NEWLY OPENED WOOLWORTHS SUPERMARKET IN NORTH MELBOURNE Update on 13 April 2019 This Woollies has now been open for over a month and it is still fairly quiet on Saturday mornings which makes it my go-to supermarket :) no parking problems (2 hours free under the store) and no long queues for checkout. It still has some issues with old stock however. I struggled to find a punnet of blackberries that were not mouldy (see pics) and chicken pieces that had more than 2 days before expiry. I'm hoping that this is a consequence of the currently low patronage and that stock will turnover more quickly in future.. but meantime, check use-by dates and fresh produce carefully. Staff remain super friendly and oh-so-careful with your grocery packing. Original post: March 2019 This Woollies has only been open for a few weeks and is still relatively quiet (this may change quickly!). It has good range of produce and an attached liquor store (BWS). For fresh fruit and vegetables it doesn't compare well with my "other" local Woollies in South Melbourne. At that store the produce is fresher (probably so it can compete with the adjacent South Melbourne Market). I had to rummage through the packets of blueberries to find one that didn't have mouldy berries :( Non-perishables are of course on a par with other outlets. There is a specialist butchery within the store with a good range of higher quality meats. The store has an underground carpark with free 2 hour parking using number plate recognition software rather than the old fashioned "paper tickets at the boomgate". You will need a gold coin to unlock a shopping trolley. Two types - the more traditional deep basket trolleys and the newer shallow basket trolleys for lighter shops. You can only return your trolley to a bay with the same trolley type. On my visit all the bays had the opposite type so I had to "donate" my $2 coin to the trolley collector (not necessarily a bad thing). People with mobility issues will be fine as it is a new complex with escalators and some wide parking bays for people with wheelchairs. Lots of self serve checkouts for those in a hurry and wanting only a few items. Open 7 am - 11 pm and has a pickup facility if you'd ordered online and want to collect your shopping rather than have it delivered.

Woolworths us Woolworths, probably more cultural food varieties... Generally a friendly bunch, except when your personal space and belongings are open for violation, with accusations of theft, some people would say that there's something to hide if not opened, where alot would agree that we shouldn't have to open our handbag if we choose not too, I have stood my ground for years on the matter, as I've been approached once before and instantly accused of theft when the security guard looked in my bag, spotting item he was convinced I took and me not have the receipt, than demanding he escorted me to the back room, for interviewing, after calling the police, humiliating me and pointing the finger at me, and me standing my ground making them follow up with the 3 other shops I said I'd been too,, 4 and a half hours later, they are the ones who felt stupid, apologising to me like crazy. Well not good enough, it took me years to convince people who witnessed me get accused, that it wasn't true, bloody humiliating. So yeah I will never do that again, but yet again I haven't since anyway but I still will always refuse to open my personal place where generally a woman's absolute personal and private property reside. Unless it is well and truelly proven prior to approached, thankyou very much to the old middle eastern man who was somewhat polite for a secret shopper, no disrespect to you all, we both had our views..

If I could leave a zero I would the number of times I have been there and the self service machines do not work is beyond a joke last time I had to scan all my shopping three times before they offered to do it through the normal checkout or the new QR codes do not scan properly or a lot of times the product has expired or cannot be sold. Not to mention the staff who either seem more interested in talking to each other or being on their mobile phones rather than offering assistance Last time I went the guy in the self checkout area was sitting on one of the checkouts looking at his mobile phone! Tonight when I went a guy had a dog in the supermarket with him and no one said anything it was not a guide dog I thought that was against food safety regulations. Don't waste your time shopping here

We'd been in this neighborhood before and didn't know about this shopping centre on Canning Street with its Woolworths but needed to drop in and I'm glad we did: ✅ As well as the usual grocery lines, it has a great bakery which was just what we needed. ✅ Amazingly clean and well lit. ✅ Cheerful, super friendly and helpful staff. both on the floor and at checkout. ✅ Great underground two-hours free car parking. ✅ Very impressive, highly recommended.

