I will never use this company again. They took my money and ran. 2 weeks later and I still never got an email or phone call regarding my case after being told somone would contact me. I had plenty of money on my card until they ran it TWICE! First, when I made the initial reservation and again when I showed up. They said I needed a $200 deposit. Thats fair. So I gave them my spare credit card which has about $300. It's just a deposit, right? He tries running the FULL AMOUNT AGAIN PLUS the DEPOSIT! I told the guy they already ran my card for the rental and this should just be for the deposit according to what he told me. He says they have to run everything again and it all has to be on one card. I don't recall that in their policy. So, I now have to roll more money into my credit card account because they don't take debit cards at all BUT now I couldn't because they were still holding my money from earlier. My credit card would not allow me to transfer anymore money in because my earlier transaction was still pending and only SIXT could release it. But they would not release it. I'm belaboring this point because they kept trying to use their policy against me about having adequate funds available. Yes I did. That's the whole point of running the card when I made the initial reservation. When my card cleared just fine. The problem occurred when I showed up and they ran my card again! I don't recall that being in their policy either. You are holding my money and now you want to take out the same amount again PLUS the $200 deposit? I have never had this happen before. They say have to speak to Expedia and Expedia says I have to talk to SIXT. I just want my money back. I understand if they had to keep one days worth but all of it? Come one. Be reasonable.

Absolutely NOT. I had a GREAT first experience here, to the point that I didn't hesitate to rent again. However, on the 2nd rental on July 19 I received a car with pretty significant, albeit minor damage (scratches, scuffs, dings - and notably, hail damage). Not a big deal, I did the automated pre-rental walkthrough and saw that most everything on the car was noted - except for the hail damage. It's not uncommon for rental car companies to track that differently. I had the car for 5 hours on a completely clear and hot summer day (not even a remote chance for rain). No one was available for walkthroughs at pickup or dropoff, and we had to catch our flight. Later that weekend, I get notice that I am being charged for the hail damage (which was physically impossible). I've disputed through their pre-established channels, and still got billed. Now I am trying to reach someone - ANYONE - on the phone to discuss and no one will answer - and when they have, I've been disconnected. It's obvious they were just waiting for someone to tag some previous damage on to to get it covered. Shady at best - STAY AWAY!!! 8/15 Follow up: As expected, Sixt responds to the very public comment as though they intend to remedy the situation. I have emailed the address below (again), and again it goes unanswered. I highly recommend choosing another company when renting in San Antonio, and anywhere else Sixt might have a presence. 8/16 Final Follow up: While I won't change my rating due to conflict resolution, as it absolutely should not have happened to begin with, I will say they did finally drop the damage charges (although they refuse to admit their wrongdoing). Still not sure I'd use them due to that, but the resolution deserved to be posted.

BEWARE OF BAD POLICY, BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, STAY AWAY! I reserved a van 2 weeks in advance for a trip to Colorado. When I went to pick it up the desk agent told me I couldn't take it to Colorado, it was against their policy. It was not stated anywhere when I made reservation. I asked the agent to see the policy in writing, he couldn't produce it and asked me to check the website. I checked the website, and Colorado was listed as one of the states I can take their vehicle when rented in Texas, after I showed this to the agent, he said they have their own policy and I can't take it to Colorado. I called Sixt customer service and they saw the same thing I did and said I could take it to Colorado. Customer Service called the San Antonio Airport location and apparently the branch manager there can make their own policy and said no I can't their vehicle to Colorado. I had to cancel the reservation and rent a van from another company at the last minute because the branch manager can make up their own policy, and will not follow what's on the company website. I will never do business with this company again.

