I recently visited Village Cinemas Sunshine Market Place and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. From the moment I entered the cinema, I noticed that the overall cleanliness was lacking. The floors appeared to be in need of a thorough cleaning, and the atmosphere felt somewhat neglected. This initial impression set the tone for the rest of the visit. The theatre itself was quite disappointing. The screen quality left much to be desired, with noticeable issues that detracted from the movie-watching experience. The uncomfortable seats added to the discomfort, making it difficult to fully immerse myself in the film. It's disheartening to find that something as fundamental as comfortable seating was not up to par. The most disappointing aspect was the state of the restrooms. It was evident that they hadn't been properly cleaned, and the lack of hygiene was concerning. Dirty toilets can easily overshadow any positive aspects of a cinema visit, and in this case, it significantly impacted my overall experience. I sincerely hope that Village Cinemas Sunshine Market Place takes these concerns seriously and works to address them. Moviegoers deserve an environment that is clean, comfortable, and enjoyable. It's my hope that improvements will be made to enhance the overall quality of the cinema.
I am deeply disappointed by the appalling condition of the cinema hall at Village Cinemas in Sunshine. The lack of cleanliness and hygiene is a serious safety breach, especially in the ongoing pandemic where Covid-19 remains a threat. The sets inside the cinema hall are filthy and demand immediate attention. Proper deep cleaning and sanitization measures must be implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of the patrons. Ignoring these critical aspects not only compromises the health of the visitors but also exhibits a disregard for public health standards. If this matter is not addressed promptly, I am left with no choice but to escalate my concerns to the relevant government department and file an official complaint. Such non-compliance with safety regulations could lead to serious consequences, including the risk of losing the cinema's license. I strongly urge Village Cinemas management to take immediate action to rectify these safety concerns and prioritize the health of their customers. It is crucial to maintain a clean and safe environment during these challenging times.
Went to Gold Class Theatre. Gold Class seating is a bit tired and my seat slid out of square and became lop sided when I extended the foot rest out. Young staff running gold class were polite, engaging and friendly. On our visit they had a problem with internet down and EFT unable to operate requiring cash for any purchase. Cant blame venue for this issue. Actual movie experience was without fault. Started on time, crystal clear and sharp image with good sound system providing that immersive feeling. Gold Class food was tasty but a bit over priced for what it is. Ample free car parking nearby with a food court in the adjoing shopping centre. In terms of rating our Gold class experience i only give it three stars as other Gold Class venues are a bit more modern and less worn out than this venue so if you have other gold class options consider elsewhere.
Village Cinemas Sunshine offers a wide range of movie options with up to 12 or 15 screens, making it a bustling hub for film enthusiasts. It's a go-to destination for Indian movie fans as it consistently releases a variety of films in different languages. The screens provide a satisfying viewing experience, but the seating comfort is somewhat lacking. Moreover, cleanliness is not up to the mark, which can be disappointing for some visitors. Due to its popularity, the cinema tends to be crowded most of the time. Despite the drawbacks, the diverse movie selection and multiple screens make it a popular choice for moviegoers looking for entertainment options.
Title: Embracing Diversity and Flexibility This cinema has done an admirable job of positioning itself within a multicultural community. Their commitment to diversity is evident in their selection of films, which cater to a wide range of tastes and preferences. It's refreshing to see a venue that listens to its customers and international distributors, offering a variety of films that reflect the diverse world we live in. Moreover, flexible hours are a significant plus. This flexibility allows for more people to enjoy their services at times that are convenient for them, making movie-going a more accessible activity for all.
Movie: Adipurush 3 Stars are for Screen size + Starting movie on time + ample car park space Expectation was to have a similar experience like Hoyt's or better experience. But after entering I came to know that Screen 20 was not having Recliner Seats for any rows. Truly disappointing to sit and watch full movie on straight back seats ( really old seats) Tip: Look for which Screen offers Recliner Seats and then make booking. Definitely go for Falooda at FloraJuice Center nearby in your Movie finish by 0000hrs #VillageCinemasSunshine #NeedRecliners
The pictures tells a thousand words, this theatre needs some TLC, the aircon was not optimal during 2.5hour long movie session. The seats and audio were great during the VMAX movie session. Tried to locate the theatre number while entering the location, there was no signage or any service person to talk to at the main entry point. Service can be improved, parking was challenging and limited. Loved the free vrewards chocolate ice cream though. This place has potential if service is improved and not rely only on the movies to customers in.
I went to see the barbie at goldclass sunshine. The restroom area smell like fish market. It was very disgusting. We booked dinner for middle of movie and our food only come out last 20 min of the movie and also the desert was booked toward the end came out at the same time. So by the time we finished our dinner the ice cream started to smelt. We have to rushing to finish all the food because the movie finished. We tried to order a second sparking water and have to remind them twice for it. So it not really great goldclass experience.
