Anthony is at the counter to greet me every time I fly into San Antonio. As always he is the most helpful agent. He knows my situation each and every time and provides the best customer service for me. I continue to rent because of Anthony and National in San Antonio. Thanks much Anthony and I look forward to seeing you later today as I am traveling your way now! I am adding to this review as a result of a separate rental experience. The above still is true. During a new rental I have a confirmation that showed my reservation. When I checked in to pickup my car, the printouts I was given at the exit point did. It have the details of my rental. In essence, they were blank. When I returned my vehicle, there was a problem printing my receipt and I was in a hurry to catch my flight. When I reviewed my receipt, the amount charges was over $300 more than the quoted confirmation showed. I contacted National and they said they could not do anything about it and blamed the price change on my corporate account. I was disappointed that I was not notified by National about the price change between when I made the reservation and when I actually got the rental car. The representative on the phone did not even want to see my confirmation reservation printout which I was willing to send to make my case. I'm a loyal Reserve Select member and feel I was treated unfairly by National. I would love to see National contact me and make this right.

Y’all. Talk about above and beyond. I was unable to rent a car from my local McKinney Enterprise because the desk agent didn’t know how to resolve a very resolvable issue that was making it challenging for me to rent a vehicle (had to do with switching from a NC drivers license to TX where they issue a temporary paper license) I had to drive to San Antonio in my POV but still needed a rental for a contract I was working. Al and Summer at the Airport location jumped in and made things happen. They new exactly what needed to be done, who to involve and they where amazing to work with. I rent vehicles for weeks at a time and I’ve been with them for years. It was shocking that my local enterprise could not figure it out. But not shocking, but sometimes not appreciated as much as I should was the level of service I reciprocated from Al and Summer…I can’t thank you enough. They are what all employees should aspire to.

I picked up my car from the San Antonio airport on a Monday morning - Norman helped us pick out a car from the Emerald Isle and was quite helpful. Once we were on our way a cockroach surfaced from the center console - yikes! Things happen, I totally understand that bugs come from all over and cars are warm. An hour into our trip we killed another 4! When I reached my destination I got some Black Flag bug killer and sprayed the car - no more live roaches but a few dead ones were found. When I returned my car at Austin I let the representative know we had the "roach coach" and he did discount our bill. I have been using National since 2005 and this is a first for me. The service is great and the cars are always clean. I did advise that this car be given a good go over and perhaps another fumigation! So far no "friends" in my luggage.

My experience with National Car Rental was terrific! When I was getting my car the rep told me to pick a car that I wanted I didn’t know what to get she told me to get something that I would may like to try and buy later. I thought that was a very helpful gesture. When I returned my car to National at the San Antonio Airport and the National rep we dealt with Nicki was so nice and helpful. She asked if everyone at National treated me well during my rental experience, and I sincerely appreciated that she asked me that. I had a great experience with National Car Rental from pick-up to drop-off. The customer service is wonderful. I will always rent from National because of the reasonable prices and availability. I was even flag down to return a hat to me that was left in the car.

I recently took two trips, one to San Antonio and the other to Sacramento which required renting a car. The customer service was exceptional, particularly during my return. The agents (Melvin at San Antonio) and (Kim at Sacramento) who received the car from me were very kind and ensured I had all my stuff and reminded me to leave the keys. They made sure I was aware of how to get to the shuttles leaving for the Airport and made sure to encourage me to use National on my next trip and that they are looking forward to seeing me next time. Renting with National has always been a breeze and their customer service makes it hard to justify going to another rental car service. I recommend you try national if you haven't before

It started off rough when I arrived to and proceeded to exit with my rental. The attendant scanned my driver's license while waiting for the vehicle in front of me. That vehicle was there for a while so I went to another exit lane and the same attendant that scanned my driver's license asked for my license again and requested my credit card. I told her that my card should be on my account, being that I'm a member but she said it was policy. It seemed suspicious to me but I provided it because I was ready to go after sitting in the lane for quite some time. When I returned the vehicle, the attendant Jeff was very professional and nice . I really appreciated he service. He was very helpful as well.