Should be Six Stars! This was my first time using Sixt Rent a Car.Both Ashelie and Issabelle were awesome to deal with my first rental process. I was at George Bush intercontintal Airport when after 5 hours of waiting for an "unscheduled maintenance issue within the aircraft" my connecting flight was canceled. I needed to get back to the San Antonio area on a Friday night. All the rental car companies I called or met with at the airport were out of cars. One suggested SIXT. To my delight Ashelie greeted me and said she indeed had cars available. She was professional, cordial and turned my disasterous day into a win. Issabelle was helpful as well. She helped me at the end of the process and was awesome as well. The next day I returned the car to the San Antonio location. Dillon, in San Antonio was extremely helpful and knowledgeable during the return process. I will be using and recommending SIXT to anyone needing a Car Rental. I rent several cars a year and this company was amazing through the whole process. New fan.

I had an Excellent car rental experience at the Sixt Car Rental Agency at the San Antonio International Airport. I arrived in town without a reservation. It was the upcoming weekend for Memorial Day, and there were many graduations happening that week as well. There were no cars available that day at any of the car rental agencies. But the Sixt Representative said they should have some cars returned within 24 hours and asked if I could wait until the next day. This was a leisure trip so that was no problem. He provided me a business card. I called the cell number on the business card and was connected directly with the General Manager of the location, Mr. Alexander Gentsch. He was terrific. He helped find a vehicle for me, provided me an outstanding rental rate, and upgraded me from a compact to a full size SUV at not extra charge. Alex Gentsch and his team at the San Antonio Airport are outstanding! Sixt Car Rental Agency will be my first choice as I rent cars in the future. Thank you, Ed

My recent experience renting our first car from this company which was a BMW, was nothing short of a nightmare. Not only did the vehicle have glaring electrical issues, like malfunctioning lights and a faulty radio, but the customer service was equally horrendous. When I reported the problems, the staff was dismissive and unhelpful, showing a complete lack of concern for my safety and comfort. It took multiple calls and visits to the rental office to even get a response, and when they finally did address the issues, they did so with an attitude of annoyance. We then were told to bring the vehicle back for a new one. We got a Cadillac that already had dings and marks from the previous driver. We turned the car back in and they tried to blame us for what happened to the car. I expected a smooth and pleasant rental experience, but instead, I got a malfunctioning cars and a taste of the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I don't know if a scapegoat was needed, but not us.

I was having an extremely frustrating day... my car was in the shop getting repairs, they told me it would take a day or 2 for the repairs to be done ...I decided to hitch a ride to and from work for those 2days.. now day 3 my car is ready for pickup.. only to find out that it's still not fixed.. now I need a rental like Fast.. i go online book with Fox only to get there to have them tell me they're not doing same day reservations...alamo, national, enterprise, no one has cars....I see Sixt hiding off in the corner, what are the chances of them not having a car for me also right? Here I am greeted by a young man named KEYON..Keyon not only listened to my rant about my day but he told me he had a car for me.... my day instantly got better.... This young man was very professional, courteous and made my rental experience so easy... Thank u so much Keyon and your company for helping me with transportation.... I'd give more if I could...

I used Sixt for the first time on a personal trip to San Antonio for an extended weekend. I was very hesitant after reading reviews online, but at the time I had an active rental with another major rental agency I was using for work, so I decided to try Sixt. I was surprised with how fast the check in process was everything was completed ahead of time and I picked up the car which had been upgraded. staff was friendly and helpful and answered the questions I had. I had no issues with the car or the location. My issues came after the rental had been completed I never received the security deposit. I contacted Sixt customer support and they were very unhelpful they did not see the hold that had been placed on my card and insisted the hold had been released, after several weeks of back and forth with my credit card company and Sixt I have made no progress. Sixt is telling me it can be another 3 weeks until I receive my money and for that I deducted two stars

Used to be a great company…Vehicle I had engine speed reduced on me and had it took me 5hrs to get the vehicle back to the location. Because it was so late Noah stayed behind which I appreciated and I was exchanged for an another vehicle however about a month and half later I got an emails from claims saying I damaged the vehicle which I never hit anything while in my possession. I asked for proof and they refuse to send me pictures instead they keep sending me a bill. No walk through was done with an agent getting the vehicle nor returning it. I refuse to pay for something that I know I didn’t do nor happened in my possession. Please make sure you do a walk through before leaving and when you return I don’t care how tired you are make sure because they will say it was you and you won’t have any proof. I’m definitely done with them now and will be getting an attorney involved before I pay them for something I know never happened while I was in use of it

