For those not familiar with Ontario the LCBO has near monopoly of alcohol sales, particularly liquor and wines, while you can buy local wines at some grocery stores.. The selectioni is limited. So there is really nothing to compare in Ontario, that being said independent alcohol stores in other places around the globe seem to be more consumers friendly. The LCBO is clean neat and generally well stocked...staff at this location are not remarkable.. Positive or negative. The staff have zero incentive to provide outstanding service.. Being unionized !! Not much else to say ..except Ontario need alcohol competition...private sector independent liquor stores Over and out until the next review.

There's no delicate way to put this: the first thing to know about this LCBO site is that it's fairly close to McMaster. So on Friday and Saturday evenings, expect the place to be substantially more busy: checkouts, cold beer and vodka areas in particular. This store has a pretty nice selection: a densely-stocked vintages area, and lot of space devoted to VQA/local wines, improved "craft" beer section, even a decent selection of cold ciders. If it were twice as big, I don't think it would be twice as good, and it's already pretty good. I wish they had a little more choice in Scotches but there seems to be plenty of selection of other whiskeys, rum, gin, etc.

So they didn't have my drink at water down and it's super limited edition tried to use the app no luck with the app so I called the store and they were super duper friendly like just the nicest people so I take the 20 minute drive down there and they sat two cases aside for me which was awesome and then when I get there if they're like running around and find it for me almost immediately and then help me carry it to the car like best liquor store I've been to best staff at least and I did see them move like 200 people through the line like 10 minutes while I waited good job great management great staff

This is store has really changed. There is so much availability, much more the others in the city. So spacious now with the additional space. The walk in cold to is great. The check out line needs improvement, line up literally stands you in the cold area which is odd. Need a proper line structure to avoid being in spots where others are trying to shop. This was a Saturday afternoon at 2 pm busy enough and 3 cashiers were open.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable about the wine I was looking for. It was with the expensive wines and I couldn't find it. So after I was helped I went to the checkout where the staff kept up with the replenishing line up. There was no waiting around for the people to be served as each checkout were attentive to the customers rather than yapping amongst themselves. Very impressed

July 20, 2022. Did not carry the product I was looking for. Staff were helpful and friendly, but the bottom line was I was forced to go to another store. That simply means poor service. Government monopoly at work. Will they pay for my gas and inconvenience? Not likely. Also it is not very handicapped accessible. Regular parking right in front of the door. Disabled parking some distance away.

Good selection of wines, beers and spirits. Staff seem more helpful then most other LCBOs even drop what they are doing to look for that 1 thing you need. Even at the cash. When they ask if you found everything, then mean it, if you say no, they will find it for you. Only issue is the layout, alot of bumbing into others to get where you want to go. Not really thier fault though

Huge amount of choices and options here! The beer/coolers/ciders section is a giant walk in fridge with a large selection and everything is cold. Plenty of those special "gift" bottles to choose. The wine selection will please anyone. Plenty of parking, it's in the plaza, and hsr bus stop is super close. The people working here are nice, friendly and hardworking.

covid screen make it difficult for customer to take items out of basket. i was basically forced by the cashiers to take my items out of the basket and the covid screen is in the way and i placed my dirty basket that’s been in the floor on clean cans to empty my basket now the cans i placed my basket on are dirty and honestly you couldn’t pay me to drink ‘em lol

Updated review to 5 stars. The issue with limited selection is a thing of the past with some new and really interesting options showing up for scotch . Todd is bringing in some really interesting things. Otherwise as I said before its a nice clean store, friendly staff, just what you'd expect from an LCBO.

I found some employees to be extremely sweet and helpful (particularly the middle-aged female employee) despite the odd less-so experiences. I come here to gift sake and rice wines which are almost always sold out! Thankful for the stock nonetheless and thus, recommend. Just wish they filled up more often.

My friend was refused service for absolutely no reason. He presented is valid ID and money and he was still refused. There was no reason and no provocation. Staff can't just decide that they don't want to provide service when someone is not rude and has the money to pay. Absolutely ridiculous service.

Went to pick up some vodka for a get-together we're having soon with a few friends. Its got quite the range of brands and flavors to choose from. Aswell as during these times its pretty busy. I'm guessing with alot of people being stuck at home you need a pick me up to smoothly get though the days.

Decent selection of wines, domestic and international. Well stocked beer corner, with a variety of warm and cold ones. About 4 or 5 cashier lanes that always seem to be attended to whenever the store starts to get busy. I'd say it's an LCBO that fits the communities needs and tastes perfectly.

Social distancing seems to be going ok, it will be even safer for staff and customer if all put on a mask until pandemic is over. In the meantime, find a time that has low traffic and use hand sanitizer. The staff is very friendly to help to locate wine and ordering from other store

The Dundas location of the LCBO is my favorite. It's close to home, they have great selection and with the recent renovation there is now a beer cooler. The Vintage section always has affordable high end wines and I'm a fan of Scotch and there's a great selection of that as well.

How does this place and hours change daily Like .. different hours On a Wednesday vs a Tuesday or Thursday Worst place I’ve ever seen makes no sense and should just close down especially when I see the employees drinking at the bar 5 doors down and the. Go into work Terrible

Recently renovated store holding the same limited range of all the others. In the rest of the world people can buy beers, wines and spirits with their groceries creating more choice and cheaper prices. The tax still gets paid. Its like one step away from prohibition here.

Ordered online for the sake of convenience... not even remotely worth it or the 20 dollars for shipping. I have my usual Canada post office 5 mins from my house but instead they decided to send my parcel to an office 34 minutes away! Never again lcbo

Well stocked with most of the basics. They have a large selection of expensive/fine wines. Parking lot can be hectic as it is a "plaza" with many other stores, make sure to back into a spot for ease of exit or drive into the row parking.

This LCBO actually had a pretty solid craft beer selection from breweries all over Ontario. I even found some small pony from Ottawa which in my opinion makes the best barrel aged sours in Ontario.

Super helpful place to go to even if you're looking for cooking alcohols and not so much drinking ones. The pretty wide selection usually means you can find what you're looking for in under 10mins.

Great selection of booze at pretty good prices they usually have a great selection and depending the store they have good staff you don't have to worry about private places jacking up the price

They have been completing renovations for far too long which makes the buying experience uneasy (they have alcohol stands all over the place). The customer service reps are nice and helpful

They make you form a line in an aisle away from the registers and wait to be "waved" where to go and pay! The store was not busy. Treated customers like cattle!! Never returning …

A nice location with a wide variety of alcohol and a small Vintages section and a good-sized beer area. Staff was friendly and helpful, and wasn't too busy on a Thursday afternoon.

Great stock in the store. Much bigger than one closer to me. Staff is awesome helpful and friendly. Note, during busy times it is busy like people lining up outside kinda busy.

Very kind cashiers. Had a young tall lad. He was quite polite and good with the small talk and we had a small engaging conversations about our watch bands and football.

The University Plaza LCBO is clean and well organized. They also seem to be well stocked. They've never been out of whatever it is that I've stopped in to pick up.