Great place easy to get too. Viewed our movie from the Kids cinema. It was my first time with the family highly recommend. They could do a better job of cleaning the toys that the kids play with during the intermittents. Lego area was filthy! Staf, 1/10 for customer service and attitude. Everyone looked like they had better places to be on a Sunday or were getting over a long hangover from the night before. Next time we will be buying tickets online and bringing our own snacks to minimise contact with staff.
So many cinemas, gosh 20!!! Was great, ordered online, walked in, grabbed our pre-ordered snacks & went on in, staff welcoming & lovely, chairs were comfy. Amusing thing tho, booked row K online, but there was no row K, or row i, but we were at the back being row J. Boys thought the kids popcorn was very large, so great value kids pack, we also got the usual choc top, altho felt a bit soggy compared to usual choc tops... Toilets very tight entrances opening up to massive inside foyer type area, why?
I can't begin to say how disappointed I am. This was once my favourite cinema because it had a magic to it. The lights, the big ticket booth, the candy bar as well as all the adverts for movies coming out. You felt like such a kid as soon as you smelt that hot popcorn. Now this cinema has been gutted. I believe the gold class has been removed and entering the movies now seems dark and not really fun at all. I really hope this gets a big make over to bring back that special spark.
The experience we had here was great. The staff were helpful and added to the experience. Me and the family watched the new Willy Wonka movie, and for what's its worth, the kids loved it, as did my wife and I. Given my 5 kids can be somewhat..... boisterous, the staff were real patient and the food was great quality. We were fortunate to have the whole Gold Class to ourselves, but it was immaculate. Great experience all round. Thanks for the good night out.
Went to V-Junior, my sons first cinema experience. He absolutely loved it and was fantastic that they have intermission and kids get to play on a playground in the actual cinema. We had no idea what to expect but yeah if your a 6ft adult don't sit I the recliners or beanbags, they aren't made for our size our son loved it though. The food selection was great. 2 adults and a child was $65 all up so not too bad pricewise for a fun afternoon
Plenty of free car parking, cinemas are large so heaps of space.. V junior is great for the kids because they don't have to stay seated the whole time, the lights are dimmed thru the movie.. Different seats to chose from.. They have a slide that is open before the movie and during the 5 min break to use toilet.. there's also a hotwhrel corner and colouring corner where your pictures come to life on the movie screen. Would go there again!
- This could have been maintained better.. Looks very oldish (not in the direction of being antique though) - plenty of parking spaces available, it’s actually huge - interior is not bad (see photos) - Screen sizes could be a bit bigger (this may have happened because of so many screens in this cinema.. total 20 screens..) - the seats are not comfortable Look forward to visiting again strictly if this place gets renovated ever
I visited this place first time to see the movie Kesri and I like the movie but of course the cinema is not up to that level where you can have good time for 2 to 2.5hrs. Staff is good but the maintenance of cinema needs to be improved as it does not match the quality standards of other Village cinema around the city. I hope the management is looking for a change over or may be but if hygiene.
No security of cars parket in the lot. I parked my car to watch the movie in village cinema. I parked in the parking lot and the rear window glass of my new car was damaged by thieves and stole all the stuff inside the car. I am shocked why there was no security. I am sure there would be alarms when they broke the car's window glass. I am never ever going to watch movie again in this area.
Pros: Cinema is clean, plenty of leg spacing, can sit maximum 2hrs before starting to feel uncomfortable. Screen is big. Sound is standard and acceptable but there is room to improve. Staffs are very nice, friendly and patience to customers. Usually has Vietnamese movies which is why I give 5 stars otherwise 3 stars. Cons: I am not sure if I bought popcorns or a box of salts. yuck!
The girl at the ticket counter was very rude. She was not providing any information properly. Not cooperative at all. When we asked her about anything, she just simply said all the time, You have to know and I can’t help you with this. Even, at last when we thanked her and she made a weird face in the response and Ignored us. Very bad customer service. Her operator ID: 4004 Kat
Sunshine cinema is definitely an older building, however the cinemas are large so great if you want to sit away from other people. The gold class section is great. The people serving are always friendly and I have found food to not be too much of a wait. The food is great. Some chairs need a bit of fixing as they are getting old, however all in all a great experience.
I hit the jackpot! Enjoyed John Wick 4 in Gold Class - had the cinema all to myself . Seats were comfy, who doesnt love recliners! Had fries with arancini ballls and coke. Everything was tasty but a for serving fries in a heated bowl/cup. This kept the fries crisp and warm for a very long time, bravo! Staff provided great service.
