bears with how many product lines have been deleted and variety in the isles severely reduced. Also the isles no longer accommodate the trolley's and cages staff need to use as personal pick pack for online shoppers therefore depending on the time of day it can be incredibly congested waiting to get around these obstructions. This is by no means anything to do with the workers and if anything it's harder for them to do their work with the customer congestion! Still this said ill continue to shop here for the service and convenience.

I much prefer Coles over Woolworths in general, but that aside this store is the closest supermarket to me. Despite this, I will still avoid going here unless implicitly required, mostly for reasons regarding the entire facility. I can't count how many times this store has reorganised its floor plan/isles which makes finding "a few items" (such is the only kind of shopping I perform here) very difficult and historically in some cases senseless. This store it also either very busy, or regularly under-staffed, as I've never had a fast checkout process. I've always had to queue, whether I have 1 item or a while trolley, at both staffed and self-serve registers.

Oi! I live here... I know, it's Carrum Downs, it has a reputation of hoons and Deadbeats but it ain't all that bad! This Woolies generally does it right. They'll sometimes announce free food giveaways as well as an offering of free fruit for the kiddies, as you walk in, to encourage them away from the sugary plastic wrapped rubbish that so often fills their stomach and causes meltdowns in the aisles.. So the management is doing something right. Plenty of healthy options for you health nuts as well. A better than average woollies. I would come here again, you know.. cos I live here... Plus, the locals call it 'the rainbow.' Don't know why but there you go!

Could someone please constructively get it through to the supervisors/shelf fillers/night packers. Biscuits in the biscuit isle DONT survive as well as potato chips and nuts etc. Those biscuits got made by workers (yes and machines) packaged, transported palletised most likely to the supermarket in fine condition, only for you to constantly (I’ve watched you numerous times), throw complete bulk boxes down at the floor. I know the old tale of broken biscuits don’t count, but if you keep breaking them all (which we pay for with our hard earned money by the way) the supermarket may just decide that you dont count either…

We'd both like to thank your manager & staff for your friendly service we received today and are very very satisfied customers, thank you to everyone involved for your great customer service, CONGRATULATIONS Safeway Carrum Downs CHEERS to you all we highly recommend others to shop at your store again thank you.

Only person waiting at the Deli. Took a ticket anyway. Four people working in the deli. Two who could not see me and two that could. The two males that could see me chose to ignore me and pretend that they did not see me. Eventually one of the staff members who couldn’t see me in the beginning eventually move and saw me and came straight to me to see what I was after, but the two males still continued to ignore me. Very disappointed. Only gave a one star rating due to the fact the female staff member came over as soon as she saw me. Male staff get a zero star rating

I have had bad experiences shopping at this Carrum Downs store. It was convenient to shop at this Woolworths because it's close to where I live. Having difficulty in paying for my groceries at the checkout was the final straw. I had no support offered from management. I was wanting to pay using Zip Pay. The service is available in store but something was not working. And line behind me waiting to checkout was growing. And getting inpatient. I had no choice but to unload my shopping onto a vacant counter still in their bags and exit the store without any food.

  • Trent Katelas

Shelves empty all the time unless it involves the more expensive items. Majority of staff are very rude don't know how to say hi to customers snatch baskets away from u. I have had one lovely lady with great service but tgats the onl h one. Placed a complaint and instead of aplogiesing say sorry your dissatisfied with the price of the item. Hello that wasn't the complaint. It was tgat you never keep ur shrlves stocks unless it's these prime products. No reponse to customer service. Stay away.

  • roswitha dinter

Waiting in the express lane 15 items or less, for about two minutes, guy in front of me with a trolley more than 15 items, was been served, all of a sudden without any explanation the service attendance puts up her sign that the lane was closed. I think that it was very rude of the attendance, who was still very much engaged in talking to the male customer, not customer service. You have lost me now for good. Won't be coming back, l rather go out of my way spend more money somewhere else.

  • dani M

As an ex employee of woolies we have always been encouraged when self serve has line of 20 plus people to grab customers with no poduce or simple quick items and serve them at the customer service desk. Today I wanted to purchase bottle of water and cigarettes and the woman in the white shirt would not serve me because I was purchasing bottle of water. She said I had to go through self serve and line up again for cigarettes. Very poor management!!

  • Mark Sharrock

Got home to find id been charged for a $40 frypan from the last person who went through checkout before me.tried calling store 3 times,no response. Went on their automated system and still no help.if the store owner reads this please contact me as this and numerous other poor efforts have happened at your store.guess ill be more vigilant when at the checkout from now on.update is we got back our $40 after reviewing footage.