WONDERFUL, PROFESSIONAL, and PERSONABLE SERVICE every step of the way. We all know with National Car Rental that all you have to do is pick a car and go through the checkout process. However, I had a few questions and the gentleman in the garage area was OVER THE TOP HELPFUL. He answered all of my questions and made a few suggestions also. I did have an unpleasant surprise when I returned the car…I failed to check the box for the additional mileage charge. The fine gentleman was kind enough to remove the charge (~$85.00). What a pleasant outcome to what was clearly an oversight on my part. THANK YOU NATIONAL! YOU’VE EARNED A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE.

I used the Emerald Aisle option which was great! It was quick and easy to use. However, there was a big discrepancy in the price when I made my reservation on the app versus what I actually paid with no clear explanation from the agent when I turned in my vehicle ($160 difference). I understand the price I'm given upon reservation is an estimate but I was expecting maybe a $30 to $50 difference, $160 is a huge difference. This is the only reason I am giving them 3 stars. ** National made a good faith effort to correct this error. A manager contacted me and made sure my bill was adjusted. Thank you for the excellent Customer Service!

This review is long overdue, but I think it's worth my time to recognize the awesome support given by the representative (Sandra) that helped me. During the 2023 Veteran Day holiday, I rented a vehicle from Priceline. When I got to the counter, the system malfunctioned and it took longer than expected; however, Sandra's professionalism and courtesy to the customer made up for it. She was the sole person working her shift during late hours and her attitude was very positive and pleasant. Even though the system crashed she made sure I had the best service. Big Kudos to her and whoever is training their workers in customer support.

Rental Location: San Antonio Airport (SAT) With the use of their app, it was probably the most easiest check out and check in processes I've ever had. I encourage anyone to rsvp and use their app when renting out. After arriving, I went straight to pick a car with key already inside, drove to the check out booth and was out in 5min. Coming back was even easier, follow the signs and you park your car in a single line with other returns as the rep did a quick visual check and sent you an receipt via email. Again this was only fast because I already did most of the work prior to the trip.

Been taking out cars from this National location in the past without problems until today. Branch manager pulled out a book where it seems the only accepted license is the one from Mexico City, as if we didn’t have several state licenses in Mexico, made me exit the car and handed it to someone else. Then told me nothing could be done as they didn’t have the system to check the validity of my Mexican License expedited in another state. Be advised if you come from Mexico these people won’t let you take out a car even if all your documents are valid. No common sense or whatsoever.

National in San Antonio would not work with me after misplacing my drivers license.... since I was only an "Executive" and only if I was an "Executive Elite" they could rent my a car. It really left me in a bad place. The 30 something "manager" abruptly said "wish you a good rest of you day" and walked away. They/he really knows how to treat a customer! I'd give him a -5 start rating. I believe I understand the issue of renting a car to someone without a driver's license, but because I had just rented a car from the same counter within the last two weeks.

No shuttle required at San Antonio Airport - just a short stroll to the car rental garage. National was easy to see and get to. When we arrived (a Thur morning), there was an OK amount of cars to select from in our Executive Aisle. We were particularly wanting an SUV, of which there were only 2 to select from (would have liked a few more options, but 2 is ok). Love that I can select cars myself, and the quick and easy checkout. Return was easy to get to, and easy to drop off. Car was in good order and clean. Would definitely rent from this National again.

Great rental experience. Booking a car was easy and there was a lot of variety to choose from at different price points. Pickup was seamless. If you have Emerald Club status, the counter bypass is great. Just walk straight into the parking lot and show them your reservation and pick out a car of the right type, and then you're on your way. Returning was just as easy. It took a quick scan to identify the car, calculate any extra costs, and automatically charge the credit card already on file. All in all, it was super straightforward and stress free.

