Disappointed: Last Wednesday 26 July I went to a 145pm session with a friend to see a movie called Oppenheimer. The movie was excellent except the first 20 minutes. We could not hear it very clearly because the sounds was muffled. But the worst part was that it was freezing cold. To spend money to go into an extreme screen cinema for three hours, plus and to be frozen is not a good experience. Finally a team member came to see us .. Upon complaining to Sam at the ticket counter who said he will speak to his manager. (Note.. no manager was anywhere to be seen!) Sam took our contact details. We would’ve hoped that after seven days, we would’ve had a reply and promised compensation. Took us time to even find a person to talk to as the ticket desk was not attended by staff. Yet the food outlets had staff to take money for overpriced food. Really really disappointed in the lack of service and customer care at what should normally be a good experience. Don’t talk to your customers and get feedback if you can’t have the decency to follow it up. Won’t be rushing back !!
Firstly, The theatre quality is more than insane. I’ve been to watch “Mortal kombat” which is made by DC. Sound quality is 3d. I could literally feel the inside atmosphere of movie. Sound proof wall works perfectly fine. To add on seats are recliner. That’s very comfortable than rest of many other theatres. Secondly, i had bought popcorns and drink of pepsi max in very less price. Prices are affordable to buy food. Seating arrangements is also very attentive. I got unlimited drink in offer. Thirdly, staff has very positive and friendly attitude towards costumers. They smile and have a good talk. And lastly i would say this was my best experience to watch movie in Australian theatres ever. I would only choose to watch movies only at hoyts cinema.❣️
Hoyts staffs are so untrained, lack of knowledge and ridiculous☠️☠️☠️! They do not inform customers about any information regarding the temporary exchange of closed caption machine with driver license. They took mine away and when I finished my movie, no one was out there (no phone replied) and I cannot get my license back!!!! This is ridiculous, as so many people need license in life and work, but they took it away without notifying me. I have be alerted before, I would not choose to exchange my license with the machine. This is making my life so much inconvenient and I have call and get to the place again to find Hoyts staff. This action is irresponsible, unacceptable and so inconsiderate!
I have visited twice the past two Saturday evenings. The booking online is easy. The cinema chairs are super comfortable and roomy and so great that they recline. My only reason to take away a star was because of the cleanliness. The candy bar floor was filthy both times I attended, all bins upon entering and exiting our sessions were overflowing, and there was popcorn on our seats and the floors. I understand it was peak times with huge movies each time I visited, however it did take away from the experience slightly. A little room for improvement, maybe just a couple of extra cleaning staff required for the super busy sessions. Overall though, cinema sound and visual quality was great and very comfortable viewing
Wow what happened to Hoyts Chadstone This cinema was once thought of as luxurious… we went on a Sunday evening and it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since Friday. The confectionery area was dirty, floors were sticky, bins full, drinks area a mess. The waiting area was messy. And the women’s toilets were filthy and soiled, there wasn’t hand wash and some of the toilets were either out of order (2 were so fouled they weren’t usable) or were out of paper. Now I completely understand we were here at the end of a day BUT wouldn’t you assume there’s be cleaning crews employed during peak hours?? We used to be regular movie goers here but won’t be coming back in a hurry.
Beautiful design, spacious, amazing ambiance. Lot of cenimas say 8 or more screenings at a time. Xreme screen : Sound quality and screen experience was good, seating was comfortable, you have electric bottons for seats to move seating positions, wide chairs, cup holders. Staff: Polite and helpful. Surprising factor, you pick your popcorn, drink and then go to counter to pay, they scan your rewards card, patiently wait to pay. Good experience. Vary spacious ticket counter, well designed layout for food stuff. Relaxed environment. Lacks clear seat markings to enter your seat lanes. But individual seat numbers are good. Will visit again....
Not only did I have a pleasant experience at this Hoyts cinema, but it also makes for a great option for families. The cleanliness of the facility and the movable seats added to the overall comfort and convenience. Despite a minor delay in cleaning, which left a few seats slightly dirty, it didn't take away from the enjoyable experience, especially for families. Whether you're planning a movie outing with your loved ones or looking for a comfortable cinema experience, this venue is a solid choice. It offers a family-friendly atmosphere and amenities that will enhance your movie-watching experience. Give it a try and see for yourself.
