Unfortunately over the years the customer service and the ACTUAL fixing of vehicles has become so bad to the point where I will probably NEVER in my life be bringing my vehicle back to these establishments, also all the old mechanics who worked there have either retired or gone some place else and I really don’t know how qualified these new mechanics are and here’s why, I brought my 2014 Audi A6 into Salim’s auto shop because my horn and interior lights were not working even after I had changed the fuse also the TPMS light had come on, so after the intake of my car into the garage I left the shop about 2 hours into waiting and took an Uber home because the mechanics had no idea what was causing the issue and I didn’t want to take my vehicle home until both issues were resolved. So after another 2 hours had passed I decided to call Salim’s auto shop to get an update my vehicles progress and at that time I was informed that my vehicle was moved to Amin’s @ Salim’s on Eastern Ave WITHOUT my consent which was shocking, I then contacted Amin’s @ Salim’s and spoke Amin the owner himself who informed me that there’s a electric problem with my car and he had to remove the dash board to fix the horn and the interior lights, he also stated that when he put the dash board back together he notice something started to smoke inside the dashboard and had to take it apart again because the car almost caught on fire which was why he was still working on the vehicle. I simply told Amin that I would pick the vehicle the next day because they hadn’t even started on TPMS light issue and Amin said that would be fine. So the next day when I go to pick up my vehicle after receiving a call from the shop notifying me that the vehicle was ready and everything had been fixed. Upon arriving at the shop Amin, the owner told me that the TPMS light was still on and he only fixed the horn and interior lights which was confusing because he had kept my vehicle for over 24 hours at this point and he hadn’t completed all the work I had requested to be done to my vehicle, frustrated yet happy to finally get my car back I paid the $285/cash and received my car key. When I entered my vehicle I immediately notice the cars media screen was completely not working and I went into the shop to ask them what they did to the screen because it was working just fine when I brought it in. Amin informed me that when he received the car from his fathers shop the screen was not working and doesn’t know if the screen was ever working but Amin did say to bring in the vehicle on Friday and he’ll have a look at it . Friday was 3 days away when the issue should have been fixed right away because THEY caused it but out of respect for all the years of good service his father provided I agreed. When Friday Came I took my vehicle back Amins @ Salim’s at 830AM and the one of the mechanics opening the shop told me I would have wait until Amin shows up which would be about half hour. Finally after waiting a one hour and a half in poorly heated waiting room on the coldest day I’ve ever witnessed in my 26 years of being alive, I even contemplated leaving and coming another day because my toes started to freeze Amin the owner shows up and says to me that he can’t work on my car because he has about “20 cars waiting” but customers who showed up after me were getting work done on their vehicles he told me I should make an appointment and come back next week. I tried to reason with Amin and explain to him that this isn’t ethical for you to move on to other cars when you haven’t even repaired my vehicle completely. He then stated again the vehicle was brought into his shop in that condition but wasn’t the case at all and upon inspection the screen seemed to be damaged along with trim of them vehicle. These guys should just stick to fixing older 90s models because they definitely aren’t capable of repairing the newer models. My problem still exists and now I’m paying out of my own pocket taking it to independent auto tuning in Scarborough. It’s something I should’ve done in the first place

Worst mechanic ever i experienced!! I have 2014 passat tdi had a problem with coolant leaks my first mechanic told me that my car water pump leaks and need new water pump and timing belt, but I just thought I should a have a 2nd opinion. Called these people they told me to walk-in after 2.5 hours wait they bring my car inn check out and said there is one clump is lose so we need to fix that only, and you will be fine, I explained to him that I already visited other workshop, and they said it needs water pump and timing belt, but he kept saying if you like I can change water pump and timing belt, but your car doesn't need, so I got convinced made an appointment for next day for 10am. i reached there on time. After waiting for almost 3 hours to get my car in to fix a clump after working 30 minutes , I paid about $200. I'm ready to leave, just checking my car. If any leaks but one of the employee who takes the keys sitting on front desk very rude personality forced me to leave the driveway, so I checked my car again in the parking lot the problem was not solved coolant was still leaking went back asked them, and they said you put coolant leaks stop that's why leaks not stop, so you should get rid of the car asap before you get in to other problems. They wasted my 3 days back and forth, my money. So I brought my car to (peter's vw service mechanic in north York) who gave me quotation for water pump and timing belt they fix my car and till now no leaks and car have no issues at all, so please don't waste your time and money.I will never recommend to anyone.

