When visiting the St. Anthony river front area, take the short stroll to Xcel's Energy Water Power Park. You will find plenty of park benches to soak in the sights of the Minneapolis sky line and the sounds of the Mississippi river flowing over the St. Anthony Falls. When visiting, I often find having the scenic overlook to myself right at upper pool of the falls. Visit when the river is at a high rate of flow. The sound of the water is claiming.
I used to spend a lot of time here when I would hang around Minneapolis. This is a great spot to get a pretty impressive view of the city right across the river while overlooking the dam. There are usually people walking, biking, or fishing around the park. When I would be around that area it seemed to be a pretty popular area to hang out and enjoy some of the things the area has to offer.
I feel like more often than not this spot has been closed when we have been in the area. However, when they set it up for stone arch bridge festival or it is open for a nice stroll after brunch that it is great
Historical site where the Minneapolis General Electric Company Main Street Station which operated at this location between 1894 and 1911. It was the country's first central hydroelectric plant.

Great perspectives on the river, bridges and the southern shores. Not a lot to do besides look, and the dam/falls make a lot of noise. But definitely worth a visit.
This park is in such a wonderful part of the city. Any view of downtown is postcard worthy. No wonder the best images of Minneapolis are shot from this area.
The best piece of infrastructure in the Twin Cities. However there's no reason or excuse to close this place in winter. It's unacceptable.
Love the scenic area in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. Note, it's not always open so enjoy it when you can. Closed during the winter.
Nice scenery. One can see the old Pillsbury flour mill as well as take several small wooded walking trails. Parking can be limited.
We are so lucky to have great scenic parks in the city. Love to walk through the park after morning yoga at the farmers market.
what a great park to chill and enjoy the beautiful city skyline. I also really enjoy the mini history lesson.
Can't get any closer to the falls! Great vantage point of both East and West banks.
Currently closed. We tried to visit on 6/3. Otherwise we always love it!
Fun walk. Went at night. So cool to see the power electric dam
The downtown skyline at night is picture perfect.