Located in Chadstone Shopping Centre, Hoyts Cinemas offer a Variety of Cinema entertainment for everyone. Very spacious sorroundings, a Bar and plenty of goodies to enjoy during a movie. Only Downer was that Cinema 2's reclining seat's 13, 14 and 17 did not recline at all ! If the Comfort of reclining seats is included in the Price, then Hoyts should get its act together. Given the fact that they announce and wish everyone to enjoy the Movie (Mortal Combat) in the comfort of the reclining seats, it amounts to false advertising.
This place is the best. Standard cinema and Extreme Screen - seating is large, comfortable, and can recline. The Candy bar is huge. There is a bar and restaurants in the foyer area. Pretty nice. Where this place really takes off is with the LUX experience. Private LUX bar upstairs, lay back seating with foot rest, in seat menu delivery, and great service by the friendly staff. I made the mistake of taking my partner to LUX ... now that is the only way I can get them to a movie
Our seats weren’t just double booked they were triple booked… had to go all the way back out to the ticket purchase counter to see which seats were free and try and sit there. Staff were no help and very dismissive, though this seems like a booking system issue so perhaps they weren’t sure how to handle. We still managed to see the movie but disappointed that we had much worse seats than the ‘back-middle’ we had booked, about 15 of us had to just find spots due to the triple booking.
We went to.Hoyts Lux on 18th April and ordered drinks, food and dessert. The dessert was served with only 10 minutes left for the movie to finish, and that too after pressing the button - Very disappointing as the warmed dessert became cold and we had to eat in a rush and could not enjoy it. The cold drinks were served warm. There was only us 4 watching the movie and 2 staff outside but still got very poor service. Please improve and not to the standards expected.
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Me and 3 friends went to see killers of the flower moon last night (8:30pm session, cinema 7). WE HAD MICE RUNNING ON OUR CHAIRS, FEET AND ARMS!!!!! You heard me. MICE! We had to move seats twice, and then just left the cinema. Tried to find someone afterwards to tell them but no one was there as it was so late. Absolutely horrified by this experience. Please set some traps!!!!!! Still in complete shock.
Found it a bit unfair that I had to pay for a full price ticket to share my seat with a mouse, not sure if this was my fault and I was actually in the wrong seat and he was too polite to tell me. Regardless, the mouse situation made it incredibly hard for me to focus on the movie and he did over step the friendship by eating my snacks off of my lap which made me leave the movie halfway through. (Cinema 7 Seat H17)
As Always Hoyts offers the best experience in movie theatres. Lux is just amazing, you have your friendly staff there at call of a button to order anything you want from an extensive menu, from popcorn to gourmet food. Complementary popcorn and drinks are a standard with your movie tickets, and the seats... They are fully reclinable couches. Super comfortable. Highly recommended.
What an amazing shopping centre. Likely the biggest shopping centre in Australia. I went to watch a movie at Hoyts. It's at L2 and there are elevators very close to the screens directly from the parking. A lot of parking is available at LG. coming to the theatre, the screens are magnificent. Washroom is available inside but seems very untidy. Movies. Booking tabs are available.
Hoyts Chadstone is now new and improved with reclining seats and a fresh new setting. The cinema is located in the new area of Chadstone and is modern and pristine. The movie experience is enhanced with large spacious but yet comfortable seats. The snack bar has now become a wonderland of treats but the price tag is quite hefty. Movies are now an even more enjoyable experience.
Chadstone hoyts has been my favorite movie theater and been there so many times. However i was so shocked yesterday that i saw little mouse crawing next to my seat. I moved to other seat but still I couldnt focus on movie.. shocking experience ever….I have doubt of their cleaning policy and hygiene…. I dont think i can go there anymore as it reminds me of the mouse!!!
Great big giant comfy chairs. Lots of space for each of us. I'm tall but didn't feel cramped at all. I have nothing bad to say about the picture or audio quality. Everything was perfect. I'm glad we went here :) I would be happy to recommend Hoyts and I would be very happy to go again, considering the nice experience we had there together :) Hopefully we can all go again soon
One of the best place watch movies in the town. Have lot of parking spaces to park and also there is free bus service. The Hoyts theatre is very clean and very well organised . The all types of screens from normal to lux and extreme . There is Food out let place present . And the best park you can take your alcoholic drink inside the theatre and watch your movie with drink.
