Exceptionally easy process, very friendly and knowledgable staff at the King Shaka office. It was pain free to get the car. ONCE we had the car, a totally different story!!! They wanted me to take the car for a monthly inspection, I had the car for three months, when I got it, it didn't have number plates, they told me that they would have them in a week and call me, no call received. When I went back a month later for the inspection, they did not have the plates and put a new paper sign on for another car. Same thing happened the following month. They put me on direct debit, my contract ran from the 7th to the 6th of every month, when they took the direct debit, they took it on the 1st. They never reimbursed me for the 5 days extra I had paid. They took the car back even though they owe me money. Now I have had a call from a legal department saying I owe them R1600!! I think not! They are crooks and thieves and I would not recomend working with them. The person who does the inspections also told me that if there is so much as a small scratch on the car, they will take it back from you and demand that you pay the fee to get it fixed.

After all of this i get emails that are advertising why buy cars at a R3000 deposit I ask myself was this a way of getting rid of me or what.. I still demand explanation as to why the car was strategically taken away from me.

But when it's time for me to make a payment and the inspection you get called and whatsapp message. So I have paid for something that is standing and I don't use. The car had 22 km when I got it. It's now on 12000 km when it broke down and they have the car from Wednesday last and the same old storie applies again we will phone you tomorrow with a report on what's going on, Thursday came and no phone call , Thursday mid day spoke to customer care we will phone you with an update, friday comes and goes no phone call. It's monday and I had to phone once again. Awaiting feed back. Mr.Ginesh: because of the low milage they have to investigate the reason it broke down it had to go too toyota to get a report, all good I have nothing to hide.

If I had written this review in January there would have been no stars! Problems from the start, first, advertised without deposit then told to pay 5k. Went to the office paid 11k and was then handed the keys to a brand new Etios, which made up for any current I'll feelings. Then the monthly inspections came, not on agreed contractual dates which caused payment issues, then debit orders then no debit orders, over milage charges and no less that 2hrs in the branch every month. My anxiety levels were through the roof and then Dinesh got involved. What a breath of fresh air. Everytime I went off in a panic he calmed me down, when I went in for surgery he was empathetic and understood the situation. Finally someone who didnt see me as a number. Communication skills and customer service in branch needs to be worked on (I'd be happy to help ;-)) but value for money, great cars and overall a fair company to deal with. Thank you!

Car Rental Raw Deal. A beautiful fig, full of maggots. The car looks neat and decent, but the model is dated and hard to handle; though you won't know that until the car is handed to you. It feels as though you’re driving a second hand car, where the seller didn’t tell you of the car’s problem. Left to figure it out as you drive. Battery of the car dies less than 12 hours of collection. Rude Consultants over the phone when reporting the issues. Which implies that you can be left in the middle of nowhere with an unreliable vehicle and unreliable rental company. There’s company branding stickers on the driver’s side of the windscreen, which should not even be legal. The driver should have a clear view, with little to no blindspots/obstructions upfront. You’re better off with the other official dealers; though pricy, at least you know you’re safe. Cool Concept though.

I've used Avis' monthly lease and wanted to give another service provider a try. The website cancelled the previous applications which was a pain. But it eventually got sorted. Btw, the Avis mini lease requires no proof of income or any docs on website booking. However, I understand the credit industry and safeguarding of one's assets. Anyways, I came to collect the car and I wasn't loaded, then there was a system billing issue. Took about 30 mins to actually get the keys. Avis takes about 15 mins, especially if booking more than 3 months. All in all, it was a slow process, perhaps you need an analyst to help streamline it. Your staff were helpful throughout though.

Had the best experience. While I was still busy filling in the application form the agent phone me and said I can send the rest of the docs via Whatsapp. This was great so I could send copy docs via my phone etc. That was quick and awesome service. The friendly and very professional staff then sorted my application very quickly, 2 hours maybe to tell me that my application was approved. I went to the pick up location and they had all my details ready. I signed a few forms and done. I was given a brand new Toyota Etios Sprint. No hidden costs . WBC - what you see is what you get. And yes I would recommend WBC to everyone. Thanks to Why Buy Cars and Woodford.

I took out a lease from Whybuycars and returned the vehicle on the 29th of May 2022 I was informed that my Deposit would be returned within five to seven working days this morning I called the office to be told that it is actually 14 working days. I was told to speak to Dinesh and called his cellphone number a few times it just rings and then it goes to voicemail. No man guys you received your money and your car is returned surely it is not such a difficult job to return my deposit. I will see by the close of business today if I received my deposit and then post again. I sincerely hope you get back to me.

I was involved in a car accident with a WhyBuyCars vehicle. None of the WBC team on call answered their phones and I was left stranded and had to organise getting the car back to them by myself. After this, I had to wade through their clueless call centre agent’s too and fro to beg them to submit an accident report, case nr and ASK them for the liability cover I needed to pay. Once I paid liability - and wanted to get a new vehicle, nobody seemed to know how to make this happen! What a bunch of amateurs. Stay away if you want professional and reliable car rental service.

Customer service was terrible, not all details were explained before I paid.There were surprising additional amounts paid and the R500.00 waver insurance was added on the instalment to be paid monthly. While on the website it is stated that it is included in the instalment. So I have to pay 500 extra monthly now, consultant handling my query was unprofessional, please improve customer service and answer phone when calling!

My experience at the company put customer service at another level. Thabile the consultant was excellent both in honesty and courtesy which reflected positively on the company. All what was promised in the advert was kept. New car, no deposit and no credit checks yoh what a deal. You better increase your fleet we gonna be unpaid marketers for this company.

I had the worst experience at why buy cars. 1. Came there at the day I was supposed to take back my first lease and was told to pay for 3 days exta 2. Extra charges with are on the new lease that is not on the quote that I received from the website. 3. The wrong car was booked. I don't think I will go back for another lease after this one.

I just collected a car and before I did so the service was very good. After receiving the contract and getting the car there's no more communication. It really sucks as I am sure this does not reflect the owners great intention for starting the business but that of people who are employed to help with the service.

Do not use these guys!! Not only did they charge me R1444 in etolls for trips I never took, but they charged me R600 excess waver per month AND still kept my deposit because of a scratch on the rear bumper! Do not use these guys! They are snakes!!!

Post contract extremely poor communication. It has been three weeks and I have not received my refund for my deposit. After two weeks and three follow ups they did not even issue a statement. I had to call them continuously. No promises kept.
