(I have been staying in a 6 star venue for a week and not one person has mention my hair or denied me entry into their venues) still waiting on a refund for my $120 tickets.

Worst experience ever! Legit paid $40 dollars for a tickets tonight but was kicked out within the first 30min of entering. Purchased only two drinks, one for myself and a friend, but when I openly complemented a random Asian women with black hair who had arm tattoos I was immediately kicked out. As it turns out she worked there and and assumed since i complemented her loudly (due to the music being so very loud) I was clearly intoxicated. I myself have worked as a bartender and know when to identify someone as being overly intoxicated and someone just being friendly. As soon as she told me to leave I agreed as I didn’t want to make a scene but then she proceeded to ban my friend as well! She was utterly unprofessional and needs to learn the difference between people just being nice and being drunk! Rest of the staff was amazingly professional and polite, even the security guards who walked us out said he didn’t think we were intoxicated. Truly expected better, and 1000% think whoever that women is needs to be educated or the very least learn how to react to a compliment.

After numerous occasions visiting the ivy, it seems fitting to provide a summary review. I have enjoyed visiting the ivy pool bar for a work event during the day, and also for drinks and pizza in the evenings The concept of the pool bar is unique and attractive, and a great place to bring friends visiting from interstate! There is often DJs and great mood lighting. The vibe is very different night to night depending on the crowd, however. The ideal seats are usually booked, but there are packages you can reserve for a special occasion. We enquired for a hens but didn’t find it an inviting offer for a smaller group. Also worth noting that the dance floor has deteriorated in quality of music and energy post-pandemic, so wouldn’t recommend coming unless you have a large group to start the dance floor with you! On the whole though, ivy is always nice for a drink, but not my preference for dancing
The prices here can be a bit misleading. What you see on the screens or menus isn't the final price they charge you. They'll put on some extra fees under the name of "tax" or something. And get this, your house drink in a disposable plastic cup will set you back a whopping $15! Oh, and don't even get me started on the dress code. You could be dancing right next to some dude in shorts, no tshirt, and smelling like onions mixed with Dior Savage. You know those security folks at the entrance? They act like they're guarding the Ukraine/Russia border or something. And as for the staff, let's just say hospitality isn't their strongest skill. Smiles? Yeah, they went out of style around 1985. Seriously, the only people who seem to love this venue are the ones who haven't traveled abroad or experienced better spots.

The WORST experience ever!!! We were never so mistreated anywhere around the world, like we were by the entrance staff of Ivy! There was no queue, and right upon arrival we got literally YELLED ON to show our ID’s and lose hats, which we did immediately, completely sober and calm and asked to be treated politely. That obviously turned them on even more, and they started threaten us not to let us in unless we take back that we said, as if we were the rude ones. The way they were enjoying misusing their “power” putting people down completely turned us off. One of us was then rejected for no reason and we left. Being a business owner myself, I would never tolerate any of my staff treating clients like this, such a terrible attitude.

It was an unforgettable night at Ivy Night Club! The atmosphere was electric, and the energy on the dance floor was off the charts. The music had us grooving all night long. What made it even more fun was the carefree vibe - some guys were rolling their eyes and even taking a power nap right on the dance floor! It added an unexpected and hilarious twist to the night. The party spirit was infectious, and I couldn’t help but love every moment of it. If you’re looking for a place to have an unapologetically wild and fun night, this is definitely the spot!

Worst experience ever. If I could rate this place below zero I would. After paying over $100 for tickets, we began walking in when we got pulled aside and told to leave because my partner HAD HIS HAIR BRAIDED. After asking why it was such a problem, they had no explanation besides “house rules”. His hair is a cultural style. As far as we’re concerned it’s plain racism. My friends, my partner and myself are completely appalled by this experience and I will certainly never step foot near the venue again.

We attended a relatives wedding reception at The Ivy Function Centre. Wow , what an experience. From the tastfully designed decor to the amazing service from wonderful staff , the Ivy should be given a close look when booking an ultimate reception or function. The food was fresh , tasty and plentiful. No one could leave the reception complaining that there wasnt enough to eat. I highly recomend The Ivy Function Centrefor the ultimate 5 star experienc.

First club I went to while visiting Australia. Went on a Thursday night, great vibes! 10/10. Even came back a week later because we had such a fun time. People there were there to dance and have a good time. No weirdos or creepy men in sight! The only strange thing was how intense security was. There were three rows of security to get through and I had to provide my ID and passport each time. Props to them for prioritizing security/safety!