INFESTED WITH RATS!! Movie constantly interrupted by people in the audience screaming and flipping their food and drink because rats had run across their laps/started nibbling on their food. No staff around to speak to about this issue and reading the other reviews recently, looks like this has been a regular occurrence for this cinema. Disgusting! Do something about it!
Absolutely horrendous time here. We paid for the Lux experience, which comes with food being delivered to you. My partner and I did not get our food at all, and only after promoting staff we finally got our food at the end of the film. Then, to really top things off, we now have an extreme case of food poisoning. Please don't waste your time going here.
Great sound, screen and chairs. Nice and spacious and comfortable. Do not eat here. Food really poor quality and super expensive. Staff lovely but no co ordinated. We had staff bring us other people’s orders numerous times through the film. My tip, eat prior to the movie and enjoy the comfort and cinematic experience without the interruptions.
We saw equaliser 3 today at Hoyts Lux Chadstone. The service was extremely bad and disappointing. It took such a long time to get our food and drinks. The movie was almost finished by the time we received it. Food was cold. There was no toilet paper in the toilet either. Customer service was very poor. Definitely will not come back again.
Absolutely disgusted with Hoyts Chadstone cinema today. I would expect better from Hoyts as its said to be one of the best cinema in the country. I guess not when there’s worms crawling on your seat! The recliner also did not work! Disappointed! Also disappointed with the pop corn as it was so salty and gave me a bad headache.
The movie experience with LUX was amazing. They had clean and tidy lounges and reclining seats for comfortable cinema experience. Staffs were friendly and helpful. They were very organised and patient while serving the food. Quality of food was not up to the mark, however dessert was amazing and quantity was huge.
Do NOT order anything online because: 1) they are slow n your movie would have already started 2) no coffee because the caffe was CLOSED n couldn't receive my order 3) movies do Not Start on time n on weekend that I visited, they were cleaning while the movie should have been started already It was just a mess
Went to see the 8.45pm Hunger Games movie on Thursday and there were rats crawlings on the seats behind us and beside us!! Then when we left the cinema to tell someone, there was no staff to be seen anywhere. Really disappointing considering this was one of our favourite cinemas.
The complex is great but I attended a movie in Cinema 7 this evening. I sat in Row I seat 1. The speaker next to me up high on the wall kept making a very loud cracking noise throughout the entire 2 hour movie. It was so annoying. At first I thought it was another earth tremor.
We watched Mission Impossible in the Xtreme screen where you pay premium rates. The arm rests in the seat in screen I13 were broken. The sound quality was nice. However, I was disappointed to note that no maintenance has been done to fix broken seats.
My wife and I normally go to gold class at village but were given a gift voucher for Hoyts Lux. I was very impressed with the service from the staff at Hoyts I believe it was a step above what you get at village cinemas I would happily go again
Very nice theater, and the seats are great. Reclining leather seats and Mt dew slushies. What is not to like? Edit: I tried the lux today, and it was fantastic. Was not expecting much from the food, but it was good, too. Service is top-notch.
Went to watch movie and came out with bleeding ears. Volume was extremely loud and was hard to tolerate. It ruined the whole movie to be very honest. They really need to check the volume, bass and music before they let people in to torture.
The movie experience is good, but the snack bar is extremely expensive where you can easily spend more than your tickets cost for a small popcorn and a drink. I find this experience as a feeling of being scammed to pay $8 for a soda drink.
Went in recently simply wanting to switch sessions to a later time I had already booked on that day. Walked past multiple sets of employees standing and talking, went through 4 employees who didn’t know the answer, waited for 15 minutes
Too many broken recliners, looks like they are understaffed too. Popcorn overly salty and drinks are expensive. Unless you are in Chadstone already, I wouldn't recommend going just for movie here as parking would be a nightmare.
What a great cinema and a fantastic movie! "Road to Boston" was partly shot in Australia, and well done to all Australians involved in the Aussie production. Thank you, Hoyts, for the many screenings of this fab feature film.
Airplane seats have more recline in them... Gutted the the standard cinema (5) didn't have more recline. It's the only reason I choose Hoyts...I'm tall and not reclining sucks for long movies. Otherwise clean etc good cinema.