I usually do not write reviews, but I just have to on this one. This was my first experience renting with Sixt at San Antonio Airport and it was a great one! Staff was very nice, down to earth, very professional and passionate about his/ their job! He was there waiting on us and welcomed us with awesome customer service! The process was easy and the email that was sent prior to pick up explained everything that was needed and the directions of there location. The price were great as well. From Atlanta Airport all the way to San Antonio Airport, I was anxious just about the whole time, because it was my first time ever on a plane and at an Airport, but once I got there and saw how friendly and welcoming Sixt staff were, I was at ease and was very excited . Thank you Sixt for helping my first time experience become one of my best ones! I will definitely rent again, if needed and will recommend to family and friends!

I am only leaving four stars because I tried to call and speak to someone because my flight was delayed three hours and I was trying to see what there hours were. It was impossible to get a hold of anybody. I did email one of the corporate representatives and by the time she responded I had already picked up the car. We arrived at 11:48pm at the airport but I reached the SIXT counter at 12:04am and they were already gone. Enterprise was still open with customers. I was by myself so I really wanted to pick up the car. I had to Uber to my hotel then Uber back to the airport at 6:30am in the morning to pick up the car, luckily they still held the reservation. Upon arrival, Mrs. Nancy was so lovely and helpful. She quickly explained to me the process and got me into the BMW I had reserved. Bernard was also really helpful and so was the gentleman who was there for when I returned the car.

Yesterday I rented a BMW X3, a nice car and I gave a review about the great customer service I received at the rental car counter. Today, that vehicle, broke down while driving on I-10. I managed to get the car to a safe location and called roadside assistance. The agent on the phone was incredibly rude. So much so, that I was close to just canceling my rental and going with a different company. Customers spend their money with a company with the expectation that they will be treated like paying customers. Anything less is unacceptable. If anything the agent should have been accommodating being that their vehicle breakdown which is not the fault of the customer, their paying customer is now inconvenienced and this breakdown caused me to miss taking my son to an appointment. It’s sad. I’m currently sitting and waiting on another car. I was told it would be between 1.5 and 2 hours.

Bumpy start at the beginning of the rental. Scheduled to get a BMW 5 series. We were notified they didn’t have the car and when we went to pick it up they did. So that was good. Also there was a mistake and they overcharged for insurance and taxes. Which I couldn’t cross check at pickup. I realized after it was over charged. When I went back to drop the car off I was expecting a hassle for asking for a refund for the over charge. I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY THE MOST AMAZING GENERAL MANAGER WHO HAPPENED TO BE AT THE DESK WHEN WE ARRIVED. Alexander Gentsch was amazing. He listened to our concerns and got everything resolved on the SPOT! It was an amazing experience and one that will make me a customer for life where SIXT rental cars are available. Everything went without a hitch, the car was in great condition, and there were no problems at all. The one thing about pick-up that I don't like is how the customer service representative just hands you the key and directs you to the lane where the car is parked. Before driving it off, I had to literally check the car for any past damage and take a picture of it. The rear car had stains, empty water bottles, and thrashes in the cup holder. Agent and customer should inspect together. When I filled up the car on our way to Florida, I discovered that the rope holding the gas cap on was broken. However, I kindly asked the customer service representative to walk through with me on drop-off, and he agreed. Other than that, there were no problems at all; it was a terrific experience. will conduct business with them once more.

Beware!!!! Beware!!! Beware!!! SIXT will try to scam you. They do not do a walk around with you to document existing damage on car- they do not offer you a diagram to document existing damage on car- when you return the car no one will meet you - but you will end up getting a bill for what they call damage that was there at the time of rental. I am an active traveler- for business and pleasure and the only times I have had trouble with car rental companies is when I do not go with the big companies- STAY AWAY FROM SIXT and STAY AWAY FROM FOX. SIXT is trying to charge me $1700 for existing damage- which based on pictures could have been done in their garage- I am shocked and disgusted that they are trying to scam me.

