I would first off like to state that this is the first time using this Enterprise location and I will never go back! My wife had her car in the shop so the shop referred us to this Enterprise. They were nice to pick us up like they state in there company slogan. We got there and the Gentleman that helped us was good or so we thought. He showed us a car and we looked at it but the man said this car has damage to it (RED FLAG Number ONE!) So he showed us another car and we selected that since it didn't have damage or so we thought... The guy started the car and did the paperwork and and did a walk around of the car in the dark with a flashlight, Red Flag Number 2!) and my wife pointed out a few scratches and dents I guess they have a gauge that determines if the dent or scratch is actually damage. So he marked a few spots on our sheet and thought the car was good to go. Well it wasn't until we got in the car and the tire pressure light was on, I guess the guy was really cold and rushing since it was 5:50pm and they close at 6pm and didn't see the indicator light. That's (Red Flag Number 3!). My wife went in to get the guy that helped us and he came and looked at the light in disbelief that a customer had just came up with a problem before leaving the parking lot I guess it's unheard of that the customer is always right. I was standing by the car when he pulled it into the garage. The guy started filling the tires and two tires were low. When he was doing that I advised him that there was more damage to the roof of the vehicle he said "Don't worry about it he would take care of it." That was not the case when we dropped off the car and a few days later we received a letter stating that there was damage to the roof. I have spoken with the branch manger and he was not very helpful. He stated that my wife's phone was disconnected when he tried to reach her while she was at work, when it was never turned off. He did not leave any message with her. I would just like this issue to be resolved.

Better Than Owning a Car! I have been a committed Enterprise renter for several years now, since getting fed up with the mounting repair bills and dumping my last car. My kids were all grown so the expense of owning a car was just not worth it. Plus, walking more, using public transportation and being able rent a car when I need it turned out to be great for my health, well-being and finances. I have almost always gotten attentive, customer service AND support from this Enterprise location and others. Many of the agents have gone above and beyond to help resolve the occasional reservation problem and I love that no matter what size car I reserve, if my class is not available, they put me in the next best thing -- even if they have to get a car from another location. Yes, there have been some problems, but very infrequently and not serious enough to kick Enterprise to the curb. My only real complaint is that the weekend promotion is now offered by only one Chicago location, which is miles and miles away from my home. It takes me 2 hours to get there and pick-up service is, of course, not available. I pass lots of locations that are closer to me just to that one site. That is NOT cool! I feel that the weekend deal should be available to frequent renters all year-round as a membership or rewards perk, no matter what the location. Keep up the great service, multiple locations and selection of cars, Enterprise, but there is still room for improvement!

I reserved a rental months ago. When I showed up they began to wash the van for me then stopped and said they couldn't rent the van because there was a seat belt recall. It sounded suspect. They said they would bring in a van from another location. I waited for a little while and inquired about a SUV instead. They said their only SUV was getting currently getting an oil change. I was informed it would be a half hour wait. While waiting, a man who I assumed to be the manager, stated they could rent me the van because it wasn't affected by the recall because it has less than 30,000 miles. Again sounds suspect. I don't understand because I made my reservation months in advance. By the way, I checked the Ford recalls and the last announcement for seat belt recalls in 2016. Furthermore why would mileage have anything to do with the recall of seat belts as that has to do with manufacturing date, not mileage. I believe I was lied to, repeatedly. When I received the van, my children found empty food boxes and water bottles in the van, beneath the seats. The no gun sign on the door was enough to boycott any future rentals from this facility. I do NOT support businesses who discriminate against my rights. Originally that was going to be the sole nature of my review. However the very poor services is equally enough to boycott.

Shockingly bad customer service. I was given a van this week that smelled, someone clearly had been sick in it. I called twice, including yesterday, September 5, and was told initially that I was mistaken, it was a new car smell. Every person who has been a passenger in the van has commented that it smells like vomit. I was told there was nothing the local office could do, it was a busy day. Later Saturday morning, I had a flat. I called for their roadside assistance, and was told AAA would come out and put on the spare, and I should go to O'Hare for a new car because driving for miles on a spare was dangerous. But reservations were made, no inventory check was done, and there were no cars available. I was THEN told to take the car to Firestone. That's it, no assurance that an invoice would be opened, or a number Firestone could reference when taking in the car. After 2.5 hours of calling around, only to find there were no cars available in Chicago and that Firestone had no idea what I was talking about, I just paid AAA to repair the car. The kicker was he said the car was the worst-smelling thing he'd ever run across.

When I booked the car over the phone, I was told that the facility closes at 5:00 pm and if you bring the vehicle after 5:00 pm, next day charges would be applied. Long story short, I arrived back to Chicago a day earlier around 8:30 pm, and relaxed home as there is no way to drop the car. Next day went to the location before 5:00 pm leisurely. Dropped the car and sale man was very professional but I was told that since I took the car at 11:00 am therefore, you should have brought before 11:00 am not to be charged for the next day. Matter of the fact is I could have brought the car back a night before at 8:30 when I arrived back had I been guides correctly that there are drop boxes ( which I saw when I was there ) installed out there. Now I am being charged an extra day. Not my fault, Please refund, not fair, bad customer service. !!!