I love their comfy reclining chairs. The cinema is spacious but cozy. The sound system is top notch. Perhaps that raises the ticket and food prices a bit over average. We come here quite often to relax and enjoy the movies.
Nice , only complaint is that the movie was too loud ,too much bass that we couldnt even hear the dialogues properly ,had to plug my ears half the time . I am not sure whether its a hoyts problem or the indian cinema
The tickets are cheaper than village cinemas, but the snacks are ridiculously priced. My friend bought popcorn, a drink and an ice cream and it was $35 dollars. The seats are great even in the standard cinemas.
There were rats in the cinema.Other reviews mentioned this issue too. Seems hoyts does not care about this rat infestation.Next time i will go to village cinema in mcity which is only 5 min away from chadstone
A great place to come and see the latest cinema movies on a big screen. The recliners chairs are really good and comfortable. Each cinema have a place for wheelchair as well. Highly recommend for any age
Chairs were horribly uncomfortable, smelt overused and didnt recline properly, we tried 6 chairs. Screen huge and sound good. But not the class of Chadston Shopping centre one would expect .
Like how the seats recline in all Cinemas and not just Lux. I believe their self-service option at the Candy bar for food and drinks is a great idea as it reduces lengthy wait times.
Completely different to most cinemas. Many food outlets around then you pay for the ticket after you've bought the food, the screen is larger and the seats recline. Sool comfortable.
Excellent cinemas probably the best in Melbourne Watched the last 3 movies in Cinema 1 Extreme Screen Top Gun Maverick Fast n Furious X Sound of Freedom Seats are so comfortable
Rats running around in Cinema 7 also, back few rows. (Looks like they were there 4 days ago too, looking at recent reviews - So hasn't been fixed). Have emailed hoyts directly.
Comfortable seats, great snack and a seated area to wait for the movie cinema to be ready. The seats vibrated with the action. I highly recommend this Hoyts cinema at Chadstone
The cinema was good and comfortable but one thing is that when I ordered pepsi max at the counter at Hoyts Lux I ordered no ice and when the drinks came it had ice in it.
Best theatre experience. Had a good atmosphere but the snacks were bit overpriced. Apart from that since it's inside the mall it's a good spot to watch movies at ease.
very disappointed. session time was change without notification. seal allocation was changed from middle to side. movie does not start until 35 minutes of the session.
Fantastic, spacious and with lots of food choices. Lux is great and heaps better than gold class (get a free small popcorn and soft-drink on arrival). Friendly staff.
Wide reclining leather seats, great self serve snack/candy bar and even Ben & Jerry's. The new Hoyts revamp definitely ranks it the best cinema in Melbourne IMO.
Big screen, have reclining seat for standard option. the lounge is spacious, the toilet is clean. the cinema location on the level 2, above H&M (per Sep 2023).
It was always amazing and comforting experience. The seats are comfortable enough and screens are wide and enough distance to watch and great staff service.
Cinema is great, staff can’t answer a phone to save their lives. I’ve been trying to call in for hours now and not once has my call been answered!!
Went to the movies last night, very cold night and I had to put up with cold air conditioning for 2hrs on a winter's night. Good one hoyts!!
Nice cinema with great legroom space. My personal favourite was the seating; very comfy. Good cinematic experience at an affordable price.
Good cinema, I loved the seats and size of Xtreme screen. It’s just too crowded on weekends. Long queue at payment stations.
I went there on Monday, it was so nice and quiet. But importantly, the movie was so great, more than expected…love it
Lots better condition than the carousel one. Lux also including popcorn and drink in ticket price were not in Perth.
Best movie experience ever Recliner seating, immersive video and audio, vide range of snacks is a perfection! …
Pretty clean and neat, recliner seats. Joining membership for a small cost but 10a% off on tickets and snacks.
Comfy reclining seats and great sound effects. Drinks/nibbles are expensive, but that's the norm these days.
I dont think the reclining chairs are worth paying over $20 a ticket but i enjoy coming here with friends
It was an awesome experience. The seats are so comfortable. You will really enjoy watching a movie here.
Edit ~ after multiple movies over the years this venue is always awesome. Keep it up guys.
Best place to watch movies. With very comfy recliner seats and amazing screens and sound.
Comfy as seats. A bit pricey but who cares when you’re sitting in comfy seats! …
Review of Hoyts Chadstone Lux Comfy seats and nice lounge, but…