Eric and the gentleman working the booth on the 5th floor went above and beyond with customer service. Having traveled internationally 23+ hours, Eric was understanding and helped me adjust my booking for a vehicle with GPS capabilities after my cell service failed to work. He didn’t rush through the process and understood that I was multi-tasking for resolution with the cell phone company while pulling my reservation. When I finally made it up to the vehicle, the tire pressure was low and the gentleman working the booth quickly switched out the cars. This is what customer service looks like- positive attitudes & working to help customers. Job well done!!!

We thought we were getting a deal with this classy BMW, unfortunately we got a flat on the 2nd day of rental, slow leak that's obviously Bern an issue for sometime. I'd guess that explains the fix it flat empty can in the trunk. The tires were so bald, no threading on front tires. We had to return car and then got charged more for an SUV eventhough that's what they offered us, didn't mention any increase in price. Let me not forget to mention 20 mins after driving the SUV, the matienece light went on. We were billed incorrectly and had to ask for a manager several times. Overall experience, I'd honestly never rent from Sixt again. Very disappointed.

So I made reservetions in advance via priceline with Fox, getting to the counter upon my arrival, i was told that i could not have the car because i was using debit card. Thankfully i was advised that Sixt would take my card. I can not say enough regarding the wonderful young lady THE who went above and beyond to get me a car and even i was a little resersed d/t the last minute price which was high and she tried to check with a another compony but there was none. I would use SIXT any other time i would need a rental car. It was clear no cigarette smell or any other annoying odors. Thanks SIXT.

First NO waiting and no lines. Shanita was great, the BEST! Her and Nancy both helped us a great deal. I originally booked the BMW X3, on Shanita's recommendation upgraded to the X5. BEST DECISION EVER! Not only did they hook us up w/the car, they told us about the COMFORT CAFE. If you're in San Antonio you gotta eat there. The customer service was EXCELLENT! Pick up and drop off easy. They checked on us to make sure everything was good the next day. I never experienced warmth, professionalism, and genuine concern like this at any other car rental place. SIXT has a new life customer.

NO WAY TO SPEAK DIRECTLY TO A BRANCH! I so wanted to give them a positive review as they had run out of vehicles that I reserved and they upgraded me; however, I left something VERY important in my vehicle. I placed a lost item ticket on their website and days have gone by, I left messages, I reach a call center where they are unable to help or if they transfer me all I do is leave voicemails. The ability to follow-up with HORRIBLE. I think this car rental service can do better. It is NOT that difficult to simply call the branch and determine if the item is in the vehicle or NOT.

Pros: check in counter was courteous and ensured my return time was correct and I wouldn’t be charged an extra day. Got a BMW X3 with a compact reservation. Smooth process Cons: BMW X3 already had scratches and a missing exhaust cap. I returned my vehicle before the documented return time. The attendant said I would receive a confirmation email 10-15 mins later. I received it the next day and the return time was hours later so I was charged an extra day. I called customer support and they changed the invoice but my credit card was still charged the same amount as before

I’m 68 yrs old and have been renting cars since I was 22. Point is I have rented a lot of cars with slot of companies. But after my experience with Nancy Leah, I will always choose SIXT. WHY would I say this when usually we’re looking for the best deal. I say this because what’s really important is customer service. I was so impressed that after I left her station I came back to thank her for her outstanding service. But the outstanding service didn’t end with her. It continued with the person who I gave my ID to, and the young man who brought the car to me.

Eric did an amazing job checking me in at the front desk. He was able to upgrade my compact car to a XT5 Cadillac! I sure did enjoy driving that sucker for the next three weeks. My government travel card had issues but he kept his composure and knew how to tackle that issue. At arrival of my car pickup, I noticed the front tire was low on air, and one young man helped refill the tire. I returned the car with no issues. Never rented here before but I know who to rent from whenever I come to San Antonio again! Very military friendly I would say.