We were treated with the nicest desk staff ever at the San Antonio airport check in desk. It had been a few years since I had used the emerald isle, so we had to go to the counter first. It was absolutely painless for the check in and also to check out once we got the car. Awesome selection of vehicles on the isle. Friends that were traveling with us were jealous because they had rented a midsize from another company, because I got a new Jeep truck for less than them. The return was as painless as the pickup, even at 3:30 am. GREAT JOB NATIONAL.

The customer service was lacking at the checking in and checking out desk, no one greeted me and had me waiting while typing at the computer and never said one moment or anything of that nature while they were finishing their work on the computer. The when it was time to take care of me, they didn’t seem to know how to change my credit card and I waited 15 minutes just for this! When I dropped off my car the representatives in the garage those reps were very nice and provided good customer service but the reps at the desks did poorly.

Even though I'm an Emerald member and I have all my information in your system I was requested to show my passport. I was questioned why my Drivers licensee has a different address (Home) than the one on file (Business). Asked me to verify my phone number on file and finally I had to provide the address where I was going to be staying.... I have rented cars in many locations across the country and this has not happened before. When I asked what was the reason for all this and the response was this comes from management.

I travel frequently and have rented with several different companies in the past. This was hands down the easiest and most pleasant experience I've had renting a car. Travelling is stressful already, but working with Abby - Manager at National Car Rental at the San Antonio International Airport - was a breath of fresh air. I have been renting cars from National Car Rental for a few years. Most of the time I pick up my car from San Antonio Int'l Airport. Every single time the process has been seamless. The employees are fast, efficient, professional, courteous, and friendly. I've yet to have an issue. There are always good choices in the Emerald Aisle and check out is fast. When I returned my car on Thursday, November 16th, I was assisted by Bianca who was terrific! I am a fan and will continue to rent from National!

Trey, at San Antonio Texas airport was humble and appreciative that we chose National, Normally staff don’t care. I had an awesome trip to visit The Joyce Meyers Conference and normally airport staff are rude and ignorant. So Thank You Trey for not ruining it for us. They have a decent selection of cars and a friendly staff, but make sure you do a walk around beforehand and document. There was a “mark” on my car and I pointed it out before I left and they said it was fine. When I returned it they made a claim for it and contacted my company and made a big deal when the mark was there beforehand and they said it was fine. I travel for work and use National EVERYWHERE, even internationally, and have never had a problem except at this location.

Rented a car on 12-27-22 in the early afternoon, It was very crowed with multiple people waiting for cars due to all the flight cancellations. The gentleman working was outstanding. He was patient and efficient working quickly to get everyone a car as fast as possible. He was respectful to all the customers, It was a stressful situation for all and he was outstanding. I'm sorry I don't know his name. Bianca was also outstanding when I returned the car. National your the best!

Almost a 5 star experience! Though I am an Emerald Club I needed a larger vehicle due to a larger travel party. The agent at the lot was very helpful in making sure that we knew where to get the correct sized vehicle. The checkout guy was a slow and seemed to be more interested in something on his cell phone than getting us on our way (a bit frustrating). Returning the car was a little slow but the two agents working appeared to be doing the best that they could.

The staff were very friendly and efficient. I was in and out quickly as an Emerald Club member. I do a lot of traveling for work and appreciated their efficiency in getting me on the road quickly. The vehicle I got was very clean and fresh. They even provided a complimentary connectivity kit in the car. That was greatly appreciated as I had forgotten my own trying to catch my flight. Overall, I was very satisfied with the service, efficiency and car.

The person that received the car was outstanding ! Great unfortunately the people that were at the counter in San Antonio international airport were not helpful at all. I had 5 days( 46$)of free rental and extended 2 days the bill went up to close to 200 I just wanted the person in the counter to explain the bill so I could understand but he just said that’s the way it came out. I was the only person there so they were not busy.