Woolworths prices seem to change arbitrarily, as if the store's management were being manipulated by the police. I would urge the management to continue to comply with any "Police" requests, if only to entrap them with "Perverting the course of justice", "Intimidation", "obtaining finances by deception" Control through deception does not work, and I hope the police have learned their lesson.

The customer services was bad. I came to buy item that advertised as in stock on web. There is no stock available and when I asked the staff they said it is in the bottom of the pallets. I thought it was unfortunate for me, but the other people asking different item also got same reply. Good to have staff remember precise layout of your warehouse.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE: Called customer services via the given phone number from their page, sought confirmation about a PILLOW which was showing in stock in their branch. The dumb guy did not even search in the database and straight away said ohh, we don't the item, the website is wrong. 10 minutes later I went to the shop and bought the pillows.

This is my closest supermarket and it’s hit and miss stock wise. Shelves are constantly half empty and untidy. Stock in the wrong place, fruit and veg section often barren. The trolley bay is full of rubbish, the staff aren’t helpful and there’s never a checkout open during week! The management need to lift their game!

If you're of short stature, make sure to bring a tall person with you. They stack the baskets as tall as myself (>180cm). I've seen older ladies needing to ask strangers for help getting a basket. I don't understand why they can't at least leave one stack low enough for shorter people to reach comfortably.

Great customer service. Convenient. Though out the front entrance there was blood all over the pavement and some on the automatic sliding doors. Don't know what happened but it was a little concerning. Just moved here might not go here when it's late/dark. Otherwise great first visit

Staff don't care for customers and they don't care if you cant access the groceries you want while they use that area as a bin instead. Staff constantly congregate together in big groups crowding iles making it difficult for customers to get their groceries as safely as possible.

It's a good Woolworths with everything you might need. It's bigger than I would expect in a small-ish building footprint size. Parking in the deck below is very convenient, there is ample free parking time (2hr) so you don't have to worry. The entrance is off Macaulay Road.

  • Thomas Liontis

This Woolworths is a little different compared to most other stores as it has an entrance in a building complex along with a few other shops as well. It's pretty much the same as most others inside. You need to take an escalator to reach the car park.

Worst supervisor ever, I went to get gourmet cards, and the staff asked a supervisor for help as I was buying $500, the supervisor was an Asian young female and said cannot sell. If they cannot sell the cards why are they advertising it ?

Nicely setup (logical) with a fresh sushi chef on-site great deli, bakery and great selection of vegetarian and vegan options. Very clean and friendly staff, with large self checkout area, ample parking underneath and easy access for all

I gone to buy a slab of Frantelle drinking water. The displayed stocks ran out although online mentioned it was there. Their staff names Huy are so helpful and gone in the store and got it for me although he was busy. Good service!

  • Mad Man

Thalia is the rudest person I have ever had serve me ever. Not just me either, everyone she served ahead of me she gave attitude to. If she hates customers so much maybe she shouldn't be in customer service? Terrible experience!!

  • Prateek Mehra

This is a nice clean store in the area with its own bakery, butcher and a sushi outlet, along with a rotisserie for hot roast chicken. I found the staff always courteous and helpful with any requests.

  • Ashu Jayswal

Very bad customer service always wait minimum 30-45 minutes for pickup the online order rather than better to go and purchase the stuff by yourself it’s took less time than the waiting time.

  • Sam Seng

Descent size store with suitable stock of items for the surrounding neighbourhood. Come earlier in the morning to avid getting disappointed with the empty shelves.

  • Amanda Brooks

It's a very good Shop except for the one worker she is VERY RUDE she's like ok and? So what do I look like I care and she is never happy not even kid to the kids!

Is really good. I love that it has covered parking and free parking for two hours. going to the market is the best thing to do there because it is so easy.

  • Mic Storrees

Horrid security. Watched a young girl worker get harassed by some drunk guy in the checkout. No security around to help.
