Lots of great walks of varying lengths, comprising both woodland walks above the floodplain and walks along the river, canal and through the meadows. Lots of wildlife to spot, this really is a green oasis through the heart of the withe of the city. There are several car parks accessed off Aylestone Road to start walks from.
A great place to go for a walk or a run. Might be a bit muddy on rainy days or after one so make sure you wear a suitable shoes. Suitable for everyone and accessible from different directions. Have some areas that are perfect for picnics and gatherings. Perfect to see a lot of beautiful trees in spring time.
Plenty of space many variations of walks, light woodland, river and canal side. Very good for dogs jogging and cycling. King's Lock café open from Good Friday to the end of September only Thursdays, to Sunday 10.30 to 3.30 plus Bank Holidays. Excellent light snacks some inside seating, dogs out side seating.
It's a nice place to walk, by the canals especially. Can get super muddy and flooded though. Unfortunately the place does attract some not particularly nice individuals. We've witnessed fights, police incidents and groups with huge bongs and god knows what more frequently than not. It's a shame really More
What a beautiful place to visit make sure you bring your camera because there's so much to see. And make sure you give yourself a full day to walk around aylestone meadows Park. The locals are very nice to talk to, if you get lost on your journey I'm sure somebody will help you get back on track …
Nice place, long walks with many different routes. The river flows through the meadow and has plenty of shingle beaches for children to paddle in or the dog. Access from numourous locations around leicester, main carpark is quite big off the aylestone road.
I think this is so far the best park I've visited in Leicester. Great reserve for picnic in summer. Many great natures and big trees. I had a wonderful morning to talk in this place. All the people said "morning" to me with smile on faces;)
We had a brilliant sunny early-Spring morning walk through Aylestone Meadows. It was our first time here so Wellington boots were worn and coffee taken in a flask. The main tarmac paths were busy but away from those we had a very memorable
The meadows are a beautiful area to walk around, you can follow the river or head through the fields. You might spot rabbits or little muntjac deer! Very well kept. Parking is available at two locations. The local community have a Facebook
What an amazing adventurous place this is! Highly recommend for when there's good weather.... Some lovely benches and seating areas tucked around the place. The children's play area is quite a walk from the car parks (for the meadows) but
A great place to exercise and enjoy nature at the same time. There's also a variety of berries and plums for the person who wants to go foraging. Some people also fish here but I've not seen anyone who caught anything in all of my visits,
Really accessible country park even for wheelchair users if you are going into the nature reserve and on the viaduct. Lots of trails for a really long walk. Even better walking along the canal which leads to Fosse Park but it is a 45
Peaceful local pocket of nature in the city, loads of wildlife, diverse habits, water lands, meadows and woodlands, lovely place for a walk or just to escape the bustle of the city, local council goes in regularly to litter pick, and
Beautiful walk with so many different paths to explore. Some take you through the open meadows, some across wooden planks amongst the aquatic plant life, and some through some partially wooded areas. A relaxing and peaceful location.
I walk here with the dog at least twice a day for around 7 months and I have not got bored of it yet. You have woods, meadows, and nice little beaches for your dog to access the water if it's that way inclined. More
My favourite place to walk the dog and get my step count up. So much great wildlife to spot. Fun for kids too. There are a few places to get food; st Andrews FC, kings lock tearooms, jennos and everards. More
Great place to bring the family for a few hours. Massive amount of space for walking, riding and even having a picnic. There's Wooded and open area's as well as the famous 'Pebble Beach' which allows
Absolutely stunning nature reserve that is a pleasure to have as part of my walk to work. Well worth a visit for a lazy stroll or a family picnic.
Parking is possible. Plenty of space, beautiful environment, plenty of water. Joggers, dog walkers all over the place. Always felt safe.