For someone who had never been to gold class I really enjoyed it. The food was on point the staff were friendly and attentive. Cocktails and drinks did the job. My 1 and only criticism was the bar closed half way through the movie but we were there on a 930 session. Next time I will try an earlier session. But over all was a great night out.
The girl in the front with black hair was really rude to my patient. She didnt let her to choose her own seat. (6th of June- 2023) Employees need to be trained more in the field of disability. You should be better than this. They deserve better service. So we went to Hoyts instead of Village. I am not letting anyone to behave like this.
Have been coming here for over a Decade. They have everything a typical Cinema has. Have tried the gold, vJunior for kids and the standard. Great experience for every age. I would choose this place over going to Highpoint due to the locality as your not fighting traffic from the hordes going shopping and it's a little more cozy.
Gold class review. Good seats. Poor screen. Okay sound. Very slow service, not due to the poor staff but the cheap owners understaffing, which is ridiculous considering the outrageous prices they charge. $24 for 2 cokes and popcorn. $85 for tickets plus a ridiculous online booking fee of $6.50, which is price gauging.
I enjoyed coming here again, this time to see Anyone But You (2023) in Cinema 10, after having seen Shazam 2 earlier this year in Cinema 11. 5 stars. Wonderful screen size as always, plush seating sure beats leather any-day of the week in my brain, and hooray for the Australian filmed film. I enjoyed it, thank you.
Easy parking & close to public transport, set inside a shopping mall very handy for meals. Service can get slow at cashiers because customers choose snacks while buying movie tickets. Comfortable roomy seating, large facility and entertainment amenities, especially suitable for families or groups.
I went there for a South Indian movie without a lot of expectations but the movie experience was excellent. The sound was amazing, the watching experience was good. Ample leg room but no recliner seats. The staff was super friendly and you can take non-hot foods inside. Coffee is also allowed.
As a Sunshine resident this is an awesome place to be. It's one of the largest cinemas within the company and has 20 screens with three Gold class screens. Why would you go to knifepoint and the city when you have this on your doorstep, plus plenty of carparking to boot. Try it and enjoy!
The movies are fine, but it kind of feels a bit dated. Interior is very 80s/90s with a faded sign outside. There was no one to check our tickets on entry and just one person at the counter. The inside of the cinema is fine as far as I could tell, but just 2 other people came.
Went to V-junior. Nice clean venue good size cinema. Kids really enjoyed the amenities available. There was a slide, slot car track, building blocks and a dance floor. Loved the half time break as kids got to stretch their legs and refocus. We really enjoyed this experience.
Currently going through some renovations. But has potential. Heaps of cinemas, including the all luxurious Gold Class, V max, V jnr & standard. Plenty of free parking. I enjoy it, was concerned because eof the area but it was nice a d the staff were friendly and polite also.
Unfortunately we had a chair that was as though someone poured a bottle of water on. Thankfully chairs were reserved for emergency or situations as these so our family night out was not interrupted by this. Great service from those who attend to the cinema rooms.
This is a great place to take your children if they cant watch a full length movie. You get a 10min interval playtime... where there is a slide... hot wheels, your drawings can be put up on display etc...all in the same room.. this is perfect!
Only thing you will like here (probably) is the movie. That too could be a better experience at ANY other theatre in the area. Worst Ambience and worst upkeep. On the bright side you would not be able to sleep in the movie. …
Village Cinemas Sunshine offers a great movie experience! Comfortable seating, excellent sound, and a variety of snacks. However, occasional technical issues can be a downside. Overall, a solid choice for a fun night out.
Good cinema theatres with 20 screens running in parallel. Separate place for kids to play games as well. Screens Indian movies as well. The ambience could be better. Lot of parking space. Not as good seats as Hoyts'.
Cinemas are often quite empty, which can be a positive. The actual seats and physical building are definitely aging, but so far nothing major. Service is wonderful at the front desk, but very minimal in other areas.
It is located inside Sunshine shopping centre where most of the shops and restaurants are available and the theatre has 20 screens playing many of the Indian regional movies. Nice family and friends time assured!
Closed for over a year (gold class). Supposedly for renovations. Looks exactly the same with their overpriced menu. The gold class seats really need an update (uncomfortable) and the reclining features are poor
Went to sunshine village cinemas today and the cinema wasn't cleaned. It had popcorn on the seats and the seating was lumpy they need replacing. Also better security is required, overall very disappointing.
I am giving this 1 star rating purely based on cleanliness. Its my second time visiting this cinema and safe to say nothing has changed. Seats and floors are quite dirty, poor hygiene. Won't be returning.