THE Sirvelle is why there’s a fifth star on Google. He went above and beyond to help a guy just trying to get to my son’s graduation. I had some issues with another rental company and Sirvelle stepped in and showed them what real customer service is. What was great was I witnessed him treating every customer he helped with the same enthusiasm and respect before he even got to me and my situation. Dear SIXT, hiring this guy was the best decision you’ve made so far and giving him a raise and a promotion will the next best decision you make.

This was my first time using SIXT for a rental. I was a little skeptical at first because it wasn't one of the big brands. Man was I surprised. The staff was amazing. Shanita B. was my service agent and was extremely polite and the epitome of what customer service should be. They had run out of compact vehicles so upgraded me at no cost. The process was quick and simple. If you are one of those people who are hesitant because you haven't heard of them before I promise you its well worth it. I will be using them again for future rentals.

I would love to change this to a 5. But I can't until someone reaches out to me about an over charge that happened.. This was with the Mgr. Noah at the San Antonio Airport location.. I was told he'd cancel my previous reservation and he'd write me up a new one for half the cost.. I enjoyed the car and the rest of my experience with your agency. Please follow up with me. Had agreed to a Camry rental but received a Nissan Sentra. Didn't care for the lack of legroom and ease of entering or exiting. 1st vehicle had a severely cracked windshield. 2nd vehicle had several scratches and dings. When taken, vehicle #2 had low tire pressure indicator warning. Attendant was nice and did take care of the problems, but definitely check for car over for any problems before accepting or leaving grounds.

At busy holiday night it was only one representative there and took a while to checkout. I didn't like that I had manually put my name and address in the small pad, hmmm, not sure why manually.?. It should be on computer then. After checking in main lobby going to the garage and another booth to get the car key. So another line to wait... little bit annoying. But car was great, trip was awesome.

Feels weird giving a car rental place a 5 Star review, but this SixT location certainly deserves it. No lines at check-in counter, while many of the others at SAT airport had long lines. Nancy was incredibly helpful and efficient with the reservation. Car was clean (BMW 3 Series), smooth pick-up and drop-off in the garage. SixT will certainly be my first choice next time renting at SAT.

They deserve success and they are better and more reasonable than all the other car rental companies, trust!!!!! Noah was outstanding in assisting me to obtain my vehicle. Fantastic experience with Sixt in San Antonio. From Anthony at the counter to the team that delivered the car, I was extremely impressed. They got me in and out in less than 20 minutes unlike my last trip when it took over and hour for Alamo to check main and another hour just to get into a car. When in San Antonio, Sixt will be my rental of choice!

Horrible customer service. Went to pick up a prepaid rental and was told I would have to pay an additional $500. The only explanation given for the additional was that it was a BMW and itis company policy. This would have tripled the cost of this rental. I had heard hood things about the company, but I will not try to use them again.

First time ever hearing of SIXT, my mom rented a car for us to use because mine was wrecked and hers was in the shop. Absolute trash customer service. They charged me for fuel in a car that wasn’t full when I picked it up and blamed me for not pointing it out when I left. They also said that this photo doesn’t prove that it wasn’t full… I was warned that Sixt was sketchy and I know now to use any other rental companies.

We arrived and struggled to get our prepaid vehicle at Avis due to their on site credit check… Shanita at Sixt was able to get us a vehicle and car seats for my boys so quickly. She was so sweet and understanding as I was crying to get my kids on the road after a long day of travel! Thank you Shanita!

I Returned the rental vehicle at 0400 2 hours before my flight at 6 am. I was charged 85 dollars, saying I returned my vehicle at 0730. How tf did i return the rental at 0730 when my BOARDING was AT 0600.. what a scam! Never will i rent a vehicle with this company!

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! They do not have sufficient smaller sized cars. Unlike virtually every other agency that upgrades for free when they run out of vehicles, Sixt charges you for the upgrade. I was stranded at the airport because of this. They are a scam.