  • m P

This store is terrible! They are always out of stock of products or removing brands that we buy every week from sale. They are also always shifting the location of stock around so you have to search the entire store for what you are looking for. My other problem is how expensive this store is. I've begun shopping closer to my work in a different suburb and have found my grocery bills to be significantly cheaper.

  • Jennifer Jäger

I use to work in a supermarket many many years ago, and I must say with someone having a bit of ocd, the amount of satisfaction I got walking in this morning seeing all the stock lined up perfectly like with a ruler, was soooo good, and everyone working so hard, register ladies so happy and friendly, not always what you get at most stores for 7.30am on a Saturday morning! Good job locals ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Britches an Stitches

Since i last did my review i have vecome very disappointed withi this safeway being such a central place you would think they would stock there freezers better with vegetable an yhere shelves sometime's have run out of stock as well an they have reduced there cash registers down from 6 two 3 when busy it is hard to get around the front ofvyhe shop an you need to wait quiet a while. So it's disappointing.

  • Miss B

It’s just on 6pm on a Thursday night it’s 26 Degrees and you have no chickens left and none on… pretty poor you’d of thought seeing them low before this time you’d cook additional on days like today They were already cleaning the ovens so prior to 6 pm several of us were asking about them I’m sure it’s a call someone needs to make but on hot days I’m sure they sell through Something to consider ?

  • Laura Faram

Absolutely love this store. Love the staff, love the organization of the store and think the quiet hour on a Tuesday morning is a fantastic idea as my daughter struggles with high sensory situations. This has been a blessing as this hour has made shopping less stressful for her and myself. Thankyou to a wonderful team and store. Highly recommend shopping here.

  • Sharon Miller

It is layed out well and most staff are really nice. I did ask if I could go through the self check outs with a trolley, was told yes no problems but the staff at the self checkouts complained because I had a trolley and ordered me to go to the end complaining about the trolley. I feel they should All be consistant, it's not like i did not ask first.

  • Clint Finch

It's a woolies supermarket, it's a pretty big one and has an ok layout similar to all the rest. Carpark has just been resurfaced and best to park down the end furthest from McDonalds if you don't want to walk far. Both the store and car park really busy at the weekends and the shopping centre toilets are too nice so avoid them if you can.

  • Robyn slater

Where do I start I get direct to the boot I’m getting a little sick of what I get if I ask for eat later bananas that’s what I need pretty disappointed every order has something wrong or missing I usually go to Seaford ( where I work ) but this time thought I’d go cd no more if they continue to make mistakes very disappointing

  • Raven Claw

The place has just about everything we need. Staff are helpful. But it gets frustrating when they have moldy berries (whether it be purchased online or in-store), I've only ever had but 1 full punnet of good berries, the rest always end-up in the bin. Perhaps really open those punnets before placing them on the shelves.

  • Avinesh Chand

Such a convenient place for shopping, lovely and friendly staff,Store manager Dale, he is such a helpful n humble person who care about everyone, Recently we lost everything in house fire caused by lightning, we were given full groceries by Store manager .Thank you Woolworths carrum downs and Mr Dale.God bless you all.

  • Stuart Broadbent

The staff are great. But could someone tell the shelf fillers that are now during the day blocking the shoppers and not at night like they used to be, that you put the closest date at the front and the longest date at the back. I don't know how many times I see this in this store, it bewilders me.

  • Jas L

I’ve been using the direct to boot shopping service since November last year and it is absolutely fantastic! Everything has always been correct and if they are out of stock they will substitute the item. In terms of the store itself it’s always stocked really well and has good clearance prices.

  • James Christiansz

Pushing a self service model that doesn't work for large shops. Newly renovated and nice inside. Checkout ruins the experience. Head office is out of touch with the local market. Self service is not suitable for huge family shops. 15 minute waste of time queues here. Faster service at Aldi

  • Tony .W

In a rather big center, it is woolies, staff are friendly, finish shopping and go for a walk around the center, plenty to see and buy, really great bakery on the other end of the center, opposite the post office, roast pork rolls with salad, they are to die for, very yum and fresh.

  • Lana miller

I was at the 15 item checkout 3rd August 2019 around 4ish the last was using her phone texting while customers was waiting I hope she wasnt getting peoples credit card details.. I didnt trust her at all so I gave cash instead.. They should not be using their phone while serving

  • Tracey Murray

The lady or should u say non human behind the device counter... Should retire as she is very very rude... I am never shopping at Safeway Carrum downs again. I have never been called a DOG before.... I love the Animals called dogs But her behaviour was Not happy Jan....

  • Joan English

twice recently, was able to have a home delivery. both times spot on time, messaged to tell me it was on its way, turned up and placed on step with politeness and care. Well done and thank you, a frdge full and plenty of fresh fruit and vegies. I'm a happy person today!