I had a reservation for a minivan, showed up on time but the minivan was not ready. The vehicle was dirty inside/outside and they just sprayed water to make me think they cleaned it. The agent did not bother to explain the terms and conditions of the rental, charged me $16.50 a day for insurance without giving me any explanation whatsoever. The agent seemed in a hurry and there weren't even any other customers around. I was charged for a week rental and only had the vehicle for 4.5 days. Upon returning the vehicle I was told if one rents a vehicle for 5 days, that you will be charged for a week's rental. The explanation was after the fact and I had to ask. Completely dissatisfied with this location. No customer service skills at all and customer satisfaction is on the bottom of their priorities.

I made a registration online for a last minute trip to leave the following day. The next morning, a few hours prior to the scheduled pickup, I received a call that they didn’t have any cars available. When I stated that I booked online and was confused that I was able to book, the employee informed me that management had ‘forgotten’ to disable online booking when they closed that day. He suggested I try another location. No offer to help. After several phone calls, I found another location, 20+ miles away that had cars. But they were not able to honor the rate I had reserved at. So, is $100+ more and I am on my way to try the Independence location. Very disappointed in the customer service at the Gladstone location. I will be contacting corporate to work on the difference in rates.

Over the years, I have given my business to Enterprise at multiple locations. However, customer service has been lacking at my usual go to. It seems the leadership and staff there isn’t holding true to the standards of what I’ve known this brand of car rental agency to be. So, I reached out to Ryan, the manager at the 5451 N. Northwest Highway branch, who without hesitation went above and beyond to ensure my experience was a positive one. He runs a welcoming and efficient crew as well. As a single mom to a disabled child, Ryan gave me peace of mind knowing he was looking out for us. That’s a rarity in these times. I highly recommend this branch for your car rental needs.

We made an appointment on Friday to have a car ready at 9:30am on Monday...not only were we not picked up until 10:15 along with another person who had made an appointment for 9:30, when we finally got to the office, and after waiting in line we were told we would need to be taken to another location to get the car. When we got to the 2nd location we waited for them to find the reservation, while taking other calls, and helping people who phoned in. Then we had to return back to the original location for more paperwork. The experience could not have been worse!

Horrible experience. Didn't mention anything about under 27 yr old renter fees, didn't inform me that my insurance will cover the basic cov which he sold me for an additional 16.50. Had a Nissan Versa Note rented for 8 days and was bombarded with a 750 dollar bill. I understand that there was a 75 dollar relocation fee but this bill is absolutely ridiculous. I also told him that insurance will only cover 30 dollars a day but I guess he completely ignored that part. It was a fantastic time. Good luck trying to get me to rent a car from Enterprise again.

When I rent cars, it is usually rent from Enterprise. Recently I moved to Las Vegas and came back to Chicago for the holidays. I rented a car from Enterprise and I could not of had a better experience. The team at the 5451 N Northwest Hwy as top notch, kind and moved fast. Exactly what you want your experience to be. Due to a heavy flow of people renting cars, the car I reserved was not available they upgraded me to a Volvo at the same cost. Amazing car and great experience. Next time you rent a car, do yourself a favor and rent from Enterprise.

I got into a car accident and got rental car through insurance. I got about quarter tank of gas. I filled up full tank an hour before getting a car from body shop saying that my car is ready for pickup. I returned the vehicle with a full tank of gas. So i called and see if I get credited or sort of refund for gas money, assistant manager Jake basically said that they cannot do refund for gas money. BUT they do charge if vehicle returned with less gas in the tank than at the time customers picking up the vehicles. Gasoline ain't cheap nowadays.

They left the curbs that establish the permiter of their property covered in snow. It was easy to make a mistake and drive over the curb as both myself and my ride there did. Unfortunately I got stuck on the curb in the rental car and the manager Ryan said that the curb was "clear as day". If It was, both me and the person before me wouldn't have driven over the curb Additionally, the entire time, ( 4 hours), that I waited for a tow on their property, the manager did nothing to remove the snow from the curbs

I really prefer using Enterprise for my car rental needs (and I have a lot since I gave up my car when I moved) because they make it so easy with their pick-up and drop-off service. The only issue I had was that the previous renters smoked in the car they gave me so the stale smell was really off putting. However, the weather allowed for me to drive the car with the windows down and Enterprise gave me a credit when I returned the car which was really appreciated. I will use this location again.

They were very busy and it was pretty much time to close, yet they managed to get everyone taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. Would have given them 5 stars except for the fact that the manager seemed less than interested when I tried to inform him of a potential mechanical issue with the car I returned a few days later. It was a 2017 with only 4k miles on it and should not be slipping when coming out of 1st gear...might wanna look into that, just saying.