This place is racist. Me and my mates brought tickets and got through the first round of security, they came running after my mate with no explanation saying they saw something on camera and then changed it to house rules. After 5min of asking what the problem was and not getting an answer they finally tell us because of his hair style. The security was getting in our face saying it is house rules. Where does it say that cultural hairstyle is banned. And we still haven’t got our refund.
I was a little nervous about coming after reading the reviews & being from interstate but having already purchased a ticket for Crazy P and making my way to the venue I was really happy with the ID/ticket scanning process. All nice staff. I soon found my way to the iconic rooftop. The rooftop was beautifully lit with an array of colours and I was instantly transported into the vibe. Many great spots to watch and dance to the DJs and I never had to wait for a drink.
Racist!! Worst experience ever after going to the ivy with a few friends and passing the first part of security we were quickly turned around by a security claiming that one of our friends was seen on the security camera but they wouldn’t explain why. After five minutes of excuses they finally tell us because of his hair he was not allowed in. Because of his cultural hair style he was denied entry and we have wasted $100 on entry and still waiting for our refund!
Security staff targeted the wrong people (my group) multiple times (one of them due to: “having too much fun”). Security were not nice, one of the hosts was pretty cool but told me not to argue even though I’m RSA certificated and was told that I was intoxicated which I wasn’t. Also I had to tell them multiple times to return my ID after they put me a “warning” for doing nothing. Another host gave us a lesson (which we didn’t ask her morale classes) about drugs.
Corporate Breakfast Event Venue. I attended a corporate event at The Ivy which is conveniently located opposite the George Street entrance to Wynyard Station on a Light Rail stop. The venue worked well with separate facilities for the pre presentation networking and for the formal presentation in a casual theatre setup. The light breakfast food and beverages were of a high standard offered by efficient staff.

Very nice to enjoy night out with friend and colleagues. Price: high Atmosphere: Very Good Music: Good People: depending on the day, sometimes too much international people, sometimes many local. Also, more office ppl after work hours, young vibe during the Fri-Sat nights. Clean and good club! Pool bar is the signature of Ivy. #Ivy #sydney #keepveronica #club #placetogo #NSW #CBD #music #poolbar #pool #drinks
After a very long time went there on Thursday night and had a great time. Nice big club with multiple floors and good music, great crowd and the security team seem to be very polite and friendly compared to last time. We went there around 9.30 pm with free entry and only few people were there. But by 10.30 the club was full and the main dance floor was packed. Worth trying out especially on a Thursday night.
Fantastic venue but unfortunately as of late the staff is letting gangs get away with too much without kicking them out or banning them. Specially African gangs I've witnessed on multiple occasions them assaulting people and groping women who clearly want to fight back but they're bullied by a bunch of thugs who clearly belong in jail rather than a night out with people who are minding their business.
Shocking venue terrible events here I paid $120 and the toilet queue was 40minutes all night. When I tried to use the men’s bathroom which was empty they blocked me and told me they would throw me out the venue. It’s a basic human right to go to the toilet, put more woman’s bathrooms in the venues and hire staff to fix the out of order cubicles!!! I hate this place.

Would randomly picked us and kicked us out being only an hour. We just had ONE I repeat ONE drink and was told we were highly intoxicated. Not to mention we paid 70+ aud to get in and would randomly asked to get out. If the club gets too crowded which they over sold tickets thry wont care and will kick you out saying you are too drunk without any logical explanation.
A clubbing experience that is out of the ordinary! Multi level areas, with a rooftop and pool (closed for swimming) ! So many different places to discover, with trendy music and so many bar areas! Incredibly busy and a bit on the young side when it comes to the general crowd age. But definitely worth a visit to experience it first hand! The $10 entry was worth it.
Seems it gets crazy busy with the younger crowd and backpackers on a Thursday night. (Particularly popular the night I walked past due to Christmas parties in the Ivy and line of party goers waiting to get in before the $10 cover charge after 10pm kicked in). Definitely a few nice restaurants in the area too for those looking for something a bit more sedate.
Everything was excellent presented and the food was 10/10. The people working there was really really nice to us. High recommend

It's in the middle of the City Centre so the only parking is at a parking station around the venue.
We had a Christmas party at the Ivy, The venue was suitable for large volumes of people. Hundreds. It has multiple floors, a huge dance floor and stage and multiple bars. Equally there were spaces where you could have a more personal conversation. The staff were friendly and the food - tapas was delicious. A fun night was had by all.
Was refused entry to this place because I was wearing a ‘ branded shirt’ , I questioned why such a stupid rule was in place. I was then told I could come in if I turned it inside out. Music and nightlife is about vibes , energy and having a good time ,should not matter what I’m wearing or if I have tattoos. Such a pathetic rule
Went to Ivy Thursdays last week, paid $21 entry, the djs were great, however they repeated the set so you heard the same songs over and over again, lack of sitting spaces and lining up ages for the toilets/ bar wasn’t great. The ambiance was dark and dingy, and the customer service lacked. Won’t be back in a hurry.
I don't think it's fair that people should be refused entry by a third line of bouncers after going through one line of bouncers for an ID check and one line of staff for ticket purchase. Merivale makes enough money without resorting to these sneaky tactics.