  • Kris Walter

Not a bad store overall, decent size, parking was ok, staff were nice enough whenever i spoke to any of them. They had everything i needed, variety in some areas was lacking a little but the things they did stock had full shelves. Produce was also pretty fresh imo.

  • Gabrielle Crosling

Wanted to give a shout out for a young lass, Laura, who was working this afternoon in the auto checkout area. She was a real delight, with a great smile, couldn't do enough to help me - and then gave me a chocolate! (Well, it's Mother's Day tomorrow)

  • Jimmy Dinan

Butcher's customer service is hopeless. waiting 5 minutes and a guy walks up and grabs a ticket as someone comes out and they service him first, no need for a ticket when no one was around Disgusting service I'm shopping at Coles and aldi from now on

  • Carole Simms

Love this shop although it's not my usual place. The shop is always clean and tidy and the staff - when you can find them - very helpful. Not happy about this company sacking people and making all customers do their own scanning and packing etc

  • Kayla Colvin

WOW! This woolies is so neat and tidy! All shelves stocked up with every product facing forward and looks amazing!!! Happy to shop here everyday! Absolutely lovely happy smiling staff! I even spoke to the manager and gave him my good feedback!

  • Jarod

Woolworths and BWS have now separated, yet the opening in store remains open. You use to be able to buy soft drinks from inside Woolworths and pay in BWS with your purchase there but no more. No signs, nothing to stop you. Shut the opening!

  • Alison Bicker

every single time out of the 4 times i’ve ordered direct to boot here have they just forgotten items and marked them as supplied. 1 order they literally forgot half my order i called they told me to take it up with woolworths online which

  • Crystal T

Its my local woolies store that always has fresh fruit and veggies. Sam at the front desk is a lovely lady who always greets you with a smile and if you catch her on a seasonal day she might even be dressed up as a rabbit or an elf!!

  • Heise

This Woolworths is SOOOOO LOVELY there was this one boy not too sure of his name but he looked as if he was Pakistani of origin and his 'service' was INCREDIBLE!!! And the 'produce' was even tastier ehe nya. HEISE OUT!!!!!!!!

  • Steve Fairley

Hate the stock on the floor at the end of the isle that's wider than the isle itself. Too crowded. Also too crowded when everyone has trolleys in self serve. Checkout people can't pack bags well and choose to fill half way

  • Eva

This store has everything you need - it’s fully stocked most of the time, the food is good quality, there is always great clearances and the staff are nice! They always deal well with the rush hour buying of customers too.

  • Zoe Belford

Had a great interaction with an awesome staff member named Jabar! Smiled, waved and interacted with my daughter as well as showing us where to find a piece of fruit for her. What an awesome staff member, you rock Jabar!!!

  • Angela Jurisic

Just did a click and collect. Every time I do one from Carrum Downs it’s wrong or missing items. They gave me 2 bunches of celery and I asked for a leek??? Will be going back to coles as they seem to take more care

  • Karla Kadjakoro

Woolworths has everything I need. I came here to get baby spoons as I couldn't find them ANYWHERE else! I got what I was looking for, and ended up with a lot more! Looking forward to going back there very soon!

  • Victor Vulic

Allways two customers service talk while stand 10min waitg. And self serve 8 out 10 keycard only 2 out of 10 self serve . Why can't all machines take both pick only cards work silly slows line q down heaps

  • Jarrod Willis

staff members Xander, Scott, sahil and kai all have served me over the past month and are absolutely lovely and kind to everyone they come across. really do deserve a raise. best woolies in Australia

  • Xcyte Earphones

How hard is it take rubbish out of shopping trolleys before having them available to use? Need to find a better way with personal shoppers...I counted 7 in the fruit and vegetable section at once.

  • Ron B

Generally tidy store. Meat, produce, deli, & bakery are up to standard. Often find half or empty shelves across the other areas though. Carrum Downs has the cleanest baskets/trolleys I've seen.

  • Josue Mercado

Shop closing at 10pm and i have 2 minutes to get eggs but the security man is very rude, pushing us out of the store without even saying please. Never go back to safeway carrumdown. No manners

  • Bryanna Scanlon

This is by far the best Woolies ! The shelves are fully stocked and beautiful displayed, so best and tidy! I feel like I’m on a movie set, and just stare down the aisles admiring them haha

  • Guia Howard

WOOLWORTHS CARRUM DOWNS FOR ME IS THE BEST!!! I GET LOADS OF GROCERIES ON SPECIAL. IT'S ALWAYS ENJOYABLE SHOPPING AT WOOLWORTHS CARRUM DOWNS. I RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE!!+♥️ …

  • susan taylor

Concerned that those of us who have not stock piled toilet paper are going to find it difficult to buy any. I am running short and the greedy have cleaned out. 4 is way too many at once.