If you're having work done at the neighboring body shop Cosmetic Auto do not under any circumstance listen to this Enterprise branch and leave your rental there for them to pickup as a gesture of great customer service and perk of their relationship with said body shop. I fell for this scam and they called me the next day claiming over one thousand dollars in damage. Because I didn't do a walkthrough at time of drop-off this was my responsibility. Buyer (renter) beware.

Ok I'm seeing some bad reviews but I been there 3 times already and never had a problem the only problems I can think people are having is they book last min and then get mad. But if u book ahead of time online or even call they will for sure make sure u have everything ready to go .. I was in and out in no time wen I went. The team is super helpful in every way they can may it be a car truck or just understanding your bill. It's a most go to place.

I adore Enterprise Rent-A-Car! I don't know why all of your competitors have not copied your "we pick you up" point of difference. (Has someone done a "me, too" campaign -- I'm not aware of it.) I don't care about how much they cost, I love the fact that they pick you up and drop you off. I only need a car when mine is out of service, so this is an absolutely invaluable service. Great personnel .... great cars. Thanks for being who you are!

I don't rent cars often, but from now on, I will always come here. The staff was friendly and courteous. My car was clean and waiting for me. The agent who assisted me was quick with all the paperwork and went out with me to inspect the car and asked if I needed anything. When I returned the car, paperwork was quickly completed and the agent gave me a ride to the train station. Car was nice, company was nice the staff was great.

This enterprise location is the best. After trying out a few locations in Chicago, I started using them for all my car rental needs for my business and sometimes personal use. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, and they are extremely flexible and have helped me out in quite a few unpredictable situations. They offer after hours drop-off and are very hands on with customer service. I highly recommend this location.

Customer service was good and professional. I was picked up on time and driven to the rental location. The vehicle I was in was a rat, a Chevrolet Equinox with 65k miles on it. I asked if they had any other cars. The reply was “no it’s the market”. Enterprise should rethink the market. If I’m in need of another rental I’ll look somewhere where the so called market isn’t a very basic vehicle with 65k miles on it.

If I could give -stars I would. This location sucks! They act like they are doing you a big favor by renting you a car. I wasn't given a choice of what car I wanted even when I tried to call in advance! The guys that work there are obviously miserable and hate their job. I was given a dirty car that smelled horrible. They even tried to pin damages from the car on me! I will NEVER go back to this location!

Calling to get a reservation is like oulling teeth. Instead of answering my question they respond with questions? When u asked if they had a car available the woman started asking questions about my ID. Like hold on I need more information before I nake a any decisions. Cars are aging. Cars not very clean. Windshields are frequently dirty. Update: Management notified, again. All of these things are correctable. On my last visit, the employee gave me a "free" upgrade because I'm fairly certain they were out of my car class and then tried to charge me for it. Thanks but no thanks. Fire the cleaning crew: They had plenty of chances to improve. Please try harder folks.

Leroy and his co workers are wonderful! I have rented here several times. The are prompt helpful very courteous and upbeat!! I will rent from them every time I visit Chicago which is frequent at least 6 to 7 times a year. My only issue was that there had been a smoker in the truck I rented. The staff at Enterprise was on the ball last Friday when I rented a car, last minute to go out of town. I 'Ve used this location before and never had any problems. I've been renting cars here for about 5 years, 30+ rentals a year. The staff is exceedingly accommodating. I have also observed how they treat other customers and it is always in a courteous manner. When a glitch arises, they have always had some solution at the ready. If no car is available in my class, they just upgrade at no cost. I wouldn't rent from anywhere else.

They give you Cars with dents and scratches and don't tell you about it. So you have to worry if you'll be charged or not. I would take pictures of all the damage with your phone just in case. Also, the Chicago rental tax is astronomical which almost adds $50 to every 500 you spend. You might as well drive to the suburbs and save money.

Did not know about the "no debit card policy". I was told that my card was only as good as cash and that I needed to have a good credit and pay my bills on time. That's quite insulting. I am only renting the car not leasing it. Terrible customer service and very rude. Do not waste your time. Stick with Budget.

I had a reservation for July 2023 for a 15 passenger van that I made in October 2022 and they decided to cancel my reservation because a priority account needed the van. How inconsiderate of these people to cancel my reservation that I booked 9 months prior. Never will I do business with these people again.

The car shook when I got up to 55mph,and from the time i reserved the car on line prices tried to be changed,and even though I brought the car back early I was still charged a full day for the gps,and toll pass. I was told someone from corporate would call me. hey did not.

Ryan and the team here are great. Personalized helpful service, pick people up from nearby businesses and public transit. Does alot of insurance claims business and one of the ONLY Enterprise locations in Chicago that honors neighborhood rates and promotions. They rock!

I recently moved my business from Hertz to Enterprise. I went to this location, and Adam was professional and very helpful. I showed up and within five minutes I walked out with no headaches or issues. They have earned my business.

2nd visit was much better than the first. Office has been cleaned. Service was reasonably prompt but there was a 20 minute wait for a pick-up. Still very limited car selection but was able to get a satisfactory car.
