First off. The staff are friendly, helpful and lovely to deal with. The shop has a great range of all products and I've been very happy with the services offered there too. BUT, removing 2 stars for being another store that boasts that they're the cheapest around when they're quite possibly the most expensive around. Seems that everything here is about 30% more expensive. This is the same dodgy practice as EB Games. Claim you're the cheapest, be the most expensive, offer price matching to "prove" you're the cheapest, rely on people trusting the proof or not caring and buying at the full price. I would buy a lot more from this shop if I didn't have to price match everything each time I enter, and just don't agree with lying, even if it's "Just business". As a note for any pet owner buying things like beds or cages. A cage from any designated pet store will cost a fraction of the price at Big W, Kmart, Target, etc (I bought one for about $200 and found the same one in Target for about $20)

Since getting our 3month old shoodle last July, we have been going to this store for supplies and vet services almost every week. Our experience have all been pleasant since all the staff here are nice and warm and always willing to help customers. But this particular 2 star review was for the main groomer Amy. She was not nice to deal with and does not even know how to greet say hi to customers. The way he treated us on our grooming today put me off using them again in the future. We felt uneasy and uncomfortable leaving the pup with her. The way she handled the conversation was pretty much take it or leave it this is hows its done. Dont worry about what the customer wants and no need to explain and I get to decide what to do with your dog. Not going back to this place again. I heard Moorabin has nicer groomers and looks after your pet better than here.

I went in today to adopt a cat at around 5.15 pm since I called up yesterday and they said they have 10 kittens for adoption and they are open till 6 pm, when we went in all excited with my 6 year old son, the vet said that the kittens for adoption was only until 5 pm and she was so rude about it, like how do you expect working people to come adopt a pet when you have such inconvenient timings? Mon to Friday until 5 pm only? When we checked in the front desk, the lady said the vet is available till 5.30.. My husband requested if we can see the kittens atleast so we all can choose one and adopt it tomorrow before 5, she refused even that very rudely. Thanks to her those innocent kittens won't find forever homes soon. Really disappointed with her attitude, after all we were there to adopt a cat..

Always a great experience when I go to best friends Springvale. All my family pets have bee moved to Springvale. Previously, a few were at Stud Park Best Friends but the vet was very strict/aggressive with my dog (Mocha) which made him super anxious/nervous/scared/aggressive. It made me really nervous to bring him to the vet. My sisters dog goes to Springvale Best Friends, so when mocha needed another vet appointment I decided to try him at Springvale. He had no issues at all with Riian. Riian also always takes time to explain to you his findings and what he concludes in wrong with your pet. He always puts it in simple words for you to understand and always approaches my pets with a friendly comical energy which always leads them to be happy and trust him

Today as I walked in the store with my dog and wanting to get some treat for her and get some cat litter. There is a customer also with her dog. And my dog complaints a little after she can't go and play with her. As for covid issue I don't want to come close to other customer anyway. There is a female staff said to me, CAN YOU WALK AWAY? It was really rude in my point of view because it is the first sentence I received today in this store today. Not even with a 'please' or a 'hi' word. Way to rude. I have been here without my dog a few times and used to be good service. End of just getting the cat litter as I can't even come close to the snack area. Never gonna return to this store.

Sadly this rating is directed at the rude and judgemental groomer. The store staff for retail are absolutely lovely, but the groomer chose to have an attitude about her and totally fobbed me off without giving me so much as 5 minutes to discuss our dog. You can’t judge a dog simply based on its breed without taking into account its temperament or even offering to meet the dog. Sadly because of the attitude problem of your groomer, I will take my business elsewhere permanently which is a shame for the store as we spend so much money here normally and would have been regulars for grooming too. Might be worth teaching her some customer service.

My husband and I rescued our cat in November 2022. Nails were neglected and were overgrown. A friend of mine suggested Best Friends Pets in Springvale, so we went in and met Cassie. She was so warm and welcoming and this was completely a different and horrible experience to our first visit to another vet clinic to get nails trimmed - so of course we were very nervous. But she took our fur baby to the back, I filled in some forms which took about 5 minutes or so and by the time I put the clipboard down… it was all done. All nails too - I am just amazed! I’m so happy and for a great price too! We definitely will be coming back!

I got some out of date Proudi patties from Best Friends in Springvale. I alerted the store to out of date products that they were selling and the General Manager Elise contacted me straight away on the phone. I was not really expecting anything out of it but I was pleasantly surprised about the way that Elise have handled everything. I would definitely be recommending the store as they have great customer service (everytime I call over the phone or in store their staff is very pleasant and accommodating) I have been coming here for the last 3 months and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future.