After much searching on the internet I found the car I wanted and it so happens Amin had it and he was including safety & 24k km powertrain warranty & clean carfax. Trip to get the car would take 3hrs as I dont live near Toronto. I only had 1 spare day with which to travel and it was a Saturday, Amin is usually not open but accommodated my request. Had the car ready to go when I arrived. He was straight up and honest with problem areas that came with cars age. After a week I noticed a CEL come on, I contacted Amin and what he did next astonished me. He offered to come collect the car, provide a replacement, fix the issue and return it to me. He did so in record time given the distance required. To put this in perspective, we've also got a lease thing from a major dealer that I organized to have collected from wife's work and serviced. Dealer is in town and so is her work, 3km between them. They forgot about us and never collected the car. I had to call them back and book it in again. When I raised the question of previous appointment they said I dont know what happened. I've still not heard what happened. The sad part of this is I'm not likely to need to buy a car from Amin again as the one he sold me was exactly what I wanted but I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a used Volkswagen. I didn't plan to leave a review until my car had an engine malfunctioning light on a few days ago which happened after my spending $1,700 to fix my water pump and a regular service at Amin's place about three months ago. This review is not a complaint about how much they charged me for doing what they were supposed to do. However it turns out my latest engine problem is caused by a disconnection of air pipe which was not properly secured at all. My new mechanic showed me the disconnection and felt bizarre about why this happened then I told him about my latest replacement of water pump at Amin's and we both believe that the problem was a result of their sloppy work. Then I recalled that how chaotic I felt when I was at their shop that day. It seemed there is no dedicated mechanic working on my car but everyone passed by it could do a little something to it so that I didn't even know who to talk to about my car. And they obviously didn't do a good job after charging me with that amount of money.That was my first time visiting their shop and definitely my last time too.

I had the same experience as Luda, 3 years ago. My previous mechanic convinced me that my 2010 BMW X3 was a lemon, and I should dump it. He regularly charged me hundreds of dollars in repairs. The last straw was when he told me I needed an expensive new part for $4,500! In desperation I went to Amin (at my neighbour's recommendation). Turns out I did NOT need a new part at all, and Amin fixed the problem and charged me less than $100. Turns out my car was in great shape and definitely not a lemon. That was over 3 years ago and I am still driving the car and have had almost nothing wrong with it in that time. Amin is incredibly honest and has enormous integrity and professionalism. It is too bad there are some dishonest mechanics out there preying upon people like me who know nothing about cars. I am extremely happy with Amin and highly recommend him to anyone who values an honest mechanic!

AMIN IS A MASTER MECHANIC! Brought in my Audi A4 when AC was blowing out 35*C last week. He figured out the issue in a minute or two after a scan and physical inspection. Replaced sensors and topped up gas as required and got it working better than new! Today I brought my car in again after a tire replacement went wrong, when my Stanley Professional Grade Wrench Set broke off on an over tightened and seized tire lug nut. They did their magic and replaced it with OEM bolts (refused to use the cheap canadian tire bolts I bought and used OEM, and didn’t charge extra for it). tldr: Amin’s workmanship is top quality, knows what he’s doing, and clearly answers questions to the point. Amin and his staff have a great personality while waiting for the work to get done.

Very, very disappointed. I called and made arrangements to come in for a software update. I showed up as instructed and the mechanic wasn't there. I was made to wait 1hr:05 min on top of my 50 minute commute to get there, and he never showed up. When I asked, several times, I was just told lies such as " 5 more minutes". I left after the terrible waste of my time and I am not planning on going back, seeing they do not value their customers and their time. Super unprofessional. I was stuck waiting in my hot car as they do not have a wait room. They are knowledgeable and have done work for me in the past, but I had dropped the car off and picked it up another day, which wasn't worthwhile in doing for a 1hr job. They've lost me as a customer.

I've bought two used cars from Amin (both were in outstanding condition considering their price/age). I've been taking my cars (VWs, Audis, Toyotas) here since 2008 when I lived in The Beaches, even now when I live over 100km away in Kitchener. As an engineer nothing gets me angrier than when someone tries to up-sell me crap I don't need, half-ass a major repair, or BS their way out of an issue. None of that has ever happened to me at Amin's. (Come to think of it, I've tried to get Amin to do more expensive work than required and on more than one occasion he's outright refused on the grounds that it wasn't needed.) Amin please build a franchise in Kitchener, the drive in is driving me nuts! :D

I own a 2005 Beetle convertible and my electric roof started glitching, would not go down completely, then would not come up! Was quoted a $6k repair job for a new roof, was told it was the hydrolics, decided it was time to sell the car. Salim’s was recommended to me by another beetle enthusiast, and they in turn send to me Amin @ Salem’s. Turns out I did not need a new roof, Amin plugged his computer into my car and turns out it was a switch glitch, which I may have to replace down the road. But for now, it works perfectly. Best part is that he DID NOT charge me. Left the boys money for coffees. This garage is a CLASS ACT! Thank you for your honesty and integrity.