Perfect location but bad sound system and worst people. Not the best place for party. This location with the right Party people would be great. Worst choice of drinks. Entrance 40 Dollar. I loved the location but that's it. To much security anyway. For what !!!!! This location in Europe would be amazing.
The music sucks, the drinks are expensive... people are just standing or sitting around and chatting. No one is dancing except handful bobbing their head. If you are looking to party maybe this is not the place.

One of the best places in Sydney to Party ! The place is quite huge and you have various options within ! The vibe and atmosphere is probably one of the best in Sydney ! But the only negative here is the security staff as they are quite rude and don't know how to treat people appropriately ! More
I love the Ivy. It is such a great venue. Their house music night "Above" had pretty great tunes. I told the managers about the putrid smell from the toilets which reached the dancefloor and I hope they fix it soon. Other than that I highly recommend this venue...

Absolute please to be dining at Merivale venues. The standard and freshness of service is maintained across all venues. Like the foood was so frikking delicious . The staff is very attentive and proactive. The drinks came to the table crisp and undiluted. Which I love.
If you enjoy really long meaningless queues, to be racially profiled, and underwhelming expensive drinks, this is your place to go. There's several other places that you could spend your money at and have more fun than this shameless establishment. Avoid at all costs
I was there today and someone stole my MAC bag with cosmetics. I wanna say a big shout out to all the security staff. Honestly, these guys need a raise, they found some of my stuff, did a great job. Wow amazing service. Great people!!! Thank you for everything.
Despite my 21st birthday being a long time ago, we were turned away on the basis of lack of photo ID. They were willing to let us in if we paid $1000 for a private table. Was curious to see the place but I’ve crossed it off my bucket list. Don’t bother.
Might have just been the night we went on but didn’t have a great experience as a nightclub. Like a high school disco. Average DJs, music too quiet, lights too bright. Good for freshers, not for anyone who knows what a good club one is meant to be
It was ok, a lot of check points to get into the actual club. The bar for the event also stop serving alcohol an hour before the event finished. Pretty average with a narrow dancefloor too. To be honest it wouldn't be my first choice ♀️ …
Awesome place, never been before but definitely going back. People were friendly. Had a great night. Met lots of people, had lots of enjoyable moments... Thnaks to Ivy for being an awesome destination.

Would give it a -10 if i could. Very racist, rude and honestly disappointing experience. Was let to wait in line by 2 security personnel and then asked to move to the end of the line. Fine did that. My boyfriend who's European was allowed
Went for a planned night out to meet some friends that we’d been looking forward to for ages. After checking our IDs the bouncers decided that we were ‘too drunk’ to come in however we had 2 drinks 2 hours before we arrived and were not
My work had our Christmas party there, and at the end of the night I had accidentally injured my food on some broken glass. Special mention to Lorena & Aishwarya who took extra special care of me - these two are lovely, caring, and work
Awesome venue, which unfortunately attracts the wrong crowd. With a couple of exceptions, staff not particularly friendly or attentive. Security were friendly though which is awesome. Drinks reasonably priced. Some really awesome music
Overpriced drinks. Not worth it. Boring DJs, spent most of our time seating in the couch. Never going back. There are more fun bar in the city than this one. So disappointed

Always a wonderful night at Ivy, but noticed there's always an issue with the security. Had an unfortunate encounter and got kicked out of the line, when I proceeded to ask why I was met with 3 security guards aggressively

It was quite alright. But the way the people get looked at before coming in the place is so cheap and it can be definitely rectified and the security can actually work on that with the management venue.
Really a hit or miss. Some days its good other days its quite boring. Thursdays are their biggest days. Never had a problem with staff. Drinks are average price. About 13$ for a shot or vodka redbull.
I went to a business event at Ivy penthouse. Very nice service and nice setting, but the food wasn't nice. Too salty, cold and rare steak which gave me a terrible marathon to the toilet after 1.5hrs
The ambiance was alright. Pretty good seating areas. But drinks are not worth it and music was "bland". We left after only an hour and went to another place so it was not worth the entrance fee.
Great staff, fantastic atmosphere and great tunes. Was fairly short wait for drinks, toilet access and quick line to get until the venue. Ivy Sundays had a great crowd. Loved every minute of it
The pool at ivy precint is one of the iconic places in sydney. Its called the ivy pool. The place is open until 3am, however the bar closes at around 1am. Overall a great evening spent here

One of the best club in the city, Lost Sunday is the best night in my opinion if you love house and electronic music.
Cool venue, I guess... Had an event here, diverse venue options. Ballroom was small for 100 people but cozy
I went to lost Sundays. Didn't have any issues with security or the people in attendance