For being the first time I've gone to see a movie at this cinema, the halls you walk through to your cinema location was so spacious. I went during a time where it was quiet but the experience was great.
Poor service at the Food counter . Long queues and understaffed . Several counters were open and staff were not concerned about coustomer frustrations . clealy unable to accept the feedback
very bad experience as the area was so dirty , they haven’t clean after finished the last show when we went in we checked the chairs was soo bad and smelly. will not recommending to anyone.
Not much food options. Feels a bit old. Lights distract when watching movie. Seats not comfortable for seating for longer duration. Ample parking though. Needs refurbishment in my opinion.
We are five booked tickets for Tiger 3..although the movie’s cinematography is not good no 19 max screen gave us good sitting experience and sound effects comparatively with other screens
Multiplex cinema theatre, many screens. We saw Ghoomar Hindi movie. Clean and comfortable seats. The complex is within Sunshine market plaza with attached food court and Woolworth
This is a great cinema. Lots of options for different viewing and usually a bunch of different language films. Good for the diverse community and fairly reasonably priced.
Good parking space. Seats are fine. Spacious. But why the heck 30 minutes of commercials! Went downhill for sure if this is normal now. 4:15 movie started at 4:45. Yuck
Excellent for watching movies with young kids without being worried about your kids disturbing others. Lots of activities inside for the kids to keep them busy & happy.
Experience was okay. Cinema is good with large number of screens but I guess management needs some improvements like staff appearance and communication with customers.
Dirtiest cinema ever!!! The curtains had so much dust and cobwebs and seats had popcorn and garbage on them. I can safely say there’ll be bedbugs too in those seats.
Although it's a rather ordinary environment, this HUGE complex has easy access, great parking and the staff are great. Went to Gold Class and it was very good.
Went and saw Indiana Jones new movie. The cinema has a great sound. It wasn't overly busy. The screen was clear with no issues. I highly recommend this place.
Good place. However needs to keep it more neat & clean. The chair seating arrangement needs reclining. Back becomes stiff & hurts sitting straight.
Older cinema, and looks a little run down but don't judge the cover. It's huge with 20 cinemas and you get the old styled feeling and experience.
Smelly theatres, when complained they just spray deodorant and when you visit next time it's the same smelly theatres gain. Fix the theatres guys
The cinema is amazing, we had a good time watching the amazing Maula jatt. Very friendly staff and you’ll find the seats + your hall easily too.
Place is insude crown and accessible from tram stops easily. Good number of screens and easiy booking n perks makes it go to place for cinemas
Dirtiest cinema ever. Seat covers were all black with dirt and there were popcorns all over. Only good think you can watch all Indian movies.
I always come to this cinema easily one of the best, I just got done watching avatar and it always has the best quality, 5 stars definitely
Lots of movies with lots of showtime but seat is very uncomfortable. Besides that price is reasonable and staffa are friendly.
Gold Class Session has the most comfortable seats and fine dining. There is plenty of leg room and tasty meals and desserts
Purely magical. The aesthetics take me back to my childhood - never change. Arcade is great too. Best cinema in Australia.
The seats aren't comfortable. Rest all good. The sounding system is fine. The temperature inside the theatre is perfect.
Huge parking area, very clean indoor area.. so many halls, gaming zone.. It’s one of the good cinema hall in Melbourne.
Cannot believe movie started literally after 1 hour with no heads up or any communication , super disappointing
Really enjoyed watching Salaar part 1 there. Really good and friendly environment with great crowd …
Good place to see movies. Staff was very courteous. Only problem is that the toilets are very far away.
The place needs an update, it would be nice to see the cinema upgraded like every other Village/Hoyts
Worst seats ever I could Imagine Worst Movie experience ever Couldn’t imagine worse than this.
Watched PS-2 , tamil movie here The top seats were quite dirty They could improve the hygiene
Wonderful attentive staff, knowledgeable and great service. Cinema amenities need updating.
Good range of movies, but the place definitely needs an upgrade. The seats are horrible.
The screen is a bit smaller, the sound is good, can I a bit higher for better experience
Needs a clean and pretty expensive. But still good to goto the movies every now and then
took alex here he said the toilets were nice to eat his finely shredded ham and cheese
Just the usual; very polite, helpful staff and cinemas usually always nicely clean
Very convenient, you can watch all the latest movies with your family.
Only opém just before first movie got better service in Morwell
I love the fast lane for pre purchased food and tickets …
Good atmosphere Theatre seating needs a clean up ☹️ …
Seats are standard no recliners like Hoyts rest is amazing
The number of screens this place has always amazed me.
Place was great and really nice surround sound
The kids cinema is awesome! A must do!