I am so grateful to Amin and his wonderful team. Our bmw broke right before we were to trade it in for another car and I knew the dealership would never squeeze us in and fix it in time. I found Amin online and couldn’t have been happier. The car arrived to their shop sounding like an uncle buck car with many warnings and an engine light on and left their shop running beautifully with zero issues… all done very quickly and for a fraction of the price the dealership would have charged. Also they really tested the car driving it a lot and pushing it to make sure the problem was actually fixed. I’m just mad at myself that I didn’t discover them earlier!

One of the best mechanics I have ever been to - Amin is a really nice guy, who loves to help people - I had a 2000 Jetta and would take my car here any time I needed help, and Amin and his crew always did great work, and the prices are fair. I sold my Jetta and haven't been for a little while, but this shop is a hidden gem in the lower-east side of the city. There is a McDonald's, just North-East of the shop, so you can grab coffee while you wait. The guys in the shop a fun, and if you stick around the shop while they work you'll hear some hilarious banter. Amin's father also runs a shop nearby - great family of mechanics!

These guys are great, good communication and very easy to talk to. I asked a million questions and never felt like they were getting annoyed. They ordered parts for me and showed me the options with prices on screen before they ordered. Good transparency. While they're mostly a VW/Audi tech, they took good care of my Ford and knew their way around system diagnostics. It's a bit small, so book your times with them. Very happy, nice change from my last mechanic who was excellent but grumpy.. This place is a lot more relaxed.

It's not usually a pleasure to deal with car repairs, but I always leave this place smiling. It's a busy place but you can tell that the mechanics love their jobs as there's always a good vibe and lots of jokes. When I did some price shopping, this place was up to 75% cheaper than Midas for the same job. As a woman, I have never experienced any condescension, sexism, or shenanigans with my repairs. As long as I'm in Toronto, I'll be bringing my car here.

Amin and his crew are great - I've been taking my car here for 7 years. They've taken care of all my run-of-the-mill issues, and did some sleuthing to track down a missing washer/spacer that a previous shop forgot to replace after working on my AC - which lead to all sorts of issues until Amin got to to the bottom of it. Fair prices. Will fit you in when you're stuck. Nice guys, and don't talk down or patronize me becuase I'm a woman. Good stuff!!

I have an older Acura and every single issue I’ve had/have with my car, Amin is so honest, he wants the best for his clients cars, he doesn’t even know me but he still catered to me, helped me like I was his close friend or family and I’m so appreciative for that. Amin is the most honest and fair auto shop owner/mechanic I have ever encountered. I bought a used Volkswagen Jetta from him, and would buy another Volkswagen in a minute, mainly because I know I would have a trusted mechanic to work with. If you have an older VW, or any older vehicle really, this is the place to go. There’s a reason his shop is always busy, but it’s worth the wait. Money well spent.

I brought in my 2018 Mazda 3 to have Amin and his team investigate a squeaking noising coming from the rear tires. Dropped off the car at 10am, it was fixed and ready to go by 5:45pm. Amin and his team used quality parts to fix the problem, and completed it within a timely manner. The price to complete the fix is on par with Market Value. I would highly recommend Amin's Auto Repair.

Very honest and nice people. Got my Audi AC fixed here. Reasonable price! I hope they continue like that. They would refer you to another mechanic if they can’t fix your problem. I had one of the parts broken and there were 2 choices — replacing it and that’s costy, or fixing it but it was too difficult to be fixed so they referred to someone else who thinks he can fix it.

They have been fixing my cars for the last 12 years. Great prices always looking to save me money on repairs and being honest of the work that needs done vs the work that can wait. Perfectly average service, visited based on a recommendation and had a cooling repair completed on a BMW 328i. They repaired the easy fix they identified (expansion tank) but the system is still leaking. I would consider going back if I purchase a VW model as that seems to be their expertise.

We've been using these guys for the past two years to maintain/ service our VW Passat and they have been fantastic. Their work has been great, the prices are really reasonable and they've been totally honest, reliable and just all round great guys to work with. I can't recommend them enough.

These guys over torqued all my lugnuts ( over 250 ft lbs) and over torqued my oil drain bolt so much that it damaged the threads. Do not go here, they will make you think they've done a great job but they damage your car more than they fix it

They might know how to fix a car but are very unorganized. Even after taking appointment they make you wait in the queue for hours. And there is no waiting area but a few dirty chairs with garbage all around.