A wonderful vet experience! Dr Riian Lee is absolutely amazing! Our 1.5 yr old cat is quite anxious and scared of strangers, but Dr Riian created such a relaxed and calming environment. He took his time, giving our kitty space to get acquainted with and handled him with such care. He’s super knowledgeable, experienced and explained things so well. We could see our kitty becoming more and more comfortable during the consult - We’re so happy to have found our family vet :) Thank you Riian and team! Terrible service, Friday i went and asking an appointment , they said today 1:30. Today i went The girl was on her lunch hour and they didn't know how much she gave, in addition to this they came to demand that my puppy had to have all the vaccines to be able clipping his nails, something that they never mentioned on Friday when I went to ask the appointment , for what they assign an appointment at lunchtime if they are not going to attend?? be clear with the requirements and don't waste people's time

I booked grooming for my pet and the staff here is so rude. Never smile or be friendly even with me or my dog. She check my dog hair and ask for extra $50 for the hair coat. Already agree but after 10 mins she called me come back to picked her up because she can't do it and my dog wanna bite her??? Dog can't be nice, will scare and nervous with a stranger but if you are a proffessional staff you should know how to calm them down. Never come back again

Really like shopping here. Staff are very good, approachable and don't mind doing the extra little things that makes visiting here a good experience. The store stocks a large range of pet food and at very competitive prices. The best thing is that after my initial purchase of the food, I have not paid full price for her food ever again. Each purchase you get a credit for the next time you shop. Heading there this morning, in fact.

I went to my Springvale store on Princess Hwy to get help with a rash on my elderly Jack Russell Dog l have. The young lady listened closely to my dilemma & in the end l come out with product, clear information & a big smile on my face. I felt so good after receiving excellent customer service & even with a big smile & went home to start my mission. I am to go back after a week to discuss with them how it all went.

We have taken all our dogs, Lou Lou, Tank,Zelda,Penny to see Dr Riian Lee and we highly recommend him to anybody looking for a Fantastic vet, we have had all our dogs have surgeries and Riian is great/ professional, he helped when we needed to put our older dog with glaucoma to rest, he is so caring and wonderful with any pet, and the staff at best friends are fantastic and very helpful.

I love the attention they give to my two furry girls. Ginny and Rory’s tails wag non stop when they enter the store, and I can tell they are looking for the staff who give them lots of love and attention. My dogs regularly come in for the full spa treatment, and therefore their behaviour tells me that they feel safe and well looked after when they are in the care of the staff.

This Best Friends Pets Springvale has everything I need to keep my cat healthy. I was caught short on cat litter. They had the brand I wanted in store, at a good price. The Staff are friendly and willing to help with anything I needed. With plenty of stock on hand, I had plenty of items to choose from. Close to home, it was easy to call in and make my purchase.

I love this place. Staff are super friendly and caring. They 'almost' have everything we need for our puppy. Only service missing is a Vet, but in light of that I've been told their likely to offer this service VERY soon so I really look forward to the 1stop shop. First of all, being a Sunday morning, I very much like the quietness. That is a plus... this place is even quieter as not that many come here making this a double bonus. Staff a reasonably good, but having a passion for animals does not make them experts of a particular breed. Will I return is the bigger question... yes, I will.

Amazing staff who where extremely patient and caring with my difficult jack Russel who absolutely hates anyone cutting her nails. They got the job done with so much compassion and patience despite the fight my jack Russell put up. Recommend this store to anyone who wants their babies to receive the best possible care.

Adopted a pet yesterday at Best Friends Pets Springvale. The vet nurse was so knowledgeable and helpful, this is my first time adopting and they made it so easy. The other staff were so compassionate and excited to see the last kitten be adopted. A big thank you for making me feel so welcome.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Listened to what I required and suggested suitable alternatives as the product I wanted wasn’t available. Very pleased and delighted as I am able to ensure my pet is safely and comfortably settled in at home with the products that I purchased.

Took our large dog to find a winter coat. Other stores had nothing in his size. Found the perfect coat here . Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our dog loved his new coat and the staff really liked him. I will definitely be back here .

Only found this place a couple of months ago to buy flea treatment for my dog the service was excellent and they have anything you need for your pooch they also have vet and training services for your pooch I highly recommend it.

The staff here are always friendly and helpful and really look like they enjoy working where they work. Always ready to help you with enquiries ... this is just in the store part I have not used the other facilities