  • Miranda Ranking

Well stocked. Standard prices, clean, good range of products, fresh produce and good discounts on reduced to clear items which are easier to.find at this store than others I've been to

  • Sajeesh Kumar

It's a huge supermarket in carrom downs. Aisles are pretty big and spacious to move around the trollies. Everyday products are largely available and with lot of different brands.

  • Mick Morgan

Not the greatest of stores. Finding that stock doesn't get replenished too often. The staff walking around doing online orders are extremely rude and ignorant of other shoppers.

  • Russ “Russ T” Smith

A largish Woolies with a really good range. Recently added extra self serve registers if you like them. Recently underwent major renovation inside so the store looks fresh.

  • Daisy

This is the second time I've done a full shop here after switching from Coles. Staff are lovely and prices are reasonable. Much better Gluten free range than 10 years ago.

  • Kathy Ballard

This was just a quick visit to get a bottle of coffee. Store layout was clean and tidy with good aisle signage throughout. Did notice quite a few self serves not working.

  • Sally Brudenell

Visited shopping centre mainly to go to the library. Afterwards bought some fresh fish & other items fro Woolworths. Rather long wait at check out, but service was good.

  • Emma Bonuda

Just went into carrum down woolworths and the organisation of this store is AMAZING. everything is perfectly stacked / straight. well done, very satisfying!

  • Linda Morgan

The store was OK but found the staff a bit not rude but not interested in what you are asking them. It was a case of find it myself. Maybe having a bad day.

  • Mumbly Juergens

Good for non perishables, the tomatoes in the veggie section actually smelt bad recently, and the pasta salad in the new deli looks like it is going hard.

  • Ella Burkett

I do particularly like this Woolies. It's well set out so stuff is easy to find, but parking is lot a little rough. There's not many trolley bays either.

  • Christos

It's a typical supermarket. They change there stock around to much, I found the fruit is seldom fresh, and meat sub pat, but there prices always increase

  • Alex Dalton (Music)

Since the refurb it has a lot on offer. Particularly in the deli section. Prices are generally still higher than you’ll find at other supermarkets though

  • Kylie MacDonald

Great selection, good sized store, good layout and easy to see all items. Most registers are open. Deli staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.

  • Robert B.

This is the best Woolworths I have ever shopped in. The staff are super warm, friendly, courteous and most helpful. I love shopping here. Thank you.

  • bundyhaven1

Was amazed by how good this supermarket looked on Dec 27, beautifully faced aisles that made me stop & admire. Well done Woolies Carrum Downs …

  • Paul Pavlinovich

Fully stocked. People seemed to mostly be civil and maintain distances. Good range of stuff to choose from. Well laid out and easy to find stuff.

  • Tracey Williams

Staff and all produce is great, but the carpark is a disaster and peeps towbar you with abandon, cost me a small fortune having my bumper fixed

  • Marc Wilkinson

When you see their line of customers returning fresh veg... they got home delivered and its not something Id give to a pig... Go to markets.

  • James “Jim” Kershaw

Its such a clean store with lot of stock, they are also getting better at opening more registers when needed so I applaud them for that.

  • Martine Savannah

I only go if l need essentials I find the outside appearance is dirty. Trolleys don't fit in the Trolley bay. I prefer to go elsewhere

  • CH MW

Friendly staff and some of the cleanest aisles of any supermarket. Shelves always seem to be stocked unlike other local supermarkets.

  • alex krycek

Staff reprinted receipt to catch me "stealing". I get this sort of treatment EVERY TIME I shop here. It's starting to get to me.

  • Marita Atkins

Helpful staff but a bit lacking in gluten free options. Had to make a trip to Coles for Xanthan gum to bake my own spelt bread.

  • Prince Rika

This is my local supermarket in Carrum Downs, helpful and friendly staff.Great set out of the shop, products easy to fine.

  • Jarred Kahl

Still the bloody same.. people that don't know how to drive. Also dregs of society at night time. It's a great time

  • Ben Thebassman

Great meat and chicken. But people are pushed in & out like a heard of cattle ... fruit is allways more expensive.

  • Linda Ward

Social distancing in store has vanished. Customers seem to have no regard for personal space, including staff.

  • Abi Gibson

Your worker Emily is a great worker. Very happy and bubbly with the customers. A real asset to your company.

  • peter dopper

The store was clean and easy to walk around. The service was great and the staff were helpful …

It's Woolworths, they keep moving the product around and never have enough check outs open.