I travel quite a bit as an Internal Auditor. I have been using National for over 10 years and they are amazing. Had some work to get done on my personal vehicle and rented from National. Smooth pick up and great, well maintained vehicle. Ashley at the San Antonio International Airport Rental Car return was awesome and got the rental checked back in and got me on my way very quickly. This location is amazing! Whenever I come here, the employees are always friendly, kind, and ready to assist. Melvin, who works on the vehicle level, always remembers me whenever I visit. They always provide a text number for emergencies, which is much more convenient than going through the corporate phone number. Great experience so far. Set a record for new automobile at 8 miles on odometer. Truck was clean, new and pretty much untouched winning the covid friendly and customer service award compared to all other rentals I had in the past. There were no autos available when I arrived Wednesday. but the new F150 XLT really made up for it. Thanks to all involved in getting this done. I now fit in Texas driving a Big Truck.

We exited the terminal like deer in headlights and he quickly pointed us in the right direction while giving us a rundown of the choices he had with our preferences. The car has been great! I have never rented a vehicle with over 50,000 miles so their inventory is rotated fairly frequently which is nice as well. So easy both renting and returning!!! Though I manage a company travel program, I seldom rent cars for myself. I was anxious to understand the experience our company travelers have. It was great. We arrived both late to the airport and departed early before the desk opened. Both were so simple. This is why we prefer National for our business travelers.

Great staff and customer service but TERRIBLE collection of fleet of vehicles in all categories. The Emerald Aisle all were trash and poor quality vehicles but highly overpriced. I have not experienced this at any other International Airports. I'm just glad I had to go from Point A to Point B and not actually have time to site see and etc.

Tianna checked us back in San Antonio Airport. Although busy on a Thanksgiving weekend, check in was quickly and made sure that our rental was smooth and without a glitch. I love picking our on the Emerald Isle. This trip we took a Ford F150 to see how we like the truck and were surprised at how much room they had inside.

There is a rare occasion that the lot is empty when you arrive (that is not just a National thing) but never had to wait more than 20min for them to get me a vehicle when that happens.

Easy to book online. Membership to the Emerald Club allows you to go right to the cars in the Emerald section and grab one and go. That was important especially since our plan landed at 1AM and most other rental car counters were closed. Ni was great at checkout...fast and easy!!!!

Great location and fast car pick up process. They have plenty of staff there if you have no idea how the selfpick process works. Vehicle is clean. Returning is easy. The staff is so friendly. They will walk around with you and give you final receipt upon return. No hassle at all.

Great rental experience. Pickup and return very efficient. One flaw was that I requested an SUV assuming it would be all-wheel or four wheel drive since I was headed to a rugged national park. What I was given however was not either one. This limited some areas of visitation.

Emerald aisle had good selection of cars. The attendant on the lot was super helpful. The checkout booth went super fast. The last thing anyone wants after a long flight is to be stuck at the airport any longer than they have to. This was such a smooth and quick process.

The car return at the San Antonio airport was excellent. Two gentlemen, Jeff and Melvin, were very helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond to help remove our luggage and return an item that we left in the car. The manager on duty was also quite helpful.

Flight was very late so arrived at rental at 12:45 AM but the gentleman with the cars was alert and friendly and let me pick any vehicle in aisle. I picked a bright red F150 which was very nice! Super friendly and helpful when I returned it.

Using the Emerald Isle is the easiest way to rent a car. Skip the booth and just pick a car with the keys in it and go. I only use National/ Enterprise as they are the same company and have a no nonsense rate for business travelers.

Car was great service was better. From checkout to return. The guy who checked my car in. I believe his name was Jeff.. was awesome.. got me in and out quickly so I could catch my flight.. definitely recommend national

Rental from the San Antonio Airport. Quick and seamless from my baggage pickup. They actually upgraded me from midsized to full at no additional cost based on the available vehicles. Drop off was easy, even before 4am.
